Yay! Congrats to my fellow losers! All of you had amazing numbers!!
I'm feeling bloated today, so I decided to make a side by side comparison pic. It's my new avatar. I am really proud of how far I've come!! |
Congrats, rainydays and to all honorable mention winners. Those were huge losses.
|
Thanks Eliza!
|
Congrats to rainydays!!! And the honorable mentions!! Great losses!! And to all the losers! We're off to a good start!
And those that haven't posted a loss yet, this is a new week! qtapostolic gorgeous cake!! Today was gorgeous, I managed to meet hubs and kids at the beach in time to catch some of the minus tide. Saw LOADS of starfish. We had lunch at a place on the beach after and it was nice enough to sit outside! I has grilled Mahi Mahi tacos and a hefeweizen. I had to guess at the calories but probably a LOT. This weekend has been too filled with indulgences, and I'm afraid I'm undoing last week's progress! Tomorrow's another running day (ok, slogging in my case). Hope everyone had a great weekend! |
Congratulations to everyone! So impressed at the loss our team as a whole had for this first weigh-in. Looking forward to many more weeks to come ending like this. :) Yay Blue!!
Today was a really good day. Went down to the beach during an extreme low tide and got in lots of walking while searching for some cool sea creatures. Saw LOTS of starfish, crabs, sea snails, etc. Pretty awesome! Then took a trip to the mall and Sports Authority for some hand weights. Lots of walking today, but haven't done a cardio workout - probably won't get that done tonight because "Sherlock" season 2 premieres & I can't wait to watch! qtapostolic - BEAUTIFUL wedding cake! Don't know how you made the whole thing without devouring any of it before it even got to the wedding. ;) Bigmid - Hello! I'm right there with you, don't know how I would ever lose that much in 2 weeks! My loss seems to be happening slowly but surely. Don't stress about the gain, it happens to everyone! Keep up the hard work. takingcontrol - Same to you, don't stress about that gain, just get right back on the wagon! Sounds like you're on a great track w/ pre-planning the meals and snacks for the week. It's always helpful to know what's going on in the food department rather than browsing through cabinets & snacking on random stuff. :) rainydays - That comparison pic is simply amazing. I am in awe of the loss you have experienced & hope to have as much dedication/motivation as you do throughout this challenge. You go girl!! emilyk - Glad you got to catch some of the minus tide ... we also saw tons of some pretty big starfish! Thanks for the heads up on this, I'm so glad we got out there. Don't fret about weekend indulgences, you will make up for them with an excellent week, I'm sure. :) |
Mel has now given me the Red Team information for week 1. You can find the weekly results here:
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/bigg...y-results.html Well done Bluesers on winning week 1 ! Have a great evening all and happy Monday !! |
Thanks Emily and ak, how kind!
Leslie, WOW! 12 pounds, you're rocking it! |
Congratulations, everyone! I did okay this week staying on track with my physical activity, but the food portion was a lot harder. I was still able to lose weight, but I'm just wondering how much more I could have lost if I had a little more self control. Anyone have any fool proof tips for self control around food? This has been a giant problem for me since middle school. :(
|
qtapostolic - The cake looks amazing! You are very talented!
rainydays - Wow! Congrats on being our biggest loser! Your comparison pic is incredible! Very inspiring. |
Congratulations to our biggest losers this week....you did awesome!!
I'm getting everything back on track tomorrow and hope to pull out a loss for next week. I had a friends Birthday party yesterday and it was fun. I made her a birthday cake that was also Cinco De Mayo themed I had been working on it for a few days with many cake flavors and icing flavours. Even made homemade fondant for the first time. Now my kitchen is cake and icing free so I can't pick at it all the time. That alone should help:) qtapostolic - saw you cake picture very pretty, great job I bet they loved it. ak812 - thanks I'm not stressing this time around. I'll start stressing if once I'm fully on track without icing and TOM in my way and the numbers climb or stay the same:). I'm sure once I even get back to drinking my water again that will help. Well off to sleep have to get up early for work. |
Congratulations to Rainydays (the pics are amazing!), the honourables and everyone in our team who helped us to win the first week!
I'm feeling great about this week, being back in control with my plan. I hope that one day I can learn to manage without one, but until I'm at goal, I'm not trying again! Have a great week everyone :) |
Thanks Kate! Being close to goal, I can tell you, that calorie counting is something I'm going to have to, but also want to use the rest of my life. It's been the only thing that's ever worked for me, and I know from the long term maintainers here that the best way to avoid regains is to stay on plan! The best way to think about it is as a useful tool, that works to help you stay healthy, rather than a burden.

Well done Blue Team!!! Rainydays, congrats on the Biggest Loser for our team. You have done wonderfully well on your journey as your avatar shows. And, of course, to our Honorables and the rest of the team, a big "Hip, hip, hooray!"
qtapostalic, the cake is beautiful. Your mother must have been very pleased to have her daughter make the wedding cake. To have a large picture posted you have to have your pictures posted on a website like Flickr or Photobucket or on your own site. When you post you click on the icon "insert image" which is just above on the menu bar with the bold, italics, etc. A little box will appear and you insert the URL address and you'll have your picture inserted in the text of your post. Now, off to the kitchen to see how I can get more food with less calories, lol. Have a wonderful day, Bluesers. |
I'm a little late introducing myself, but that seems par for the course. I'm reji, 46, married to my wonderful partner, and stepmother of two young men, 18 and 20 (when did they get so old?!). I've done a few of these challenges, and last year at this time I even got down to my goal weight, and most of the way to my secret, vanity goal weight. And then I stopped counting calories. So, here I am, AGAIN. I swear my body has an affinity for 151 pounds. But this week I have recommitted to counting and regular exercise. It's an ongoing process, right?
In 2010 I started the C25K program, taking a few extra weeks at each level because of bad knees, and it was wonderful. I took a break from running for a while, but a week ago, I ran my first race, an 8K. I'd never run more than 3 miles without stopping, but I managed to run the whole way. I'm very proud of myself, but after that I must have figured that I could stop worrying about exercise/eating right, and I basically took the week off. I hadn't decided whether to post my gain or take a freebie; then the deadline passed, and my decision was made for me. I'm excited to be back and losing weight again. |
