I'm still here *waves*
Yesterday, I came in at about 1700 which I thought was too high, but looking at my activity level, it was just fine. Even with the stress yesterday of the death of a dear friend in one state & the death of my cousin on the opposite end of the country (in childbirth...I'm sorry but that shocked me that a 36 year old could die in childbirth in 2006), I still did not give in to the desire to open a bottle of wine or bake an entire cake & eat it. We are expecting the baby to pass away as well but I refuse to allow myself to use a real tragedy as a selfish excuse to eat or drink excessively. |
That is absolutely terrible OnePerDecade. I don't know what else to say except that I am sorry for your loss.

oh paula...I am so sorry

Hello from the sunny south!
Food is .... hmmmm ..... plentiful and delicious :) But I can walk and do gardening type stuff whenever I want so ... |
Today's calories were about 1280 for me, even though I was a very bad girl and had a sausage mcmuffin for breakfast on the way to work. That thing has SOOOO much fat in it, I hated looking up the nutrition info to put on fitday. Bleh!
Usually my carbs/protein/fat pie chart is in fairly equal sections, but today the fat part of the pie chart looks like a PacMan eating the other two sections. Oops! My last bad food night is going to be New Year's Eve, where my fiance, two of my brothers, and myself all go out for Indian food. There's nothing healthy about the indian food I like, it's all made with butter, and impossible to figure out calories when you're at a restaurant. After that, I'll be in full-force Valentine's Challenge mode. |
Paula, I'm so sorry. It's amazing that with all that medical science can do, something like that can still happen! Big hugs! I'll be thinking of you and your family. I hope things get easier soon and I hope the best for the baby.
I haven't gotten to my weigh-in day yet, but I weigh myself everyday anyway. I'm at 180 as of this morning (TOM is coming to an end), yay! |
Paula--the warmest condolences for your loss. I am so sorry to hear it, and I wish the best for you and your family.
I did a bit under today for my calories at 1565 according to fitday. I ate a lot of junk food, though, and pretty much just like crap. I think my calories are probably a bit higher. Hopefully it will balance out a bit as I only did half of my scheduled work out. |
better late than never?
Hi! I know I'm kind of late to the party, but can I join the Valentine's Day Challenge? I'd like to lose ten pounds between now and then.
(Well, actually I'd like to lose twice that, but I think the only way I'll do that is to cut off my own head!) I have done WW points (the old ones, not the flex) in the past, and that works okay, but I've always been crap about exercising. Now I'm finally starting to exercise regularly, and if my calculations are correct, the two things together SHOULD mean they'll be less of me to love by then. ;) |
Tamibeep - I just started too, so I don't think it is too late. Of your avatar picture, are you a fan of Are You Being Served? I love that show and hope to get the DVDs soon.
|
Welcome Tamibeep and good luck on the Valentine's goal! :goodluck: 10 pounds will be a real challenge, go for it !.
OnePerDecade...What can I say, I'm so sorry. My sympathies to you and your family, that is so sad. O.K. Susan, where are you? On vacation? I know you can't pick food out of your garden in Ontario unless you have a magical garden?:sunny: SmartButt...1280 calories is good considering the sausage muffin. Too bad they can't come up with a ff version and still taste as good. Last time we were in Rochester, Mn. we ate at a Indian restaurant, Yum!:hun: I tried a tad of everything and what a wonderful experience. We don't have Indian restaurants in our area so I can't be tempted. Just don't try to keep up with 3 men at your table. Calejo...You my dear have today and tomorrow before your deadline and I think you'll make it, only 1 pound to go! I'll hold my congrats off until tomorrow when you have a big smiley face on. LittleElectron...I wonder how people come up with their sign-in names, are you full of :censored: and vinegar? Keep up the good work, 4 pounds down on Valentine's challenge. As for me, I'm off the cook breakfast. Later.......bobbi |
Awesome! I know ten pounds is a bit steep for six weeks, but I'm taking into consideration that the first week of a new plan, I tend to drop four or five pounds of water weight. So even if I only lose a pound a week (which is about what I'm aiming for, long-term) I will be a happy camper!
And webweevil - yes! I LOVE AYBS! Particularly Mrs. Slocombe. I haven't gotten the DVDs because our local PBS station runs the old episodes every Saturday night. I'm free! |
12 pounds by V Day sounds like a very attainable goal
I'm doing WW points thing with minimal losage but maybe I just needed to set a goal rather than "uh... lose weight?" I am about 161 right now would love to be 150 by then I've started actually excersizing with a gal pal so that'll help :carrot: so what are the rules? Do we post here everyday our progress, what we've ate and done, etc.?? |
Can I join in? I would really like to lose 8 pounds by Valentine's Day. I don't lose weight very fast so this will be a real challenge for me. We still have a lot of junk food here but I'm throwing it all out on January 1st!:)
|
Welcome Jenna, we all differ. Some post daily like me, others post whenever they find the time. We really don't have any rules, the gal that started this has only popped in a couple of time????????? We just set a reachable goal and work toward it. Thankfully the Holidays will all be over tomorrow and we can all get back on track.

Stopeatting........Yes, please join us. We must have been typing at the same time and I missed welcoming you!
