Lisa Bonet and that fella would make VERY beautiful children. Yow!

Way to go Blue Team!!!! I seriously got chills when I saw we won this week! Like I said before, big dork!!! Great job Lisa!!!!

Nori--I ordered it from Old Navy. I had a coupon. I keep telling dh I want to look hot (he's going to be in a tux after all!), he tells me I always look hot. Mmm, ok, maybe he needs new glasses? Not that I don't appreciate his comments, of course.

Have a great afternoon!

Dea - Can you make a post in the Badge Log thread plzkthxbai!

Debbie54 05-06-2008 02:35 PM

Nori, ok, I know what city your in now. I looked it up on the map. You sound like one busy lady with all the jobs you do. I'm just a homemaker but I'm trying to find a part time job or just something to bring in some kind of income since times are getting a bit rough with the price of gas and all. I used to work in electronics about 12 years ago, but there's not a big calling for that up here. I'm originally from California....Riverside County, but moved up here about 5 years ago. I love it here. Its' so pretty most of the year and down there it was always brown and ugly.

:congrat: to the blue team for an awesome win this week!!! :woohoo: we rock!!!!

do you mean in the "week two" thread?
If that's the place, then I just did, and posted my minutes for the last two days.

I also posted a "Week 1: no badges earned" in the log thread

We are back from the hosp. Everything with Meara's tests went well. She is sleeping off the sedation. We will have results in a few weeks. Thanks for the good thoughts, everyone!

tinabinab 05-06-2008 03:10 PM

I hope the results come swiftly and are best case scenario!

Dea - n/m I see you found it. ;)

Just finished up at the gym - OMG, it is wrong that I wanted to go yank the guy in front of me off the treadmill? He was running so fast and it was making the loudest, most obnoxious noise!! :)

momof4girls 05-06-2008 03:11 PM

We did it!!!!!!!!! WOOHOO Congratulations Blue team!!

tkglenn 05-06-2008 03:13 PM

hello everyone. Got to cleaning and feeling better. Having 4 children and a messy husband, I feel like I have to deep clean almost everyday. I deep cleaned yesterday and did it today. I was hoping that having a clean house will make me feel alittle better and it does. It just gets my mind off things.

Shopaholic1204 05-06-2008 03:23 PM

I'm back from the doc!! I have a higher dosage on my meds..woohoo, lol. Those were some yummy cabana boys. I totally know who mine would be!! LoL!!

jillybean720 05-06-2008 03:34 PM

Whew, I went out for a walk for my lunch hour. I planned on doing 30 minutes, but then I was out there in the sunshine with a nice breeze and just decided to go for a full hour. Just as I was coming back to the office, one of my coworkers was walking out the front door and asked if I'd like to join her for her walk, so I did. I ended up doing 90 minutes total  and I'd already done 30 this morning! Certainly won't be an everyday venture since I can't take that long of a lunch every day, but it helps to make up for the fact that I didn't do another 30 minutes last night as I had planned (got to talking with my neighbor outside for too long).

The only down side is that I fear I may have goten a touch of sunburn on my face and forearms. Doesn't take much--I'm super white (my friends in college called me translucent), and I do not tan at all, only burn. My skin only knows 3 shades: tomato, pink, and ghostly :dizzy:

Doragone 05-06-2008 03:36 PM

Woo Hoo Blue Can Do!!!:cheer3::cheer3::cheer3:

Thank you too Michelle for all your hard work for us!

(Oh and yeah, it should have been "gym" :lifter:but that wouldn't rhyme very well with Shish Boom Bah :dizzy:)

All this work you do and you got 96% on Business Law??? You are awesome!:carrot:

Lisa - congratulations on being the big winner - no wonder you fit into those new jeans - enjoy your new bod and having your daughter home - you must be on :cloud9:

Debbie - I used to live in Riverside too and moved here because of the crime, the smog and the commuting/traffic. We moved to Oregon 12 years ago and really hate going back into the fray to visit. It IS brown, ugly, crowded and expensive - why do people flock there? :?: Glad you made it to the NW.:D

Jennifer - just remember that emotional eating won't really make you feel better - in fact, you'll end up feeling worse, guilty, etc. Accept your crisis, that it is a little uncomfortable, but that you are willing to deal with a little discomfort to reach your goal of health and looking good. You are worth it!

Tawny - you poor dear. My DH also has PTSD and we've been married 29 years!!! He was no picnic to live with in his younger years, and there were times I wanted to leave, but he begged me to stay. After moving here to Oregon, I learned of a PTSD women's group at the local VA and that helped a lot. I used to go there crying about this or that, but the counselor was great and helped all of us through living with these wounded warriors. One important thing is that you have to make a life for yourself. It doesn't mean you ignore him, but it also doesn't mean what he thinks you are, or should do, should define you either. Try to find yourself, the real you, and make yourself happy. It often works out that in doing this, he will realize he likes who you really are (not the person he creates with his controlling nature) and you can start really talking. He will never stop trying to control :nono:everything you do, so don't expect that. Having been through whatever he's been through makes him want to control everything so he will never be hurt like that again. You have a tough road ahead, but you must work on yourself. It's not selfish, it's essential and healthy. My prayers are with you - you can do it.

Dora

I know! It took me a long time to really comprehend that my DH is actually turned on by my body! Obviously, there's a lot more to me that just my appearance...but it is crazy anyways!

CONGRATS on the good test score, Chellez!:carrot:

Debbie and Dora - I'm also a transplant from SoCal. I grew up in Pasadena and Arcadia, and I still have lots of family down there - from Costa Mesa up to Atascadero. Dora - I have 3 sisters who live in Salem, OR area. If I remember right you are from southern OR right?

Tawnya - What are the ages of your kiddos? A support group for you sounds like it would be great...but then what to do with the kiddos... See if you can join a Mom&Me club where there are a variety of outings you can go on with the kids. There are tons of those clubs here and I'm sure they are everywhere.

Nori71 05-06-2008 04:02 PM

Jill - you are a crazy woman with your newfound love of exercise!! How cool. Gotta pack sunscreen now though. Sunburns suck. I burn easily also - but once I get a base (done very slowly), I tan. Except my legs? For whatever reason they appear to be made of different skin that the rest of my body. Very hard to get any color on them.

I'm happy to hear it went well! Hopefully the test results will be in quickly.

The kids and I ran errands this morning and stopped in to see DH for lunch at work. I chose a soup and salad to eat and I was very proud of myself for walking away from the leftover chicken fingers and fries that the kids didn't want. THEN we went up to the lobby and found out that as part of this weeks end of tax season celebration they were offering everyone free ice cream from the Marble Slab! I shared a sundae with DD and we didn't even end up finishing it. Normally I would have eaten a whole one myself but even a shared one seemed like too much.

At the grocery store, DS picked out some cheddar smokies and we're going to have them for supper since we'll be going out and I won't have time to cook the pork roast I'd panned to have. I looked at the package and there are 30 grams of fat per freaking sausage!! I won't be eating supper with my family since I'll be at my running clinic tonight, so I need some strong encouragement not to eat a smokie for supper! I'm ok with some ice cream as a special treat this afternoon but I think that the smokie is just a bit ridiculous. :dizzy:
