Just a quick intro... I'm 36 and an Artist... I live in Chicago. My new alter ego is that of an Ironman (Triathlete) in training. I'm training for Ironman Wisconsin next fall so I plan on getting in tons of exercise over this challenge. I really need to lose an additional 40lbs by then. The sooner the better as it will make training easier.
I have a question. Are we not allowed to weigh in on Mondays anymore?
Hey everyone! Well, I am a graduate student getting my MA in Theatre Arts. I love acting and being on stage. I am also a photographer and work in retail (it pays the bills)
I've been overweight as long as I can remember. And it is now that I've finally gotten the right mindset to get this weight off. I'm super excited about this challenge! It's my first one...AHH!
So Glad to be back!! Hi to All-A Big Blue Welcome to All-This Challenge is going to be Great!!
Well...I've been married for 31yrs to the Love of My Life, and Mom to 3 wonderful children, and in August of 2010 will be a Grandma for the 1st time, so excited!! My weight loss journey has been a very bumpy one, never could get the hang of it, food and exercise were always a struggle, May'08 thought I would give WW another try, My DH and I decided to do this together, best decision we ever made. In March'09 starting slipping into old habits, could not get back into the groove. I then needed to recommit, since July of this year, I've been counting calories and started weight lifting. Funny I know what I need to do, and not do, I now have a plan, and I work that plan, which for me, is to exercise first thing in the morning and writing down everything I eat. I can see a differance, not only on the scale, but I feel so much better. I lift 3days, Cardio 3days, Abs 1day, and Flexability Training 1day.
This is my first challenge I have been lurking here for a while so I feel like I know some of you.
I am a mother of a 7 year old and a 15 year old I have struggled with my weight since my 15 year old was born I did manage to lose 45 pounds after him but I have gained it all back and then some.I lost after my 7 year old was born and I have managed to gain that back. This is the year for me I refuse to go to the beach this year feeling like a beached whale and to tired to get up off my big butt and play with my kids. I am really excited about this challenge.
GO BLUE TEAM!!!!
That is me in a nutshell! I've been Fat every since my 2nd child was born and that was 16.5 yrs ago. I have no excuses other than I am lazy and I love food.
Eating right and exercise seem to be a problem for me right now but once I get the groove going with Exercise, I turn into this wanna-be athlete and totally kick azz. When I am exercising like that the food just seems to fall into place because I don't wanna screw up all my hard work by eating junk and canceling out everything I just did. So it's VERY important for me to find a new GYM.
A little about me: I'm 42, have 2 sons, 24 (who lives back home in Savannah, GA) and my 16 yr old who is in High School and sometimes causes us some stress and drama. That causes me to overeat and "give up" sometimes but I am trying to learn how to deal with stress in more positive ways. I've been shacked up, living in sin with my boyfriend(Fiance' on a good day) for almost 8 years. We met online at a Game site in chat. Go figure.... We just moved a little less than a month ago and are buying our first home together. This move seems harder on me than either one of them, but I am warming up to it I suppose. I miss the Horses and rolling hills and fields from the last place we lived (for 9 yrs) and even though it's just 30 minutes up the road, I feel "homesick" and it's been a struggle. Now instead of my view being lovely mountains and horses, it's a dang Sonic, red light, traffic, and the back of a doctors office. Not to mention a strange teeny bit psycho woman next door. I think we are just a magnet for strange neighbors. *sigh* O'well, it has been worse so I suppose I can deal.
Also, after being a SAHM for 8 yrs, I have to go get some sort of job to help pay for our new house. yay....
Anyho, nuff about me.

I was wondering the same thing. Monday's have always been my WI days and as far as I know, Monday's have always been deadline days for WI's in these challenges.
Hello everyone- Welcome to all the newbies! So glad to have you on our team.
A little about me: This is my third challenge. I am an 43 yo wife and mother of 3. I have been married for 22 years to a wonderful man. I couldn't ask for better. I have three kids ds is 26, dd is 19, & dd is about to be 18. I have one grandaughter (in the pic with me). She is 2 1/2. I have struggle with my weight most of my life. I started gaining weight in third grade by 6th grade I weighed 144 and started taking diet pills. Took them all thru hs until I became pregnant. After the baby I couldn't take them anymore so the weight came on. I haven't been under 170 since I got pregnant with my youngest. I have had a difficult year this year and am looking forward to 2010.
My plan: counting calories & keeping a food journal, weights 2x week, cardio 4x week. I am also joining the Transformation Challenge (which is Bill Phillips from Body for Life) for the mind/body/spiritual aspect of why I can't get this right. There are weekly exercises to do that help connect it all together.
Get ready, get set, let's kick some red butt (as well as our own) together!

Institches, congratulations on soon becoming a grandma. It's wonderful. Baby GS is here with me now for a few days. Pure joy.
Diva, sorry you're feeling homesick for your old place. Give it time and soon it'll feel like home sweet home.
Hi Mary. Glad to see you again. You'll do great this challenge.
So a little about me. I'm a retired grade school teacher. Been married to DH for 31 years. Have 2 married sons and 2 lovely DILs. Have one darling Baby GS. No pets. I've lost about 578 pounds in my lifetime and this time it's staying off. I calorie count and use fitday. I'm aiming to walk 1600 kilometres this coming year so that should keep me out of mischief.
Hello everyone!!!
Im Amy... I am so excited to get this Challenge started! I need something to keep me accountable. I am so ready to start working out & eating healthy again. I am 32 mother of 2 awesome boys, I have been married for 10 years. My husband says he is ready to lose also which helps me so much too!
Good Luck everyone!! Im so ready for this Challenge and by the way its my 1st one!!
Have a Safe & Happy New Years tonight!!!
Amy
This is my 2nd biggest loser challenge. I did one a couple of years ago.
My name is Angela and I'm 28 years old. I am from BC Canada. I have two wonderful boys, age 6 and 4, and I have been happily married for 7 years!
I've had weight problems since I was in grade 9. I've lost weight, gained weight, lost weight, gained weight. I had major surgery back in May and the pounds have just piled on. I'm really not sure what happened......but the surgery seemed to have triggered something. Since the end of May I've gained 30 pounds without trying . But I'm going to take that 30 pounds off plus the weight I needed to take off pre-surgery! I've started having heart palpitations, getting out of breath when I walk too far or play too long with my kids. That's not the way I want to be. And I have many many morbidly obese family members and that scares me. So I'm going to break the pattern for myself and my kids.
So my plan. Funny you ask. I don't have a "diet" plan per say. But all of the junk food in the house is GONE and won't be coming back in. The kids are helping me make healthy choices. My youngest son and I have gone dairy free as of yesterday because of some medical problems he has been having. I am lactose intolerant so shouldn't have been consuming dairy to begin with. Amazingly enough I did my weekly measurements on Monday, quit dairy as of yesterday morning, and lost 2 inches in my tummy. Everytime I ate dairy I would get extremely bloated, but for the first time in years I don't look 9 months pregnant!
Anyways, that's me in a nutshell. LOL. Trust me, I could type lots more.
Hello Blue Team! I am so excited about this challenge! The Biggest Loser is my all time favorite television program, have never missed an episode. A little about me...I am the mother of 3 daughters (ages 17, 14, and 5) and married for 19 years. I work full time as a school counselor. I had always had a small weight problem. 3 years ago we ran a BL contest at school and I lost about 20 pounds (and won!). I lost another 4 after that, but got frustrated because I was working really hard and not seeing the scale drop. I have gained back about 10 of those pounds. I know I can reach my goal. I need this team effort to keep me accountable.
I plan to use the Chalean Extreme program (love it!) and sensible diet. I am not good at writing down what I eat but I may try that too.
That's me in a nut shell. I look forward to getting to know you all and working together. Mary Ann
Glad to see everyone so excited to start the new challenge. I'm Bridgette a married working mother of 2, DD almost 7 and DS 13 days from being one! This is probably my 5th challenge, the first two were very successful, the last two not so much. I've struggled with my weight most of my life, but in the last 3 years I've decided to get a handle on it. I started counting calories and exercising regularly and the weight started falling off. While still overweight my body was pretty toned and I was feeling really good about myself. I hit a major road bump and have been struggling ever since. I'm ready to rededicate myself to achieving my goals this year. I DESERVE IT! This time around my hubby has decided to join me in my efforts. We are joining the local YMCA and both will be making healthier eating choices. This challenge I would like to lose 20lbs of the 43 I'd like to shed this year. By May I want to be able to do a 5k and Sept a 10k.
I'm looking forward to this new challenge and all the success it will bring. Here's to accomplishing our goals in the 2010
Diva and IdealMuse if you go loo in the Purple Challenge thread.. the one we had for everyone to just chat n stay accountable over the holidays you will notice that Monte and I put the weigh in day to a vote as we had received some comments/concerns about starting the challenges mid-week and so on.. so we put it to a vote what everyone would prefer.. and to change the weigh in day to Sunday won 70% to 30%...
The following quote is taking from that thread...

But we would like all of your input.. so we have decided to put it to a vote.. so please vote and we will go with the majority.
Happy New Year's Eve fellow bluesers!!! Hope you all have a safe and happy new year. We aren't doing much tonight. FH has been working some pretty long hours the last month so we're just going to chill out at home tonight. We may go out for dinner tomorrow. Other than that, not much is new with me.
I just rejoined WW again. I need to be accountable to someone so if I have to go and show them my food diary and have them weigh me it helps me to stay focused. I am really bad when it comes to exercising. I just cannot seem to get into the swing of things as far as that is concerned. I think I'll start out doing some pilates a couple times a week and work up from there.
Thank you for all the welcomes. And a big welcome to all the newbies too. I've always been on the red or black team so I feel like a newbie over here too.
Have a great evening. Remember to always be good to yourselves.

My thoughts on changing the weigh in day are this: for me, I forget to do things on the weekends. I'm not online much because we have too much going on, so it's possible I would be out fairly quickly because of this.
But, on second thought- if you do want to change it, I can just change my weigh ins to Friday, that way it meets the deadline. No harm no foul. Plus, I've been wanting to change my weigh ins to Friday anyway, because those darn weekends do me in, lol.
Alrighty then. Like Nella, we get busy doing this and that on the weekends, which also seems to be when I slip up anyways, so I'll prolly just move WI day to Friday's as well. No biggy.
Hi everyone!! This is my first challenge on the BL forum, and I'm super excited. I am a leader in the 20-something's BL challenges too, and i love these things! They REALLY motivate me to be accountable and work hard every day towards the goal! I'm excited that this one lasts 14 weeks, I feel like I can really accomplish something! Let's do this ladies!!!
Hm, okay no problem. I've always just done it on Monday mornings. Been in like 5 challenges so it's just a habit ingrained here. Hopefully I won't forget to weigh in then!
