No time to snack, and meals with strangers tend to be sensible (in terms of portion control, that is.) I have time before I need to head to the airport, so I am debating - walk at the gym, or explore downtown a little by foot. (I have a second choice, too. Healthy breakfast or blueberry pancakes. As much as I love pancakes, I have a feeling I would be heading in the wrong direction, and as such, I cannot tempt myself - even if I *tell* myself I won't eat the whole plate.)

Aside from that, you guys are all doing so wonderfully!
Spinach - with your running, are you aiming for a goal? Years ago when I got down in to the 160's (an yes, I let many bad decisions put all the weight plus some back on), I set goals of races - mostly 5K or 10K charity runs & walks. I'm thinking I might start that again this spring. It gives me something to look forward to when I am training and/or getting bored on the treadmill.

Manders- what program are you using to track calories at restaurants? A friend of mine mentioned one, but I haven't checked any of them out yet.
I use livestrong for my tracker. But I always, always check the nutritional information on the restaurants website to verify what's on there is accurate. I find it hilarious that the web team says they check everything, want it to be all accurate and won't put a verified tag on things that aren't correct. And then you find something that's all the same (item and serving size) and there are several different calorie contents, all noting they are verified! If a restaurant I go to doesn't have nutritional information, I look it up on livestrong for comparable items. Then when I actually have the plate in front of me, before I take a bite, I take a good look at the size, proportions of the ingredients, etc. That tells me if what I've found is in the ballpark. Unless I feel that it's over what's on livestrong, I'll log it in as what I've found.

Glad your trip went well!

Morning all! Hope everyone is feeling good about the progress they're making. I know I am. Just hope it continues!

I inputted my daily food last night and feel like I'll be eating a horse today! I have a feeling the 2 cups of broccoli for dinner will turn into 1 because I won't be that hungry and I'm not sure if I have 2 in my frig.

- Breakfast: 1 serving of Rice Krispies (130), 1 medium banana (105) and 3/4 cup Blue Diamond Unsweetened Chocolate Almond Milk (33-3/4). 268-3/4 calories total.

- Lunch: 2 slices Sara Lee 45 calorie wheat bread, 1 slice Oscar Meyer roasted turkey (30), 1 wedge LC garlic Swiss (35), 1 slice of tomato (4), 1/4 cup baby arugula (5), 1/2 serving baby carrots (17-1/2), 1 serving honey mustard pretzels, 1 medium orange and 1 container of light strawberry yogurt (90). 445-1/2 calories total.

- Dinner: 1 serving homemade red beans and rice (313), 2 cups broccoli (62) and 1 serving soy sauce (5). 380 calories total.

- Evening snack: 1 chocolate chip meringue (24) crushed up over 1 serving cheesecake Jell-o (made with 1% milk - 80). 104 calories total.

1198-1/4 calories total for the day

Regular workout today.

Have a great one!

Spinach- im sorry you have been stuck too! It does comfort a bit to know I'm not the only one though.

Had a great lifting workout and a very Half a$$ recumbent bike cardio workout.

After yesterday I realized I need to go back to calorie counting. I had made big
changes in what I've been eating. Addin huge portions of veggies and fruit. And cutting out processed food. Which helped me lose some weight and I've never felt healthier in my life. But I think that I won't be able to get through this stall until I start logging and counting calories.

I have an iPhone app that I love, so I don't know why I'm dreading this. Logging is easy. I think what I'm dreading is the measuring and weighing.

So I'll start logging calories on here I think. I haven't decoded a calories goal. I think I'll do 1300 if no to light gym. 1500 on days I'm logging more than 3 miles for a run.

Yep, I did my first 5k last Thanksgiving and I'm planning on doing one on St Pats! I'm hoping I can be in a place to do a 10K on Thanksgiving this year.

Natamers ~ speed doesn't matter in a 5k. I ran with a friend who is a "runner" who was very sweet to keep my pace, slooow and steady (about a 12 minute mile). We weren't the last people across the finish line... but back there! And I swear to you it felt like first
I did the same increase plan! Now that I'm back into it I'm adding a tenth of a mile each run. Back up to 1.8 and it's feeling really good.

I'm in! I currently weigh 187. My goal is to lose at least 5 lbs till St. Patty's Day. I'm also counting calories. I'm on the treadmill every other day. Jogging 2 minutes & walking 1 minute for 30 minutes. My goal is to also run 1 mile without stopping. Hopefully I can do that.

Lori My whole family is short, but I'm the shortest at only 5 foot haha! I don't mind it sometimes, but I feel like it's harder to get to a weight that looks good on me!

Northern Scale did not cooperate, so I'm definitely leaning on you guys today haha. My exercise has also not been happening, but that's more due to my laziness/depression than not having time to do it.

jiggle Could be stress catching up with you...hang in there.

So I was really wanting to keep up with my pound a week loss, usually I see it on my Friday morning weigh in (I don't weigh Wed or Thurs) but today it's only 200 grams/ .4 of a pound. I know I could still see a loss Sat or Sunday, but sadly enough, seeing that loss today has been one of the only positive thoughts in my week.
I'm going to have a challenging weekend calories wise. Tonight is the Chinese Lantern Festival which we also know as "food on a stick" festival because there are so many different food vendors with amazing meats and other things on sticks. I don't want to give up this tradition but I know I have to be careful as there is definitely a lot of oil and other not so great things. Any tips?

Sounds like you are going with people? If so and they're willing to share, you could split a few of the sticks with someone or take a bite of each one they get.

And I would assume you'll be walking around the festival...hello exercise!

Lovely day again, 60 & sunny. Made sure to take a walk for 30min, before we left I rode the bike for 25min. My calories were 150 over my limit, 1425. I bought yoplait chocolate eclair, yogurt delights. I had to try one with some fat free whipped cream. It tasted like chocolate pudding, yum! They are 100 calories & 1.5g. of fat, not bad. I've been doing so much lately with housework & exercise, I feel like the energizer bunny. Time to finally sit & watch T.V!

My pleasure! And being the extraordinarily lazy person that I am...ambling totally counts!

SPINACH - I know you will knock this next 5K out of the park! And if you are doing a 5K now, you can certainly handle the 10K in November!

As for me, I never made it home yesterday. Got bumped, took a nice little voucher, and stayed in a hotel. Downside, I didn't see my family, the gym wasn't open at 6 like it should have been and I don't have time to wait, and I had to eat a so-so dinner last night. Upside, once I know what my job situation is like for next year, maybe we'll take a nice trip to the Caribbean with the voucher. (Yes, it's that good that it will cover my airfare there. )

Hopefully, I am home by noon as scheduled, we'll pick up my baby from daycare, and if the weather is nice, head to the park for a walk.

Have you guys seen the guy from the Doctors show promoting his N.E.A.T. theory? It's nothing new, just a cool name, but I've been trying to apply the principles in my daily routine.

Alright all, must get ready for breakfast and try to catch the 7:30 a.m shuttle. May not post tomorrow, but should be back by Sunday at the latest!

Hi All! Sorry I have been MIA - have missed you all greatly! First TOM snuck up on me a week early yesterday. My weight was up this morning, but I am hoping it will go back down in a few days.

I have not been recording anything this week. I have some personal matters giong on, and between the strees, lack of sleep & TOM by body is going crazy! I need to get more water in me too! Just been a bad week.

If in the end I gain, I will just have to pick myself up and start over!

I will go back and read everyone's post soon so I can see how great you all are doing!

Have a great day.

Monday's WI: 189.6
Todays' WI: 188.5

Considering the short week and the fact that my exercie wasn't where it should be, I will GLADLY take a 1.1 lb loss!

Going out of town for the long weekend, so will probably be offline after today until Monday. I think I have a pretty good plan to stay OP with food, except for a fabulous cheat meal we have planned for Sunday night...the best little authentic Italian restaurant with the best pizza ever! It's a must do when in that neck of the woods, and totally worth it

Have a great weekend, everyone!
