Hi Susan! Congrats on your 2lb loss! I sure do hope I am shrinking lol.

I agree with your research on the 2lb fluctuation, I remember reading somewhere way back to avoid carbs late in the evening. This could be why. Makes sense to me.

I'm thinking about napping right now, unfortunately, I'm at work.... .

Susan: Way to go! Down 2 is awesome. I am trying to wrap my little pea brain around the fact that losing slowly is the way to do it! You are an inspiration!

Lynne: Your shoes sound lovely! Its to cold here yet to get out slingbacks..my toes would freeze! Loose pants..yahoo!

Miles: We have century theaters here and you can bring in your own stuff! My son just told me that on Sunday. He always takes in a large bottle of pop and his own candy...I did not know you could do that..but I will next time! And I agree any deficit is a good one!

Lena: I think that's an interesting theory. Probably correct. I was stuck for over two weeks then all of the sudden..2lbs gone! I think that with this calorie counting it seems a little bit more scientific and I am able to just wait for it to happen if I have created the deficit...it will come off...eventually !

Great deficits DGpebbles and Donna !

My deficit for Sunday wasn't as good as I thought it would be....985. I was doing super great until after dinner....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....peanut butter !

Have a great Monday everybody!....see ya later ..lighter!

Good work Donna!
I had a deficit of over 700 as well. I have some running around to do today so I'd better be watchful!

Morning all .

Yesterday's deficit was 1132! I had a great work out this morning, ran 2.3 miles which took 30 mins and did 30 mins of hills on elliptical and I managed to keep my heart rate up in "the zone" the whole time, so that makes 1 hour of cardio. If that doesn't bust some cals I don't know what will.

My little feet hurt though, hope it's not from my new shoes .

LynneA- congrats on lose pants, sounds like even if you don't have a loss next week that your body is letting go of fat. And wow on all that running. Do you run on treadmill or just around? That is totally awesome, I bet your stamina is making you feel real good.

Susan - so carbs work like a form of fluids? So they leave you less dehydrated the morning after? Is that both good and bad carbS? And 700 yesterday? nice! I see you are really adding in that exercise. I need to practice what I preach and get on with the same.

BynC - 985 is still *awesome*! Sometimes you have to take what you can get, and yes tricky peanut butter...

Donna - wow, congrats on the loss! And sounds like everyone was napping last couple days, I think that is good, I am sure we all needed it. I keep meaning to look into connections between sleep and weight loss...I know sleeping is supposed to be better for weight loss. Maybe Susan will beat me to it

Paltry deficit of 346 for me yesterday. Did not work out for 2nd day in a row and it always kicks me, but it was about 11pm by the time I finished my dinner so I chose sleep over exercise. Sometimes I think the exercise would feel better...hopefully I will work extra hard today to make up for it.

Good morning, folks!

Hehe I hear you, Blyn! I was on my way to a 1,000 just from calories in yesterday (didn't exercise at all ), until I just had to have that extra cup of coffee. Dad-blasted cream! But mmmmmm sure was good!

Yahoo, Donna! You're doing great!!!

I love days full of "running around", Susan! I find it racks up the steps-per-day without me having to really think about it!

Nice one, Lynne! Did you run outside or on treadmill? An hour of cardio is fantastic!

I was right with you on not exercising yesterday, Miles. Not sure why but I just couldn't bring myself to do anything constructive! And at 11pm, I most definitely would have chosen sleep over exercise! I'm planning on being more active today, though!

Blues - thanks! I run for 30 mins on the treadmill and am up to running at 4.7 mph now. Today I did 2.35 miles. I do the elliptical before the treadmill, simply because if I do treadmill first all the ellipticals are usually taken! I use a pre-program which is basically 4 mins of low hills, 4 mins of high hills for 28 mins. It's awesome and really pushes me. My stamina has definately increased over the past year. I'm training to run my first 5k road race which will be on Memorial Monday.

Good Morning All!

Susan: do you know how many calories are in the Natural Peanut butter. I buy it from the grinder at the health food store. No Salt or any thing in it. I cannot find the calories for that kind so I just use Jiffs calories. It is my most absolute favorite food....better than chocolate...

Donna: Way to go on the loss!

LynnA: Wow you did all that in the morning! Awesome deficit! You didn't run in those little kitten heels now did ya?

Me well for the second time this week I got over 10000 steps! Yahoo! I had a deficit of 1405 yesterday. Did anyone see Oprah yesterday? That thing on women and heart attacks! Scared me to death I have alot of the symptoms like high bp, high chol, and high blood sugar. So I have a different mind set on losing weight and exercise this time. It MUST be done. Like a job! I have painted myself into this corner and must find my way out!..

BlynC, I can just see myself on the treadmill in heels! I'm no Sarah Jessica Parker yet (see her run in SATC in Manolo's, go on I dare you).

Congrats on your huge deficit and on your steps! Awesome job . I don't watch Oprah but I also worried about the effects my weight was having on my health and that was one of the biggest reasons I could come up with to change my lifestyle.

Miles- a carby snack at bedtime will leave you less dehydrated in the morning, yes. I had a feeling that post was kind confusing.

BlynC- have you tried calorieking.com? I will if I think about it. I've got four windows open looking for heart rate monitors

Lynne -great job on the hour of cardio...Doesn't it feel great..I've never tried doing the hills...I always do fat burn or cardio....does the hills have a tough resistance?

Blyn great deficit.wow..sometimes it takes thing like that to scare us into getting in better shape...I decided that I'm getting older and my body is slowing down...I don't want to get old and not be able to get around very well...I want to be one of those fit old grandma's and want to enjoy playing with my grandchildren oneday...I also want to be in good health to be able to watch them grow up and have thier own families...

I never did go looking for the natural peanutbutter sorry, BlynC! Did you find it?

I had a 700 cal defict yesterday. Somewhat impaired by the demon peanutbutter! and night time snacking. I shoulda gone to bed when DH did ... but I wanted to see the end of SVU.

Speaking of DH ... he's a lovely man really! A man of few words. Achingly logical and plain speaking some times This morning I was rattling on about cardio and how I'd had an epiphany that I couldn't get to goal without it. He wanted to know why that was a problem. I told him because I dislike it so much. He said .... "Ok then, be fat." I hate it when he's right!
