Lemon ~ Ugh, humidity. It just makes you feel gross all over, doesn't it? I hope you have better and less humid weather soon!
BigChief ~ It's awesome that you've been hitting your calorie target everyday and that you are enjoying your workouts. Keep up the good work! fruitlady ~ Glad the TOM bloat is gone! Momto4girls ~ Good for you for staying within your calories! sumu ~ Wow, for being able to maintain on vacation! That's impressive! H82Sweat ~ Woosh party over here! :carrot::hat::dancer::cheer2: Good for you, girl! The same thing happened to me just last week. Don't question it, just take it and run!!! lol! Chickie ~ Have fun at Zumba! Love it! princess ~ I know what you mean about taking a break from regular food you've been eating. Sometimes our taste buds need a change! Corinne ~ Yowsa, good luck on your long shift! But, yes, OT is always nice. k15g15 ~ I'm so glad your mom is recovering well after her surgery and congrats on another pound lost! You can do this! :) I would like to be around 160ish by Labor Day, but I am not going to push it. I am going to count calories during the week and still count calories on the weekend, but the weekends are going to be a bit more lax for me. We'll see what happens. Have a great Monday, everyone! |
Lemon- I too am so sick and tired of this heat and humidity! Today is supposed to be another miserable day but then (fingers x-ed) temps are supposed to cool down at least a little.
Big Chief- Keep hitting that calorie target! I see the finish line in your near future :) Fruit- glad you've kicked the visitor to the curb ;) I'll bet you feel perkier too! Momto4- another lady who is dazzling with will power dust! could you send that fairy over to me this week? I am jonesing for beer and nachos and need a little assist ;) sumu- you must feel so good about maintaining on vacay! Chickie- some day I am going to try zumba! not so much for the workout, although that will be good too, but I am about as gifted at dancing as a giraffe and maybe it would help :D Princess- sometimes a gal just needs a little "junk." everything in moderation is what I keep hearing. hope you enjoyed it! Corinne- I don't know how you deal with those shifts! kg15- so glad to hear your Mom is getting better! as far as losing.... anxiety maybe? just be sure you are taking care of yourself too, okay? Emme- how was Chicago? I had a horrid night last night. I think maybe I had food poisoning?? I woke up in the middle of the night and was beyond sick to my stomach, cold and clammy but hot at the same time iykwim. Went to the bathroom, got super dizzy, and wound up passed out on the bathroom floor! I literally crawled back to bed and I although I didn't sleep, stomach cramps were hideous, I laid in bed until nearly 10. I feel weak but better now. Still plan on taking it easy today. I'll maybe walk on the treadmill instad of the run I had planned (feeling guilty about it because other than yard work yesterday I took a day off from working out) and I am going to eat easily digestible stuff instead of focusing on protein and veggies as I had planned. Hopefully if I just eat low on my target range I won't blow up and I can get back to normal by tomorrow. Oh, I managed to do sort of a pull up yesterday! I was so proud LOL I can usually only do a "jump into it" and barely get to bar level, but I got my chip up over that bar with only a wee jump on my first rep! That's another goal of mine, previously unstated. I want to be able to do 5 pull ups by the time I hit goal :D |
Well ladies it's a new month & a new half of our challenge. We've made it halfway through!
;; In other news, I'm really trying to do better on the weekends. Through the week, I do so well cause of my schedule. I easliy get 100oz of water daily, plenty of walking & moving around & I even make sure to weigh my food at work & at home.. But the weekends are totally horrible for me. I barely drink any water, I eat cookies, candy, etc.. & I just want to lay around & not exercise. I don't know what I can do to do better on the weekends besides FORCE myself.. the scale didn't move at all this past weekend & I was really hoping to see a 2lb loss. My TOM isn't for another couple weeks so I'm trying to lose a little more before then.. Today is the first day of Ramadan here in the US, so some of my family will be fasting through the day; no food or water until sundown.. Hopefully I can show my support & join the fast for ....a DAY.. LOL.. that takes soo much discipline & I wouldn't want to Screw it up!!! Anyway chicas; I'm going back to work now, just finished lunch.. You all have a blessed day & beginning of the week.. let's get it done!! :grouphug: |

H82Sweat ~ OMG, that does not sound good!! I am glad you are better today, but please don't push yourself. And congrats on the pull up! That's definitely an accomplishment. :) Chicago was fun, thanks for asking...we went to a nice italian restaurant and I had eggplant parm, bread, and a great flourless chocolate dessert w/vanilla gelato...and 3 glasses of wine. ;) It was a good time! I'm back in the land of the living!!! It's was a rough weekend and I couldn't get to post. Nothing like that feeling...icky all weekend!! Didn't weigh in because I don't count sickness losses. Even though it's a loss it seems to come back when I get back to normal. I'm sure by my birthday I will be at my goal though.
Gotta get back to work but just wanted to check in for today. Today's Nugget: Don't dwell on what's in the past too long. It will not get you to your destination. Looking in the rear view mirror too long will lead to an accident. Look at what has happened and learn from it then move forward to what's ahead!! |
Chickie - Sounds like it might be fun - I reeeally want to try zumba sometime.
H82Sweat - Sucks about the food poisoning (take it easy!), but I'm totally impressed by the pull-up! I have the upper body strength of a toddler - can't even budge when dangling from a bar. P H A T - Fasting for the day sounds like a tough challenge to me - it would be SO easy to eat everything in the house after that! Good luck! jigglefree - Hope you're back in fighting condition now! Not much to report here. Another weekend, another cake baked and sent off to work with DH (I bake every weekend - not eating it all has been a good challenge for me). I finished week 3 of couch to 5k last week - it's up to five minute runs this week, eeeek. I've got my MIL visiting soon, for almost two full weeks (kill me now, please...). I need to come up with some strategies to stay on plan while she's here. Between going out too much and the stress, it's gonna be tough. |
Emme- hope you feel better, I was sick to my stomach and had the sweats all night, finally at 2am I got up and took something for my stomach. Take Care!
I was doing so well, Friday I was down to 116lbs. This weekend, I ate a total of 8200 calories! All the weight is back, plus more. I'm not maintaining, I'm gaining. I can't stay away from hubby's junk food when it's here. I'll never fit into my jeans this fall, so I'm going to try really hard to get down enough to fit in my jeans. At 115lbs they fit snug, so my goal is somewhere in between 111-115lbs. Hubby has got to stop with the junk food, I have no willpower anymore. |
Morning all. It's hard to believe that Summer is on the downslide and we are heading into another Fall. I reaffirmed my goals and I'm down to 162.5. I will be sooo happy when I hit the 150s again. I still have a way to go but I'm thrilled with the progress. If I can be in the mid 140s by my birthday in early October I will be dancing on the ceiling!! Have a great week, hopefully this heat and humidity will subside, my hair can't take it anymore :-).
|
Emme: Thank you for the encouragement! It is nice to take a break from the healthy food. I'm getting back on track with it. It seems like you're having fun with maintenance!!
H82sweat: Taking a break was kinda nice!! I'm sorry to hear you weren't feeling very well :( I hope you feel better!! Take care of yourself! Phat: I am so with you on having trouble on the weekends. My goal right now is to stay within my calorie range 2 or the 3 weekend days. Once I get that down, then I'll start focusing on eating right on the weekends. Sometimes, we just need a break though! jigglefree: Thanks for the nugget! You're very right. We can only dwell on the past for so long and then we must move on. That applies to life AND changing our eating habits! Thank you!! fruitlady: Isn't it still your TOM? You may still be a bit bloated and high from that? Either way, you have a good goal and I know you'll get back to where you want to be!! You're a pretty determined woman!! sumu1-Good morning to you as well! I'm with ya on dancing on the ceiling if I got into the 140's by october!! LOL. Looks like we're both pretty close to each other in current weights! Awesome work!! :carrot: I'm doing allright. I have been eating better the last couple days. For some reason my desire to eat has not been there yesterday or today. I get hungry, but I just don't want to eat. Strange? I still eat, I make sure I do. But, just odd. Otherwise, things are good. I weigh in tomorrow! I'm excited. I think I'll take new measurements as well! There's some clothes that are fitting better, so I'm eager to take a look!! I'll wait though, working on self-control! I'll catch you ladies later! Keep it movin'! :carrot: |
Buenas mananas, chicas ricas!
I just got home from doing meds at work, just had a protein shake and am getting ready to workout for the next hour, hour 1/2. I didn't get a chance to yesterday, so I'm going to really ramp it up today. TDI- I get that feeling sometimes, where I just really don't want to eat and will have to force myself to. And then, there are the times that I want to eat when I'm not hungry, haha. Maybe they'll balance each other out, ha. Woohoo about the looser clothing! Sumu- Congrats! Keep up the hard work- it's really paying off! Fruit- I think you need to beat your husband over the head with a carrot stick so he'll stop the junk! :carrot: I know you have amazing willpower- you can kick it! And hope you're feeling better! BigChief- I hate how any little changes throw off being on plan. I do okay if I plan everything out well in advance, otherwise I just fall off the wagon. Here's hoping MIL's presence will be a motivation, not a bane! Jiggle- I love this: Looking in the rear view mirror too long will lead to an accident. I hope you're feeling better! Seems like a lot of sickness is going around. I just heard about a salmonella outbreak linked to ground turkey- have you had any lately? Emme- Glad to hear you enjoyed Chicago! I have to make my way out there some time. I'll be interested to hear about your weekend transitions! Kind of like calorie cycling, which I think I should seriously start trying as well. Phat- Weekends are tough for me to, but because I'm AT work, not home from work, haha! We have all sorts of snack foods around and I've done really well about not giving in to temptation, but almost always when I fall off the wagon it starts at work. I'm usually really good OP during the day, but when it gets to the evening and work is winding down, with nothing to do I snack! We can fight this together though! You're right- it's a fresh month! H82sweat- Yikes, everyone is getting sick! I hope you're feeling better! Don't push yourself too hard until your better. Congrats on the pull up! I was pretty tired last night after my shift ended, haha. But, when overtime comes available in my line of work, I've got to take it because they don't tend to offer OT to full time staff. Since January, I had only gotten about 3 hours of OT but in the past two weeks I've gotten 36 hours OT, so I'm making up for lost time, ha! K15- Sorry to hear about your mom- hope she is doing well! And woo hoo for the last 5 pounds!!! Chickie- After saying I was going to start Zumba, I still haven't! Haven't been able to fit it into my schedule yet. But my schedule is going to be a lot worse when school starts again, so I may just have to try vids. |
jiggle ~ I was wondering where you were! :) It stinks that you weren't feeling well...glad you are feeling better!
BigChief ~ I'm with you on the pull-ups...haven't done 'em and don't need to because I know I won't get far. Have fun with the M-I-L ;) fruitlady ~ Tell your hubby to hide his junk food! Or keep it with him at all times if you feel like your willpower is weak. sumu ~ That is a great birthday goal...you can do it! :) tdiprincess ~ I hope your weigh in goes well. It's awesome that your clothes are fitting better! Corinne ~ I hope you have a great workout. It's great that you are so motivated to workout! It get the endorphins moving and really helps. I am still eating the same way I ate last week as far as counting calories and all that jazz. I am a creature of habit, so once I start eating a certain way it's hard for me to break it. I will always have to count calories, so it makes me feel less anxious if I stick with the foods and calorie ranges I have stuck with for the past few months. My S-I-L is visiting from Florida this weekend, and I am going out for pizza with a friend on Friday, so I am hoping that my usual calorie count for the week will counteract the damage to be done over the weekend. I would still like to lose a few pounds and be close to 160 by Labor Day, but if I don't get there it won't kill me. Happy Tuesday, everyone! Let's make today a great OP day! |
fruitlady - Ouch, that's rough. Is your DH willing to keep the junk food out of the house to help you out?
sumu1 - You are SO close to the 150s! I bet you can make it to the 140s by October - seems totally achievable to me. tdiprincess - Have to say, having to make yourself eat sounds like a pretty good problem to me. ;) CorinneIrene - I'm hoping it'll be motivating too - she's just the type of person to make catty comments about things, so I'm going to just not give her the opportunity... I'm just about to go work out, too - have fun with yours! Emme - I'm the same way re: normal foods. I feel MUCH better when at least most of the food I eat is 'old standards' and I know exactly what is in them. Good day yesterday for me. DH is working 2nd shift all week, so I'll be home alone (well, plus baby) in the evenings. Haven't decided yet if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I'm more likely to be bored and get the munchies, but I also don't need to make a big dinner and can just have little snacks. I know I'll stay on plan either way, but the munchies just make being OP so much less fun... |
Good morning ladies!
Still feeling off today but I made myself get on the treadmill and lift anyway. I "rented" everythig I ate over the past 24hrs so at this point I am going to fast and, hopefully, give my tummy a chance to settle down. I have a hair appt today. Time for the super blonde to go. I've had it for 4 months, I am bored with it, and it is really hard on the hair. Still debating what to do for my next incarnation ;) I'll post a pic later. Hope everyone has a great on plan day! Edited to add the pic of my hair. I wish I could take a picture of myself without ending up looking like a turtle! http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/...newhair001.jpg |
I'm feeling great today. I think it was a lack of sleep coupled with lots of working, running errands, and eating out too much. Our fridge went out again...Got is fixed yesterday!! It's amazing how work takes up most of our life but creates schedules that keep us on track. So I will be weighing in on my birthday and the scale needs to say what I want it to say...cause I do plan to splurge on that day. My husband and daughter are planning to bake a cake for me and I can't say I'm not going to have any. My husband is planning a birthday party for me as well and there will be some good eating. I should be at my birthday goal by Thursday and have a pound or two to play with for my party.
BigCheif - I'm in fighting condition and I'm ready to do battle!! Find something to do before the munchies set in. Emme - Here I am!! I feel like a new woman today. I can drink my Zipfizz and I have operational energy. You can make it to your goal by Labor Day. You have all you need...just make daily decisions that will get you to your expected end. Corinne - How was your workout??? No domestic carroting around here...LOL Tdiprincess - When my clothes start fitting better it takes all I have not to do measurements before Saturday. So I stay out of the drawer that I keep my tape measure in so do what you need to do to hold on. You are going to be wonderfully happy with your results though!! Sumu1 - :carrot::carrot::carrot:Let's dance now...we are going to make our birthday goals!!! Fruitlady - Since it doesn't appear that he will stop with the junk food you have to do what you have to do. Kinda like I do with the cookies that are out everyday. You can't control what he does but you can control yourself. It's time to say no to the junk food until you make goal or below so you can wiggle room...pun intended. Today's Nugget: Even when life throws a monkey wrench in with all the other things going on...don't take it as an opportunity to eat unhealthy. You have the ability to control your responses to the unexpected so don't hand control of your health to any situations or circumstances. Make you and your life a priority!!!! |
This week! :( I haven't been being extremely careful with my eating or getting much exercise down, nor have I had time for my 30 minute post lurk on here. I'm down to 189.4, not the 185 I had hoped for by the end of July but I'm still pretty pleased with it. I'm going to amend my other end of month goals a little because of it. Hopefully everything settles down so I can post on here a little more again (it helps keep me in check).
Fruitlady - Is it possible for your husband to lock away his junkie foods or only buy single servings of it? I know how it is to be out of control and when I'm in that mindset I eat ANYTHING bad around me. h82sweat - That's pretty impressive, I think I can maybe manage 1/4 of a pull-up before my arms give out. Maybe I should work on that.. Jigglefree - If I don't have time to get on here and post beforehand, I hope you have a fabulous birthday party! :) |
