All is going good for me too. I'm staying within my daily calorie range and I'm getting my workouts in. I won't be weighing myself until the end of the month so I'm not sure where my weight is right now.

I hope everyone has a great OP day!

WELCome! .. Im glad the beginning of the challenge is going well for you :)

PHAT- Your doing great & liking your job is so important, you can do this!

Walked 32min & had 1285 calories. Ate on plan, made fresh sweet potatoes for the first time. I peeled them and cooked them til soft, then I mashed them like potatoes. I didn't add anything to them, put in a container for tomorrow. I did taste them, they are fine as is, won't need to add anything. I'm used to eating whole food with no seasoning, the natural flavor tastes so good to me. No added calories or sodium either! Tonight's dinner was simple cause I didn't have anything prepared. Skinless chicken w/ caraway seed & 1 serving of carrots. I need to buy everything I need tomorrow, so i can make some of these recipes I found, like slow cooker chicken chili!
This is the third day of adding more variety & I love it. I don't crave anything yet, so far I've been feeling full and don't even want anything other than natural food. Very satisfying & I lost .8lbs!

thank you :) & those sweet potatoes sound good, You might have to inbox me the recipe.. I would love to cook them up & try them .. :) make sure you update us on trying different stuff.. i need more variety myself :)

I ended up having a maui wowy burger yesterday (teriyaki sauce, pineapple and bacon mmm) for dinner which I know put me a bit over calories but hey, have to indulge every now and then, right? Of course, this could have helped with the water weight this morning, hehe.

I didn't do traditional exercise yesterday, either. I did do a lot of outdoor work, though. The day before I did my weights and a 7 mile hike. Love hiking!

Today, I'm hoping to stay OP but won't freak out if I go a little over calories...I may just need some chocolate! :D I'm hoping to get in a work out, too.

Welcome to all!

Fruit- Sounds great! I love sweet potatoes- I too don't like to add seasonings to my food, I love the natural taste. Especially sweet potatoes! They're so sweet and I never understood people piling on the butter/brown sugar! I'm glad you're liking the variety!

Envelope- I hear you, I'm exhausted right now (though, as I mentioned, TOM haha). Hope you can catch up on some zzz's!

Gettinfit- I may switch to doing a monthly weigh in too! I find myself obsessing too much with the scale. Thanks for the idea!

TDI- Woo-hoo! I love when you feel clothes loosening up! I took glucosamine for a while and did eventually notice some improvement in how my joints felt. Hope it works for you too!

Phat- Those cookies sound good! I love OP indulgences! So happy you're enjoying the job!

Jiggle- :carrot::carrot::carrot: Awesome!! I'm so happy for you! You're kicking butt!

thank you hunnY! i hope your ToM is quick & painless.. stay strong, those urges can be tricky during that time!

Good Morning Everyone.
Had another good day yesterday. Stayed on plan with my calories but didn't do any working out. I am feeling good about my progress.

Today's Nugget: Take a moment at some point today and look at yourself without clothes and embrace yourself where you are on the way to where you are going. Take some before pictures if you haven't already. There are days that you don't think you are making progress and if you look at pictures of yourself along the way, then you will see that your work is truly paying off. Having before and after pictures is great especially when you get to goal. It will also encourage someone else when they find themselves where you are and not sure if it will work.

Let's make it a great and fun day today. :high:

thank you for that little nugget of love & inspiration :)

yo!! this week is going great. ive been watering myself like crazy.. i drank 110oz of water yesterday.. i was craving it.. I stayed going to pee but oh well :) im having a good OP week.. hopefully this weekend stays OP for me..

does anyone have any good low- calorie recipe books? I need some insight & variety .. trying to spruce up my meals with more flavor & choices

also I need some substitutes for salt/sodium.......

tdiprincess 07-08-2011 11:51 AM

Phat- I have found the easiest thing for me to get recipes is just start googling. Google -healthy, low cal meals or something along those lines. You will get some great ideas for free! and no clutter!
Usually what I do is make the recipe once. If it's a keeper then I put it in my own binder. If it was just okay I keep it bookmarked but I don't print it or anything.
I've even started going through some of the recipe books I have and doing that. Then when I get through the book, I goodwill it or give it away. I have less clutter that way!
just my .02! :D

jigglefree 07-08-2011 02:27 PM

P H A T - Try using Mrs Dash. They have several flavors and are really good.

Ekicna 07-08-2011 04:08 PM

I'm finally getting back on track. I haven't been eating too well since I made my goal. I ran/walked 1.81 miles this morning. I got sidetracked checking out a preschool on my street so I came back home afterwards instead of finishing my run.

k15g15 07-08-2011 08:25 PM

I have lost one more pound as of today. I have been as hungry as a bear since I started running, but I have been staying in calories.

Thanks jiggle for all your tips!

envelope 07-08-2011 10:50 PM

My daughters Asthma has flaired up the last few days, making her cough off and on all night. Last night was slightly better...maybe tonight we will all get a solid nights sleep.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

fruitlady 07-09-2011 12:27 AM

k15- running makes me extra hungry too, it burns alot of calories.

PHAT- All i do is peel the sweet potatoes, put on a plate in the microwave, cook until soft. Then you can make them how you want, all I did was mash them. I like them w/ nothing added, but you can add cinnamon or brown sugar & butter too, but that's extra calories.

Corinne- Thanks, yeh, those sweet potatoes were tasty without adding anything to them. Yum!

Walked 30min & had 1192 calories. Lost 1lb. again, eating foods that I know did keep me thinner & I lost weight fast eating, are worth eating. I'd rather be happy & have the variety, even if I lose slow.

LemonZest 07-09-2011 03:24 AM

I hope I can join this challenge! I can't really afford (and didn't really like) the diet plan I was on anymore and since I neurotically count calories regardless of what I'm doing, I thought this was a good free option to continue on with.

Before joining 3FC I was at about 215 pounds in May, so I've been doing pretty well with weight loss so far.

My primary Labor Day goal will be to be healthier and feel better about the way I look. As far as weight goes, I'd like to be around 175-180 by then.

jigglefree 07-09-2011 07:01 AM

Good morning everyone!! It's a great day and I'm looking forward to a good workout this morning. Stayed on task yesterday and I'm weighing in right before my workout. I'll let you all know how my week was.

LemonZest - Of course you can join us so hop on and join the fun.
Friutlady - Glad you are doing something that is working for you and can be happy with. That one pound is motivating!!
Envelope - I hope your evening went better and that you daughter had a good night's rest.
k15g15 - How do you run, starve and stay in your calories? That was too difficult for me so I stopped running so I wasn't so hungry. It may work better for me when I get to goal.
Ekicna - Since you know what to do getting back on track shouldn't be too difficult so you can maintain. I think I asked before but do you have a weight range for while you're in maintenance or are you planning to stick with 110?

Today's Nugget: There will be days you just don't feel like working out or eating healthy. Make sure those days aren't one after the other. We all know that some days are going to be better than others. On the first bad day come here, talk about it so you can get some encouragement and support to get back on task.

envelope 07-09-2011 08:50 AM

I did sleep better last night, I bet tonight will be even better.

I am going for a 4 mile jog in a little while. I love how I feel when I am jogging. I never thought I would ever be able to jog. I decided to give c25k about 11 months ago and was amazed at the results.

Jiggle - You are right, there are days when we do not feel like doing what we should to continue on our weightloss/healthy living journey. I try my best to just ignore the feeling and do what I should anyways. I know that some days I may not, but I also know I have you all to help keep me accountable and to keep inspiring me.

fruitlady - When you said, "I'd rather be happy & have the variety, even if I lose slow." That was a WONDERFUL NSV!!!

Welcome - Lemon!

k15g15 - I make sure I eat a lot of lean protein and frutis and vegis. Yesterday after my jog I was starving, so I ate 2 medium cucumbers and that did the trick. I also added in Unprocessed Wheat Bran to my diet after learning about it from the Dr. Phil show. It is a fiber that your body does not process. So it is a fiber, which is good for you, fills you up, and it is low in cals. I just put it in my yogurt.

jigglefree 07-09-2011 09:45 AM

I'm down 2.8 pounds for the week. If I can keep this up I will be in ONEderland by the end of the month.

Let's get it done ladies!!!

k15g15 07-09-2011 10:28 AM

Good Morning! I hope everyone has a fabulous Saturday and marches towards their goals!

Jiggle- You nugget for today is so true. If you have a bad day then pick yourself up and get right back on plan. I also have had lots of encouragment from the 3FC community.

Envelope- Thanks for the hints. This running thing is a new animal to me.

LemonZest-I noticed your profile. We are the same height and have the same goal :) How did you choose your goal number, fellow amazon!:)

I really hope this doesn't sound judgmental, but I picked 165 because having been there before that was kind of my threshold for thinness without looking like a lamp post. I think us taller girls look a little odd when we try to get down to the lower end of our ideal weight range.

tdiprincess 07-09-2011 03:28 PM

Jigglefree: Thank you for the daily nugget. Oddly enough today I don't feel like eating healthy! LOL.
I had a treat out at a Tim Horton's. I think I will eat semi-healthy today. I'm about to have some fruit and some veggies. Maybe some cottage cheese. Then later on I may have another small treat or something. But I will definitely stay within my calorie range today.
:carrot:

Hello all. Its nice to see everyone doing so well. I've had a great week. I've been sticking to my goal of "no weighing". It's been hard but I'm not going to weigh until July 29. I did measure my waist and it's down 1.25".

Have a great evening everyone.
