Hey all!

I'm fighting a bad cold. I woke up Monday with a sore throat and one of my lymph nodes was swollen, so I haven't been doing much other then sleeping. I think I'm over the worst part (I hope so.)

I've been really bad with my eating lately. I need to get back OP so I can get back down 150. I'm not exactly sure what I really weigh, since I've been using the neti pot (nasal irrigation with salt water) a lot with being sick and I'm sure I must be absorbing some of the salt. I'm hoping that a few pounds are water retention. I'm sure the chicken soup I'm eating has too much sodium as well. Oh well, I'll worry about it after I start to feel better.

I've read all the posts, but I don't have the energy to address everyone. I hope everyone is having a great week!

Fried foods are a no no for me. They just rip me up inside. A few years back I stopped eating anything deep fried and I haven't had heart burn since. I used to have acid reflux but not anymore. I used to blame spicy foods for it but it had nothing to do with spicy foods it was greasy foods. I can now tolerate very spicy foods and even hot sauce without a problem as long as it isn't going on to something deep fried.

I did great yesterday. I drank all my water. I exercised and I ate according to my plan. I am almost back to where I was so you better run Tinky.

You know when you start a new program how it is so exciting and the weight is just melting off but after a few months the spark is gone. Why does it leave, why does a shrinking bodies excitement go away? That is what I am asking myself to help get me moving. Why wouldn't I be excited to shrink. Why wouldn't I want to work a program that will melt the weight off. It surely isn't the program because it is very down to earth and actually easy when you look at. I have to truly want this. So, I am trying to get my "newbie" mindset back and the desire to do what it takes to get the job done. I am working on getting the excite back about a shrinking body.

Well I better go and I will talk to you all later. I have a big project I am going to work on off and on today. It is really yucky so I have to do it a little at a time.

Happy Hump Day!

GrammyL- LOL! IT's ok, I need a running partner anyways.
My loss probably won't be as stellar as last week, but I will take what I can. I want to leave the 70's forever~ What I do to keep me going, is look at the dress that I want to wear for DF's cousin's wedding. And it's strapless, this will be my first time going into a strapless anything. LOL! So that keeps me going. I also don't notice myself in the mirror, because I see the same thing everyday. But I do take other people's comment and go with it. A loss is a loss, think of it as those couple of lbs of fat and stuff permanantely gone from our bodies!

Zenor- I hope you feel better! I love Neti pots as well. I need to get back into the groove of using mine again.

RockNRoll- I remember when I was a B, I was in mid school. LOL! Well fried foods does the same for me. I end up getting wicked stomach aches, or just a feeling of heaviness.

PrettyPaula- Congrats on the progress!!! Your scale sounds like mine. It does everything. LOL!

Ok, a couple of months ago, I told you all that I got my ring, and then promised to post a pic of it soon. Well here it is finally...LOL! Sorry for the long wait.

I think we all can relate to this. Maybe it's because we are losing weight so slowly, that we don't truly appreciate what we are accomplishing. It seems never ending, like trying to walk "up" a "down" escalater. Also, maybe we worry that if we become a normal size, we'll have one less excuse for not doing something or not achieving other goals. After all, it's easier to say, "I can't take ballroom dancing classes because I'm too heavy and it'll hurt my knees" than it is to say, "I can't dance or I'm too lazy to try that". LOL

I also think that because so many of have been teased about our weight and think that we are "undeserving of normal", the fact that it begins to become relatively "easy" to lose weight on the chosen diet, it's working, slowly, but working, we begin to think we don't deserve to lose weight because we aren't suffering enough.

Maybe you could get a bag and fill it with rocks that weigh what you used to weigh, and tie it around your waist for a day. Also, just put five pounds extra weight on you for a day and you'll begin to appreciate the loss of those pounds more...

Good luck, and hang in there!

Well, I've been on this diet exactly one month (I started April 14th), and I've lost 15 lbs... well, maybe not, my weight is showing between 300 and 304--every day it is different--up and down..

My clothes are fitting much better, so I'm happy! I just really want to get to Deuceland this week!

PrettyPaula ~ I have a really nice scale that stores my weights for my and tells me whether I am up or down. It also does body fat but I have no idea how. DH picked it out because he said I needed a nice scale.

Tinky ~ As long as you stick with the program you can continue to have big weight losses. I now you had a little bit of treats but you had so little I don't think it will hurt at all. I could never do strapless with my ugly arms. People wouldn't know if I was coming or going because they would be waving at them. HAHAHAHA! The ring is beautiful! This week if we have the funds I am going to buy one size smaller pants and shirt so that I will have something to look at and a reason to keep moving.

Gaia ~ You are exactly right on everything you said. If I follow my program 100% I can lose 2-3 lbs a week but its following it a 100%. For some reason I don't do it and I think its because I am afraid to achieve my goal. I also think some doubts are hanging around on whether I deserve it and another is I can't do this look at how many times I have failed. I think there is a short circuit between my conscious and subconscious mind. Consciously I can do it but my subconscious doesn't want me to. LOL! Don't know why.

Zenor ~ Just concentrate on getting better. I would say make homemade chicken noodle soup but you probably don't feel up to it.

Well off to do some more work.

Tinky~ Ooooh girl, that ring is BEAUTIFUL! Just gorgeous! DF did good!

GrammyL~ I did make soup last night. It wasn't completely from scratch, but it was better then the canned stuff. I used store bought broth and added chicken, onions, garlic, shredded spinach, and orzo pasta. It was yummy and I didn't have to be in the kitchen too long. Thankfully DH does the dishes most of the time.

Gaia~ You can do it! Deuceland here you come!

PrettyPaula~ Sounds like a great scale. I just have an analog scale. What can I say? I guess I like kicking it old school. Congrats on the loss!

Thanks for all the get well wishes! I'm feeling better this morning. Not completely, but I think I should be all better by the weekend.

Hope you start feeling better soon. A few days of eating well and exercise and I am sure things will turn right around for you.

Paula
That is great. The scale sounds cool.

Grammy
I am the same way. I eat fried foods about twice a year lol. My tummy just can't take it.

TINKY: WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! gorgeous ring!!! I am surprised you can lift your hand lol.

well I can relate with everyone about the weight loss slow down and lack of motivation. I have been trying to lose SOMETHING this week. Working hard keeping to plan but I am bouncing between 173 and 172 still.!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so frusterated and I know everyone says just relax it will happen I hvae tried zigzagging, taking a day off, more workouts, cutting and adding calories NOTHING gets me any lower then 172!!!! maybe I need to cut out bread again! anyways hope everyone is good

Zenor ~ The soup sounds good. I take as much help from the store as I can. I found a really low sodium stock in the organic section of the store and it is excellent. Hope its doing the trick for you.

Irish ~ I know how frustrating it can be and I can sympathize with you. Do you measure at all. See I am staying steady but I put a pair of pants on today that I haven't worn in a couple of months and they were snug now they are lose. I have really been doing my strength training and exercising a lot this week and I think its paying off.

Last night I went on freak out cleaning mode. I cleaned the section of the leanto where the goats were (we got rid of the one that survived this weekend, goats can be a pain without proper fencing) and then I started on the house. I did normal cleaning you know dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, cleaning the counters, loaded the dish wash, cleaned the bathroom but then all the little things that were getting on my nerves I did. I took care of the last of the Christmas decorations, put the cookie jars back on top of the cupboards, fixed some broken things that fell of the wall somehow we have no clue how and its kind of scary, took the lamp apart and cleaned it, cleaned all the junk out from under the computer and around it (collect all section), did a load of laundry, washed the living room windows. Then this morning I cleaned out all the unwanted cloths in my closet and took them to Goodwill this morning. Shew! I took 1 bag of trash and 2 diaper boxes worth of junk out of the living room. My house just keeps getting lighter and lighter. The older I get the less I seem to want. I just see it as clutter and something I have to clean. LOL!

So today I am going to try and sit back and relax a little. There are still some things I want to do around the house and others I want to do but it doesn't make sense to do it since we are getting ready to finish our living room and paint the kitchen.

Well I have to get going and place an order that has to be done right away. They need the enzyme to finish their project by the end of the week. ARG! And its my problem because? LOL!
