Good morning! Sorry I've been MIA the last couple of days. The kids are on Spring Break this week, and it's hard to get on the computer. It seems that one of them is always on here. Well I didn't do awful over Easter, but I could of done better. Today I'm back to logging my food and my exercise schedule. Although I have to say I really haven't slacked that much with my exercise. Kev is taking the rest of the week off, so we can do some fun day trips with the kids. Friday we're taking them to see The Wizard of Oz at Drury Lane. It's an hour long play they put on...I've never seen it, but it sounds cute. I think we may also try to get to the museum again...this time for sure the glass blowing exhibit is open Today I'm going grocery shopping and then later today is cardio at the gym with my SIL! I'm glad Kev is taking the rest of the week off...I'm not sure I could handle one whole week of the kids being homeLOL! So that is what is up with me. I'll be back later to catch up and try my best to get to personals...I slept in a bit today though, so I need to get moving over here. Have a great day ladies~

Good morning ladies! You know I have just been self destructive lately, and I just don't know why. I think alot of it is stress, through all of this I have learned that I am a stress eater, but I just need to gain control. I mean at one point I was doing so well, and now it's just like, eh.... I need to just get back into it. You ladies are wonderful with the encouragement, thank you! Cause there are days I really need it! Ok enough with my whining. The sun is out and it's gorgeous outside. However, little man is sick. His temp was 102.5 last night, so I don't think I'll be taking him outside today. Hoping it comes down. Well better get busy around here....Hope everyone has a great day!

Tina...oh I love plays!!! I hope you guys have a wonderful time. We are all on spring break here too. Keep on shining lady you had a fantastic week last week!!

Kari....I read somewhere that when the little ones (and us too) are sick that you should take them outside for fresh air for at least 20 minutes, to get them out of the sicky air for awhile. Its supposed to speed up healing. Even opening the window for 20 minutes helps. I hope he is feeling better soon!

Thanks Melissa. Yes I heard that too, the problem is with him it's such a battle to get him back inside...lol. But I have been opening up the window and letting fresh air in. If he's doing better I will be taking him outside. We'll see. The sun is out, but it's still chilly, low 50's.

I could have written this myself. I'm right there with you. At the beginning of this challenge I was so in control and nothing could stop me. About a month ago I hit a brick wall and have been ramming my head into it since. I pulled out my journal and Beck Diet Solution book and am on a mission to climb over the wall. I hope your little one gets to feeling better soon.

HI everybody,

Just checking in to say a quick hello. Hope you are all having a great day. I heard mention of the book THE BECK SOLUTION a few times, is this book something that you recommend? Does it apply to any type of weight plan / diet ?

Muse – Congrats on being our biggest loser this week! I hope the weather clears up so you can use your new bike!

Tina – I’m so glad the scale has been moving for you. Have fun at the museum. I think the glass blowing exhibit would be interesting.

Cat – Congrats on the 3 pound loss. I’m confident you’ll get to a solid 191 soon!

Shy – I’m glad you’re doing better. I can’t imagine you laying off the exercise!

Jasmine – I hope you had a fun vacation!

Melissa – I keep seeing the Turbo Jam infomercials and wonder how the DVD’s are. You’ll have to let me know how you like them. Congrats on the 4 pounds in spite of a hectic life. I hope things calm down soon.

Counting – I wish I had stuck to the virtual bunny like you did. Oh well, it’s a new day.

Danielle – I’m sorry you’ve been so sick. I hope you get to feeling better with each new day.

Deb – I’m glad you enjoyed your long weekend. I also used mine to get some extra workouts in. Congrats on making it to the 170’s!

Yello – I hope you get to feeling better soon. Take it easy and give your body some time to heal.

Sara – I’m sorry you had computer problems. That is so frustrating. I really need to get my pictures backed up. I would be lost if I couldn’t get on this site during work. The Beck Diet Solution is a Cognitive Therapy book. You pick whatever diet you want to use (you actually pick 2 – the second one is a backup plan). It is a 6 week program to help you retrain yourself to think like a thin person. Each day you have one task to complete. For instance, one day you commit it sitting down every time you eat. Another task is to eat slowly and mindfully. It also addresses cravings and how to deal with emotional eating, etc. It really helped me the first 4 or so weeks of this challenge. I am just now restarting it because I need a refresher course. I would definitely recommend it.

Melissa (Hun) – I caught half of a couple of episodes of “I can make you thin” There seems to be a lot of things that I’m reading lately that have similar concepts. For instance on of the Beck concepts is to eat consciously which is also a step of Paul McKenna (I can make you thin). Maybe if I see/read it over and over it will finally stick.

Thanks, I am taking it a bit easy and making sure the body is ready for the strong workouts again. Really don't want to feel that pain again lol.

Muse
Way to go

Tina
I have had it lucky. The daughter had spring break last week and the son has it this week. Two weeks I could make them both help with spring cleaning lol.

ksk
I really did. I took it easy. It wasn't an easy thing to do lol. I love my videos, they give me so much energy. I did an extra 3 mile video yesterday to make up for the one I didn't do Friday and I will do 40 min resistance training tonight ( since this isn't my day for resistance training ) to make up for not doing it on Friday. For me it is all about accountability. I have to make up what I haven't done. If I don't, I know me, I will start slacking off.

Karen...I do have to say that I tried his approach to eating this morning and I was ready to push my plate away after only eating half. Something happened there not sure if itwas real or I wanted it to have that effect so the jury is still out for me. I'm gonna keep trying it though.

I really think there's something to it. It worked for me on Beck also...because I wanted it to? Possibly. I have also recently read Mindless Eating (I believe the same people that the popcorn experiment was based on) and it also supports the notion of eating slowly with a smaller plate will make you eat less. I believe it's true, but my biggest question is why in the heck can I not stick with eating slowly? My mind tells me I should, but I haven't gotten the knack.....yet!
