Walked 47 min. & ate 2660 calories, not good! It's been in the 90's & humid here, making it feel like 100 degrees. Thurs. thru Saturday it's gonna be even worse! I like to take two walks, but this heat is unbearable, it gets hard to breath and I have to turn around and go home.

I'm having a hard time returning to my normal calorie range, once you get in the habit of going over, it's hard to cut back!
Today was 1000 lower than yesterday, so I hope I'm on my way down to a normal range.

I took all of your advice and didn't weigh in today, didn't want to ruin my happiness for the day. But now I'm thinking maybe I should have. Maybe seeing a high number would have scared me into eating better today.

I'm in!

Absolute newbie here, but I'm in! So let's see ...

1. Journal every.last.bite.
2. Be down by 15lbs.
3. Walk. Walk. Walk. (min. 3 x week)

jigglefree 07-20-2011 08:50 AM

Lori - you know you can block her posts from showing up on your page. You don't have evict her from your friends list and instead of reading the messages just delete them so that you aren't bothered by them.
Fruitlady - When it gets hard to go back just try lowering them by 100 instead of going from 2500 to 1500. It may work better for you.
Momto4girls - :welcome3:We are working it out in this group. So hop on in and join the fun!!
P H A T - You are rocking it and I hope your AC is back on!!! I hate the heat too much for the air to go out.
Ann71 - How did you do at the potluck?
H82Sweat - Yes you will make your goals.

Yesterday was below calorie range but I included chips and the grease in them was nasty. I was upset because I WASTED ALL THOSE CALORIES. But it's all good today. I have all my foods and they are low calorie but filling. YAY!!!

Today's Nugget: No matter what you are dealing with do not give it power over you and the decisions you have to make to be healthy. Don't give in to emotional eating or the urge to binge. Be STRONG today ladies!!

Emme 07-20-2011 09:28 AM

Good morning, ladies! I like today's nugget, jiggle! It's so true...we have the choice to eat healthy, so we need to work through our emotions and eat only when we are truly hungry.

jdonato 07-20-2011 09:56 AM

Good morning ladies,

So after this weekend I got down to 137.8 and was feeling great! Then Monday for my softball game (our team decided to dress up 80's theme) I had pizza and lots of beer. So I'm working off the bloat now. I was 140.0 this morning. I don't regret eating and drinking. For me starting over again I decided to allow myself to drink once a week and eat what I want once a week. I'm starting to work out now and normally before I would eat dinner before my softball games and then after the game still have beer and pizza, but this time I made the pizza my dinner. I ended up eating less than I normally would so that was a plus!

Back on track with the eating. I know this is going to be a process, and I'm just starting to work out so I can't expect results over night. I have to make this change permantly.

My group at work is having a going away picnic today for 2 people at 2pm. We normally eat lunch at 11, so I made a decision for myself. I'm going to eat my lunch like I normally would and jsut not eat full meat at the picnic. only some veggies and a few snacks that's it. I don't care what people say this is about my health and everyone is complaining about how late the picnic is because of lunch.

Well sorry to rant and go but I have alot of work to finish up. I will try and get back on later for personals. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Good idea, and don't worry about what others say. I do the same thing. Sometimes we'll have meetings where lunch is served, but the meeting is at 1:00, and I usually eat lunch by 11:00 or 11:30. I just eat my lunch as usual and then don't eat anything at the meeting. Or I might just grab an apple or something. People ask, and I tell them. It's no big deal.

Accomplished my fast yesterday and felt fantastic this morning. All hydrated and with a tummy that was easy to fill up with a healthy low cal meal. I also managed to up my speed to 5mph for the first 1.5 miles of a 3 mile run yesterday.

Lori- don't read her abuse but don't delete it either. If it does get ridiculous and CPS shows up you will want those messages to show them. In the meantime I think you have absolutely the right attitude!

Fruitlady- I just did a fast day to get myself back under control. You might be too small to truly fast, but maybe a fruit and water day would work for you?

Momto4- Hiya! My goal is 15lbs too. We can do it!

Jigglefree- I too love the nugget for today. I was really overwrought yesterday trying to figure out what calorie level I should be at and how much I should be exercising and had a tiny emotional breakdown. But I did not break my fast and I feel so powerful as a result!

Jdonato- you KNOW that is all sodium and water bloat :) You did everything you could to minimize the impact of the treat night and I think that is the right way to handle it!

I have to face the grocery store today. Completely out of so many things so that it cannot be avoided. Hopefully going full and post-workout will help!

H82Sweat ~ I hope you have a better day today! I've had days like that, too. It's like I'd get into a panic and freak out about calorie ranges and how much I should exercise, if the exercise is too much for the amount of calories I'm consuming, or maybe it's not enough, or should I up my calories for the amount of exercise, or keep it the same because it will take a few weeks to see a pattern, etc...I could go on and on...it makes my head want to explode. :) And good for you for not breaking your fast!

sumu1 07-20-2011 10:35 AM

Excited! 164.5 and my size 12 shorts are loose!!! If that's not motivation I don't know what is...but I have to say this heat is messing with me, weight moves up and down at a ridiculous rate, my water and salt content must be totally thown off. So I'm focusing on my clothes. I bought these shorts 3 weeks ago and they were tight so it's a NSV.

I took a tip and tried the WebMD site and it told me to eat 1350 calories per day and burn off 1000!:dizzy: Jeepers! My run yesterday was just over 400 and I thought about running more than 6 miles per day to do what they suggest and just broke down. I think that site is just stupid.

I decided to stick with my original plan of eating 20% less than my TDEE and increasing the intensity of my workouts weekly instead.

I'll have a slower rate of loss, I suppose, but WebMD's suggestion just didn't seem healthy or sustainable to me........ once I calmed down and got myself rational again ;)

Ohhh, I HATE it when I use a lot of calories on something that turns out to be kind of gross. Did that a week or two ago with frozen pizza and was seriously irritated with myself.

I've been kind of frustrated so far this week. I dropped two pounds last week, and this week went up a pound from that and just STAYED there. I've been right on with the calories every day, and I've been exercising on plan, so I'm not sure what to do. I don't want to drop the calories any farther because I'm breastfeeding and don't want to kill my milk supply (feeding the baby is more of a priority right now than dropping the weight, alas).

I'm considering upping the exercise instead, but I don't know if that's a good idea. I have a history of burning myself out on overly-ambitious exercise plans, plus I'm technically still recovering from my c-section, so I dunno. Bah, humbug. Might just wait it out and hope this short plateau is just a mild bump in the road and will end on its own.

tdiprincess 07-20-2011 02:41 PM

Bigchiefhoho: First, Love your name!! :D Second, I'm sorry about the issues this week! That really does get frustrating when we hold weight!!

I too am holding weight. I think I'm bloated from this weekend and then with all the heat we've been having. I did weigh myself and I'm showing about a pound up from last week. I will wait until next week to count it as official to see if it's just water weight or I actually gained a pound.

On a very happy note though, I took measurements 12 days ago. I decided that since I was having trouble with my scale this week that I would redo the measurements. I am down by 7.5inches all around! That makes me pretty happy. I'm very glad that I took measurements and will now recommend everybody do it. It gives you another perspective than just the scale!!

Keep up the awesome work guys! I'll check in later!! Keep movin'! :carrot:

ChickieChicks 07-20-2011 04:22 PM

Sick again! I swear I'm licking the pavement or something...3rd time in 2 months. Ugh. This week has been a blur so far, but I'm coming out of the fog. Made it to Zumba yesterday, but then had this 24-flu junk. I'm traveling with my 2 young boys out of state this weekend, and it will be my first big test of staying on plan away from home. Fingers crossed!

BBL to catch up. Down to 148.5....SO CLOSE to 25 pounds lost.

k15g15 07-20-2011 09:14 PM

Hello! The scale said 172 today so 1 pound in like 3 weeks ....grrrr :( But not up and I don't want to go there again :) These last pounds to goal might make me crazy!

H82Sweat-I have been eyeing fasting for a while. Are you planning on doing it regularly?

Lori- I would be suprised if Social Services show up....they really have to be hounded to get them to check anything out...I need to stop talking about it now before I get on that soap box :)

Thin Thought everyone!
