Happy Monday, all!

I was all prepared for today but things have gone awry for me. Today is a holiday in Canada, but here I am at work! So, I had to rush in this morning for an emergency, so I didn't get to exercise! I much prefer exercising in the morning to the evening, so this throws off my whole day.

Anyway, I was able to eat a healthy breakfast (WW bagel and light cream cheese) and quickly pack a healthy lunch (tuna and crackers, veggies, light cheese and a peach). I stopped for a green tea on the way. So, I am alright as far as food goes, but feeling kinda sucky about being here on a holiday. (and having to exercise when I get home at 6:30).

And, my scale hates me, since I am at the same weight for a 6th day, even though I have done so well and not cheated at all. :?:

Have a great day, chicks.

Heather

I had a spa day on Saturday as a reward for working so hard this summer semester.... I was a bit overloaded taking an intensive anatomy course, and online med terminology course and working fulltime as well as finding time for my chihuahua and my boyfriend and to study.... Anyway a lot got pushed to the side like cooking and doing the dishes. My spa day was awesome... I had an hour massage, a facial, and a pedicure. :) I think my reward when I hit my 10% for WW will be an hour message. That will be motivating!!

I can honestly say I am jealous about the spa day!

It's exciting to see so many couch to 5Kers. I'm on week 7 day 3 and I can't believe that I can actually run for 25 minutes at a time now. Good luck to all of you!

I just did the W4D1 and was like wow I ran for .5 mile at a higher speed than normal. I can't wait until Week 7!

I can't believe it! It's day 3 and I'm Two Pounds Down!!!!! Yes, I finally kicked that plateau's butt by exercising an hour yesterday (I normally only exercise 30 mins) and I'm down from 149.0 to 147.0 lbs.

GRATZ!! It always is nice to beat a plateau!

Day 3 done! I just did 30DayShred Level 2 and jumped rope for 25 minutes.. it's really hard, but I love it :). My eating went a lot better today, an old friend come by and brought me fried chicken and pommes frites.. And I gave them away when he went, didn't even try them :)..
See you all tomorrow!

I'm kinda jealous of the willpower. I will be able to do that soon. :)

I started a new program to go along with the bootcamp. And actually its by this military guy so it goes perfect with the whole bootcamp thing. Saturday, i had to do 5 reps/10 each of pushups/crunches and a shoulder workout...my shoulders and belly are a little sore. The guy kind of eases you into the program so yesterday was pretty easy, all i did was stretch plus 30 min each of walking and the bike.

What is the name of it. I kinda want to look into it.

I feel the same way sometimes too!

My day is going well I can't wait to work out and then drink my whey protein shake.. Hope all is well with everyone else.

 Hey my fellow bootcampians!!!

You know whoever it was back there that said something about going to the spa...they got me to thinking!!!

We work so freakin' hard! We kill ourselves day in and day out...trying to eat on plan...trying to kill ourselves exercising....so forth and so on! Sometimes the scale reflects and sometimes it doesn't....but anyways we all deserve a little something for ourself...a little pampering!!

So....give it to yourself! If you can't afford a spa day do something at home. Tomorrw I'm planning an at home pedicure during my daughter's afternoon nap! I found a website that talks you through it so I thought I would share

http://budgetstyle.about.com/od/beau...e_pedicure.htm

Have fun! Pamper yourself...you'll feel pretty and that will help with your future eat right/exercise efforts!!!

Every Sunday is now my "cheat day" I'm on BFL so I get one. But I started a routine, I'm not to think about dieting/exercise (and not recommending this to others) it's my day off as this is tiring to focus so hard. So on Sundays I am now doing my nails, hair, shaving, toe nails, bath, reading, quiet music, church, etc. It's sort of becoming my home spa day. Since I'm on a money budget too I'm not getting my nails done anymore, doing my own hair color, etc but I created a little drawer with my spa stuff... candles, bath salts/etc, nail stuff, etc. It makes me feel good to just rest and relax a day. I think we all deserve some spa time too.

Asynchronous 08-04-2008 06:46 PM

Did my couch 2 5k for the day, ate well at breakfast and lunch, adn have dinner all planned out- day 1 is a success! Of course, day 1 is always the easiest for me, it's around day 14ish that I start to get.... loose on my definitions, shall we say...

I love the idea of doing an at home pedicure, I'm just wondering how silly broke I can be about it... tight on money until the end of august. So, I may spring for a nail polish, cause I don't have any. I'm wondering if I can use my face wash- it exfoliates! and a wash cloth instead of buying a pumice stone and scrub. I just don't know if I want my feet smelling like my face.... seems a bit off, somehow

horsey 08-04-2008 07:02 PM

Don't forget the good old dollar store, bet you could find one for $1

Asynchronous 08-04-2008 08:15 PM

Ooo, good point, and there's one right up the street from me! Alright, if Sunday arrives and I have met my goals, it's cheap pedi time!

I knew as soon as I committed that something would come up to derail me. Between a birthday, unexpected company, babysitting grandkids, getting sick, injured heel, my long weekend (Fri - Sun) almost totally undid my plans.

I wasn't even going to post, but the least I can do is check in. Reading everyone's posts has really helped. Today I'm getting back on track, and by tomorrow I should be moving on down the line.

At least I got in 2 exercise sessions, only binged on "allowed" food, and drank almost enough water. Tomorrow I'll weigh in and take it from there.

horsey 08-04-2008 09:35 PM

That's ME, I started this series of bootcamp missions and I was the one getting sick, allergies, traveling, etc. So I handed the reins over to someone else BUT despite it all I've made some progress, lost a few lbs, my belly fat has mostly melted off and my legs/arms are toned from all of the weight training! So even if it can't be a 30 day bootcamp, I'm finding a semi-bootcamp does wonders too - at least it keeps our mindset on losing!

lene1974 08-04-2008 09:52 PM

I was down to 154lb this AM. :carrot: I leave for vacation tomorrow. Wish me luck behaving. I packed myself some healthy snacks and packed my workout clothes. If I don't lose this week I'm okay with that, but would really hate to gain. Have a great week ladies!

QuiltSwimmer 08-04-2008 11:02 PM

Will you still take me??
I know it is into August, but I need some support. DH just started a job that involves 4 straight hours of working out. He is great but does not understand me when it comes to losing the next 10 lbs.
I am biking tomorrow morning. I need someone to check in with....

Enygirl 08-05-2008 08:03 AM

Quilt - :welcome: YOu can always join in!

I'm with you all on the spa treatment stuff. I need to do more of that for myself! I feel like I've fallen and can't get up this week for some reason! I've only worked out 1 1/2 times! NOT GOOD! I've been eating like CRAP! I know a lot of it is stress - but I DO NOT want to fall back into the stress eating! AHH!

Hold me up girls - I NEED YOU!

MyOwnSaboteur 08-05-2008 08:51 AM

Just doing my morning check in. Hope it's okay, nobody welcomed me to the group but nobody said I couldn't join in so I will take that as a good sign :)

I did well yesterday with eating and water. Today will be exercising and the start of my decluttering and becoming more organized. However with 5 children running around that will prove to be a challenge indeed.

I just recently went to the spa, I go once a month for an express facial as that is all I can afford at this time and it is wonderful. However a little foot love wouldn't be a bad thing so I think I will do like the rest of you andpick up some polish and look after them this week end. I always feel better about myself when I make a little time for me!!

I should run for I have a very full day ahead of me!

pigginpodgey 08-05-2008 08:55 AM

Welcome Monica!! The more the merrier!!

Enygirl - you can do it climb back on that wagon!! I find that when I make myself exercise the eating naturally falls in too, when im struggling to get back on track I focus on either my eating or my exercise, otherwise I stress myself out more than Im not doing everything perfectly!!
Sounds crazy but when Im stressed I actually really enjoy plugging in my ipod and just going for it and letting my mind drift away - Im trying to entice you into exercise... is it working?! ; )
So far this week seems to be going pretty good for me, went to the gym last night, eating was on plan. Went to the pub but drank only diet coke. Gym tonight. Aqua aerobics is starting again in my area and I love it, that is on a wednesday, so Im hoping by throwing some different exercise in there might help speed up my weight loss a bit! Hope everyone is having a good day.

Darby1 08-05-2008 10:01 AM

Hey Girls,
Well, I had a rough day yesterday. I start TOM tomorrow, so part of it is that, but I felt "off" all day yesterday. Just sort of unsettled. Well, apparently the cure was a fattening dinner and chocolate fondue. Then I just felt sick.I wish I could just get it through my head that food is not the answer! I need to keep thinking of Enygirl's "If hunger is not the problem, food is not the answer".

Anyway, I'm up 2 lbs. Now, I know I didn't eat 7000 calories worth of food yesterday, so I'm hoping tomorrow will show a better weight.

So what does everyone do when they're stressed out? I turn to eating foods that are bad for me and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

wyo rose-sounds like you kept things under control under some stressful situations-what's your secret?

Anyway, as far as pedicures are concerned-you can use sea salt mixed with olive oil (or any kind of oil, really) to scrub dry areas. If your feet aren't that bad, you can use sugar mixed with a gel soap to exfoliate (this is a good full body scrub too. You can use it on your face too because it's pretty gentle)

I've been a licensed nail tech for years and I hate giving myself pedi's even though I have all the tools. I'm too tall and it's hard to reach my toes-my knees get in the way!

Anyway, hang in there everyone! We can do this! I'm sure of it.
