Buenos manana, munecas!
I'm feeling great this morning. I did my weigh in today because I won't be here tomorrow morning, and weighed in back at 119.4! Very happy! I've been "good" the past few days. I am still secretly working towards 115, but leaving my goal at 120 to keep a 5 pound maintenance range. Today I'm headed down the NYC to meet up with a friend and hang out for the day/go to a concert on a boat tonight. I'll be spending the night and then coming back up tomorrow as I took the evening off. So excited to be seeing one of my favorite bands. It's going to be a looong day, as I woke up at 5:30 and the concert won't be starting until 12pm and will last about 3 hours. Maybe I can get a nap in! I probably won't quite be "on plan", but technically, I've been planning this indulgence. K15- Isn't it frustrating? When I first started weight loss, the weight came off so easily until I hit around 127-125. When I restarted with my new goal, I got to 120 pretty quickly too, but bounced back up a little despite "maintenance". Now, I'm eating the calories/exercising to lose 1.5 pounds a week, but have only lost 12 ounces. Which is still a loss I am thankful for! I guess our bodies just like to be stubborn for the last go around. But, hey, a loss is a loss is a loss! Congrats! Chickie- Hope you feel better! That sounds rotten. Being sick in the summer is the worst. Congrats on the loss! TDI- Measurements are sooo important, I've realized. I can look in the mirror and not notice any difference until I measure- then I can really see where those pounds have gone! Bigchief- You're doing great! It could be water weight. Now, I don't know anything about milk supply, but maybe also you weighed when you had a "full" supply? Does that make any difference in the scale? I can relate about wasted calories too. Often times, if I crave something and make room for it, I become so disappointed that it wasn't as heavenly as I had hoped and wish I had just eating something healthy, yummy, and filling instead! H82sweat- Yeesh! That seems like such overkill- remind me never to use webmd's counter! Definitely keep on keepin' on! Sumu- :carrot: I love that feeling! Jdon- That's how I feel- ****, we'll be eating like this the rest of our lives, and everyone fluctuates! Because I haven't been in maintenance for long, I've been beating myself up for the slightest "gain", but I need to learn to get over it and on with life! Cheers! Emme- Cheers to you! Jiggle- I hate wasted calories too! I've definitely been better at spending them on truly satisfying indulgences. I used to eat cheap candy as a treat but now the thought of that turns my stomach- I'd much rather have a better indulgence...like godiva pumpkin truffles...heh. Love you nugget, especially after my binge. I am thankful that I do no binge anywhere near where I used to- and then starve myself for days. That is over with! Momto4girls- Welcome!! Lori- Hope things get better! Fruit- This heat is killer! Hopefully you'll be okay! What I do, with weighing once a week, is look forward to my weigh in day and it pushes me harder, knowing that my overall effort counts. Then, I don't get depressed over minor glitches in a day. But, then again, what works for some doesn't work for others! Do what you need to do! |

Good Morning My Fellow Challengers!!!
I'm feeling good and ready for the day. Only thing is I forgot my vitamin drink for today. It is an awesome little thing that gives me loads of energy. I was supposed to drink it this morning as it had me up late last night. It's called zipfizz. It has loads of vitamin b12 and it turns me into the energizer bunny. I tried a full 16oz bottle yesterday around 2pm and it says it gives you 4-6 hours of energy. Maybe that is for extremely active people. I gave me 8 hours of energy and it didn't take long to kick in. I was not happy that I forgot it but such is life. The good thing is I'm not tired this morning. I'm finding that as the years go by I need more for my energy levels. I drank about 3.5 liters of water yesterday. I'm pretty sure I've washed off the past weekend so I will see where I am on Saturday. My birthday is in 2 weeks and I'm praying that I'll be at my birthday goal by then!!! I've gotten intense about my water and my plan. We shall see. Chickiechicks - I'm guessing you feel better since you went for ice cream. But hey it happens to the best of us and hindsight always steps in to show us how to make better choices next time. :chin: Corinne - Have fun at the concert and congrats on being back where you want to be. It's very healthy to have a maintenance range so you aren't obsessing over one number. :goodscale K15g15 - I say be happy even though you would like it to have been more it still adds to the bottom line. :D Tdiprincess - CONGRATS on the inches. Hopefully the bloat will leave by the end of today if it hasn't already!! Bigcheif - With you breastfeeding it may be better to stay where you are and increase your water intake. Sometimes the body will retain water for no apparent reason which may account for the holding pattern. If you are recovering from a c-section it may be better to do some mild cardio that won't disturb your healing process. This would also be a good time to practice pacing yourself so you set a pace that is sustainable. Just a suggestion. :?: H82Sweat - The good thing is you are listening to your body first and foremost. What sounds good for the masses may not be good for the individual. Slow loss is better than no loss or worse still a gain. :^: JD - You are exactly right it's a process. You made a good choice to make the pizza your dinner and that's what this journey is all about. Making more good choices than bad ones. The more good choices you make the desired results will come. Today's Nugget: Don't let the scale be your only measuring tool. There are Non Scale Victories that need to be celebrated. The pair of pants that were too tight but now fit, that skirt that wouldn't come past your hips and not you can pull it up and it almost zips, the inches lost, the temptation denied, the .1 pound lost, doing the workout that you didn't feel like doing, getting rid of the water weight gain and so on. These things will eventually get you to the number you want to see on the scale but these are victories as well. So don't get frustrated when the scale tells you something you don't want to hear, find something that will let you know your plan is working. Actually I want everyone to report a Non Scale Victory today. My NSV - I bought a skirt a couple months ago that fit pretty good but now it's too big and I couldn't wear it today. :carrot::carrot: |
I love the nugget!! My NSV is that I noticed that even though my legs still jiggle, they jiggle less LOL!! I don't mind walking around in my undies with this heat. I used to be so uncomfortable!! Oh, and I finally learned what NSV means LOL
Corrinne: Thanks for the support! I'm very happy that I started measuring! Jiggle: The bloatage has gone down a bit. I was up a pound yesterday, now I'm just up half a pound. It's heading on out! |
jiggle ~ Yes! NSVs rock, girl! :) My NSV happened last night: tried on a khaki skort that was too tight last year, but last night it wouldn't stay on my hips and kept falling because it was too big. Made me happy!

tdiprincess - That's great! Measurements are awesome motivation. I just took mine a week ago, so I'm afraid to take them again so soon for fear there won't be a change...
CorinneIrene - Hmm, I don't know if milk makes a difference in weighing. I'll try weighing myself before and after I feed him this morning - you've got me curious! jigglefree - That energy drink sounds great! I need all the help I can get lately. :D How's it taste? And yeah, pacing myself is important right now - I'm just SO impatient! I'll try to sit tight for a bit and build some good habits instead of pushing it, I think. Yesterday was pretty good for me. I did my C25K (week 2 day 2), even though I felt totally self-conscious. I run on the track at my husband's military base, and there was a division of Army guys doing PT at the time, which is totally nerve-wracking. They snuck up behind me and almost ran me down while I had my ipod too loud to hear them... But I finished it despite the scary uniformed dudes! :D And my eating was good too - right on track for the day, and healthier snacks than normal. So hurray for me! My NSV: I can't wear all of them yet, but I can fit in enough of my pre-pregnancy clothes that I FINALLY put my maternity clothes in storage! I'd been wearing them since I had the baby almost eight weeks ago. |
Good Morning! (I don't feel like it is but I am attempting mind over matter ;) )
K15g15- a loss is a loss is a loss! About the fasting. I am planning to do intermittent fasting. Once every 4 days I will have a water cleanse day. I have read good things about it being beneficial for overall health. It also worked really well to get my eating habits back under control. Corrine- hope you have a great time at the concert! Congrats on being under goal! PHAT- I hope your AC gets fixed and soon! The heat right now is killer. Jiggle- very good nugget today :) My NSV is fitting comfortably into a pair of my daughter's jeans from American Eagle (they were too big for her so she said I can have them!) and they look pretty good too! TDI- the heat, I think, is making everything swell. You'll shed that bloat and probably some lbs too. Emme- Your clothes are literally falling off you then! How cool is that? BigChief- ditching the maternity clothes is a HUGE victory! So is getting onto that track! The heat is nuts and I am tired of exercising indoors but I will keep on keeping on and maybe bike to the pool today as well. |
Great NSVs! Those make me feel so much better than the darn scale, anyways. ;-)
I had a pretty big one today. After much searching, deliberating and a few tears....I finally found a swimsuit and I wore it for the 1st time today at the Y. I felt a little scandalous at first. It is a Victoria Secret one, so I had some major booby going on. But the NSv part is that I wore regular scoop bottoms. No skirt! BigCheif- Is your hubby Army? Mine is Navy. He is Spec Ops, so I could never, ever work out near him or his guys. LOL I did lift weights with him in our garage 2 weeks ago, and that was pretty big for me. I love C25K. I'm not following it exactly, but I've been inspired by so many ladies who have done it, so now I am working towards being able to run 3 miles straight. I never did that even when I was young and in shape. Not a distance person. But I've slowly worked my way up to 2 miles. I just hate how I jiggle like mad when running. :-/ |
Bigchief: I waited 12 days. I think 2 weeks isn't too bad. But, we do get results pretty quickly without realizing it when it comes to inches.
Emme: That is very exciting!! I really do enjoy NSV's! h82sweat: Thank you! I agree that this heat is just causing us to hold stuff in. By this weekend it is supposed to cool down into the mid-80's for our area. Today it's supposed to get to 95, but the heat index is 100-110. I am so with you on being TIRED of this heat! I love the summer time, but this heat teamed with the humidity is killer!! I'm tired of not being able to ride my bike :( I would love to ride today, but this is the worst day of the week here for the heat. The next chance I get will be Monday. I am so going on a nice long ride monday!! Chickiechicks: Congrats!! That is quite exciting! I'm finally starting to get over my hesitation to wear bathing suits!! Today I have eaten allright so far. We did go out for lunch though. The rest of the day will be light foods. I hope to exercise later, but we might be going swimming and I think I'll just count that as my exercise today. My body is sore from the circuit training yesterday. Keep it movin' chickies!! :carrot: |
Lori I am sorry to hear that your daughter is saying mean things on FB. Children have no clue that what you put on that computer stays there, pictures, words everything. And to disgrace your name with lies is horrible. Someone has filled her head with all of that mess prayerfully she'll come say I'm sorry and make an apology on FB also. Just know that your faith will keep you strong. Don't let the enemy get to you
NSV for me would be that I have finally got my hiney back to walking (though this year it's on the treadmill) but it makes me feel great to walk so I'm happy :) Thanks Jiggle for the Nuggets, congrats on your NSV ... Emme congrats on your NSV :) BigChief that's great for 8 weeks :) tdi ... great NSV, I need to check that out about my thighs I hate that jiggly skin maybe it's better now. :) H82Sweat what a great NSV :) wow you ladies are amazing, keep up the great work  Hi to Everyone I missed  Ok it's been awhile since I've updated. I don't know what I weighed the last time I checked in here. I am at 171.4 as of this morning. My goal for this challenge is to get out of the 170's and stay there so hopefully next week I will make my goal since I keep bouncing back and forth this week :D. |

I'm doing okayish with food this week and with exercise, so we'll see how Monday goes when I weigh myself.
I wish everyone luck for the remainder of the week, especially the weekend! |
Reading all the NSVs was very uplifting!! It's proof that your plan is working no matter what the pace. The good thing is you are going in the right direction!! I had an awesome day yesterday. I weigh in tomorrow and it will be a good weigh in. I'm working very hard to meet my birthday goal.
Lemonzest - Of course it's okay if your participation is low. Come when you can and hopefully we will have said something that will keep you going!! Love2b150 - You will make it and because you made it you can stay there and get lower if you desire. Tdiprincess - Tell me is the bloat all gone?? It seems you have a pretty good handle on your plan and things are going to be well by the end of this challenge. Chickie - WORK THAT SWIMWEAR GIRL!!! I like NSVs too because they're very satisfying. H82Sweat - That's pretty awesome fitting your daughter's jeans. Now the two of you can share clothing. WOO HOO!! BigCheif - OOO the feeling of being able to put away the pregnancy clothes and wear those things you were wearing prior to the "invasion" of your body!!! P H A T - Hope the AC is back on or the weather is easing up. What irony...I moved south to get away from the snow, who knew I would escape the extreme heat too!!! It's hotter in the Midwest than it is in the South. Today's Nugget: No matter how your day was yesterday or the day before. Today is a new day to make things better. You may not be able to make everything better but make as much as you can better. Do something to make today a better day for yourself. Even if that means wearing something that makes you feel better!! |
Wow, it was so cool reading through all of the NSVs!! Congrats, everyone!! :) I hope we all have a great OP weekend!
