Thanks for starting this thread! I'd love to join you in this challenge. I too will commit to moving for at least 50 miles this month. I usually walk each evening, but it's getting dark out earlier, so I'm going to have to work on incorporating some other activities. Or invest in a new treadmill.

Sept. 1 - 4th - 5.5 miles so far

Well, I've been keeping track, ish. So...

don't know where everybody is.. I hope they will show up. suspect lots of people are swamped with school starting and will show up soon. If not, we'll just have to cheer for each other!
I'm a little bit behind my weekly goal, but did 8+ miles this week.
I'm glad you guys signed up. I really appreciate the support and will try to give support, too.

I was a total slug yesterday I'm doing great as far as eating goes and I'm continuing to lose weight, but I'm having a really hard time getting motivated to exercise. I'd better get moving if I want to make my 50 mile goal! Hope everyone is doing well. Have a great day! Rita

eta: OK, I managed to get my walk in early today before the big storm.

9/6 - 5.5 + 3.25 = 8.75/50

I'll get there yet!

walked (limped?) three miles today. It took an hour and a half. Probably not the best use of my time. I can ride 3 miles in less than 20 minutes on a bike. :-)

It might not be the best use of your time, but it's still good use. Sometimes I find the (stationary) bike too boring. It's nice to get out and see the world. I usually walk over a bridge near my house. It has a walkway for bikers/pedestrians that's separated from the roadway and spans across a really pretty river. Once I'm in better shape, maybe I'll venture over it with my bike.

Sorry if I missed it, but why are you limping?

I have arthritis and had surgery on my hip about two and a half months ago to shave off some of the arthritis inside the joint. I am still re-habbing from that. I have not been able to take a walk since June. So this was my first walk in several months. It was just a rather long one. :-)

Wow! Good for you for getting out there today. I'm just doing 3 miles myself, and that's without surgery or arthritis! Congrats on your accomplishment.

Pretty quiet in here. I hope it's because everyone's out and moving!!

9/7 8.75 + 3 = 11.75

I'm going to have to step it up a bit if I want to make 50!

Crazy and rmc; we are all about the same size and started at the same size and are going to the same weight, according to our tickers.
How are you doing it?
swimming - you were smart to get on this before you got up too high.

That's pretty wild. I didn't even notice that. I am doing weight watchers. I did it 7 years ago and lost 70 pounds but after 3 kids I gained it back. I'm done having kids and ready to get fit. Come on ladies we can do it

I didn't notice that either! Great . . . we should make excellent "partners"! I'm just counting calories and trying to scale back on carbs a bit. I have tried a lot of diets, but always gained the weight back. Learning to watch portions and make better choices to stay within a certain number of calories seems to work best for me.

How are you doing it, wantingto?

i am eating 60-100 gm. of protein, some healthy oil (like olive oil) and 30 gm of fiber and no artificial ingredients. Somehow I get all of the carbs I need and more doing this. I log what I eat on Fit day. I have to be at the gym three (or more) days a week to rehab my hip, so I do weights and some miles on the bike there.
