Hi everyone -

I guess what I do is basically calorie counting too. I didn't like fitday or SP so I use MFD (myfooddiary) I find it much easlier to use. Basically they give me guideline as to how many calories to eat that day depending on my activity level recorded that day. The # changes as my weight goes down.

They encourage you to eat back most if not all your exercise calories, which took awhile to convince myself that was okay, but I figure since I am weight training and my metabolic rate was increasing that I needed those "extra calories" to keep my body running at optimum.

So I eat at a defict of about 1000 per day which comes out to 2lbs a week and so far it's been working. Nearly 4 months now and nealy 40lbs! (I had a big drop the first week) I have awhile to go, but as long as it keeps working I'm happy.

I'm eatting about 1800-2000 a day as I exercise atleast a hour a day. On the days I don't exercise it's more like 1450 and I find that harder to stick with, which makes convincing myself to exercise easier! heh!

Anyway, Hi everyone I hope to pop-in now and then.

SP is Spark - People another calorie counting/tracking journal site like fitday for some reason when I typed it in as one word it ******** stared it out like that when I posted. I personally don't like it anyway but it's odd that it would be censored like that when the other 2 tracking sites I named were not.

Oh well!

calories so far today: 1493 and 466 burned.

(I will have to look up how you guys come up with the maintence # to figure out my deficit but MFD has my maintence set at 2428)

Well I decided to start today instead of tomorrow Im getting ready to head to the gym to burn off my quarter pounder with cheese. I do better but my first day I have to treat myself after my strict week of egg whites and chicken it sucks so bad, calorie counting is so easy it doesnt even feel like dieting after doing that. Anyways I started dieting/calorie counting 1 month ago today. Im down 15lbs and feeling so motivated. I have never made it this long I can go a week and maybe 2 if everything is just going perfect in my life. Now I have made this a habit and loving the results. When I calorie count and workout everyday my result is usually 1lbs a week thats not alot but I know its healthy and the exercise is great so when I lose all the weight I will look toned Im joined shape xpress tomorrow its like a curves. And I will do that for weight training and do my elpitical or treadmill for my cardio. I do a minimum of 1 hour cardio a day unless I do a class or weight training. I have 16lbs to my goal and my goal might change once I get down to that to see how I feel and look my goal now of 164 is the most I can weight on the bmi scale to be considered normal so I could go down another 20 if need be but Im a big girl nice curves and I want to keep them. I look great at 155-160 but that was 6 years ago depending on my muscle tone now to lose more might be good not sure yet. Ok this is a really long post now so I will stop. Im glad to be here with you all counting away the pounds and hope to get to know you all better over the next month.

Looker I figure about 235 calories for a 30 minute workout at curves. On fitday theres a choice for circuit training. It is actually a very good calorie burning exercise. At lot of people think curves is easy but you really get what you put into it.

I had a good day. I didn't hit my goal of 1000 calorie deficit but I was close.

(edit) I had a late night snack attack *ugh*
Monday, 2354 calories, 212 deficit , 35 mintues Tae Bo

Wow great day Val! I counted 400 for shape xpress which seems right cause I did more like 45 minutes cause I did the 30 minutes then the lady did some floor exercises with me. Im gonna try and do a hour tomorrow. For the hour I will figure 500 calories. Im gonna get me a watch that tracks HR and calories burned I could be way off and messing up my calorie counting and right now I need to be right not much time till Im 30 and I gotta hit this goal

I have not posted since last week thursday...

Thursday: Surplus
Friday: 150 deficit
Saturday: 1000 deficit
Sunday: 700 deficit
Monday: 450 deficit.

I did not weigh in last week because I feared what the scale would say. This week, however, we are fasting for the month of Ramadaan and I am trying to make good food choices for breakfast and supper instead of just eating what is tasty.
