Question - I've asked this before on a different thread but, do you all eat the calories you earn from exercise? I have been feeling really hungry and have also been exercising for at least 1 hour per day this week. Yesterday, I ate all but 250 calories (my 1200 per day plus a few hundred that I earned from exercise). Today I ate breakfast and lunch and still have about 950 calories left (due to extra exercise calories earned). I am glad to have the extra calories because last night I wasn't hungry and so far today I am doing good appetite-wise. However, isn't it the calorie deficit that will make me lose weight? I probably should still stick to 1200-1400 calories per day regardless of exercise calories earned?

Personally, I find that if I cut down too much I feel really faint after exercise. Ballpark, I really need to hit 1400 calories before I can do an hour workout without feeling really rough. But hey, my scales are refusing to move at the moment so what do I know

Anyway, I'm making good progress towards 12 hours of exercise with Sun: 1hr, Mon: 1hr, Tues: 2hr. So 4/12

*sigh* today is not good... I have eaten cheez-its and teddy grams.... Being tired really messes with your cravings!

Those kind of snack foods ought to be under lock and key, well, at my house anyway.

Don't worry about messing up ~ just keep trying.

My challenge has been having my hungry 24 yo home for a few days. Today I put on jeans that are a size or two too small so they'd pinch me into remembering my diet.

guac - I don't eat exercise cals unless I am really hungry. Overall I think it's a good strategy to just listen to your body's signals, and feed it healthful food if it tells you it is hungry and you have met your basic calorie allotment for the day. That being said, I have been known to use my exercise cals to have a beer at the end of the day

So far so good on my May goal of planning & tracking every day of the month. Hurray!

Well, I ate all of my calories for the day, including the exercise calories. Although, a cocktail sounds good right about now! Frozen strawberry daiquiri? Mmmm.....

I don't eat back my exercise calories because the calculation for my daily caloric allotment already takes my weekly activity level into account, so eating back my exercise calories would be like double-counting the exercise.

Ugh. I have not done well this week, at all. I have to recommit to this challenge and my plan, in general. I have started back up with my workouts but I am starting today to get the eating on par as well so I can make the most of this challenge. I really get upset when my habits start to go downhill so back to healthy habits, pronto!

4star, good for you! we're not even half way through this challenge yet, you can do it!!

Well, last night I had an absolutely horrid binge. It was really quite ridiculous... so much food!! I was dreading getting on the scale this morning, but when I did, I hadn't gained anything. I really thought I would have because of all the salty crackers etc. I didn't lose, but I didn't gain either. I don't get this. Is it because I drink so much water??

Also, I am going today to buy a Jillian Michaels DVD and some weights. I get alot of cardio by chasing my daughter and cleaning, so I thought this would be good for toning. Any thoughts??

How is everyone else doing? I hope y'all have a good day!!

Rounding out week two with a 3 pound weight loss. Yippee! If only every week could be this encouraging.

I'll admit I'm worried about this weekend though. Several restaurant meals celebrating Mother's Day loom, and I doubt very seriously I'll behave myself

But I'll still be back at it Monday morning come what may. I'm taking this challenge seriously: by June 1st I'm determined to be a whole lot thinner!

Good luck to everyone else with their weigh-ins, and happy mother's day weekend to all you moms out there!!

Jumping in here. Hi!

I've been eating my exercise calories and the weight loss is slow but right now I just want to keep on the wagon. Five good workouts this week. I have an event to attent tonight that will have lots of food. I hope I can restrain myself to a glass of wine. Dinner at home before I go is supposed to help but sometimes it just makes it worse

Well it's May 11th, and my May goal was to be in ONEderland, and yesterday morning when I weighed in the scale said 198.6!!! Bounced back up a little bit today but still in the ones! I guess I need a better goal, which will now be to lose a total of 100lbs since January 1st! I've got about 5lbs to go!
