Littlered~ You should have on of the sales ladies measure you at the store. It makes a world of difference! Once you know your size you'll still need to try on lots to see what style you like best (different styles fit differently.) Because I lose weight all over, I've found that I have to buy a new bra for every 16 lbs I lose. It gets expensive though. I've gone a long time with out getting a new one this time and I'm definitely wearing "baggy" bras at the moment. I'm trying to hold out until my birthday to go bra shopping. You get a discount on your birthday at the Playtex outlet here.
Oh, DH got his first job interview set up today! It's over the phone with a college in upstate New York (brrrr... cold winters.) :crossed: I think he feels better now to have an interview somewhere. He's put out so many applications and he's very good at what he does (yes I'm biased) so I'm sure he'll get quite a few interviews. It's just hard to be patient. |
Hey Zenor
:crossed: for your hubby. I might get measured this week end. I just need to find out where to go. I don't think we have one of those outlets near us. Although that is what I wear. when you say you loose a size per 16 pounds... is that cup or around? |
Wow! This forum goes by fast!!
I'm not gonna be back posting until Sunday, so bye-bye everyone! Wish me luck that I don't gain too much. We'll probably be walking 5 miles or so everyday, but I'm still worried. I also got taken out to lunch today by my grandparents because of graduation. It's been almost a week and I'm still getting free food. LOL! I got my hair done yesterday, and I  it! I got it with a big red streak in the middle and a red-violet tint through the back. (Which my mom paid for, as yet another grad present!!:)) It used to be past my shoulders and now it's just a little bit under my chin. I was afraid to get to too short because of my fat face, but it actually looks okay. I'm gonna go pack some more stuff. See you guys next Sunday, and forgive me if I come back confused! :p <3 Charlene |
Littlered~ Band size not cup (darn!) I'm still a D, but I was a 42 when I started and I think I may be a 36 now. I need to get measured.
Charlene~ Your hair sound cute! I think short hair looks good on women of all sizes. I had super short (pixie cut) hair for a long time and now I'm growing it out. Of course, now it's never styled and always pulled back, but whatever. Oh, and have fun! |
Went out to eat tonight, after hubby got home from a week long business trip, and I spent 1500 cals on chicken parm (gasp!). So it was a 2500 cal day. I haven't eaten that much in one sitting for a few months. I was stuffed!
Back on track now. :) |
Calories for today~ 1419
Fiber~ 34 grams Everyone have a great weekend! |
LittleRed- Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Working out has helped me cope, otherwise, I would eaten myself to the point where I'll burst!
Ok...bra question, if they keep slipping down, and I strap it at the third thingy does that mean I have an ill fitting bra? Zenor- :goodluck: to your DH! Wow, NY....so you may end up going to the East Coast! Hey, I went to TJ and bought some Uncle Sam cereal, I'm excited to try it tomorrow morning. Kashi is good, but I need some variety. Go Lean crunch ends up hurting my jaw. :) Charlene- I know you're on your vacation, but have a great time!!! And your hair sounds pretty cute, I want to cut mine short as well. CoolMom- Just consider it your "treat" night. Calories for today...1560 and tons of water! Good Night everyone!!!!!! Have a great weekend. |
Bad, bad days Thursday and Friday. :( I went over by 200 calories on Thursday and Friday I went over by 300. I'm overdue (no, not pregnant, happens every month) for that TOM, and I just couldn't help myself. I really, really tried not to go over. :(
|
Hi everyone! Wow, there are so many awesome people posting here, and it's great to see such support for everyone! I'm really excited to hear that losing weight changes your bra size- because my cup and number sizes never seem to coincide, and I've never found a bra that fit quite right! I'm really excited about my weigh-in on Monday, but I've definitely been peeking along the way, so I think I'm going to go all week, next week, without once stepping foot on the scale.
Oh, Charlene- I know you're gone for the weekend, (have fun! :D ), but I was wondering if August 6 had any special meaning for you, other than for your weight-loss goal. I ask because it's my birthday ^^ |
First day with hubby back (awesome) and I wake up to a coffee and a donut. LOL Gotta love him. Luckily it was already in my custom foods on Fitday. I guess I've been there before.
Have a great weekend! Clarinator, you have Monday weigh-ins too? I love the Monday weigh-in. It keeps me more accountable on the weekends. |
Did you say donut!? I live by a Krispy Kreme too. LOL Ok, I gotta avoid driving by there.
Aahhhh it's all rainy today, I sure could go out and get a big bowl of noodle soup. Hmm..may have to fit that in my calorie budget. Well see you later. |
yep, 300 cals just for the donut and creamer in the coffee. I just did a workout of walk away the pounds, so its all good. :D
|
Tinky~ Yup. It sounds like an ill fitting bra to me. I half-heartily looked last night when we went to get DH dress shoes, but I'm either bloated (TOM coming) or I'm still between sizes. I've decided that when I reach goal I'm going to splurge on "pretty" under garments. I've always been a utiliatrian type of gal when it comes to that kind of stuff.
I hope you like the Uncle Sam! Try adding berries or a Tablespoon or two of raisins to it. Yummy! Clairinator~ :welcome: CoolMom~ Isn't it nice to be able to splurge and know that you can squeeze it into your daily cals without a problem! It must be nice to have your DH back; I go crazy when DH is gone and I don't have little ones to look after. :) |
Hi girls
Boy I should have stayed home today!!! I ate to much sugar. I will probly see the scales go up in the morning. Oh well. Just have to work hard this week. I did it. I know it. and I have to be good this week. I had a graduation party to help run. I made an ice cream cake. Ate some of that. Had a piece of the regular cake. and some chocolate from a choc. fountain.mmm I did eat good stuff too. ;) Well I have dishes to do. so later girls see ya in the am. |
Hey! good news.
even though I was bad today.:o I have been watching all week in preparation for the party. Average calories for the last 7 days....1486 Not so bad after all.:carrot::D that and I am on glass 14 for today of water. That should help too. |
Hey everyone! Accountability time...today DF and I went to lunch at a Thai Restaurant, we both split a Chicken Phad Thai, and a Tom Kha Gai Soup (Chicken coconut soup). They are both rich dishes, and I enjoyed it! LOL....though tonight I'm going to do 60 mins of cardio, to add to my 20 mins this morning. I figured if I'm going to eat rich dishes, I need to pay my body back and work out! :running: LOL Ok.....just needed to get that off my chest.
Zenor- Well DF noticed that my boobs have shrunk, it takes guys forever to notice something. LOL! So now I know why...hmmm I'll wait till I go down a bit more before I invest in a new bra. But I did tell myself too, that when I reach my goal, I'm splurging at Victoria's Secret. Hahhahahahah! Ok...back to cooking my meal! |
Calories for today~ 1436
Fiber~ 37 grams Hopefully I can stay away from the chocolate chip cookies I made today (my count includes 2 of them!) I had to go into another room and shut the door earlier just so I wouldn't be able to smell them. I made them because one of our friends was supposed to come visit, but he had car troubles. I was hoping to send all the extras home with him. Oh well, DH can take them to work on Monday. I just have to be strong between now and then. It'll be hard since TOM is coming up. Littlered~ Great job on saving up calories! I always forget to do that. Tinky~ Good Thai food is worth it from time to time! It's funny, I could give up all sorts of yummy fattening things, but don't take away my favorite ethnic foods (Thai, Japanese, Korean, Indian, Ethiopian, etc.) |
Oh yeah it was totally worth it, didn't feel guilty at all! The spice was just about right, sometimes they don't get it right, but today we wanted 4 star and we got it! LOL I love Ethiopian food too!! Alot of my co-workers are Ethiopian and they're always bringing in food. Love the Injera. I love korean, I love it all. I guess thanks to my mixed background, I love just about any food~ LOL~
|
Mhhhmmmm Chocolate Chip cookies, that's my weakness, especially home made ones!!! Both you and CoolMom have me drooling today! LOL
|
LOL! Weekends are a little tougher aren't they? I got right back on track by having Fiber One for lunch. Otherwise I don't get the high fiber day.
Zenor, I have granny panties going on here. :D I tease my hubby that I got him locked down in marriage while I was thin and then could let it all hang out (gained 80 pounds in the first 6 months of marriage with pregnancy) and then shake my granny panty butt. I always buckle down and lose it all within the first year after having the baby, so he puts up with my wisecracks. |
CoolMom75, Monday weigh-ins are now my best friend :D...I'm done being freaked out by constantly weighing myself in (I did that the last time I did a psuedo diet-esque dealy, haha... I guess I figured that just by knowing what I weighed, I'd automatically lose weight...go figure!).
|
Clarinator- :welcome2: LOL I was so busy drooling over cookies and donuts yesterday, that I didn't get to welcome you! Better late than never. I'm glad you can join us here. We have a great support system here...all of the ladies are wonderful and can provide great knowledge too. Don't be bashful either, say whatever is on your mind.
CoolMom- Weekends are the hardest, especially if DF is home with me. Though he's getting better with supporting me on weekends, otherwise I would eat like crazy! LittleRed- Mmmm I say have you cake and eat it too....in moderation. :D Great going at keeping your calories down. Hopefully it will even out. That's what I'm hoping for! LOL |
Aww, thanks Tinky, and to everyone else who welcomed me too! I'm so glad to be here, this is going to be an awesome resource for eating healthier and losing weight :D, not to mention a great community!

Hey guys! I know i've been MIA for a week or two but i have been so so busy. Making last minute changes to my european vacation, taking exams, eating right, and exercise really take it out of a person. I have been calorie counting and I think I have finally found my secret formula! Eat 1100 calories and burn off 500. This creates a 1000 defecit and so far i'm down 5.5 pounds! My goal was to lose 6 pounds by tomorrow so i see it as a huge success!
My european vacation is three weeks long and I think my plan will be to eat frutis, veggies, and lean proteins with a slice of bread here and there. I would love to lose 10 pounds while i'm there because i've heard a lot of people lose weight. Well i just wanted to check in and share my good news.... hope all is well for everyone else! |
Ok...I was going to wait to see if I lost any more and post on Tuesday, but I decided to jump on the scale and for both days it read the same so I met my first goal! :carrot: Good bye 190's!! LOL
|
Calories for today~ 1463
Fiber~ 38 grams RockNRoll~ You are going to be doing a lot of walking! Most people I've known to lose weight said it was because of all the walking. Have fun! Tinky~ WoooHooo! |
Hi everyone I'm new here i also have just recently started counting calories and ive already lost 8 lbs its so awesome! Any suggestions on dieting with calorie counting? I also want to know if any of you are excersising and what you do to excersise?:D
|
Morning Folks! Hi Meg1989, good choice on the calorie counting and good work so far. My tip? Lean proteins and things that grow. Walk, walk, walk and lift weights.
Quicky summary for last week ... I had on average 1620 cals and lost .7 of a pound. Exercise was pathetically sporatic :D |
HI, Welcome Meg
Calorie counting is the best. If you eat healthy and excercise, it will come off. If you change the way you eat as a life change it will stay off.:D My calories for sunday. 1502 fiber 45 Down to 163.4 this morning. Gee, Zenor, trying to keep up with you is a work out itself. :goodscale Rocknroll. sounds like you have been very busy! Good for you. keeps you out of trouble. Sounds like a wonderful vacation. Can't even imagine doing that. I still have not made it to canada. Next summer I plan to do something special. maybe niagra. We have our 30th coming up next summer. a good reason to play. Tinky, congrats on the loss! keep it up girl. Quote:
Yup! I did. and still came down this morning. :D well must get off so I can go to curves. later;) |
Zenor- Thanks! LOL It feels so good. I haven't seen the 180's for a while. Not since DF and I got together. But its not like I want to stay here or anything! LOL :p
Meg- Hello, :welcome: You found the right place to come to. Everyone here is great! As for advice....based off my experiences so far, Eat as clean as you can. Drink lots of water, get your fiber in, and exercise. Even if you only have time for 10 min intervals, just do it! ;) Allow yourself to have a treat day here and there. Life is too short, but everything in moderation is ok! I find it that if I do eat something that's not as good, I make up for it by working out harder. I also am trying to work on not being so hard on myself. If life were meant to be perfect, like I said before we would be walking around in bikinis! LOL Well good luck to you! Sorry this is so long. LittleRed- Wooohoooo to you too!! You go girl! When do you get to change your ticker??? |
Tinky
I have decided to wait till its 163.0 Maybe for at least 1 whole day ;) soon! |
Hi everyone,
This is my first time doing Calorie Counting. I lost 40 lbs 5 years ago on WW and of course it's all come back (and then some). I started a FitDay journal and am determined to keep track of everything beginning this week. Unfortunately, I hurt my back a week ago Saturday and was on my back Mon-Thu of last week. I didn't want to get on the scale this morning (Monday is my weigh-in day) but I did and......I maintained, no loss. I guess I'm happy I didn't gain any weight. But for laying on my back and doing virtually no exercise, maintaining is pretty good! I'm a little nervous about calorie counting because I've always felt like I can't lose weight if I'm not at WW or involved in some other plan. So this is like I'm on my own, which is good since I'll be eating this way for the rest of my life! This forum has already been a big motivator for me! |
Hi everyone! I'm new too. I just started my diet today. :carrot:
My husband got me a CalorieKing diet diary and I have my whole eating day planned out. I'll be eating about 1333 calories today. My goal is around 1350 daily. Have a fabulous day Ladies! |
New to calorie counting
Hi everyone
I am new to calorie counting but so far it is moving along wonderfully. I am down about 12 lbs. and going strong. |
Hi Anna, Craftymom, and Slim.
:welcome: this is a great place to start. Counting calories really does work. Might not be as fast as some other programs. but from what I hear... It will stay off...if you keep up the counting and moving. good luck. |
Wow! So many new people... :welcome3: Meg, Anna, Crafty, & Slim! Did I miss anyone?
My hints for calories counting are PLAN, PLAN, and PLAN some more! My DH laughs at me because I plan my food out for the day on the night before. It really helps me because I don't have to think about what to eat. I would also recommend getting lots of fiber (from fruits and veg preferably) and water! Also, excess sodium will cause you to bloat, so keep that it mind. As far as exercise I walk. Littlered~ When did this become a competition? Lol. :D You are doing great! I can't wait to see you lower that ticker! |
I just got my last work out in! 8 miles biking - hard trail and only 34 minutes whew! I'm super excited for vacation and I bought a journal so i can write down my food. I know all the calories for vegetables and meat... should i print off a cheat sheet for fruits before i go? That way I can estimate calories while in Europe?
Thanks! and great job everyone :) |
Thanksforall the advice everyone! I usually walk 2 miles a day is that enough? Also, HI crafty mommy i also just bought a calorie king book and i carry it aroud wtih me in my food journal EVERYWHERE! Also, i was wondering everyone....Why do grapes and bananas have so many calories! wow a large bunch of grapes has 305 calories.....
|

It is good incentive for me to try to keep up with you younger girls. Just having fun. My dd and I are sort of compeating... We are only about 3 pounds different. (I secretly want her to try to stay ahead of me. ) Seems like its a little incentive to her too. She can't let mom get ahead :D I hope to change my ticker this week.:carrot::carrot::carrot: One pound at a time. Its better than gaining. |
Wow.....:wel3fc: Anna, Crafty, and Slim!!!! Calorie Counting does work, otherwise I wouldn't have lost the 10+lbs!!!
Meg- Walking 2 miles a day helps!! Every little helps!!! I'm thinking it's the sugar content thats in grapes and bananas. Or you can always google it. ;) |
