Bobbi? I think you do it in your profile but you have to make your fitday public on the actual site.

ennay 12-21-2006 11:05 AM

My weight is going down but....8 days without exercise and my bodyfat is going up.

justcath 12-21-2006 12:48 PM

hi girls... forgot to post my weigh-in. I was so good, drank my water, exercised every other day, stayed within my breastfeeding calorie range,

I am right back where I started - 186. crap, I am so discouraged. :(

LittleElectron 12-21-2006 02:41 PM

Sorry y'all. I was getting home from school and forgot to post. i didn't even journal my food intake for the past two days. And super--I'm up a pound. Sigh.

So far, I've had 600 calories for the day. Since I've only been awake since 11 am, that's not bad, but it's not great either. I'm planning on doing 75 minutes of cardio today and then maybe I will go for a walk later :)

Just keep on going, Justcath--the weight will come off!!

Hi everyone!

Yesterday was a bit in the high side calorie-wise but it was an occasion I planned on...the scale was wavering between 157 & 158 this morning so I'll call it 157.5 :)

dinosgorawr 12-21-2006 07:56 PM

hey everyone! im down to lose 10 pounds by valentines day! its a plan.

OnePerDecade 12-22-2006 12:29 AM

I came in at about 1350-1400 today so I'm back on track.

Dinosgorawr, I love your name :)

I'm not exactly joining this. But I wanted to let you girls know that I was going a little longer. My birthday is 3/2/07 and that's my date. I wanna drop 40 by then.

Valentine's Challenge

Friday's Journal:
Calories...1,150
Calories burned...2,283. This seems high to me, do you set your activity level low on the Fitday?
Weight -/+/same...down 1/2 pound
Fat...27% 9% of this was good fat, Olive Oil. I was surprised that my FlatOut wrap was 3% of my fat intake, same as lean Elk.???????
I still didn't get an answer from anyone on Fitday, what percentage is normal?
Flower...congrats, down the whole week!:cp:
2Frust...Stalled, I hate when that happens.
Koko...Congrats on the two pound loss! :cheer2:
Anab...Smoking is a hard habit to kick, I'm an ex-smoker. (I stopped over 10 years ago) Hang in there!:crossed:
Have a Merry Christmas everyone. I know that's not politically correct, but we celebrate Chrismas at our house. Jesus is the reason for the season!

bobbi - when I am not nursing I set my activity level to "bed bound" on fitday, and then add in my intentional exercise. This seems to be the most accurate as far as 3500 calorie deficit = 1 lb (on average)

although since i took steps to fix my insulin resistance. I may be better off now, it seems I am losing a bit faster than predicted.

I am used to eating low carb, so calorie counting is quite new to me...any advice is much appreciated!

I'm 5'6", I usually try to keep my calories around 1400 or less and make sure I'm pretty active to boot. I've been doing somewhat poorly this week (I blame stress, sickness and the holidays, as well as my lazy butt). I've been finding excuses pretty easily these days.

On a side note, however, I was hoping for an opinion about my goal for Valentine's. I'm not sure that shooting for 27 lbs. in a little over 7 weeks is very healthy or realistic. Any thoughts?

SmartButt 12-23-2006 10:46 PM

Calejo - I've met some people that are more inspired and motivated when they set unrealistic goals for themselves, and they are happy with whatever they achieve. Me, personally? I want to actually achieve the original goal I set.

3 lbs a week is DAMN hard. I was reading Poppi's (from biggest loser) myspace profile and she said to go from a size 22 to a size 2 in 8 months, she ate 1100 calories a day (not recommended) and worked out at least 2 hours a day. To me, this is unrealistic. And maybe not even healthy.

You may be able to lose 3 lbs in a week once in a while - but then you have to account for the inevitable "plateau" that will happen just as often. Sometimes your body will just refuse to let fat go and even with eating right & working out you may not lose.

You and I weigh about the same and we're the same height. I am here a bit late to officially join the challenge, but I'd like to see another 10 lbs gone by Valentine's Day as well, putting me at 14 lbs lost altogether. I think that's realistic, and if I surpass that, I'll be twice as thrilled!

What do you think?

ennay 12-23-2006 11:01 PM

calejo, I think its too much, much above 2 lbs and you are probably losing faster than is healthy

Calejo 12-23-2006 11:36 PM

Hmm... that's what I was thinking. I wish I could be 155 before Valentine's, and I will work towards it, but I'm not going to kill myself to get there. Time to rethink my goal, be more realistic and just shoot for the best. I think I've been stressing myself out over this as well. Ok, I think 169 is realistic for me. I'm shooting for the 160's! I haven't been in the 160's since I was in High School! It'd be wonderful to get there again.

LittleElectron 12-24-2006 01:03 AM
