I get so busy and then I forget that I even started a challenge such as this...bad me. Anyways Things have been going pretty well for me, I have been to a few Christmas "functions" in the past couple of days, and tried to eat as best as I can. I also got a new scale, which was lovely. And I got my aerobic stepper, so I have done that once, and am going to use it this morning...I am going to try to get in 4 work outs on it a week.

YOu gals are doing fabulous!

:cp: Yay Stephy on the stepper :bravo: Make sure you trip over that ALL THE TIME so that it reminds you to use it!

I'm trying to resist the :censored: Mince Pies downstairs in the kitchen :censored: :censored: :censored: :tantrum:

my husband put the stepper under our entertainment center...and it doesn't quite fit..so now if I sit down to watch tv I can see it:) What a sneaky man....

2frustrated 12-20-2006 10:57 AM

You'll have to step and watch TV now! ;)

HOORAY!

This is the perfect challenge, may i join?

My weight loss has stalled and i need a good kick up the bottom to get me started again.

My target for Valentines Day...8 weeks @ 2 lbs per weeks.... 16 lbs To Lose!

I look forward to getting to know you all better, along this weight loss journey,

I have ordered some Oolong tea, (meant to aid weight loss) has anyone tried this before... to any success? I'm not expecting miracles, but thought that it would be a good alternative to my daily coffee and if it does aid weight loss then double bonus!!

Also, i'm 5ft 5" and 202 bs, any ideas how many calories i should be eating per day, i'm active, but at the moment do not take any exercise:o
I am used to eating low carb, so calorie counting is quite new to me...any advice is much appreciated!

Coralie

Hi Coralie ... do you have a free account at fitday.com?

coralie 12-20-2006 04:11 PM

Hi Susan,

I have just set up an account with fitday, but still dont really understand what my calorie allowence should be? It seems like a very helpful tool, although alot to try to understand!!
Is there a thread where you can see what people eat, so that i can understand how to set up a daily menu?

Thank you!

coralie

I've lost two pounds since December 1 and have learned so, so much since I've started counting calories. I started counting them just ten days ago and what an eye opener it's been.

I take in way too many calories in the form of fat and now the challenge is in tweaking that.

Here's a question for all of you and I'm sure it's all over the place but I weighed myself today and I weighed two pounds MORE than I did four days ago when I saw the weight loss.

I weighed myself at 4:00 PM after a full session of sleep (I work nights) and four days ago I weighed myself at 7:00 AM after a full session of sleep (my day off). Do you suppose this is nothing to worry about?

I prefer to weigh myself every two to four weeks when I'm on an off-cycle at work and it's my second morning off.

I don't dare change my ticker for fear that the two pounds I lost found their way back. Doesn't seem possible... I'm nailing the calorie count dead on.

Diva - that is not weight to worry about. When you work a weird shift like that the body will be using water at weird times. Pick a time to weigh when you have 2-3 days on the same shift if possible and stick with that.

OR conversely if you do find yourself being scale obsessed, then work with it. Dont try to assign blame to every single number. Learn what is a normal fluctuation for you and then you wont try to question every little shift.

Like i know I am lower than normal now because circumstances are preventing me from exercising. As soon as I start exercising again I will gain ~ 2 lbs of water.

I know that when I am getting a TOM my weight is lowest 4 days after it starts.

I know that a looooong run (12 + miles) will cause me to gain 4-5 lbs of water weight the next day.

Okay Ennay...

Thanks for the heads up. I'll stick to my once or twice a month weigh-in. New digital scale and it's still a toy to me. (Never owned a scale in my life.)

This is soooo much fun, though. Can't wait until I stop smoking to see the whole thing come together.

Thanks again...

Wendy

PS - Your baby looks EXACTLY like my grandson! Gorgeous!

Coralie? You can link your fitday here into your profile and we'll help you tweak your food. Do you know what you normally eat? If you do, we can help you cut and improve.

Kokomo 12-21-2006 04:21 AM

Down 2 lbs :carrot: I have been exercising lots and it's paying off. My food has been fairly good too.

2frustrated 12-21-2006 04:52 AM

Oh for heaven's sake! Stalled and I've been good good good for the past... 1, 2, 3 days! ;)

flower 12-21-2006 09:57 AM

I am down for the week, woo hoo!

Bobbolink 12-21-2006 10:01 AM

Vallentine's Challenge

3 weeks and 3 days to go! How time flies.
:welcome2: Coralie...I purchased Weightless Cranberry tea, it's an herb tea (caffeine free) and it's suppose to help maintain normal body weight. It doesn't affect me one way or another but I'd be interested in the Oolong tea, is that available here in the states or just the UK? You have to play around with the Fitday, I just started using the Nutritions info. Or I should say I'm aware of it and it's helping me make better food choices.
AlDiva.../don't eat salty foods the day before you weigh in, it makes a big difference.
ennay...I didn't remember that you were/are a runner. You must have some pretty tough feet, that would kill my feet running 12+ miles. I have bunions, heel spurs and plantar fasciitis.
Susan...how do you put your Fitday on these threads?
Kokom...congrats on your 2 pound loss.:cheer:
2 Frust...Are you living up to your name? I went for 9 days without cheating on foods many months ago and talk about being frustrated! I was down right mad, but eventually it came off. Good Luck!
See Ya All....Bobbi
