Hi Ladies. My name is Kathi and I am a newbie here. I'm 38 (39 in a few days), married and live in Houston. I have three sons, 16, 12 and 6. I gained about 80 pounds over the last 6 years and have not done well at losing it. I had lap band surgery 13 months ago and lost a whopping - 15 pounds. So this is in my head! I've committed this year to making it happen and have overhauled my family's diet, joined a family gym and am seeking support from everywhere I can get it. I found this website by searching for weight loss challenges for 2010. I AM COMMITTED!!!! My goal is to not only lose this extra-person-worth of weight THIS YEAR (or as close as possible) but also to have a credible level of fitness. It has occurred to me lately (and I know this sounds a little weird) but if I ever had to "run for my life" - I'm a gone'r. Kind of a scary thought. I also just want to be one of those people that I see running in the park or playing ball with their kids. Anyway, I'm really excited to be here and get to know you all!
That is not something we have done before.. we have always just kind of added our own lil blurt about which team we are on in our individual sigs... but I like the idea and think it would be definetely something I can look into this evening! I know now everyone has Sig. privledges as of yet but it does not take long.. 20 posts/20days..
Im working in my house today... Burning a few cals there, then Im gonna head to the gym or do a dvd here in a little while! I bought a new journal & Planner so I can keep track of all my food, workouts & cals burned!!
I was curious are most of you all doing cal counting??
I think thats the route Im gonna go for the challenge cals in vs out!!!

I know I am calorie counting! I am focusing more on veggies and fruits too, cutting the sugar and bread and all white things. I use Sparkpeople to add my Fitness and The Daily Plate aka Livestrong to track calories and what-not.
As for Banners or whatnot, we used to do them and I may have some left, not sure but everyone is welcome to snag my Blinkie in my Sig, because that's how I got it!

I tend to either get really bored of counting calories which leads to a lack of motivation or so obsessive I have to weigh every gram which drives me crazy.
I have a pretty good idea of how many calories the foods/meals I eat have so am just doing healthy eating and regular exercise, probably consuming around 1200-1500 calories a day.

Well ladies.. I did the Biggest Loser Last Chance workout this afternoon and just completed the Biggest Loser Weight Loss Yoga dvd and i must say I am tuckered right out! lol But all for the greater good... haha I am going to make myself a chicken wrap and protein shake now, have a hot bath and then I will be back to open the Week 1 Chat thread as well as the additional threads for exercise and nutrition accountability, before I head to bed... see you all in a little while!
How did you add the Blue team tag on? I downloaded it but when I tried to put it in my sig and error message came up saying it didn't have the right extension.
