Hi all! Thanks for the well-wishes. I'm doing better today. My lungs still hurt, so I just took a brisk 1 mile walk this morning. I get to start eating solid(ish) food today, and can talk some. yay.
I'm hoping the lack of exercise and ahem...side effects of the painkillers...don't cause me to have a gain this week!

qtapostolic congrats on staying in Onederland!!

ak812 Hope you feel better soon! How's the not smoking going??

to those I haven't mentioned!

Hello Bluesers !

Just got home and caught up on this thread. It's been a hectic few days with no computer access. Our dog got very ill on Monday and I had to take him to our vet. Our vet is over an hour away and I ended up staying overnight in the town he's at. The dog needed to be on IV fluids overnight then had to stay all the following day. He's going to be ok but gave us quite a scare. We're all home now safe and sound. Was a terrible couple of days eatingwise and no exercise but now am back on top of it.

Sounds like everyone is doing okay this week.... happy to see everyone hanging in there.

Hi Bluesers! Ugh where has this week been going? Just got home from my running group a little while ago and it hit me that tomorrow is Friday. Wow, it's just been a blur.

My birthday was a few days ago and through the week I've ended up going out with different friends/family a few times - I only got splurgey for one of those meals but not feeling too confident about the scale.

I am super tired and hoping to get up really early to get to the pool to practice swimming before Saturday's lesson. Things should quiet down in a few days then I should be more chatty.

Leslie so glad your dog is okay! How scary and stressful.

You are right Somni, this week is going by fast...I have been so busy and feel bad that I haven't had time to do many personals, but I am working hard to help the team's percentage of loss this week! I have to go for my walk with DH now or I won't get it in... it's very sunny out and pretty warm. I think we'll take the trail through the woods today
Have a great weekend Bluesers!!!

Well I never did get to the site yesterday. We had a Division Team in the morning and a Team Building function in the afternoon so the day was crazy busy. The good thing was at the afternoon function I was able to fit in a 1 1/2 mile walk (mapped this morning) and played horseshoes for a couple of hours. Down side was the food. Typical picnic fare, I tried very hard to avoid rolls, potato salad,

Just a run through today. My BIL passed away yesterday so everything is upside down around here and with the family. It was not expected so my SIL is in bits and will have a really hard time. We're off to visit her now in a few minutes.

Stress, happiness, sadness, etc makes me eat so I'll have to be very careful over the weekend.

Happy birthday, Somni. Glad you had a good week with family and friends.

Hi team!

Again, my apologies for being so MIA for much of this week. Still on the path to recovery from being sick. I'm not so congested anymore but I have a pretty terrible-sounding cough. Exercise for me has been pretty non-existent this week as I have just not felt up to it. Today I went for a 25 minute walk with a friend at work and I think I'll do a Yoga/Pilates combo workout after I post this. I've done fine staying in calorie range - not being able to taste anything sure makes it easier to pass up on treats!

Since I've started changing my eating habits I've found that I'm much more able to tell when my body is hungry and when it's only my mind that's hungry. It's astonishing how often I think, "Hmm, I could eat something right now" and then really think about it and realize my body is NOT hungry at all. It's definitely been an eye-opening experience! I weighed myself this morning and was at 187.2, a little bit down from my last weigh-in but I had been hoping for a 186 or 185. Should have expected to maintain or even gain with the lack of exercise this week! Oh well, today and this weekend is all about getting back on track and feeling better.

giffy68 - Can't believe you have to get up at 5AM! I can barely drag my butt out of bed at 8AM these days. Hope you enjoy the bananas in blankets! Let me know how they turn out if you ever make them. Have fun with the elliptical!

Eliza31 - Sounds like you've had a great week! Nice job staying on track with the WW points.

emilyk - So glad to hear that the procedure went smoothly. I will definitely be keeping you in my prayers & hoping the results come back all normal. In one of your personals you asked me how not smoking was going but it's actually KimL who is quitting! lol But I appreciate your support nonetheless.

Isabella - I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your brother-in-law. My thoughts & prayers are with your family. Remember to take good care of yourself this weekend.

EofAZ - Good for you for getting that exercise in on your early day this week! Can't believe how long some of your days are. It's impressive that you fit so much exercise into busy days like those!

rainydays - So cool you are going to school to become an occupational therapist! My bf has expressed interest in becoming an OT lately & I think it sounds like a pretty cool job. How much longer until you are all finished with school?

lostangel05 - Bummer on not getting the job! I'm sure something will work out for you. On the bright side, like you said, it makes for more exercise time! lol I really want to try Zumba - are you liking it? I've previewed some Zumba workouts on YouTube & it just looks like I'd have no hope of keeping up with them. Major props to you for doing it 3x a week!

takingcontrol - SO jealous of that big cupcake you got to enjoy! You deserve it though. Saw that you sometimes do spinning classes - how do you like them? I tried one in college & had to leave early because I thought I was going to pass out and die. lol Hope you're having a great start to the weekend!

Tkkoz - Hello! So glad to have you be a part of this team. I hope you're feeling better by now! Sinus infections are so terrible. And a belated happy birthday to your son. You must be so very proud of him. Best wishes to him in his last year of university! I just graduated last year but it feels like I just began my freshman year yesterday. Time is indeed a funny creature!

Kelly - Looks like you've kissed the 200s goodbye forever! lol So proud of you. Hope you are still enjoying the beautiful weather! Sounds like you are working extremely hard this week. Keep it up!

Leslie - Sorry to hear about your poor puppy! Hope he starts feeling better very soon. I'm sure he will with you to take such good care of him.

Somni - Happy birthday to you! Very impressive that you managed to not splurge on those dinners out, that's always a tough one. Hope you really enjoyed your special day!

Have a fantastic Friday night, Blue Team!

ak812 whoops!! Sorry for the confusion! Hope you are all recovered in time to enjoy the weekend!

I am starting to think this week I'll have to take a freebie. I've stayed in my calorie range or darn close to it. I've gotten as much exercise as I could. There's no reason I should have a gain. But. The scale is staying about 1.5 lbs higher than last week. Very frustrating. I have my theories (Vicodin, I'm lookin' at you).

I guess I'll see what the scale says Sunday morning.

thx u Blue team, having the accountability to this group has really helped me be good this week, well better than good, I really fought hard and the scale is looking good so i'm looking forward to tomorrow's weigh in.
Isabella oh I am so sorry for your family's loss take care of yourself, I'll be praying for you and your family
emily I'm betting it is the vicodin I had problems with it before, as far as my weight, soon as I quit taking it the scale took a nice plunge. But, when you need to take it, vicodin can be a blessing too!
ak812 sorry you haven't been feeling well I hate getting sick when I'm trying to lose weight. I understand what you mean about learning when our tummy is hungry verses our heads just wanting food. I have been eating for years for every reason under the sun, except actually being hungry! Now I examine my motives and have been trying to do a psyc. eval on myself everytime I want to put something in my mouth!
EofAZ so you mapped out a route before getting to the pic nic? sounds like excellent planning, good for you!
Bluesers on this weigh in!!

I will just not even pretend to understand how this works anymore. Last night I was so frustrated, had resigned myself to a slight gain this week, knew I hadn’t eaten the calories To give me the number the scale showed, but whatever. Said “the heck with it" and ate 3 pieces of pepperoni pizza last night, which put me over calories by like 600 yesterday, plus the SODIUM. Got up this morning…I weigh almost 2.5 lbs LESS than I did yesterday (and most of the week). So, yay, I get my loss in this week…but ??? I just don’t get it.
