OK, it has been forever since I was a "calorie counter" but over the months and months of trying to get to my goal I have slowly turned back into a calorie counter. I did VERY good doing that 2 years ago and got very close to goal weight then. Then I slacked off (BIG TIME) and gained 20lbs back. So I am here again trying to reach that elusive goal weight. I am CLOSE and have lost some with ALLI, then just "being careful of what I eat" but essentially calorie counting works best. I have also bumped up my physical exercise (something I didnt do last time). So I am back and I am determined! Hope you'll have me.

Hey Irish- Thanks for starting up a new thread. LOL My co-worker just finished telling me Happy May Day, and then I came up to my office and saw your post and went, oh yeah it is May. Yeah I have heard about the Depo shot. My friends all gained weight and were miserable with it. LOL I felt like a teenager walking out the clinic with all the pamphlets on BC, and options! LOL! I haven't gotten the opportunity to watch your vid, but will do it once I get home. My comp at work is finicky. I am on a dinosaur at work. LOL! Thanks for the hugs. They were needed!

GrammyL- How ya feeling today?
I recieved my 6WBMO, it was a surprise, I saw on the UPS website yesterday that it was going to be rescheduled to get delivered today, but I guess they changed their minds. I can't wait to go home and pop it open.

Gaia- MY dad has High BP, but has controlled it in the last couple of years. I do know it can be anything. But the Dr.'s are convinced it's from the BC pills. I was put on a higher dosage last year and since then my BP has increased. LOL

Speaking of which I have an appt with my MD on the 15th. More than likely I will have to be put on BP pills, to stablize the pressure. But will not have to be on those things for the rest of my life. Thank goodness!!

Zenor- Yeah the IUD scares me, and also weirds me out too. I am still researching my other options.

Beliter- Don't worry the lbs will budge. It also may mean you need to tweak things around. Maybe add a little more exercise, or eat more calories.

Stilltryin- Of course we'll have you!!! back!

Zenor ~ That weight will come right back off, its all the stress your under. Don't remember if I congratulated you on your Sis's new baby that’s on the way. I am 40 and I can't image having a child at my age but people do it all the time. Although most can't image having them at 19 either. I had my young and so I am a grandma young. I was 37 (few weeks before my birthday) when Jose was born. Happy belated anniversary.

Tinky ~ French fries are my favorite food on earth. DH laughs at me because I always tell him don't make me any because I don't want any. Lets say he knows I will eat them so he always makes extra and yes someone eats them. LOL!

I am not sure when you plan on having children but isn’t their an insert now that they can put in your uterus or something that doesn’t have to be removed until you want to have children? I seem to remember seeing a commercial on it. I had problems with my moods on the pill and DH was relieved when we decided not to have any more children and I had my tubs tied. Is your blood pressure getting better now. You are definitely to young to have those kinds of problems.

Gaia ~ I don't know why but I knew you were from the south. Red-eye gravy, never heard of it until I watched a program on FoodTV that talked about it. I think it might have been the country fried steak and gravy you talked about that tipped me off. Mac n cheese is something I have a major problem with and avoid because I just can't stop once I start. Grits are yummy to, my Dad is a huge fan. Actually I like all the food you talk about.

I was told Smoke was full TWH but he didn’t have papers and the vets that have cared for him are positive he had Percheron in him. They said TWH are not that bulky. He had to have a size 3 shoe, workhorse size.

Coldbrightday ~ CONGRATS on getting into school. There is definitely a shortage in that area. No, no regrets for stress eating at all. My YDD and her BF couldn’t believe how I was packing away the food because I don’t normally eat very much. LOL!

Beliter ~ and thank you. He was definitely a family member, my DD's always introduced him as their brother. People always had to go out and visit with Smoke when they came over in the summer. He loved it.

Irish ~ You sounded fantastic and don’t get why they didn’t choose you. Make sure you try out next year and I bet you’ll get in.

Stilltryin ~

Today is better. I only broke down twice yesterday after I got out of work. Once on the way home and the other time when I visited his grave. I actually yelled at him and told him he was a stupid horse and that this wasn't fair. LOL! Now, my pony hates me. He is still calling off and on for Smoke and doesn't want me near him. He needs time to heal also. My DD's mini keeps comforting me however, he is a little nut. He keeps sticking his nose up to my face for kisses.

Today I still don't have any desire to eat but my tummy is telling when its time to eat. Nothing sounds good but that sometimes happens on this program I am on because we eat every couple hours.

This morning I cleared all the shelves and refrigerator of things I can't have until I reach goal. Last night I waited to long to eat and then I got into things I shouldn't. This morning I decided if it wasn't there I couldn't eat it so I cleaned everything out. I am leaving early today and going grocery shopping for things I can have. I may even do a big cook tonight to have food on hand.

Well I am with you now Tinky on weight. I got on the scale and I am at 175. So I am changing my ticker. I am not going to let it get me down its only a couple of pounds and it will come right back off.

Well I have to get going and I will talk to you all later.

Hey everybody! I became a "calorie counter" in January and absolutely love it. I admit I am a compulsive scheduling freak, so planning a menu and writing down the calories has been a lifesaver for me. I never worry what and when and where I'm going to eat. Plus, I feel like I am never depriving myself because if I have a craving I either fill it and then balance the rest of the day around that meal or find a healthier version of it that fits into my daily plan.

My challenge of the week however is for my friend's birthday she wants to do sushi. I do not eat sushi, as in I don't like raw fish, cooked fish, or seaweed... Is chicken teriyaki a bad choice? How many calories would you guys predict is in chicken teriyaki at sushi places? I tried looking it up but couldn't find a good estimate... HELP!

hey guys, im a calorie counter, always have been.
but i just had a bit of a scare, i had 60 cals left for the evening and decided to have some watermelon, now i knew watermelon is not calorie free but being that its mainly water i though it would have a similar calorie count as cucumber...LOW
so i sat and munched about 1/4 a whole watermelon...i love a good ripe one....
but then my boyf jokingly checks online how many cals are in one and i must have eaten about 300 cals
OMG im sooooo annoyed..... at least i ran/worked out today so i suppose its not the end of the world. But its fine if i choose to go over my target but clearly i was in the dark....fooooled by watermelons wateryness.....
just a warning moan i guess
dont let watermelon fool u guys too :-(

4 oz chicken teriyaki = 260 calories. I got this from the Calorie King.

Happy Friday Everyone!!!

Grammy- Yep, I am too young to have these kinds of issues when it comes to blood pressure. It has gone down only a bit. BTW, I start my plan on Sunday! Yay! LOL I honestly believe I've gained a little more. But soon will be gone. LOL! Though TOM is coming so, that could explain things.

Hi Cookie. Yes, if you don't eat sushi of any kind, teriyaki will be your best bet. Though high in sodium, but drink lots of water or green tea.

Free- Don't worry bout the watermelon chica! It is better than having a donut right? Plus watermelon are known to be diuretics too. I don't think it's going to cause you to balloon up.

Still- congrats on your 2lbs down. How exciting! Keep it going! I'd love to be in the 160s too! LOL!

Well I recieved my Economic rebate, and I am pretty happy. I plan on getting a new camera, and do some grocery shopping, and then decide what to do with the rest. I also need to clean my house this weekend. Fun! Well I will try to catch you all on here, before I leave for the day. Have a great morning everyone!

Hey everybody! So I decided what I was going to do about the Japanese take-in meal. I am going to get Chicken Teriyaki with the teriyaki sauce on the side, it comes with salad (ginger dressing on the side) and instead of rice I'm going to substitute miso soup. Sounds like a pretty good plan to me!

So I'm trying to be a bit more experimental with the food I'm eating, which is why I love calorie counting so much. I think it allows variety because you can play and balance your day. So I bakes these oatmeal white chocolate chip dried strawberry cookies from my new Cooking Light recipe cook book and they were delicious!!! Only 98 calories a cookie

My family wants me to bake something for our Mother's Day BBQ hmmm

Anyone have any good turkey meatloaf recipes they would recommend?

Morning everyone. Same old same old here. Things are fine but the rain has kept me from doing the lawn. Why does it do that, rain just enough in the morning to keep you from mowing grass all day lol.

Free ~ I love watermelon but it is loaded with natural sugar but like Tinky said its also a diuretic. I also can't eat much because of all the water content, fills me up fast.

Still ~ That is great news, WHOHOO! WTG.

Tinky ~ Its great that its coming down and the program will help you because it is very low sodium. If you need any help with meal ideas or finding a group to post with let me know. I post with the New Normal group at Provida but its a little slow right now. It comes and goes. My suggestion is going with the forums for newbies. There are always groups starting up. I like going and reading what they are doing because everyone is so motivated when they first start the program and it gets me motivated.

Shy ~ I will trade you and take your same old same old. LOL!

ODD has fallen in it again. Her BF (worthless himself) decided to actually get off the couch to beat the crap out of her. She called the cops and I guess he is in jail. His step-sister had Will, my DD's youngest and won't give him back and said she is calling child protective agency on her. His Mom said she is also but my goodness are they going to listen to a convicted drug addict/dealer who had her kids taken away from her for neglect or my DD? GEEZ! I would like the lady to go to the court house and file the complaint so she can go back to jail since she is wanted also. DD is moving in with a friend because she doesn't feel safe. My opinion, like I said earlier, she just wants the money out of that trailer but I have news for her I am not paying for another place for her to live. That was a once in a lifetime deal just like the last car we bought her.

What a week to say the least and I can't wait for this week to be over. On ward and upward hopefully.

Well I better get going because this has taken 6 hrs to type because of all the interruptions.

Cookie- That is a wonderful choice!!! Good luck at dinner tonight.

GrammyL- Did you get the PM message that I sent you? If you didn't let me know.

Well I think that is all, for my end. It's the same old, same old here too, except I am not crazy busy like last Friday. I have to go to an informal inservice for our co-worker who passed recently. But other than that, every is just flying by.

If I don't make it on here later, Have a great weekend! See you all on Monday!!!!! Tata!

Grammy
I have heard more than once I have a very boring life YES I DO and I like it that way lol. I cook, I clean, I do laundry, I work at the soup kitchen, I bake for the old dears and I read at the nursing home, I help clean a few old folks houses and get calls from time to time because someone needs a ride here or there. I have a master list of the to do lists for everyone in the house lol. My life is very orderly and everyone knows what day of the week I make chicken or meat loaf lol. Some people could not live this way. I am so disorganized if I didn't stay as organized as I am with the same old same old I would never know where anything is or get anything done lol.
