Thanks for the welcome. I'm definitely looking for accountability too - that's the thing I think I really need to be able to stick with it. And of course, encouragement and support don't hurt either Thanks again!

I've just heard a terrible news

my favorite professor died
he was young (40ish) and was battling cancer for a very long time.

it's not fair when the good-ones go away

I'm on a verge of tears... it's just not fair

he was the one of few who cared about students and he was the favorite professor of all of us...

I don't know how to feel... we weren't close or anything personal, but it still hurts

I had a math teacher in high school who was the most amazing women. I hated math and struggled thrugh it so much, but she took time with me and even though I never did catch on to the more complicated things, she never gave up and was so encouraging and supportive. She took interest in me as a person - I think thats what made a diffference. Honestly I think she was soley responsible for me not dropping out! Wish I would have told her that!!!

Still
Some days it seems like I have been doing this forever lol. Was a year on the 9th of this month. Sometimes it doesn't feel like I have been doing this very long. I am doing well. I do have to keep myself in hand. I find myself eating a bit here and a bit there to much if I don't. The weight is coming off pretty steady and that is a good thing. The exercise is so hard some days and so easy other days. You would think it would be easy everyday for as long as I have been doing it lol. My goal day ( if I don't hit it that is fine, I have come a long way ) isn't until my birthday in Nov so I have a long way to go. Not even going to think about that really. Just getting the weight off, keeping the body exercising is all that is really important. I have come so far, I can see the difference now and that feels terrific. I am probably never going to wear an itty bitty tennie wennie yellow poko dot bikini but hey...I am 5 years old and probably wouldn't be wearing one of those if I had never gained all the weight anyway lol.

Oolong
I am sorry to hear of your loss. It doesn't always matter how close we are to people sometimes. There are people that touch our lives in great ways and they are missed when they are gone.

zenor
I will send you my rain and you can have spring lol. I swear, every time I am going to cut grass it rains. The one day it didn't rain I didn't feel like cutting the grass. Pretty soon I am going to have a jungle out there. It doesn't take but a week for the stuff to get real long.

Oh my gosh, I thought I was 47 lol my daughter said MOTHER you are only 45 lol.

Hey everyone, I'm back!

I can't catch up right now on the your posts but I thought I would update you on my mini vacation. I stayed within calories and even had dessert one night! I had a Peanut Butter and Chocolate covered Rice Crispy treat from Kilwin's Chocolate shop! I also worked out on the hotel's elliptical each morning!

I am very proud of myself... I love calorie counting

Good night everyone

Ok everyone i'm new to 3FCs and have been reading and posting around. I think i'm ending up as a calorie counter and portion controller who is also striving to become more conscious of when i'm hungry, when i'm full, etc. because i can't deal w/diets that say no this, that or the other. I like the idea of being able to eat what i want within limits. This is something i need to learn, limits.

Good Morning Everyone-

I was not good at all from Friday afternoon and on. I don't know why, but I am not making excuses. So here I am starting new again. LOL! The salt intake sure messed me up this weekend though. So most of the gain is from that. I am going to try and catch up.

Zenor- Wow, that is warm, we got up to 90 here on Saturday! I was about to faint! LOL! I walked our pug, at around 9:45, and it was so warm that she was panting and wheezing towards the end of our walk. I thought I would of had to carry her home! We're back to normal today though. Thank Goodness!!

Oolong- Good to see you back. I am sorry for the loss of your favorite professor. Though they're not family, you can't help to feel bad, especially if he has helped made an impact in your life.

Shy- I couldn't live without my food scale now. It is amazing how I saw portions in the beggining. Now that I actually weigh things, it does amaze me on how much we actually ate before. Scary!!!

RockNRoll- Yeah vacations can a bit of a tough one, but I am so happy to know you kept your workouts while on a vacation. That's really something that you should be proud of.

Bumblebee and Ailey!!!!

Theycallme- I am so sorry to hear bout that. I will keep my fingers cross that everything goes well for your furbaby.

I understand how you must feel and have heard those terrible words, I pray that you have the strength to do what is necessary and remember that you gave Teddy a wonderful life and a good home for 13 years,

I'm going to school in south Georgia gaia! I am also moving to Georgia next month!
I graduated from Valdosta State University--BFA in Theatre and Communication Arts, and I work in Albany Georgia where there are 4 colleges...Albany only has a population of about 100,000. LOL BTW, you did good on your vacation! I think that you will like living in Georgia--well, I like where I live--guess it depends on where you are, but most places in Georgia are nice, and currently Georgia is growing by leaps and bounds. The area around St. Marys is probably one of the best kept secrets around...I'll probably move there when I retire.

Sorry for the loss of your Professor, Oolong. My old band Director died a couple of months ago and it was devastating to me. I marched (I was a percussionist) in his band and played in his orchestra for 6 years (6th grade-12th), my oldest son was also in his band/orchestra, and I also played in his private orchestra for a while. He was highly respected and loved in the community and won many awards for his abilities and so did his bands and orchestras...we were a small town but known all over the state for the quality of our band/orchestra.

I was so sorry this weekend! I found out on Friday that someone had obviously made a copy of my bank debit card and had charged over a thousand dollars worth of wireless services to Verizon ($474.00!), I-wireless, GeorgiaTelePay, and Alltell Pinless! It really bothered me how much time was bought and one phone was "auto billed" over $106.00 in one day--so someone was doing a LOT of talking! The only debit they made that wasn't wireless related was for a Pizza at a Pizza Hut in Indiana! And the scary thing is that the Indian "town" where that was made is near a predominantly Muslim population. Makes me very nervous.

Anyway, the bank says all of my money (including the two insufficient funds check charges on two of MY checks that bounced because of these twerps) would be reimbursed. Because I hadn't had a check bounce in a long time, the bank did go ahead and pay for the checks, so at least they weren't returned! So I've had a pretty stressful weekend...and sorry, I'm not strong, I "self-medicated"... but I'm back on track today!!

Theycallmemom, I have a 14 year old cat name Bastet who is the center of my universe. I know that any time her health could fail and I could lose her, so I know how you feel. I hope that whatever is wrong with Teddy that they'll be able to fix it, and that he'll have many more years with you. It could be arthritis or some sort of swelling, and if so, steroids should help. I'm praying for you and Teddy!

Woo hoo! A fun, easy way to exercise! On my cat board, a woman in Australia told us she had this and LOVED it. It was just released in the USA today!!

Hey just thought I would stop in and say I survived the weekend. I volunteered at a after grad party! OMG I was there until 3:30am! Had to be at work at 8, but came in at 10 instead! But I am SO tired...DH woke me up at 7, I could have KILLED him, I planned on sleeping till 9, and he knew it!
So I am suffering through the day and will be going to bed early tonight!

Theycallmemom ~ Congrats on the new Grandbaby on the way. They really are fun. I think I enjoy my grandsons more than my own kids. I am more settled

Welcome Bumblebee! Look forward to getting to know you.

Oolong ~ Wow, you really had a run of hard times. Glad your back.

Oolong ~ Sorry about your loss, sometimes things just don't make sense.

Theycallmemom ~ My pets are part of my family and when I had to put my horse down last month back, I was devastated. He was part of our family for 14 years, it was really hard but it was the right decision.

Has anyone ever seen the commercial about depression where the rain cloud is following the person raining on them. I am not depressed but I think I have a rain cloud following me. Seems as everything is falling apart around me and I can't put it back together. I won't go into details but GEEZ it could all stop.

DIET is a four letter word right now because the other four letter word FOOD is over powering it. LOL! I am ashamed of how I ate this weekend so I am not going into details. Between things going bad and TOM yep I ate. DH hasn't seem me eat like that in so long he was joking about it. It was a free for all. I FEEL ICKY!

Anyway, I better get going. It has been a crazy day around here and I need to go water my supervisors plants before I go. Gotta stay on his good side. HAHAHA!
