Good Morning everyone. Well I want to say thank you , each one for the kind words. I'm resting today also do to my knees. So far the pain is low so i will do a little around the house and lay down breaks proping them up. I keep saying i'm not having knee surgery. Ive heard good reports and bad reports about them so i'm trying not to do them. I am so happy with my weight lost so far. Just want so much to break the 200 mark by the end of this year. Sure would be nice. I really would have to dance with joy. :dance: Everyone have a good day and will meet again soon. :wave::dust:

I was MIA yesterday, super busy at work and not feeling well :(. I might regret it, but I took today off. Going to have a ton to do tomorrow, but I'm just feeling so run down, I figure one day off to rest up now is better than days or weeks of dragging @ss through one of my busiest times of year. Went to bed at 9:00 last night and slept until 10:00 today! Still managed to get in 30 minutes of my biggest loser sculpting DVD yesterday (using light hand weights.) Just didn't have the energy for any major cardio or heavy weights. Calories within range. I'll see how I feel later today as far as exercise, will try to do some yoga at least. Sorry no personals right now, I need to go back and catch up on this thread! Do know I am thinking about you guys a lot though! Couldn't do this without all this great support!! |
natamars- sounds like we have alot in common, my original goal weight was 125, but I just kept losing & changing my goal weight til I hit 104lbs , then I had to gain a little back cause I lost my periods for 11mo. So here I am at 109lbs & periods have been back for 4 mo now, I liked 105lbs the best for my height, I felt lean and more energetic. I would gain weight if I ate 1800 calories a day, so i stick to 1170-1270 for losing weight & 1300-1350 to maintain. I think it's my age & the normal slow down in metabolism that requires a lower calorie amount. Remember, as you lose more weight and weigh less, you don't need as many calories.
Rode the exercise bike for 70min. total today & went 15mi. I needed to do a little extra because I kinda ate too much. 2900 calories is sure to do some damage. It seems as soon as I hit 108 or 109lbs, i over eat again & can't just stay there and maintain. I can't stay away from chocolate or any sweets for more than 2 days. I don't know where my willpower went, but I have to get it back! Two days of clean eating at 1170-1270 cal. should get the scale back down, if I don't gain to much. |
~Jiggle~Weights are great~Walking....& with every pound u lose eventually tummy & back rolls will start to fade away & U will reshape.~My tummy to this day drives me nuts so I do crunches (to wimpy to do situps~LOL) I do 120 a day 60 2x's ~5 days a week.~To help with tummy...Which will also help with the back also...Hope that is helpful. <3 YA! As for me today~I am on Time of month ~LUCKY ME~LOL~Anyways weighed 133.6 right before I started so that was cool ~back close to my 132~But If I start going lose crazy again I am gonna up my calories~I like the size I am ~just need a little more toning & to always maintain & size 2's are hard to find...the smallest our local walmart sells is 4's~and there to big...~I can't wait for yard sales~COME ON WARM WEATHER! I could kick myself for not buying more 2's last yard sale season ~my daughter is in 2's also & she is taking them all over & Wearing belts with everything is so uncomfy after they are way to big to me~but she is out in Public more than me cause of school & she is the kid So momma gets the too big jeans~LOL...Oh well...definetly nothing to complain about I guess....My old 20,22's seem like a bad dream now days & I am thankful my children has lost weight too.We was all so unhealthy.~anyways I am blabbing...I am sleepy.. & I am cranky..Not a great combo~LOL! I need to go back and read the latest posts but didn't want to "not post" so sorry if I don't recognize anyone...
Old Boss asked me if I could help him out with some typing and such so I went in today and spent almost a full day at the office. I ate a light breakfast and took a healthy lunch and snacks. Couldn't get my snacks in because I was trying to complete the tasks I was given. Come home, we have wicked weather on the way. Very wicked. So, no exercising and no cooking dinner. More important to take steps to keep us safe. It was a wild ride for several hours, setting up our "safe room" and tending to the dogs, but it looks like we made it through OK, much better than others throughout our area. I'm a Wednesday Weigher and I peeked this morning before getting in the shower. I saw a gain. I'm not stressed about it. I've walked 55 Miles this month. The scale may not show me a loss in pounds but I'm sure I'll see a continued loss in inches. That may not help me with the Valentines day challenge but it doesn't break my determination. The scale will catch up in it's own time. For tonight, we are safe and comfortable and that's what's most important. Others tonight were not so fortunate and will be dealing with far bigger issues than a few pounds of weight loss. My prayers go out to them. |
Tuesday: 1170 calories. Rest day.
Had intended for it to be a high-calories day but really wasn't hungry so I didn't force myself to eat. If I hadn't been eating clean, I defintiely would have had more - shows you the difference between true hunger and just wanting something. It is snowing here AGAIN so I'm not sure whether I'll make it to the gym tonight or not. Have a great day! |

Did my workout and doing good on calories. I really need to have a good weigh in on Saturday. I know it's only Wednesday but I have to get myself worked up for it.
Hoe everyone is dropping every pound they want to drop. Gotta get back to work working on a HUGEMUNGUS project but needed a break. |
Weighed-in this morning at 122.8-- no loss, but no gain either. I'll take it!
Feeling pretty sick this morning w/ a cold :( Going to try and do a short 3 mile run before work. Ugh. Nice job everyone! |

*hangs head* My boss took me lunch today. I had diet coke - and .... a BLT sandwich! There are the majority of my calories - after inputting them into my database - that was about a 550 calorie SANDWICH! But oh, it was good. I guess I will be skipping a snack, and having a VERY lean dinner! |

Meg: Don't feel too guilty...I'm not sure where your boss took you to eat, but I'm sure you could have made a MUCH poorer choice than a BLT sandwich!! FPSJ: congrats on no gain! Hope you feel better. I'm getting over some crud too. Nat & Groove: I feel you on the crappy weather! We're actually getting a bit of a break around here. Above zero AND no snow! Usually it's one or the other in January around these parts. Jiggle: sounds like you're staying focused, WTG! Lori: I can't imagine going into a store and not being able to find things that fit because they're too BIG...wow! Fruit: I can't even stay away from chocoloate for ONE day...I have just learned to limit myself to very small quantities. It's really hard sometimes. As for me: stayed home yesterday due to being sick and had a pretty low cal day (1250), just wasn't feeling very hungry. I did 30 minutes of elliptical/weights (total), pretty leisurely pace with both. Back at work today, glad I had stayed home yesterday because while it was still busy today, I was much more rested and less grumpy!! Today I should be around 1500 cals. Did some cleaning on the deck and walkway scraping up compacted snow (since it's warm enough for it not to be the consistency of CONCRETE, lol!) Quite the workout...feeling a little sore already. Might do some yoga and call it good for exercise today. Later! |

northern- chocolate & peanut butter are my favorites. Last night I tried Lind't excellence 90% cocoa for the first time, only had 2 squares( it was delicious) w/ alot of unsalted dry roasted peanuts, well I was sick all night.
Only gained 6 ounces from all those peanuts and chocolate, but I also worked my butt off yesterday trying to minimize the damage. Today had 1490 calories due to a soft chocolate chip cookie( 130 cal) I had to have after breakfast( I'm so stupid). I ate clean all day except for that, why did I mess it up? I think I'm addicted to sweets! Had my husband take a bag full of tempting food to work with him so I would'nt eat it while he was at work. I do that, i eat after he leaves, when I'm alone. Did 40min & went 9 mi. on the bike today, I don't know what to expect on the scale tomorrow. |
Wednesday: 1145 calories. 45 minutes on the tredamill(25 min jogging), 3 miles total
I am SO proud of myself for going to the gym in the snow tonight. They say we could get another 9" tonight - make it stop! Northern, you are doing so great - sounds like you are really in tune with your body! rainbow, good luck on the weigh-in. megems, your lunch does not sounds bad at all. sounds like you did a great job managing your day and making the lunch out work. fpsj, so funny that for you a 3 mile run is short! i'm trying to work up to that. thinking of signing up for a 5k run at the Bronx Zoo in April. jiggle, I have a feeling you're going to have a fabulous week on the scale! megems - exercise twice in one day - amazing. see you all tomorrow. |
Exactly the same as my last weigh in on Sunday, but I started my TOM today so I guess I'm ok with it. And I kept from eating the house the last two days so that is a plus.

K15g15 - The few days right around my period starting are always my biggest challenge. I get some pretty serious food cravings. It is great that you have been successful the last few days.

Northern & Natamars ~ He took me to a sports bar! So, yes the options were few. Not going to lie, there was a grilled chicken salad on the menu - but it read "lettuce, carrots, cucumbers & grilled chicken" ~ I like a little more in my salad (tomatos, onion etc), and that just didn't sound appealling! I ended up not eating dinner, simply because I got home late from the gym, and was too exhausted to cook! I don't normally skip a meal, but I just wasn't hungry - must have been all that bacon having a party in my tummy! :D I used to be the person who could weigh herself once a week, and be fine with that, but I have been doing it each day. I am finding it keeps me accountable more - although, I know a daily weighin can fluctuate. It said I was down almost 3 pounds from Tuesday (weekly weigh in day). I called the scale a big fat liar and got in the shower! I know it isn't accurate cause I ate so little yesterday (still got in about 1350 in calories though). Anyhow - hope everyone has a fabulous Thursday!!! |
Well dagnabbit, TOM showed up this morning. I'm debating if I should weigh or not. I will be so sad if I'm not at or a pound away from my VDay goal. I should have know it was coming because I was getting those cyclic cravings yesterday and last night. So I had some tortilla chips...probably about 3 actual servings. Anywho, I'm gonna see how I feel Monday morning for my weigh in and decide what I'll do then.
Northern - I think shoveling was a major calorie burner. You should feel pretty good about doing all the other stuff along with the shoveling. Natamars - I'm proud you went in the snow too. I would have been watching the snow from the window like I did a couple weeks ago. Had it not been for the treadmill I have at the house I wouldn't have gotten in any workouts. Fruitlady - I think you did well and not too much damage to boot...WTG!! K15 - I know how you feel. I'm feeling like I need to empty out the fridge and hibernate til it passes. Megems - Chalk it up to the game. I don't do daily weigh ins because I would be mad at the scale all the time. Let's have a great day and make it count towards our health. |

Damn those cravings...sometimes I wonder why I don't crave/gain weight during - maybe there is something wrong with me! Lori YOU ARE AWESOME! Just wanted to say that :) ~Weighed this morning, but wasn't able to "go" before the shower if you all get my drift - so along with that and the fact I basically ate enough to be two dinners last night, I think I'm heavier, and definitely happy to take the 65.7kg/144.8 pound weight I saw! Would like to poop now please. Ate too much for dinner but it was all pretty healthy stuff...just basically ate two portions because I skipped breakfast or a proper lunch..not a good idea! My tummy was so sore because it was so full! Another dinner out tonight, at some food court...hoping there's a Japanese option or something. |

I'm just having a real hard time for the past 2 weeks, can't seem to keep my calories under 1300. I go over everyday, sometimes way over. I just keep gaining weight, i know how it goes for me, when I get close to 2 yrs. of maintaining, I gain it all back. I've done it twice before, so i think it's time for some self control, I don't want to gain it all back for a third time. I don't want to be a failure again! I've been doing extra exercise everyday to try to make up for all the extra calories, today I rode the bike for 56 min. total & went 11mi. I know the scale will be higher tomorrow, so I better get back to basics & start dieting again. I know what works for me, i just have to do it!

Fruit: I have those weeks too. Last week I couldn't seem to keep my calories under 1600, but am doing better this week. I have faith that you will NOT gain it all back this time...you have come too far! Groove: congrats on the loss and I hope you see onederland real soon! It's such a great feeling :) Rainbow: do they sell prunes at the food court? LOL. Jiggle: I usually avoid weighing during TOM...if I do, I try to take any gain with a grain of salt. Lori: you continue to inspire! I can't wait until I get to my "final" size and can start buying clothes for 'real.' Don't get me wrong, I love buying smaller and smaller sizes, but it's kind of depressing knowing I will only wear them for a few months. As for me, had another pretty good day, around 1500 calories. Did 30 minutes wii fit (cardio stuff) and 20 minutes yoga. Tomorrow is WI day. Hoping I'm closer to the 180's!! |

I can't find my motivation to get back on the elliptical machine!!! I go to Vegas in 3 weeks, so I need to really start kicking some butt. You guys are all such an amazing group of girls, so inspiring on a daily basis!!!! keep up the good work!!! |

Slow going for this chick! Down about a pound to 190.9. One more pound to go to get out of the 190's at least....so I will take it.
I think I will keep on with what I'm doing until the end of this challenge, then see if I need to re-tweak my plan a bit. I know I won't be losing 3 lbs/week like I did when I was 270-some lbs, but this pound a week is just a little too slow for my liking. 1.5-2 would be so much more satisfying! Well, it's Friday! Did good yesterday, but didn't get nearly as much cardio in as I would have like, was going for a little over an hour, but could only fit in 45 minutes. But that's alright, every little bit helps. jiggle & rainbow ~ yeah, just chalking up that BLT, it was so yummy! I try not to feel too guitly when I eat a high calorie meal (that isn't mostly whole grain etc.) - It's going to happen. I just pushed myself more! I weighed in again this morning to see the day 2 effect of that BLT, and my scale says I am still down 3 pounds from Tuesday. So we will see what my weekly weigh-in brings on Tuesday!! fruit ~ YOU CAN DO IT!!! If you anything like me, when you reach your goal weight/comfortable weight, you lose the motivation a little cause you reached your goal! Just remember it's a way of life now. I have lost and gained almost all my life, and I am TIRED of it!!! That's why I love you ladies - you all are an inspiration! Northern ~ Normally when I lose weight (no matter the diet), I am a 1 pound a week girl. It is frustrating! You work your tush off (or in my case, trying to build one), and one flippin' pound. It will make you feel defeated!! I read somewhere, you can jump start a plateau by adding in an extra 30 minutes of cardio a week into your workout! Maybe try switching up routine! Maybe your body just needs jarred! This week has been pretty good - I am a little worried about this weekend. Saturday, my fiancee's friends are coming over which means probably appetizer buffett and chili or pizza. Then Sunday his family is coming over to celebrate February birthdays and do some wedding planning. They are making lasagna! So, I am just going to have to really watch portion control. I think too, I might eat a really high fiber/protien snack before both dinners that way I won't eat as much. I am beginning to worry that I am going to fear eating any foods that I have no control over. Which would help me stay on plan - but I know that isn't life. |
Hey everyone, had a really bad night. Spoke with my aunt and she was giving me the report on my mom and it made me very sad. So I cried all day yesterday and made my husband go to the store for chips and ice cream. I ate it but it didn't taste like I remember. So I ate some animal crackers, neither of which made me feel any better but both of which took me over my calorie limit, I'm not sure but it could have been 400 or more too many. The good thing is I didn't eat the whole pint. So today I got back on the horse went to the gym, climbed on the eliptical and it took all the I had to do those 30 minutes. I've been eating healthy calories today so that I can reel it back in from last night. Another good thing is I can't eat while I'm crying so that saved me from myself. :lol:

Fruitlady~ U do U ROCK! I aint never saw u get back up to 173 or even close girl~so give yourself some credit cutesy fruitsy! (hehehe My new nickname for ya!) (OH I Must confess I came on to say I snuck in my size "0" bag today~I have 2 clothing items in it LOL ~both are American eagle outfitters brand~one a non stretchy spring/summer skirt with side zip and clasp closure ~the other non stretchy jeans~The skirt freaking fit!(it is not the one shown in my new avatar pic~That is leggings with an attached skirt~i will take a pic in it soon though.)Anyways.. I nearly fell over! The jeans~~well let's just say...I Got to get more toned cause they are still way too tight~Never would wear them that way at home or in public....But I did get them on & buttoned~But could bearly breath so NO on the jeans yes on the skirt ~COME ON WARM WEATHER!) I am still sticking in the 130's~Mostly 133 to 136~But I am finally getting off my "TOM" So we will see.~I think the toning exercises are working~FINGERS CROSSED! Anyways 2's are still my best fit.(Not complaining) Just can't believe I was thinking of stopping at a size 8 causeI always thought it was my personal dream size & once I got there I was not happy with me yet & needed some work still. I must admit I am super happy now ~Just a little toning left to do & maintaining always of course. ~Off to bed I am so tired ~HUGS TO ALL HAVE A GREAT SATURDAY! I went over my cals yesterday, but my weekly average is still on target. I definately had too much sodium bc my fingers are puffy and my weight is up. I am sure it will go back down later.

Thanks for the love ladies and I'm waiting on some good news. The dr didn't have any good news so I'm praying that God will have a better answer. Hopefully I don't sound awful but if her time is over I'm okay with it for the most part. Of course I will miss my mom because she has been a huge part of my life everyday for the past 46 years, even though she's in Illinois and I'm in Georgia. It won't be an easy transition but she has imparted some awesome character, wisdom and love in all nine of her children. She has had an awesome quality of life and her latter days should not be any different. I don't want her to be alive just for the sake of not being dead.
I'm doing pretty good today. I haven't over indulged because Monday is the day I check to see if I'm at goal. Hopefully TOM will be over. It's going to be a weekend filling myself with water and staying within my calorie range. I really want to exceed my goal for this challenge. |
