7 years!? Isn't that common law marriage by now? lol Jason and I were engaged by 6 months, pregnant by 9 months and married by a year. I always wonder what it would have been like to spend a few years with just the two of us, sans kids. <sigh>
|
Hi everyone!
The last few days have been great managed to keep calories under 1400 everyday and water intake has been 96oz per day. I was even able to enjoy a bit of ice cream at our staff bbq this week. I step on the scale tomorrow I hope I was able to lose, It has been a while since the last time i saw a major move on the scale. |
Good Morning Everyone! Happy Thursday!
My calories for yesterday were 1606 And fiber at 32 75 minutes of good exercise Coolmom- Hahahhaha, might I add we were dating long distance for 4.5 years, living with each other for 2 ! So by a small technically, we've only been "together" for 2 years! LOL :joker: Zenor- Yes I promise to post pics of it, when that happens. We don't plan on waiting too long, we will probably have a small civil wedding or elope somewhere. LOL My dreams of a big wedding are gone...I came to the conclusion that it's a big waste of money, I could put that money towards a nice honeymoon and a house! LOL Well have a great day everyone, the weekend is almost here! Woo hooo! |
Tinky~ After having a wedding I would suggest elopement to everyone! We did it on the cheap, but I would have been happy with a dress, my DH, and our family at the beach and going to a restaurant after. I wasn't the only one with opinions though. Lol. I got my end result, so I was happy either way.
Coolmom~ We were engaged quick too. After 7 months and married after 1 year. Sometimes you have to snatch them up quick. ;) |
Yep we knew each other for 6 months, dated for 6-8 months, engaged 6 months (married for almost 11 now) and wished we had eloped! We had a smallish wedding and everything was homemade (we both worked at mcd) but the stress of it all killed me....but then again anytime I deal closely with my family I get stressed lol. Have fun, but just a word to the wise, it all depends on if you like the "idea" of a wedding.

Good afternoon everyone, it finally cooled down here, and i walked last night for an hour again, I'm statring out the day pretty good i ate a bowl of Kashi Lean crunch for breakfast and a grilled chicken salad for lunch. Hope i can stay on track the rest of the day.........
Little red- Thanks for the compliments on the dress, it was expensive but i was on prom court so it was worth it(now only if i would of been skinny!) Charlene- Good luck with the hair staightening and keep up the good work Zenor- Thanks for the help and advice i think im going to start the alli plan and see how that goes, its aimed toward a slow weight loss Tinky- thanks the dress was pretty awesome, and thanks for the advice too, keep up ur great work its impressive |
Hi girls
Calories for wednesday: 1411 fiber:38 gr. water: 14 glasses, 112 oz. I also only knew my hubby for a short time. Met him march 18th. He moved in by June. married him in Aug. of 78". Thats 6 months from the day we met, till we married. (just short 6 days). I will keep him. he is a keeper. Heck, after all these yrs. who wants to teach a new dog, tricks. He's all trained. ;) we did not have much time alone either. married aug 11-78 had ds. sept. 79. 13 months before son was born. My family all just knew I was preg. when we got married ;) we gave them 2 weeks notice. and got married by the local judge. He just couldn't wait. :D Yes, I would do it again. |
Reading all this talk about marriage..... my first date with my husband was on Sept 2, 1989, we got engaged on Oct 31, 1989 and married on May 26, 1990. 6 months total. We've been married for 17 years!!
Everyone thought we were crazy for getting married after only dating for 6 months, but somehow, it worked! We were married 8 years before we adopted our son (who is now 8 1/2) so we had LOTS of time together, which I think is a good thing. Then again, it would have been nice to become parents a little earlier in life. I'm 46 with an 8 year-old, but I LOVE it! :) |
Hahahahah look at what I started! Well all I can say is that I'm happy where I am now versus 3 years ago. Long distance relationships do make the heart grow fonder, but man it's no walk in the park.I'm also very lucky that he never gave up on me, when I was trying to push him away, and I also can proudly say that we have never broken up once during our whole relationship. Ok I shall get myself off the soapbox! LOL :soap:
Zenor- Oh yeah, I definitely want a low key ceremony. No hype, no fuss, I really don't want to turn into bridezilla! LOL You all make me feel like I'm the asian version of Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell minus the kids and all! LOL So how is everyone's calorie counting day? I decided not to work out today, I had a good enough workout running around at work, so going to keep my calories a bit low! |
Hey everyone! Joining the fun here :)
Today Calories: 1366 Fiber: 39 Fat: 36 Worked out at the YMCA today. I did about 35 minutes on the treadmill and 10 minutes on the bike. I'm really proud of myself since this is really my first week "exercising" regularly. My husband and I have been together for 11 years (married 10). We actually knew that we were going to get married that second weekend we met. We got engaged 3 months later. :) |
Calories for today~ 1446
Fiber~ 42 grams I've slacked off on my walks the last two days. :( Oh well, hopefully I get more motivation for next week. I really hope I can lose that 1lb to make it to my birthday goal! Regardless, my goal next week, is to not gain. I'm not going to go too crazy, but I may splurge a bit seeing it'll be my birthday week. Plus there is the holiday to contend with and some friends are taking me out tomorrow as an early b-day dinner. We're going out for sushi tomorrow night and then for Italian on my actual birthday. I've been dreaming of sushi all week! Yum! |
Lovin' all these marriage stories. :)
I don't know what is going on with me...I've been cooking my superfoods dishes and getting a little snacky with the leftovers. I'm sure my total cals were over 2000 the last couple days. And my weight just dropped a few pounds and I am 161.6, almost hitting my short goal. Yay! welcome Minty fresh! good job getting your exercise. I highly recommend checking for a TOPS group in your area. They are a non-profit weight loss support group and they have really motivated me to keep on track. |
Happy Friday everyone!!! I'm so so glad this week is at it's end! LOL
Well I ate more than expected yesterday, DF and I had Mexican, but I ordered Fajitas, so that it was easier for me to count. LOL! Minty Fresh- Hi there :welcome2: Wonderful job on getting your exercise in...sometimes it hard to get motivated to start, but the feeling afterwards is so nice! We're here to support you all the way!!! DF and I knew eachother were the one since the beggining of us dating. It just all clicked! Don't be a stranger around here! :D Zenor-Mmmmmhhmmm yummy Sushi! That is my weakness, that and Italian and Mexican. LOL What food don't I love? You'll do fine even if you'll be maintaining! Wow, your birthday is just around the corner! Anything you've been wanting in particular this year? LOL I asked DF what he wanted for his 30th, he said to not gain a spare tire....:dizzy: Well have a great one everyone!! |
Hello everyone-
I see that everyone has been doing pretty good. The marriage stories are funny. I met my husband in Sept. Had a promise ring in Oct. A engagment ring in December that was all in 1996. We didn't get married until August of 2000 though. I have been doing ok....We have ice cream in the house again so I am trying to resist that and have the kids eat it, we only have a little bit left thank god!! I need to start moving more though. Lately I have been so tired. I think it is because I am taking that Chantix. Tomorrow I should be moving around alot I have a ton of laundry to do!!! Well I should get back to work........Lara are you out there???? Where have you gone to??? Mary |

On a happier note~ Minty fresh :welcome3: |
I haven't been around in awhile. I've been kinda busy. And I had a BAD day. I binged - bad. I had ice cream, 2 hamburgers, a cheese quesadilla, fries, chips, etc. All b/c of this huge party my mom had with her organization. I was so sure I wouldn't binge, and then I got there and all the food looked too good to pass up. I didn't eat it all at once, it was over a period of like 8 hours! I'm serious, we just got home, one of the most biggest parties I've ever been too!
I didn't take my Alli capsule for fear of treatment effects. And I'm scared to start taking it tomorrow, but I will. Anyway, I'm going to go get an early night. I'm exhausted from talking, believe it or not. I'll catch up on posts later. Bye! |
Charlene, so you've had a "binge" day. Don't let it ruin what success you already have! Tomorrow will be a new day to start over :)
|
Great day again today.
We went out for dinner to this local sports bar where in the past I would have hamburgers and fries or steak and loaded baked potato. Guess what I had tonight? Lemon Pepper catfish with about 1/2 cup of spanish rice and a salad with just a very little bit of Thousand Island dressing (usually I would douse the whole salad with it). And it was really good!! |
Charlene, just start fresh. Its always tough the next day because you'll be hungrier. you can do it!
Minty fresh, good for you! 11 pounds, that's great! We did some grocery shopping tonight. We are getting so much better about getting groceries on time and not going out to eat. I had a big slice of Costco pizza (760 cals!) but fit it in to my allowance. mmm! Stay good this weekend everyone!!! |
Good Evening I hope everyone had a great Friday!
Charlene- Hey hun, please don't beat yourself over the binge. It happens to all of us. Tomorrow is a new day. Though from experience drink lots of water to flush out the sodium. Minty Fresh- That dinner sounded delish! I haven't had fish in a while, I got a bit tired of salmon. LOL CoolMom- Yeah that Costco pizza can break ya at times. LOL It's so darn good though. But I'm glad that it fit in your budget, by the time I want pizza, my calorie allowance doesn't allow me to do it. Well my calories tonight are around 1600 I had California Rolls (brown rice version) with home made miso soup. Yummy. Zenor you made me crave sushi too! LOL ;) GrammyL- WHERE ARE YOU? |
Calories for today~ 2043
Fiber~ 31 grams (probably a bit higher~I couldn't find fiber totals for everything) Well, the new sushi place we went to was amazing! So yummy, but I'm SOOOO full. I don't think I've eaten that much in months and months. So, one birthday dinner down and one more to go (on my actual birthday.) My calories are really high today, but I'll just be extra good the rest of the weekend. I hope everyone is having a great start to the weekend! |
Hi Girls,
It has been a few days. sorry, I see every one is doing well. I have been kind of busy lately. It seems to be all I can do to keep up with the calorie counting. Yes, I am. :) Any way today is family day. with the granddaughter, etc. And I have a CPR class at noon. At Curves. They were having a class for the women that work there, had two other openings. And I jumped on the chance. With a dgd that has the c.p. I thought it might be a good thing to do. I also have been keeping up with going to curves. I had my monthly weigh in. Not as good as most months. Its been a slow one. My total monthy weight loss is only 4.5 pounds. They did show me my list since March 1st. On the Curves scale I am down 22 pounds. They said my total inches lost was over 17 inches! I don't put much into their measuring methods. Seems like I can loose inches, one month. but My measurements will go up the next month, lots. They just measure so different from each other. and my body fat was 45.5 Now its 41.2 I think that the body fat is a better indication than the measuring methods of Curves employees So even though I feel like its been way to slow coming off this month...I can at least see the long haul has been good. My calories for the friday, 1537 fiber: 45gr. water:12 glasses. Alright, I have a bunch of things to do before my class, back later. have a great day everyone, congrats on the losses, and welcome newbies. got to get off now. by by. |
Hi,
I've decided to start REALLY watching my eating, and have decided to try calorie counting. Could someone tell me how to get to fitday? My google won't take me there directly! Breakfast = 300cal [using package nutrition info]..... thanks, Cuppa |
hello everyone it has been a crazy week for me been on vacation with three kids!!! i have done really good i have still lost 2 lb this week. i hope everyone has done really good. got too run kids wanna go.
adah |
I just needed to show off my new ticker. I was so excited when I got on the scale this morning! Calorie counting is the first thing that has ever worked for me. Go figure! The most simple and time-tested way to lose weight actually works!
|
CuppaJoe - Just go to www.fitday (dot) com. If that didn't work, don't know what the problem could be. Hmmm.
RGSG - Congrats on the scale! Calorie counting is great, it's working for me too. (I've probably lost more than it says on my ticker but I haven't weighed myself in a week or so because I'm going by how my clothes fit for now!) |
Quote:
Congratulations!!! That is awesome :) I know exactly how you feel. I just started calorie counting a couple of weeks ago, and I feel like I'm just eating healthier, not "on program", and actually not starving all the time. Calorie counting and a low-fat diet - who would have thought? LOL |
Calories for today~ 1341
Fiber~ 36 grams Our apricot tree ripened this last week so I made two batches of jam today (one lower sugar) and I'm making one more tomorrow. Then I'll have to figure out what to do with the rest of them. Lol. With only the two of us, it's hard to eat them all and, of course, they have to ripen all at once! Depending on how the lower sugar batch gels, I may do another batch of that. That cuts 15 calories off of 1 Tablespoon. :D RGSG99~ :woohoo: Congrats! Calorie counting is the only thing that's worked for me too! It's all about portion control for me. I'm glad it's working well for you! milleradah~ :cheer2: Congratulations on the 2 lbs! I bet chasing after the kids helps too. :D I think that counts as exercise! Cuppa~ :welcome: I love your avatar! I'm a coffee/chihuahua lover myself! Our chi isn't quite so small though since he's a mix. Littlered~ I know what you mean about how people measure! I had a bra fitting not to long ago and I know the girl measured too loose. I could feel it and the size she told me fit really strange. Some times you have to take measurements with a grain of salt. I would trust the fat percentage though. Great job on losing all that fat! Tinky~ Have you ever made sushi rice salad? It's made with brown rice and it's basically the sushi rice with all the stuff you'd find in a maki roll mixed in. Then you sprinkle toasted nori on top. I haven't tried it yet, but I have a recipe. I'm going to make it this week, I'll let you know how it turns out. Grammy~ I agree, where are you? I hope everything is well with you and your family! |
Hello everyone! I haven't wrote in a while, but I'm happy to say that I've lost 13 pounds this month. Hopefully, I'll have the same results in July. Anyone starting a July thread? Also, I'm getting a little bored with grilled chicken, salad and turkey. Any one have any suggestions? I don't eat any seafood.. just don't like it. Talk to you guys later!
