Thanks all- I think you guys have more faith in me than I do!

Walked 30min & had 1376 calories. Made light & spicy scalloped sweet potatoes tonight, it was so good I had 2 servings. I gained another pound from the weekend, i expected it and didn't let it ruin my day or mood. Second day back on plan, water weight should be gone soon!

h82sweat....love your pic! Your hair is so cute short.

I just spent the evening out, enjoyed some wine and a buffet and I hit my cal limit, it has been a few weeks since I have been here. Thank goodness for limits!!! Who knows where I would end up with out them.

tdiprincess 08-03-2011 06:14 AM

jigglefree: It was very hard not to weigh and measure yesterday!!!
corrinne: I'm glad I'm not alone in eating fluctuations!!
Emme: Thank you! I feel it went good!!
Bigchiefhoho: When you look at it that way LOL. Maybe I'm just getting used to breaking up my meals. The hard part though is that I haven't been eating vegetables and fruit because I don't feel like it..
fruitlady: You're doing awesome! We know you'll succeed! Especially since you're already back OP!
H82sweat: I like your new hair color! Very nice!! (I don't think you look like a turtle LOL)

so my weigh-in: 159 (I met my mini-goal!) Overall measurement loss of 4.5. This all pretty much came from my waist and thighs. I am quite happy with the results! Especially since this week I haven't been able to exercise nearly as much as I was last week. I'm starting my TOM. Around then my joints will start to get achy if I push them too much, so I think that's why.
Today I will do the 100pushups, 200 crunches and 200 squats routine. I may also do some arm circuit training. Still giving my legs a rest, probably until next week.
Anyhow, it is a rainy day today :( Quite dreary. I probably won't make it out for a bike ride. We'll see though. It's been a couple weeks since I've ridden my bike which is sad!
I'll see you chickies later!! Keep it movin'! :carrot: :carrot:

Emme 08-03-2011 10:25 AM

H82Sweat ~ Love the hair! You don't look like a turtle, lol!! (p.s. I think we have the same shower curtain)

princess ~ Congrats on meeting your mini-goal! :cheer:

Good morning Ladies,
I had to take the day off because my toddler is running a slight fever and her nose is runny. I'm contemplating a visit to the peditrician.

Yesterday was a good day calorie wise. Today is on track so far. Gotta get the water in today. My plan is to wash away the pounds...LOL!!! I'm a little frustrated with the landlord because we have been going around and around about the fridge. It goes out and then comes back in so he sent a repairman that did something Monday night but sometime last night it went out and some of my meat was thawed. I called him and he said he spent money on other repairs on the house so he will have to wait for the rent check to get a fridge. Well my husband doesn't get his check until tomorrow and we were going to pay him by Friday. What am I supposed to do between today and Friday..? I'm a little agitated about it but I will not let that get me off task.

Today's Nugget: Be consistent in your good eating habits they will yeild good results. Think about the food you are craving, does it satisfy a need or a want. If you really feel like it satisfies your body's physical needs then eat up. If it satifies your emotions or psyche...put it down. We are going to get to our goals in this challenge. We have to be consistently on point with our eating habits. There are going to be days that you just don't want to count a calorie but you want to eat things you want to eat. Don't do that too many times. The satisfaction is only momentary but the guilt and misery will last a couple hours or even days and will show up on the places we want it off.

Good morning ladies,

Sorry it's been a while. Been trying to deal with the aftermath of the fire. I gained weight went up to 141.8 and started this monday the South Beach Diet Phase 1 so get back down and get my body back to craving healthy stuff. So this morning I was down to 139.2 and only on day 3 of it. So Im happy.

I have good news though, tomorrow at 5pm we get to sign the papers for our new apartment, they are upgrading us to a two bedroom 1.5 bath for the same price we were paying on the one bedroom. So we are happy, but still ticked off at the insurance right now. NO one is calling us back and we are just getting frustrated. I want to know how much we will get back before we buy anything. So basically when we move in tomorrow we will have a blow up matress and a few boxes but we have eachother and that's all that matters.

sorry ladies not to do personals, but I have to get back to work. I will be on later.

BigChiefHoho 08-03-2011 03:09 PM

H82Sweat: Nice hair - love the color. (nice tan, too!)
jigglefree: Now that's annoying. If he's just going to use your rent check to buy a fridge, would he just let you guys buy the fridge yourselves so you can get it a little faster?
LemonZest: I've had to edit my goals a bit too, due to slower-than-foreseen loss. No big deal, right? A loss is a loss!
fruitlady: The scalloped sweet potatoes sound really tasty - any way I could get a recipe from you?
envelope: Hard limits have been a life-saver for me, too. Sometimes it's nice to not have the freedom to go, "well, just another little bit won't hurt..."
tdiprincess: Congrats on the mini-goal!
jdonato: Good to hear they're treating you okay with the apartment! And I'm super impressed that you're back on track again already after a setback like that.

I have very little of interest to report, personally. I've got a nasty cold, but I'm trying to keep up with the workouts anyway. It's weird, but I feel a little better (can breathe better) when I'm exercising. I'm pretty exhausted, though. I'm gonna spend the rest of the day vegging on the couch, I think. Might just have a big bowl of (measured and counted ;)) popcorn for supper - yum!

H82Sweat 08-03-2011 03:30 PM

Jigglefree- I would have told the landlord that you expect to be given space in HIS fridge until he gets yours fixed, plus the cost of spoilage deducted from the next month's rent. I'm old and cranky. ;)

Lemonzest- I am concerned that I'm not going to make my challenge goal on weight. So I have decided to focus on my other goals to compensate for it. Won't be as satisfying as seeing 150 on the scale, but it will be something

fruitlady- scalloped sweet potatoes? please please please share that recipe!

tdiprincess- congrats on the mini-goal! I am so envious of your progress. just the thought of 100 pushups makes my shoulder hurt though lol

jdonato- I hope the ins gets straightened out quickly and am glad to hear you are in a nicer apt. you deserve it after what you've been through!

bigchief- hope you feel better soon! mmm.... popcorn.... maybe I'll do that tonight!

I am back on my feet again after my stomach issues. I hope to never experience that again! Pretty sure it was the baby greens I ate since I am the only one who got sick and the only one who had salad.

I was able to do the high intensity treadmill program today, basically 3 miles in 30 minutes at varying inclines, and feel like a WARRIOR as a result LOL I asked DH for an elliptical for variety and to work on lifting the butt that gravity currently has firmly in its grasp ;)

Hope everyone has a great OP day!

tdiprincess 08-03-2011 04:57 PM

h82sweat: It's a program to lead up to 100 pushups. I'm in week1 of 6 weeks I think. It's 3 days a week.. not too bad. We'll see see how I do. My arms, abs and legs are still sore from the other day, but I also did some pilates at that point too. At least you're getting in some good cardio, I really have been slacking in that arena with biking and not be able to do my usual circuits! Awesome work!!
Glad to hear you're feeling better!!

jdonato: That is really good news about the apartment! I hope your insurance company gets it's act together!

fruitlady 08-03-2011 09:18 PM

H82 & big chief- Sure, I'll post the recipe tomorrow, it was delicious. Very tired tonight, i've been cooking all night again.
jdonato- i'm so happy for you, you deserve that weight loss!
jiggle- Hang in there, I know you will. Your much stronger than I am!

Walked 31 min, & it started raining. The rain felt good, it's been so hot here for weeks. Had 1342 calories, still can't seem to stay around my 1200 calorie limit. Had the rest of the scalloped sweet potatoes w/ lunch, that put me over. Made butternut squash tonight, sprinkled cinnamon, stevia & sprayed Olivio ( an olive oil spray) on top & baked it. First time I ever tasted that kind of squash, so it was something new for me. I think it could have used more cinnamon, but it was tasty. Also made Zesty summer veggies for tomorrow & my daughter wanted me to bake her hot fudge pudding cake from scratch. Can't believe i made that and was not tempted to even try it. Yay!

I'm very happy that you're back on track jdonato!

I will post more personal cheers in the next couple of days but here's my current update: it was a TOM week. I lost 2lbs.

I'm very happy with what I'm eating with my level of activity & exercise. It's been a hard couple weeks w/the weather (I'm a snow bunny); the heat has finally broken in St. Louis overnight. We (my Scottie girl & foster Scottie boy) can now start taking longer walks.

CorinneIrene 08-04-2011 09:52 AM

Hey ladies!

I've been doing alright OP. Last night, I *did* have a craving for an ice cream sundae, which brought me up to 1800 cals, but I planned for it. I don't need more than a serving size for stuff like that! Today, I'm headed to the fair and am leaving 900 calories for "fair food". Really, my main plan is to split a fried dough- have to have it once a year! I'm hoping to avoid any other fair food, but half of a fried dough will take up 350 calories so I'll have lots of wiggle room.

I'm about to go do my exercise for the day and I'm amped up!

Scottie- Lost 2 pounds on TOM? WOO HOO! I've never been able to do that! Congrats!

Fruit- I love all kinds of squash. I usually grow butternut, buttercup, acorn (probably my favorite), summer squash in my garden every year, but was too busy this year. I love the winter squashes baked with a bit of butter and brown sugar with cinnamon as well! Mm, my mouth is watering now!

TDI- I've thought about doing that 100 push-ups challenge. I can do about 30 girl push ups, ha, so I need some work there! You must be getting great arms! You're doing fantastic with the workouts! Congrats on your losses!

H82sweat- Glad to hear you're feeling better! Your hair looks great by the way! And no, you don't look like a turtle!

BigChief- Sorry to hear about your cold! Hope you're feeling better too! It's like the fall illnesses are hitting everyone early!

Jdon- I'm so happy that things are turning up for you again! Good to hear about your new apartment, a new place to make new memories again! Stay strong!

Jiggle- So true about your nugget! That's horrible about your fridge, though. They need to get on that asap. Cheers to water intake! My workout was great, thanks! I did a really tough one and am still sore two days later. Yesterday I had trouble walking because of the squats and lunges! Feels great though!

Envelope- Awesome sticking to plan!

Lemon- It's been similar for me! I'm *slowly* getting back on track. It's life though, eh? We'll all be having these struggles the rest of our lives. So we just have to keep going! You've done beautifully!

I just realized I use exclamation points quite a lot...haha, what can I say, I'm enthusiastic.

tdiprincess 08-04-2011 02:56 PM

fruitlady: Awesome work on getting back on track and also fighting the temptation to try some baked goods. I would've lost that one!! :carrot:

Corinne: You are doing really well! The fair sounds like fun. I totally know what you mean about fried dough once a year! HA! I haven't gotten my fill this year, I may try to find a way to make a little bit just to have some. Probably not though LOL.
My arms are getting there. They have been incredibly sore this week, along with my abs LOL. We will see how it goes. I can do 10 regular push-ups now. When I started this week I topped out at 9, so we'll see how I do tomorrow.

Otherwise, it is TOM week for me. I think that may have had something to do with my food choices earlier in the week. Is it sad that today is my first salad of the week??? Generally I have salad everyday!
Later I'll be mowing our jungle and detailing at least one of our cars. I may go for a bike ride, but I will see if I have the time since I have to work from 7-10.

Later chickies! Keep it movin'! :carrot:

H82Sweat 08-04-2011 03:16 PM

Today I can eat more than normal and I have no desire for food. Is that irony? lol

My weekend plans were blown again. Dh had another emergency work trip. This time out of state :(

TDI has inspired me to see how many regular pushups I can do :) That should keep me busy this weekend while I am missing my sweetie. I've already cleaned the house and done the laundry. Brushed my fluffy dog too. He's extra fluffy now!

Have a good one ladies!

fruitlady 08-04-2011 09:32 PM

Corinne- I've never tried acorn squash, gotta get some. We have a cheap farm stand about 5 mi. away, every tray is $1. You get alot on one tray too!

tdiprincess- Thanks! I usually can't stay away from sweet stuff either. I had just ate dinner and was full, so that helped. LOL

Walked 50min. not so hot today, seemed cool at 75 deg. Went over calories(1692), cooked again so that put me over. Found this recipe on the back of a kraft fat free mozzarella cheese bag! Yum!

Oh, lost 3lbs again. Water weight must be gone now, it's time to lose some real weight!
