Zenor- LOL thanks! Well I finally got over my shyness! LOL! But really it does make it easier to communicate.

Crafty- Hey way to go on the 1 lb loss!! Every little helps!!! :carrot:

Ok off to bed ladies! I'm pooped out!! GOOD NIGHT and sleep tight!

GrammyL 06-21-2007 09:15 AM

Lovemyboy ~ Glad to see you back and to hear of your successes. Keep up the good work and it won't be long before the 170's are here. Also, my real start weight was around 240 but I usually us 235 as a start weight just because I am embarrassed. So, NOPE I was a heffer. I can't believe how big I was until I look at some pictures.

There is the only photo I can find that shows my starting weight and that doesn't show the real picture.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2.../Untitled1.jpg My belly was touching the front of the saddle, a shadow from my arm is hidding that.

Crafty Mom ~ I hear you on doing better when I have the structure of work. I have vacation coming up and I am going to put a real effort into not eating the frig.

Meg1989 ~ June bugs are nasaty. I got one tangled in my hair once and I was totally freaked out. I run the other way when I see those things.

Tinky ~ I think DD got the lice taken care of. Even if she missed eggs, they are sterile when they hatch and can't reproduce.

OK, if anyone has a mouse problem don't use the new plastic mouse traps. I was bouncing all over the house scream yesterday morning. We had a mouse, big nasty one, size of a rat, no just kidding. So we bought this new plastic trap that was suppost to be as good as the old wooden traps. Well, it isn't. The mouses head was in the trap but it didn't kill it and for the first time in my life I was going to dump the mouse. I went to get these huge rubber gloves that are insulated and go to my elbows. Then I went out to the kitchen and it heard me coming and start flopping around. I was jumping around screaming. I got dd up, called DH because I didn't know what to do. DD killed it for me and I took and dumped it. She was laughing at me but its like YUCKO!

Doc said my wisdom teeth should come out just fine. A little laughing gas and shots and I should be good. DD had to be put under. I didn't want to be put under so I am glad my will be easier.

Well I better get going and get some work done. Back in a few.

GrammyL 06-21-2007 10:36 AM

Tinky ~ I love seeing a face to go with a name. Thanks for posting it and you are beautiful!

Forgot to tell everyone that I bought the 100 cal packs of hostess cup cakes. What a joke, perfect size for DGS. They are about four bites for him. Two modest bites for an adult. They were good, just like the real thing because all they are is mini's of the real thing. GEEZ!

As you all can tell I am trying to stay distracted. ODD and I had a huge blow out fight last night. It was bad and I prefer not to go into much detail. The hardest part is worrying about them because she is evicted from her place, no where to go and now is denying me the right to see DGS or even let me know where they are. I finally let out all that I have had pent up in me and told her the truth about the way she is behaving and living. Its one of those the truth hurts situations but she needed a wake up call, she didn't recieve it well. Do I think it worked, no and did I handle it all wrong, yes. To late what is done is done. DH said by Friday she will be calling me to come get DGS because she needs a break. We shall see, I doubt it. I just couldn't take the mental abuse she has been dishing out anymore and then she got physical and I had to protect myself. She really, really needs help.

Tinky009 06-21-2007 10:40 AM

Good Morning everyone!! Woohoo, today is Thursday!

GrammyL- Aint that the truth with pictures, I never thought I was that big until I looked at myself in pictures. Yikes! I found two, that I'm going to use for my befores though I'm looking forward to the afters! LOL ;)
I had to laugh at your mouse story, I do the same thing when it comes to those critters!

Zenor- I love shoes, what kind did you pick up?

Well I have my 2 year Evaluation at work today! Well I think it will be good, but one never knows! LOL Well have a great day everyone!

milleradah 06-21-2007 11:12 AM

hello good morning everyone. we are off to another hot day in Indiana...but wow i am ready to go another pound lost. hope everyone burns lost of calories today got to go workout before it is too hot

GrammyL 06-21-2007 11:24 AM

Tinky ~ I just saw the picture of your pug. My ODD would be in love. They think pugs are the greatest. Good luck on the evaluation, ours here is yearly.

zenor77 06-21-2007 11:56 AM

Grammy~ You poor thing! Sometimes I think tough love is harder on those giving it out. Oh, and don't worry about the wisdom teeth. It's a piece of cake! Mine were impacted really bad and I had no problems with the removal (I did go under.)

Tinky~ Good Luck!

GrammyL 06-21-2007 12:26 PM

Zenor ~ He said I am lucky that although my teeth on the bottom are slightly leaning forward the roots are not curved and don't have big hooks. He was sure some laughing gas and shots is plenty but I didn't have to do the gas if I didn't want to. Personally I will take the gas so I can get thru it floating. HAHAHA!

Charlene Dahhling 06-21-2007 12:28 PM

WE GOT A NEW GAS GRILL AND IT'S A WEBER! I don't know if any of use know about gas grills (I don't really know that much.), but apparently Weber's are really good. It was $300 and is really nice. My uncle is going to set it up tonight and I'm going to grill Steak!

They put the box on the treadmill and instructed me NOT TO MOVE IT. So I pulled out an old exercise tape and It's from like 94 and I feel like a fool when I do any of the exercises.

Well I started the Alli diet, but I'm not taking the pills until Sunday. I woke up at 11:10 so Breakfast wasn't applicable, more like a 1400 calorie diet today. Just thought I'd tell anyone interested in the Alli diet plan. :)

Natalia ~ I'm sure that weight's from the sodium. That's why I'm leery to eat chinese food. :p

Theresa ~ I read the thread over in "Does It Work?" about Alli and it looks like a lot of the people testing it have had what Alli calls "Treatment Effects". I'm nervous about leaving the house when on the pills and my grandparents like to take me out to eat once a week (normally Applebee's, thank God.) because they are getting old. (They're 82 & 73)

Lara ~ Haha. I'm still unsure if it's pronounced like the name Allison or like your friend in war, ally! Maybe like your war in weight loss? IDK. The lady that created the diet isn't named Allison. I think.

I'm sorry about your DD. I'm sure she'll come around, it just might take awhile.

Georgia Lady ~ Sorry, I've never heard of "Snack Away" I'll keep an eye out for them when I go grocery shopping.

Meg ~ I really can't eat 1800 calories a day, and now that I'm out of school til the Fall I sleep late and sometimes I don't eat breakfast. I guess I'll take 3 capsules the days I wake up early enough to get breakfast and 2 when I don't. So it'll be more like a 1400 calorie diet, but when I wake up in time to eat breakfast it'll be 1600 because I never really eat a 400 calorie breakfast myself.

Crafty Mommy ~ I've lost track of the posts too! So many! When I lurked I never thought I'd write this much but I do!

Zenor ~ You have a nose piercing? That's so awesome! I'm still under 18 so I need parental consent but my mom said she'd get me one done a week before my birthday (My birthday is like the 3 day I'll be at UGA.) if I lost a noticable amount of weight. I did it last summer and I'll do it again!

Tinky ~ I love the picture, you're so pretty! :)

Milleradah ~ Hi! I haven't seen you around here! :welcome:

My hands are sore from typing! HAHA! Talk to y'all later.

Bye!

PS : I thought I lost this one but it saved it automatically in Mail. Phew!

GrammyL 06-21-2007 01:07 PM

This is funny. The reason why is I would be the one asking the question.

This was sent to me in an email and has had me laughing for the day.......

I have 2 dogs & I was buying a large bag of Purina at Big W and standing
in line at the check out.

A woman behind me asked if I had a dog. On impulse, I told her that no, I was starting The Purina Diet again, although I probably shouldn't because I'd ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IV's in both arms.

I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that
it works is to load your pants pockets with Purina nuggets and simply
eat one or two every time you feel hungry & that the food is
nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again.

I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was by now
enthralled with my story, particularly a guy who was behind her.

Horrified, she asked if I'd ended up in the hospital in that condition
because I had been poisoned. I told her no; it was because I'd been
sitting in the street licking my balls and a car hit me.

I thought one guy was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so
hard as he staggered out the door.

Stupid lady...why else would I buy dog food???

Meg1989 06-21-2007 02:18 PM

Lol that was a great story Grammy! I laughed.

Charlene-I have my nose peirced to! If you want it done you should do it, im onyl 17 but my mom just came wtih me when i got it done. I totally dont regret it.

I finally bought a new mp3 player the other day and i went walking wtih it and it helps so much the minutes go by so fast when im jammin out. Do any of you eat those Healthy choice meals???? Well, i supppose im gonna get my butt up and go for a walk before i put it off for too long. Bye everyone

GrammyL 06-21-2007 02:56 PM

Meg1989 ~ OK, now I get the 1989, was probably the year you were born not the year you graduated. HAHAHA! I graduate from High School in 1986. So, I am old to you. My ODD is 20 and YDD is 16.

Charlene ~ Thanks for the hugs, I need it. I love her and my DGS so much but can't take the abuse any longer. I just went with ODD when she got her tongue peirced, that was horrifying to watch but quick. I am thinking about using that as my award when I get to goal, nose peircing - not tongue. I just want a little itty bitty ball.

Well I better get going and eat my snack.

GrammyL 06-21-2007 03:11 PM

I eat Healthy Choice meals when they are sale. They are good and they have certain standards to follow because of the word Healthy. I prefer Lean Cuisine and Smart Ones over Healthy Choice. They are usually lower in calories and to me the taste is superior. The reason I think Healthy Choice is higher in calories is they include the dessert, which I don't care for but I also don't know how to subtract it from the total calories.

I usually chose meals that are between 200 - 300 calories, add a salad and low cal dessert on the side. If I chose one that is higher in calories I have sugar free jello. If I have one that is lower I have sugar free/ff pudding or Quackers Drizzles. Just depends on my mood. I also make sure I have a variety on hand. I don't like to cook any more than I have to. The last plan I was on burned me out because everything had to be cooked from scratch. Few years of that and that was enough cooking for me. Plus I want that time for playing. HEHEHEHE! You know the tanner, Curves, walks and shopping.

Natalia 06-21-2007 03:31 PM

Wooooo-hoooooo!!! Weigh in day today, and I came in at 159.5!!!
That's a different tens column..:carrot: and 1.5 lbs shy of 20lbs!!!
So excited! I still don't believe it, my scale was showing 161.8 when I left the house..but theirs is usually 1.5lbs lighter than mine :dizzy:

Hope you guys do great on your weigh in's today too! Anyone have thursday as a weigh in day?

Petra6998 06-21-2007 05:13 PM

Lara- I just wanted to post a quick note to you about mouse traps. We got one at walmart that shocks them. It was like 17.00 a year ago. We got 5 of those nasty mice the first day!!! (we are surrounded by fields). It is the greatest thing ever. A lite blinks when there is one in there, you just put some peanut butter on it.

Today is going ok on food. I have a 3 day weekend, so I am hoping to stay on plan all weekend. I should be able to I think. Well gotta go the kids want to get in the pool.

Tinky009 06-21-2007 06:42 PM

Thanks for the compliments, you guys are going to make me blush! :o

GrammyL- If its not one thing it's another huh? I'm so sorry that you have to go through this.....
My puggy is my little baby...she is crazy, but sweet as can be. LOL She does have her moments. LOL, I refuse to put recent pics of her because she looks more innocent as a puppy. My review went well, I meant to say that we do it yearly, but it's for my 2nd year Anniversary!

Natalia- Woohooooo! You go girl!! :carrot: I'm only two lbs away, from my first 20, so I'm pretty stoked! LOL I actually started weighing myself every morning.

Meg- Hi there! No I actually don't eat the Healthy Choices, they're on sale at my market, but I always lean towards Lean Cuisine. I just think they have more flavor!

Charlene- Have fun with your new grill! When DF and I got our grill, we couldn't stop grilling our food!!! We grilled just about everything. That reminds me, we're out of propane!! Uh oh! Good luck to you on the Alli program. Keep us informed.

Milleradah-

Petra- Good luck with the 3 Day weekend, but most importantly HAVE FUN! :D

Ok....gonna cruise around on the laptop then work out!! Talk to everyone later!

Tinky009 06-21-2007 06:49 PM

Ok...I decided to change my pic to a smiling one, my DB told me that he really sees my dad when I give that look, and that's been a running joke with my family so I put up a happier smiley one! LOL

lovemyboy 06-21-2007 07:51 PM

Thanks everyone for the welcome back. :)

Lara, Thanks for posting that photo.

Theresa, Holy Cow! That is a ton of fish flys. You must be close to the lake.

Today was pretty good. I am on my high end of my range, but I did manage to avoid the leftovers from the work potluck. It is time to go water my garden and do some tidying up. Good night all!

littlered 06-21-2007 08:29 PM

Hi ladies.
Boy it been busy day. Just regular every day things.
cleaned up the garage a little. took the leaf blower and blew dead bugs off the house for about 1 hr.
cooked. cleaned, and went to work. Visited Jessie.
Nothing exciting. But a good day. ;)

Tinky.
What a beauty. love the smiling pic

Crafty mom, Way to go.:carrot: One pound at a time. that’s how we do it.

Lara,
I love the pic of you on the horse, regardless of you weight. You look like a
cute little girl there.
loved your joke too.
I never used those plastic mouse traps.
we use the yukky glue traps. Mostly they work very good. as long as the mouse gets his nose into the glue. It suffocates them very quickly.

its to funny, your buying those little 100 cal packs of goodies for your hubby.
My hubby would laugh me right out of the house on that one. I don’t eat them much my self. I prefer something that feels like it has a little substance. those seem like puffed air. I don’t feel like I ate any thing after I eat them.

I hope things get better with your daughter. That tough love… is tougher on YOU.
I am glad at this point, that my dd and I are getting along very well. I don’t envy you all that fun..

Zenor,
got to see pics of those shoes. So funny how something can ship like that.
We see it a lot here in ohio. Just mail a letter. It goes to Pennslyvania and comes back to ohio.

Charlene,
good luck with those pills. and Have fun with your grill. There are lots of fun things you can cook on the grill.

Meg,
Wow! 1989.
I had my last kid in 85. I feel OLD.
Not. Just kidding I don’t feel old.
but I did graduate in 76. So I guess in fact I am.:)

Nat,
Woooo-hoooo! :carrot:congrats, almost 20 pounds. You are going to catch up with me yet.

My official weigh in is on the First.
Curves weighs and Measures once a month.
I use my scale at home every morning. before I eat or drink.

Petra,
I want that Mouse trap. Sounds pretty humain.

Milleradah- welcome

Lovemyboy.
Yes I am a couple hundred feet away form lake Erie. Half a block.
Its nice all year. except for a few day. I can deal with it.:D

Alright its enough of the novels here. got to get moving again.
night.

zenor77 06-21-2007 11:32 PM

Calories for today~1461
Fiber~47 grams

Here's a link to the shoes I bought. I'd take of picture of my feet, but we need batteries for the camera. I got a killer deal on them, so don't think I paid that price for them (I'm a tightwad. Lol.)

http://www.shoes.com/product.asp?p=5...t_id=EC1006393

Charlene~ I had my nose pierced several years ago and had to let it close up for a job, I always missed it. So, when I reached under 200 I got it re-pierced. When you get it done make sure not to touch it too much and wash with anti-bacterial soap like they tell you! If you follow the directions for after care you shouldn't have problems with infections.

Petra~ Enjoy your long weekend!

Grammy~ I was completely knocked out for the removal of my wisdom. Lol. They gave me vallium to take before the appointment and it reduced me to a giggly motor mouthed 15 yr old. DH was laughing his butt off! The part I didn't like was the food you are supposed to eat afterwards. I can only eat so much soft food before I start wanting crunchies!

Natalia & milleradah~ :congrat: on the losses! Way to go!

Tinky~ I agree, smiling picture wins! :D

cablgurl 06-21-2007 11:44 PM

I am still here but have not been able to post for a few days. It has been a good week, been able to keep the calories to a max of 1400 per day and i have even managed to get 3 30 min workouts in. The only trouble i have had this week was drinking water only had about 40oz per day. I am going to make a point of setting a large glass beside my bed everynight and drinking it before i get out of bed every morning, I think that may help. well it getting late i am off to bed, I dont have to work tomorrow so i will have time to catch up on everyones posts.

Tinky009 06-22-2007 12:27 AM

Thanks LittleRed and Zenor, it's not like me to not display a pic of me smiling. I'm pretty much a smiling fool!

Zenor- I love the shoes!! So cute!!

Cablgurl- I have that problem with water, too, I take a big glass of it to my bedside but never really drink it. I get up enough during the night to go to the toilet anyways!

LOL I think there is something seriously wrong with me, DF and I were at the mall today.....we went to my favorite stores, and he offered to buy things for me, but what did I do? I declined everything. He was trying so hard for me to get a Tinkerbell birdbath,to makeup, to work out stuff, to some sandals, and I refused, Tinkerbell items are my obsession. He's still in shock. Oh well...I guess I was feeling too good after my work out! :dizzy:

Hi all,
I know I don't post much, but I read through this thread every day (couple times a day, actually) and I really enjoy the "conversation". You're all very inspiring in your committment to losing weight and to doing it in a healthy way!

By the way Theresa, those bugs were absolutely disgusting! I don't know how you dealt with that. You're braver than I would be!! That's one great thing about living in Southern California ~~ practically no bugs..EVER!

Total calories today: 1426
Total fiber today: 34 grams

I weigh in tomorrow am ~ Hopefully I'll be changing my ticker!!

littlered 06-22-2007 07:42 AM

Anna,
not brave. You just do what you have too. these bugs only live for a day or two. And when we get lots like this year... it means that lake erie is clean. they live in the lake.

My calories for Thursday were 1499
Fiber: 37
and 13 glasses of water= 104 oz.

AnneA 06-22-2007 10:22 AM

What The Heck?

I have to say, I haven't worked harder or more dilligently than I have this past week on losing weight and eating right. And when I weighed myself this morning, it appears I've GAINED A POUND. Needless to say, I'm a little depressed today. I'm starting to second guess myself, wondering if I should go back to counting points on WW or what. Maybe I should buy a brand new scale (mine's a little old, digital one and it reads something different every time I step on it which is why I said it "appears" I"ve gained a pound)

I always have this fear that I won't be able to lose the weight on my own, that I need some sort of diet plan like WW or Jenny Craig or I won't lose it. But I know that counting calories works! I lost weight last week.

So, here's my calories for the week:

Fri - 1535
Sat - 1433
Sun - 1320
Mon - 1659
Tue - 1499
Wed - 1610
Thu - 1426

I did 30 - 40 minutes every day (except Sunday) on the treadmill.

The rational part of me says that my body is readjusting (whatever that means, but it sounds good!) or that maybe since I've been sedentary for so long that I'm building muscle. But the irrational part of me says that I'm doomed to never lose this weight! AHHH! :?:

I won't let this discourage me. I know that if I keep eating less calories than I burn, that I will lose weight. But I'm kind of lost right now, wondering if I'm eating too many caloires, not enough... I just don't know.

Then again, it IS only 1 pound, so maybe I'm just overthinking things. I'll weigh myself tomorrow and see.

Thanks for letting me vent!!!

NurseChef 06-22-2007 10:45 AM

Week two is going well. Had to check in with my buddies here. I'm between 1800-2000 calories still. I'm hopeful that I can still lose on these high calories because I feel really good today and all this week like last week. I'd love to get about 10 lbs. off these two weeks. I'm actually aiming for two pounds. I'm watching sodium intake. My family is really my Mom at meal time who eats out every dinner. I choose grilled meats, some kind of starch without fat or salt be it sweet potato, corn, baked potato kind of thing or a couple of slices of toast. I don't always order wheat toast because Freedom Plan didn't require that and that helps out for variety sake.

All I know is that I'm sticking with it. I need to drop still 50% of my body weight to get down to realistic numbers that I weighed in the past. I'm just glad I didn't hit 300 lbs. That would have really not been a good thing.

GrammyL 06-22-2007 12:10 PM

Natalia ~ FANTASTIC! I am doing the :carrot: with you.

Petra ~ That mouse trap sounds interesting. We have woods on one side of us and field on the other plus we have hay for the horses. We usually can count on at least 2 mice a year but last year it was more like 5, must of been a good year for them. We never have had one in the summer before so we are worried that it will be bad this year.

Littlered ~ I have never heard of a glue trap before. I think I just prefer my good old fashion wooden trap that kills them instantly. A person here at work uses a live trap and then sets the free but at my place all that would do is mean they were coming back and I don't want the nasty things in my house.

Did you all know that a mouse can't control its bladder? It continuously is letting flued out as needed. SICK! Dirty Jobs had an exterminator on the program once and he said that is why they are so dangerous to humans and other animals because we can't see that they went potty there and they have. Just makes me gag!

AnnaA ~ Do you live near the part of California that has the high snale population. OH MY GOSH! When I was a kid, 1976 to be exact, we went to visit my grandparents that lived in Orange County. Every night and morning there were snales everywhere. It was gross because you had to step on them to walk down the sidewalk there were so many you couldn't avoid it. I think they had to invent Escargo just to bring the population of snales down. Yep, I don't remember many bugs.

Zenor ~ I really like those shoes!

NurseChef ~ Eating out is always hard for me. I go with good intentions, review the menu with good intentions and then order what I know I shouldn't. VERY flustrated with myself on that. This week the one meal I did eat out I ordered exactly what I said I was going to and gave myself a big pat on the back. I just need to do that more often.

AnnaA ~ I have a book call "Best Life Diet", Oprah's friend. The book is very interesting and so many of the things he says are things I have always thought after years of dieting. So, maybe I know more than I think. Anyway, I am off the subject. I wanted to tell you one of the things he states is before you start his plan, which is very free, that you first start with exercise. That is the first step. Then he wants you to start incorporating healthy foods, his lowest calorie plan I think was 1600 calories but don't quote me on it because it has been a while since I read the book, I just restarted this week. During the first month he ask that you weigh and measure the first day and for the next month you are not to do either. He said if you want to judge your progress judge it by the way your cloths fit. Water weight plays to much of a variable in how much we weigh. Our weight can't tell us if we are losing fat and gaining muscle. Also, when we exercise our muscle retains more water if we stay hydrated and we have more blood volume. So, if you are exercising, staying hydrated then chances are you are fine. Don't let the scale be your end all. Give yourself a pat on the back for making healthy steps to the new you. I know its hard, I get upset when the scale doesn't go down. I have to say I don't weigh much less than I did a month ago but I have pants on today that fit comfortably that I used to squish into and the legs are actually lose.

Ok, well we sold my DD's horse last night. We just went and cashed the check so we knew it was good before they pick her up tonight. Its bitter sweet because we have had her 5 years but at the same time why feed a horse that is just standing out there. She is going to a horse family, the Dad is a jokey and the Mom shows horses. The Mom is kind with her and the Dad asks a bit much but Lady will be at the Mom's house. They bought her for their daughter but I have the feeling she will end up their sons. He is afraid of horses and he feel in love with her and the Mom said it was a first that he asked if he could ride her. He actually got on three different times. I would rather see the Son have her since the daughter really wants a speed horse and that is no Lady.

We have a few leads on cart pony packages to go look at. Sounds like a toy doesn't it. LOL! We are looking to get the cart, pony and harness as a package deal so we know everything fits right. My cart is to big for my pony and my harness some parts fit and some don't. The harness works but the cart is not the most comfortable for me or my pony. Now that I know I am going to stick with it, its worth investing in something better.

OK, enough talking your ears off. I will check back a little later.

edzard 06-22-2007 12:38 PM

Well things are and aren't going so well....glad to see all the posts I am a sahm that homeschools with the occasional house cleaning to supplement our income, and so I come here a lot and look for updates.

Tinky we are very similar, both in the seattle are (we live in bothell) and both are aiming for similar goals! Maybe I need to catch up to you! Something to keep me really motivated, see if I can catch you lol.

AnnaA don't let it get you down with the scale, my weight varies day by day and hour by hour depending on foods and hormones and such. Once I got on the scale as soon as I woke (after going to the bathroom) then I got back on as I got in the shower about an hour later. Minus one cami I had managed to "lose" a pound and a half, don't think my cami weighs that much! lol One method of weigh in I have seen that seems intriguing to battle the fluxes is to average you daily weigh ins over a week. Also if you scale reads different when you step on it over and over again, you might want to find a more reliable one.

Littlered love to see your ticker, your someone who is doing it! You have made a lot of progress so far. So many of you have significant changes and I can't wait to be one of you.

Well things here have been good and bad, I have a kidney infection so I am on some icky medicine. Also my hubby just got informed that major changes are going on at work and his salary job is basically gonna be a prison with people constantly looking over their shoulders! Ugh so now we are reworking budgets so that way if its bad in a few months from now he can try looking around for a new job. Thusly two bad eating days!!! Indulged in a martini two nights in a row and then dinner added up faster than expected, sigh.

BUT the doctor confirmed I am down 5 pounds from my start weight by both my scales and theirs and even after two bad days, the loss is still there! It won't be official til Monday's weigh in but I am happy! Its motivation to behave over the weekend, and maybe even add a pound to the loss ;) . So I have met my June goal if it sticks!

Well have a great weekend everyone and keep posting to motivate us slackers who like to lurk and read and only occasionally post.

Lara That mouse trap is awesome, I highly recommended it. All you have to do when the light is going off is take it to the trash and dump them in there. No touching them nothing. Course I won't get that close to it when it is blinking. I seen one in our garage last week I think and I was like what the heck are they doing in here it's summer? I hope that it won't be bad. But it sounds like you guys are pretty lucky will only have 2 a year.

Anne Just stay on track with what you are doing. It sounds like you are doing the right things. Sometimes the scale don't coperate with me either. But all in all it will work out in the end.

Well I had a doctor's appointment today. They are doing blood test to make sure that everything is ok. My period has been acting crazy since I started my healthier lifestyle. So of course they are checking my blood and all that. But he was very impressed with my weight loss. From the last time I was there Nov. when I weighed 184 to today when I weighed 140. But I told the nurse well this morning I was 138.2, of course that was naked, lol. He said that a good weight for me would be 130. I told him that I was thinking between 130-125 so that is all good. He did say that I am at a good weight right now. But I should be fit too. Which I am getting better everyday with getting fit. So that was a plus!!! And he put me on Chantix to help quit smoking, I hope that it won't make me gain weight, it's not suppose to be a side effect. So I will start taking that tomorrow and then I am suppose to quit sometime next week. So we will see how that goes. Well I am going to take a little nap before our fun at the festival tonight.

I am having a great day! My calories are under control and I have managed to drink 56 oz of water so far today. I just need to find some time to fit in some exercise, I think I may see if the kids want to go for a walk tonight, if not I will be sure to hop on my eliptical.

Grammy- Have you thought about getting a cat? The previous owners of our house had mouse trouble but we have not had a problem, we have 2 cats. The mice tend to stay away, our house is not a safe place for them.

Well I changed my ticker back to 162. It just keeps bouncing this week.
Oh well. IT WILL GO DOWN. I am sure.
at its own speed… what ever that is.

Lara,
I just got the book by Dr Bob too. I have not read it yet.
Have you tried his plan?

I am interested to here how people like the diet.
Might even go check out that forum after I read the book.

I am sorry to hear you had to sell the horse. That must be like
loosing a family member. OW. Our dog is like a kid to us.
my hubby calls her our second daughter. :D
When do you get the pony cart?
And...Oh! you can talk our ears off anytime you want. That
includes the rest of you too. :carrot:

Edzard,
congrats on the 5 pounds.:carrot: that’s just fantastic.
and its about what I loose every month. Keep it up!

thanks… as you can see I moved my ticker back up. like I said above.
it will be back down soon!

hang in there with the problems at hubby’s job. It will get better.
Maybe try going for a walk when you get stressed. I like to expend
energy when stressed. It helps get the tension out.

Mary,
that is an impressive number of pounds to loose.
How long did it take?
Good Luck with the smoking. I quite about 5 yrs ago. I don’t miss it at all. Most of the time.:o

Here is a joke I received today…

Flat Tire

A blonde's car gets a flat tire on the Interstate one day , so she eases it over onto the shoulder of the road. She carefully steps out of the car and opens the trunk. Takes out two cardboard men, unfolds them and stands them at the rear of the vehicle facing oncoming traffic.

The lifelike cardboard men are in trench coats exposing their nude bodies to approaching drivers…
Not surprisingly, the traffic became snarled and backed up. It wasn't very long before a police car arrives. The Officer, clearly enraged, approaches the blond of the
disabled vehicle yelling,

"What is going on here?"
"My car broke down, Officer" says the woman, calmly.
"Well, what the **** are these obscene cardboard pictures doing here by the road?!" asks the Officer...
"Hellooo, those are my emergency flashers!" she explained.

gotta go, time for work. see ya later girls.

AnneA 06-22-2007 03:31 PM

Lara - You're absolutely right. Thanks for writing that! I must go out and get that book (I've been thinking about it). It just gets a little frustrating when the numbers don't go down like you think they're going to. But some of my clothes are definitely feeling a little more comfortable so I just have to keep that in mind and not worry so much about the numbers!

Edzard and Petra - Thanks for your kind words! I know the number on the scale shouldn't be everything but it's nice to be reminded once in a while!

Well, I'm off to a movie with my kid. Have a good day everyone!

littlered 06-22-2007 07:54 PM

Ok
wake up girls.
here is another laugh.
hope it doesn't offend. I thougt it funny. ;)

Girls night out

Two women friends had gone out for a Girls Night Out, and had been decidedly over-enthusiastic on the cocktails. Incredibly drunk and walking home they suddenly realized they both needed to pee. They were very near a graveyard and one of them suggested they do their business behind a headstone or something. The first woman had nothing to wipe with so she took off her panties, used them and threw them away. Her friend however was wearing an expensive underwear set and didn't want to ruin hers, but was lucky enough to salvage a large ribbon from a wreath that was on a grave and proceeded to wipe herself with it. After finishing, they made their way home.

The next day the first woman's husband phones the other husband and said, "These damn girls nights out have got to stop. My wife came home last night without her panties." "That's nothing," said the other. "Mine came back with a sympathy card stuck between the cheeks of her butt that said, 'From all of us at the Fire Station, Well never forget you!'

LOL Littlered!

Well, I'm still practicing my culinary skills in the kitchen. Trying to stick with superfoods, but giving in a little here and there for hubby.

This weeks dinners:

Spaghetti Pie
Sweet Potato Tacos
Tuna pasta salad
Lentil Loaf
lasagna type dish with WW pasta

CoolMom75 06-22-2007 09:30 PM

I also wanted to report....

I had a post partum doctor's appt (kinda late since my baby is 3 months old) and they weighed me. I am only 15 pounds away from my pre-preg weight after gaining 80. I was really hoping for a ribbon or a pat on the back, but <sigh> no recognition at all. The kindergartner in me wanted to go home with a gold star. LOL

crafty mommy 06-22-2007 09:37 PM

littlered - love the jokes.

edzard - Congrats on the 5 pound loss!! That's awesome. :cb:

Vacation is hard. It's so much harder to keep track of what I'm eating and how many calories I'm consuming when we're always out doing something or out eating something. I've got my fingers crossed.

I'm watching old episodes of Biggest Loser right now. I love this show. This is the short version that was two "teams" against each other and only lasts 2 episodes and they win $50,000.

Have a great night everyone! :D

Calories for today~ 1463
Fiber~ 32 grams

We had a BBQ at work today, so I had a large lunch and a light dinner. It worked well, I think. I brought potato salad, a veggie dog to throw on the grill, and a whole wheat bun. There was plenty of fruit and pickles too (but not together :D.) I even had a beer. Yes, I know it's weird that we had beer at a work function during the work day. When you work in the wine industry, well, stranger things have happened.

Littlered~

Coolmom~ Here you go. There aren't any gold star smilies, so here's a dancing banana! :cb: Getting 15lbs away from your pre-preg weight in 3 months is amazing!

AnnaA~ I had a digital scale that gave me grief too. It would come up with a different number every time I stepped on it (even when I had just stepped on it.) So I got rid of it and bought an analog scale (sometimes old school works better for me.) I love my newer scale and now I don't have the frustration that I had with the other scale.

edzard~ :woohoo: on the 5lbs lost!

Grammy~ A co-worker showed me an interesting mouse trap today (we have a problem at work with them. Ick!) This trap was the snap kind, but it was covered (with a hole for the mouse to go in.) So you don't have to look at the mouse and there's a lever to empty it. You don't have to touch the trap to empty it. I thought it was a neat idea and it looked heavy duty.

Charlene Dahhling 06-22-2007 10:05 PM

I went and saw Evan Almighty today. It was okay, but nothing special in my opinion. Wanda Sykes is hilarious though!

I really just prefer watching stuff off our DVR here at home. HA! Has anyone been watching "Traveler"? That is one of the BEST shows on this summer! I love it. So thrilling and everything.

I've been looking at these fake iPod Shuffles on eBay. I wonder if they work...

Lara ~ That story was hilarious! Tongue piercing? Eh, not for me!! I want an itty bitty ball in my nose too, nothing big. I noticed you seem to love horses, I'm sorry you had to give yours up. I've NEVER ridden a horse, EVER I don't know why, I just never had. We had a dog but we had to give him up because he kept trying to eat our little dog. (He was huge!)

Meg ~ That's so cool! I really want mine done. BTW : I go for the lean cuisines and smart choice things by weight watchers. I didn't know you were 17! Me too. :)

Natalia ~ Congrats on the weight loss, I bet you'll be at 20lbs in no time!

Tinky ~ I love the smiling picture too. So cute!

Anne ~ I'm sure you'll get that pound off soon. AND MORE!

NurseChef ~ I know what you mean about 300lbs. I really was scared of getting to that myself. I'm way too young for that kind of weight. Thing is, apparently I don't look my weight. Or at least that's what I've been told, but I don't think so.

edzard ~ A friend of mine had a terrible kidney infection and was out of school for like 3 weeks, and she can no longer have caffeine. (She drank a power drink called "Monster" all the time!

littlered ~ :rofl2: Those are so funny! I love stories like that, but I never seem to get them in e-mails anymore.

Crafty Mommy ~ I know exactly what you mean, I went on vacation a couple of weeks ago. I like ate everything. Luckily I've lost the weight I gained! :carrot:

Coolmom ~ Congrats on the weight loss, you're doing great!

I'm gonna go watch a show! TTYL! Bye!

Meg1989 06-22-2007 11:08 PM
