Good Morning,
Zoe, I have to tell you…that loosing that much weight in 3 months is beyond words. :congrat: I also wanted to see Knocked Up. Thanks for the reviews. We need to too sharing our reviews. It is better than the reviews on tv. What is a sweet potato taco? I love both foods. but I have never thought about mixing them. Zenor, That must have been one of the most fun BBQ’S around. Your healthy food and a little extra refreshments. I can say…I have never seen beer at a company picnic. At least not in the open. ;) Charlene I have been wanting to see that movie. Would you advise to wait for the dvd to come out? I agree about Wanda S. She is too funny. I did watch the Traveler once. It just did not keep my attention. My Calories for Friday 1680 fiber-38 Water- 12 glasses I was bad yesterday. I ate cheesecake! :fr: At work they had a cheese cake with Leftover’s. you Don’t dare tell the patients. If one gets a 2nd piece…and there was only about 8 pc. extra. This was my first pc. of Cheese cake since March 1st. AND MY HEAD DID NOT EXPLODE! And the world is still here. ;) Wow! When I got on the scale today…back to 161. I am just bouncing all over the place. |
Theresa I started loosing weight on Jan 1 2007. I want to be at goal by August 15, when we go to the races at MIS. At first I didn't think that I would make it. But now I am kinda thinking that I will...Hopefully.
Well we have the Parade today. She didn't win the princess thing so she don't have to ride the float. But we are going to watch the parade. They can't go on any more rides either. I bought them each 1 sheet of tickets before the fair when they were "Cheaper" and told them that's all I could spend. Because of those being 15 a piece I didn't think that the rides would have to take so many tickets, but no they all took at least 3 tickets if not 4. They had a great time, but were disappointed that they can't ride anymore rides. So the parade will be the last thing we do. Which I can say is fine with me, I have way too much stuff to do around here. Well gotta get going. Mary |
Good morning and I hope all is well with you. I haven't been on for along time so my handle is abigi7 or my name is really Kate. I have to lose 130 and am on a 1500 calorie diet. I try to stay on whole wheat products along with fresh foods to. I have tried alot of diets especially low carb and that doesn't seem to work for me so here I go again with calories and WW. I do Weight Wtachers on my on for I am on a set income and can't afford to go to meetings. I will give you all my support and hope you give me yours.
Have a great and wonderfull week end and talk to you tomorrow. abigi7 |
Hi Kate, This is a great place for support and encouragement. Welcome back!
|
What do you guys think of this mp3 player on eBay. It's kind of a total rip off of an iPod Shuffle but half the price and double the space. Your opinions? The guy has good feedback and all, but I'm still unsure.
iPod Shuffle - Kinda Meg ~ It was okay, and it was kinda funny, it's just not as funny as I thought it would be. One of my friends thought it was like the best movie ever! IDK though. It was only rated PG, so... CoolMom ~ I really wanna see that movie, it looks hilarious! littlered ~ Like I said, it was okay, but I personally would wait. Especially with the price of movie tickets, a lot of my friends are gonna wait until it goes over to the 99 cents theater. (Yeah, we actually have a 99 cents theater.) Kate ~ :welcome3: Good luck! Gotta go eat lunch, I'm starving! Bye! |
Littlered here's the Sweet Potato Tacos recipe:
Quote:
|
coolmom - that sweet potato taco recipe looks yummy. I've had potato tacos before that are really tasty.
meg - I like celebrity fit club too, but I didn't like that they only focused on the screech drama this last season. I'd rather see the other stuff. They are both inspirational shows. Makes me want to exercise. abigi - Welcome. :welcome2: I had that same problem with WW and JC. I wanted to join but couldn't afford to. It's okay. Calorie counting is working, and it's only cost is food. I'm going to a family birthday party today. The only thing I'm a little weary about is that I come from a family who LOVES food (which is why I ended up this weight) and I know if I don't eat enough they're going to think that I don't like their food. And when I say I don't want rice they're going to look at me like I'm absolutely insane. :yikes: haha. Gotta love family. I do have extra calories saved for dinner. So I can have a larger dinner than normal, but not LARGE. My idea of large has changed. :D I'll have to get in some :ebike: today before we go. Have a great day Ladies! |
Hey all!!! Wow, Saturday is almost gone already, what happened to the day? Oh that's right, I stayed in bed until 11 today! LOL
Edzard- :broc: Congratulations on the 5lb loss!!! CoolMom-:cheer: Keep it Lady! You're doing great! CraftyMommy- Your family sounds like my DF's aunt! She forces us to eat when we go there, and if you don't she takes it personal!!! DF told me that Filipinos are that way. LOL! Well his parents are more laid back, I usually bring my own brown rice or food if I need to. Good Luck to you! Abigi- Welcome Back!! Good Luck to you! Petra- Have a great time!!!! Charlene- DF told me to not get anything but an Ipod, and not it's generic version. He said you can get a refurbished one for about 49.00. I remember when we had 99 cent theaters too, but that's when I lived in Albuquerque. LittleRed- I loved the jokes! Aren't meals fun at the retirement home? Sometimes they act like kids! I work with the population that don't have the greatest memory, so when they have their meals one gets something, and the other who ordered the second option wants what the other resident has. LOL that was a mouthful. Just be careful though, alot of the meals at retirement are sometimes high in calories, since older folks don't eat as much as we do. ;) I want to see Knocked Up too! It looks funny! I want to see it because it has the girl from Grey's Anatomy!! Well gonna have a light work out before bed. We have our 3.1 mile walk tomorrow. I hope it doesn't rain!!! That would be bad! Well good night everyone!! Keep up the great work!! |
I managed to keep my daily calories below 1400, even after a slice of pizza and a maragrita tonight. I was also able to drink over 80 ounces of water. And for exercise today I took the kids for a bike ride (the last time I rode a bike was about 15 years ago, its true that you never forget how to ride a bike). I hope I am able to do this good tomorrow!
:welcome: back Kate! |
Calories for today~ 1857
Fiber~ 27 grams :o We had friends over tonight for dinner. It was a Pinot-fest (they brought the wine~4 bottles although we only opened 2.) I made healthy food, but the wine and dessert put be over. Oh well, that's still under what I hope to maintain at, so I won't worry too much. I may try to go a bit lower tomorrow to compensate. Time to clean the kitchen up, I'll try to catch up on posts in the next few days. |
Calories for Saturday
1614 fiber: 35 12 glasses of water I was supposed to have yesterday off… I didn’t. there is a bug going around here. And So far I have been lucky!:) Saturday is the day my son and his family spend here with us. I cook something and we spend the day together. They did spend part of the day here. I made Sloppy Joes, Baked Beans, a salad, CHIPS! And fruit for dessert. All in all. I did ok. my weight is back down to 160.8 I am not changing the ticker for a while. till my weight stays in a place longer. Tinky, You are sooo right about the patients. Forgetting what They ordered for dinner. Happens at least once every few days. Most of mine take what ever we give them, like it’s the best food in the world. I don’t eat there at all. Except the once…the cheese cake. Zoe, thanks for the recipe. I will try that one later this week. Have you ever added the seasoning for taco’s to it. When you fry the tortilla crisp… doesn’t it break when you fold the food into it? Kate, abigi7:wave: Welcome to the group. This is a very diversified group of girls here. But a good bunch. with lots of knowledge and support. |
Theresa..I don't know about the taco seasoning. This is a entirely different taste, very sweet. And the tortillas are just warmed up in the pan so they should still be soft. :)
|
Hey all!! We had a nice walk, it looks like the weather was quite cooperative. Now it's all rainy and crappy out! LOL The 3.1 mile was very nice. I walked and jogged it. I felt so accomplished after I crossed the finish line. It gave me a goal to run it next year. LOL!
Zenor- Mmmm Pinot! I love Pinot Noir and the white too. LittleRed- The only thing I do eat is the soup and salad. That's really about it. LOL. We don't have too bad of food, but sometimes I do wonder about it! LOL Well DF and I had Chinese food, LOL after I vowed not to have it for a while, but I was craving it and thought I deserved it. So I had it and it was yummy. Though tonight I'm feeling the need for some cereal. Just something about cereal at night sounds so good! LOL! Well talk to you all later! |
HI Alll
quite day. worked again today. I will work 13 straight befor I get one off. Due to illness of my coworkers. Today cal: 1560 fiber: 36 water: average for the last 7 day. 1500 cal. 39 gr. fiber. Is there a chart that tell when one is obese vs. just overweight? just wanted to know when I will leave the obese list. |
I went and saw Knocked Up today. It was hilarious! I give it 4.5 stars, because it was kind of risk-a. (I don't know how to spell it, so I spelled it like it sounds. :p) It was a really good movie! I :love:d it!
I got it 64 oz. of water today! YAY! I haven't gotten in that much all week. Phew! We went to Outback tonight, and I stayed healthy, pretty much. I switched to the daily plate because FitDay just wasn't working for me. Tinky ~ I decided not to get one anyway, because I heard the same thing from my friends too. :) cablgurl ~ As sad as it may sound, I cannot ride a bike. :( I'm gonna go, I'm exhausted from running errands all day! Bye! |
Calories for today~ 1448
Fiber~ 28 grams Averages for the week: 1509 calories 30% fat 1415mg of sodium 37 grams of fiber I'm tired! A friend came over today and we made/canned zucchini pickles. Yum! No eating them for at least a week though. Plus, since they are sweet I will need to limit them. They are fabulous on sandwiches. I'll try and catch up on posts tomorrow. I hope everyone had a great weekend! |
littlered: if you find one of those BMI calculators (you can even edit your ticker to reflect BMI numbers or just google BMI calculator..and a BMI of 30+ is obese, a BMI 25-29.9= overweight, 20-24.9= healthy weight, etc :)
Charlene, I too LOVED Knocked UP! Thought it was hilarious, and although a bit crude it will make you LOL.. I was a little over on my calories today (less than 100) so I should go work out... Bascially the cool whip did it, I had 2 c of strawberries (1c x2) and a schwack of cool whip on each :(..and my sodium was over for today too bc I decided since today was so gloomy I needed to get out of the house at supper, so we went to wendys and I got a chili, good source of fiber but also sodium- yikes!! |
Good Monday morning!
My weekly summary here .... I averaged 1476 calories eaten and lost .4 lbs. |
Good morning everyone! I am so excited to report a 7 lb loss over all!!! Woot woot, just a few days ago I was happy to be down 5 and then the scale suprised me this morning. I actually got on and off 3 times to make sure there wasn't something wrong with my scale lol. Hope everyone is doing good.
Hopefully this week goes as well as last, its gonna be an odd one because my hubby is on call and works from home 3rd shift so he starts at 11pm and works til 7am. Then on Friday we leave to go camping, no computer, no journal to log what I eat!! Yikes and it used to be camping was an excuse to junk food fest it, so......my plan is to write down everything I do eat to log when I get home and maybe try to find the calorie counter book I had years ago so I can estimate some of what I eat. If anyone has any other stratageys let me know, part of the reason its gonna be harder is because I will cook the same for everyone since cooking is harder and we usually eat chili, hotdogs, chips stuff like that. Well have a great week and check in with you later! |
When I go camping, I like to bring food that I can cook on the grill along with everything else - like Boca burgers, soy dogs or turkey dogs, veggies to grill (zucchini, summer squash, tomato/mushroom/pepper kabobs), etc. And I tend to plan a few meals in advance, so that I know roughly where I'll be in terms of calories, and so that some of the logging/calculating is already done and I don't have to do as much during the trip or once I get back.
Have fun! |
Calories for today~ 1458
Fiber~ 34 grams I went out and got a new multi-vitamin today. It's a prenatal, but it was the only one that good %'s of everything (I thought DH was going have a heart attack. Lol.) I went searching for a liquid that had a good amount of iron and zinc in it. I've been losing more hair then usual this last week and I've read that it could be a deficiency in iron or zinc. Since, I rarely (if ever) eat meat, I thought that was a logical place to start. Or it could have nothing to do with diet and it could just be stress. It's freaking me out. I do have a lot of hair, so it's not a huge deal at this point, but it's my hair!!! On a non-freaking note, my 30th birthday is rapidly approaching. I've watched several friends completely lose it and get depressed over turning the big 3-0. I don't get it. I'm not even phased. I don't think being 30 is going to be that bad. Maybe I'm just weird? edzard~ How many calories are you trying for per day? That might help with the calorie suggestions for camping. Chili can be healthy, it can be high in calorie, but if you get a vegetarian kind it's not so bad. I like to put a bit on top of a small baked potato. You could buy some smaller potatoes for you and larger ones for the rest of the family and you can just throw them in the fire (I love easy.) You can also make veggie foil packets and throw those on the fire too. Some other good ideas might be baked tortilla chips & salsa, veggie dogs (I swear they taste the same and some are only 50 cals each), pretzels, etc. I think it's okay to eat some junk food, just watch your portions very carefully. Plus, if you go hiking you'll burn all those calories off. :D Coolmom~ Those tacos sound yummy! I'll have to try them. Awesome job everyone on the losses! To all the new girls :welcome3: This is a great group, very supportive and encouraging! |
Good Evening everyone!!!
Calories 1600 Fiber 31 Grams Had a productive day, though I took it off. I'm still on a walking high from our cancer walk yesterday, so I decided to walk the lake by our house, it's about 2.8 miles all the way around and I did it TWICE! I'm definitely feeling the soreness tonight! LOL! Great job to those of you who lose!! I'm avoiding the scale until this weekend. I had too much sodium this past weekend and feel awfully bloated. Edzard- Camping sounds like so much fun. You can always buy baked chips. And atleast allow yourself to have a "junk" moment! Reward yourself with a S'more, but to make it less of a guilt burden, treat youself after a day of hiking! I did that when we went on a all day hike. It was just heaven! Zenor- LOL about DH and the vitamins. I don't think DF would be surprised by anything that I bring home in that nature. He's the one that happily carried my TOM stuff out of Sam's Club with my DB in tow! LOL Well going to head to bed soon, I'm wiped!! Good Night everyone! |
OKAY!!! I;m going nuts!!! I keep going off track does anyone have any pointers on how to stay on this diet and keep walking????
|
Calories for Monday: 1569
Fiber: 49 Water: 14 glasses. 112 oz. 160 pounds again. at least it stopped going up. Edzard: Congrats on 7 pounds down! That fantastic.:carrot::carrot: Have fun with your family, when you go camping. Life is short and kids grow up fast. soon they will be saying…“No. I don’t want to go. that’s for little kids” how old are they? Zenor, Good luck with the vitamins, That was funny about the prenatal vitamins.:D I can just see his face? Did he ask… My hair while thick too… has also been coming out more than normal for me. I just felt it was because of the hormones that I just weaned myself from. Maybe I need to check out the vitamins too. July 5th …right? 30 yrs old! WoWie !!! :fr: ;) to be there again! I am not worried about turning 50 either. Its just a number. and you can’t do any good worrying about it. So congrats for you on not freaking. My sis in law. turned 25 many yrs. ago. her coworkers, did not know how old she was. but she was so freaked. that they threw her a 40th. birthday party!! I always thought that was so funny. Are you down 2 more?! Congrats! :carrot: your just a few from your goal. maybe 2 weeks to go? Meg, don’t go nuts. We all have days we go off track. You just have to get back on, the next day. Don’t beat yourself up. It won’t help anyway. Eat well, So you have energy, and make yourself get up to walk. It is a fight for most of us…every day. I fight to make my self move EVERY day. but I am glad when I do. And I feel better and more energetic when I do. Which is what I am going to do right now. eat and go out to the garage and use my elliptical. and ab lounge. later. |
Thanks guys for the advise, actually I might try to find a way to make shish kabobs, but we use a tent trailer and camping stoves so I am not sure....
My DD is 8 and DS is 6, I am hoping they want to do stuff a bit longer than the average kid because we homeschool so there is no pressure from outside influence (as much anyway) about things being "dumb". We have already started to notice with them and some cousins just a year or two older that they don't have the same opinions as some of the kids their age. But I know what you mean we have some nieces and nephews (lots actually ;) ) that we went camping with 2 years ago and they are in their teens and we are in canada looking at these gorgeous mountains "there rocks can we leave" come across a beautiful waterfall like you have never seen before "water going over rocks, yea, can we go" lol SOOO much fun! Makes you want to punt kick their hormonal little booties over said waterfall. Have a great day all! |
Thanks littlered........
Its really hot out this week in Wisconsin...Anyone else dying from the heat? I better go for aq walk before it gets too hot out, i'll talk to you all later |
After much slowness, I finally went down this week - 2.4 pounds. I can actually change my avatar to the 25 pound chick. I think I might just go do that right now.
I've been sticking to my calorie range, although I ran out of fiber cereal so my fiber is going to be much lower today. Has anyone seen that tv ad for a triple burger from Wendys? No, it doesn't look good to me. It looks obscene. Everytime I see it, the calorie calculator in my head starts trying to figure out how many calories are in that thing. So, I went to the Wendy's site and looked it up. It says 980 calories and 59 grams of fat - yipes! Zenor - I had to laugh about your prenatal vitamin story. I buy them too, for the same reason - they have the most iron, zinc and other nutrients in them. They are also less expensive then a non-prenatal multivitamin like Centrum. I thought you might get a kick to know that my DH takes them too. It took me about a year of convincing but his inner tightwad finally saw the light. I mean there isn't any estrogen in them or anything. |
Quote:
Lol. That is funny. Just make sure your DH isn't getting too much iron. Men overdose easier on iron; they don't have monthly depletion like we do. ;) |
Hey there! I hope everyone is having a Happy Tuesday! Well I decided to give it another couple of days before I tweak things on my diet and exercise. The scale has not budged, it could be from the salt binge I had this weekend! Or other things. Oh well....I'm not going to fret too much about it!
Littlered- that is quite funny about your sister!!! Meg- I had trouble in the beginning with exercise, I did one day, but did not keep it up. You have to keep telling yourself that the weight will not come off by itself. And once you start losing you will want to exercise more. It's a great motivator. Lovemyboy- OMG DF bought one of those burgers, I could feel my arteries clog up! It just looked so unappetizing! Really! Ugh it just makes me feel so heavy! LOL Well I hope everyone has a great rest of the day! |
Meg
yes its hot! here too. about 90. another hot one in the morning. I do my work outs in the a.m. before it gets hot. And in front of a fan and a tv. ;) in the garage. Meg, I just looked at your pic in your profile. what a cute dress. you look adorable. Lovemyboy, Yeah! 25 down. :carrot:keep it up girl. I did not see the wendy’s burger, but I just did a check the other day, on kfc. My hubby wants kfc. I told him to get some on the way to work. I will not eat it. My 1 pc. with a breast dinner, is almost 1000. 64 gr. of fat ! No way! :dizzy: |
I went to a salon today and I'm going to get my hair chemically straightened permanently on July 9th! I'm so excited. It's my only birthday present. It's $400! Can you believe that? It's $750 in Atlanta, so I guess I'm better off here. Guess how long it takes? 4/5 HOURS! Imagine that. I have to be there by 800 so I hope I can get up the early. Summer's getting the best of me.
It's getting hot here too. It was 93 today, and the forecaster was like, "Chilly today, hmm?" I bought an exercising DVD on Amazon called "Walk Away The Pounds." Anyone heard of it? It has rave reviews and seems pretty good. Zenor ~ You should watch the episode of "Friends" called The One Where Everyone Turns 30. It's quite funny. =P I'm off to watch the lake house. Bye! |
Calories for today~ 1454
Fiber~ 26 grams My fiber has been way too low the last few days. We have been running low on veggies. Good thing we get our CSA box tomorrow. Also, since we will probably end up moving out of state I've been trying to use up what we have in the house. When we run out we are out until after the move (except for basics.) This may be hard though. I'm almost out of high fiber cereal. DH had another phone interview today with a school in Washington state. There is one more school we are waiting to hear from and then we have to wait to see if he gets an offer. I hate all this waiting! Charlene~ I looked to see if tv-links had that episode of friends, but they don't. :?: I'm going to ask around see if anyone has it on DVD. Friends was a great show. How exciting to get your hair straightened! I always wanted to do that, but I've finally given in to my hair and I kinda like my curls now. Littlered~ No, he didn't ask. We have a "plan" and I think he might have thought I was upping the schedule. Lol. Right now would not be a good time. It was really funny. Meg~ Sometimes it is easier to make slow lifestyle changes instead of just jumping in. Little things will start adding up after awhile. As far as walking goes, it was really hard for me to get in the habit too. I didn't do it regularly for quite a while. It was a plateau that made me get into gear. I stopped losing weight and I didn't want to lower my calories yet, so I started walking more. I still have days when I don't want to walk (most days), but I do it anyway. Half way through I'm always glad I did. Hang in there! I know you can do it! BTW, I agree, cute dress! Goodnight everyone! |
why can't I post???!
|
Ah! I had a big post and poof.
They say if you don't freak out about turning 30, 40 will be the tough one and vice versa. 30 was no problem and I can tell already 40 is going to be hard. I'm getting a little freaked that hubby is getting close at 37 (I'll be 32 this year). Charlene, I have the WATP DVD and its pretty good. I'm not doing it as I hoped I would though. And I did learn its a good idea to wear shoes. I figured bare feet in my living room would be okay for a 4 mile walk...umm no. sore feet! My TOPS meeting was cancelled and I was really bummed. I need the support to start my week. But all is good. I made my lentil loaf again today and my cals show 50% from fat today, from the olive oil. LOL Its healthy fats though, so I'm okay with it. |
Really quick post while my little one is sleeping. Vacation foods are going well. It's hard to keep track of every calorie, but I'm trying to keep it simple and healthy. I don't seem to be doing too bad. I'm down another pound. ONE MORE POUND and I'm in the 180's!! :broc: I'm so happy about that. I haven't had much time to exercise, but we were at Disneyland yesterday and were walking practically all day long.
I hope you are all doing well! Have a great day tomorrow. |
Zenor77 what school in Washington is he interviewing ... with? I have grown up here in Washington, if you don't mind my asking that is.
|
Happy Hump Day Everyone!!! This week is going by nicely! Well the scale budged this morning, I had to take a peek, so I will go ahead and wait till this weekend to get the "official" word! I am so close to hitting the 20lb mark!!!!
Lovemyboy- Yay for you for losing 25 lbs so far!!! :carrot: Keep it up!!! Meg- I love the dress!! It's cute! Stay cool out there, we did have some warm weather yesterday, but the clouds are rollin in today. And it's cooler out. I wish I could send it your way! Charlene- You should do a before and after for your hair.... Boy do I know what you mean about not being able to get up on time, I constantly want to sleep in, but work calls! LOL I used to do WATP, I had the 4 mile one...it does keep you moving. I liked it, it's a great way to keep cool by working out indoors. CoolMom-Sorry to hear that your TOPS meeting was cancelled. The lentil loaf sounds yummy, I just recently got into lentils myself! :D Zenor- Wow, so DH may be getting a gig up here in WA...that's pretty cool. Well DF, we're not officially engaged, I only say that because I don't have an official ring, but we're getting close, we've been together almost 7 years, and he asked me a couple of years ago. Last week he told me that I'm either getting a Princess cut, or a Round cut. Though this week he asked me what is most important to me, color or clarity? Outside I'm keeping composure, but inside I'm freaking out. Our 7 year anniversary is in September...so who knows! I don't want to give my hopes up, but hopefully this year is the year! :fr: LOL! |

CWU in Ellensburg. We've looked up the town online and it looks super cute! I have family in Washington too (Bellevue & Bellingham) so I wouldn't mind living there. The Pacific Northwest is so pretty too. |
