I swear, the things some people take the time to worry about is beyond me. My neighbor had to submit paint chips 4 times before they deemed she'd chosen an acceptable shade of blue for her shutters (her house is gray--ALL shades of blue look fine!), yet my neighbor on the other side of us hasn't yet mowed their lawn this year. The grass and weeds are up to our knees an over the puppies' heads :dizzy: |

BTW...this is my answer for today's question. My NSV is that I found cheerful Rhonda.:) |
chellez-well, the puppy was a baby from our female. I think maybe that's why it's so hard on me. This was her very first litter and I was there to help her through it and we got to keep one of her babies. I'm just taking it way too hard.
I weighed myself this mornig and was only down .4. I cleaned for about half an hour and ate breakfast, drank alot of water and weighed myself again and now I'm down a full pound. I think I'll post that pound that I lost. |
Good morning,
I had a busy weekend with daughter moving her stuff home from college. To bad she isnt moving home . I hang alot of our laundry year round in the basement but in the summer i love hanging sheets outside. I have a few of daugthers thing outside hanging now to dry. I would be uspet about not being able to hang out laundry. I feel like i pay for this property i should be able to do what i want( maybe not hang underwear ) but jeans and shirts. Plus it has to be better for the enviroment than running a dryer for hours. |
How do some people have the time?! I see some people doing hundreds of minutes of exercise each day, and I just don't get it. I got up at 4:30am today just to squeeze in a 30-minute workout before work. I'm going to try for a 30-minute walk at lunch and another 30 minutes of exercise at home tonight, but that's still only 90 minutes total. Am I really that bad at time management? I get up at 4:30, exercise (30 minutes) take the pups out and feed them, get ready for work (half hour--I'm low maintenance :p ), drive to work (1 hour), work (9 hours--8 plus 1 hour for lunch), drive home (1 hour), take the pups out and feed them, make and eat dinner (1 hour), hopefully talk to Jeff for a few minutes, and by then it's going on 7pm, and I have to be in bed by 10 (and even then, I'm not getting anywhere close to the 8 recommended hours of sleep). Those last 3 hours are usually for chores and errands and a little exercise while watching tv. I sometimes even have to run errands during my lunch break at work since there's a Whole Foods and Trader Joe's near my work, but not close to home. I don't have any kids or even hobbies to take up my time--how do these people do it?!
Just flabbergasted is all :dizzy: |
Good morning all!
Rhonda, I think I'm drinking from the same water as you. I'm in a great mood today and ready to tackle another week! :) (It didn't hurt that I got on the scale this morning and was just a fraction from my lowest weight this year - I'm going to surpass that number this week!!) Chelle - I'm glad your fur-baby is better! He must have been miserable, and I know there is just nothing fun for us about dealing with that kind of mess. UHG. Thanks too for making the clarifications and adjustments on the exercise challenge. I think it will still be challenging for most without feeling impossible. Well, off to put those walking shoes on and get outta here before it starts raining! |
Jill - Perhaps some of them don't work outside of the home? Or if they are like Rhonda and telecommute, that sould be an extra 3 hours right there, with no commute time or structured lunch. I'm a morning exerciser too. I know that I'm much more likely to get it done if I plan on doing it first thing.
|
Jilly - I know! I hear you! I thought my 8-10 hours/wk was impressive! Well, for me it is! I work outside of our home on Mondays and Fridays, so those are my "lower" exercise days. On T, W, Th and sometimes Sa I'm at the gym for 120 minutes each day. For the sake of this challenge, I'm going to start walking during my lunch breaks on M & F. But even with that I will have to count housework! The stuff like washing windows, steam cleaning carpets, washing walls, gardening...not cleaning bathroom and kitchen...

Hi again!
TK--I am so very sorry to hear about your furbaby. chellez--Yes, I have noticed my posture is better. I have also noticed that I stand w/ my hands on my waist...now that I have a waist! Rhonda--Funny you say that...I have noticed that on the days I get up in the am and do a watp dvd before work, my co-workers comment on how cheery I am in the am (vs dragging my butt into work barely awake). Today is flying by....and I am loving it! |
Chellez- Thanks for hearing me about the workout challenge, I know that you can't make everyone happy, that's totally understandable. Sorry I didn't mean to be a bug-a-boo, but the changes you have made (in the link above) seem more realistic. Thanks for that girly!
I'll be able to check this all out tonight when I get home from work, hard to read in a cubical with heals clicking all around and behind my back! Oh and btw, didn't mean to put anyone down for counting cleaning as an exercise.... It certainly is! You go girls, keep those blue butts moving!! |

I am cheerful today as well. I got 10! hours of sleep last night. Meara only got up to potty once, and we both went back to sleep. Looks like I am kicking the sinus infection without meds, and my garden is in! Also, I am designing a set of gretting cards that I hope to sell, and I found some time to work on those. |
Anjuli - I got the recipe, thanks! And yes, we have loads of Indian stores here in Seattle area.
I'm happy that the exercise challenge is changed! Thanks for your work, Chellez! |

I TRY to do an hour on my days off (they often fall during the week) but i also have to clean the house, run errands, keep my boyfriend entertained, etc. if it's a work day, because i exercise outside, if i go into work later in the day like today, i have time, but my regular shift starts just a bit too early and by the time i get home it's just a bit too late to do anything. oh, and it's not like i ever have THAT many errands to run - i work for whole foods so i don't need to make grocery trips. I can't exercise in the house well - i get far too distracted. it's like when i was in college and had papers to write - it would take me days if it wasn't a subject i really liked, but in the meantime my apartment was probably the cleanest it ever was. and it's not that i don't like exercising, i'm just not the hugest fan of doing it inside. that being said, i've been home all morning and still didn't get any exercise in. my stomach has been all loopy and i've been afraid to be that far from a bathroom :( |
