CONGRATULATIONS SELINA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTG!!

One of my biggest *concerns* is that when I get to goal weight I'll only be able to ever eat 1000/day to not gain. I mean if at this weight I can only eat 1600-1800 surely 100 pounds from now it'll be much, much less. This is the 3rd time I've attempted to lose weight and with a +100 pound loss and a +100 pound gain in the last 10 years I have no idea what my metabolism really is like. Hopefully very forgiving!!! But I will do what I have to do to get healthy, so I'm not going to obsess about it. I only have today.

Congrats on the wieight loss all around!!!

Sorry for the lack of personals...off to play some games with the girls and hopefully have a nice relaxing evening with DH.

Victoria Ayumi 01-18-2008 10:42 PM

This is gonna sound funny...but there's a few fears I have when I lose the weight.
Well, first is my singing. Since I do classical singing, you don't need to be "big", but you need room for the air. I'm scared I might lose too much and then hurt myself.
Then I'm scared that people will treat me differently. Like people treat me differently now because of the way I look. Imagine if I lost the weight that I've had all my life? I've heard guy friends joke and say that they'd try to "talk to me" like that, and stuff like that. Kinda stressful I guess.
I know the benefits though, that I'll feel better once I get back to 160. That's not a small weight, and I think I'll still be a good size.

AmberD 01-18-2008 11:20 PM

SELINA!!!! Congratulations on making it into ONEderland!!!:congrat::cheer2::woohoo:

My biggest fear about losing the weight is that I won't be satisfied. That no matter how much I lose, I'll never feel pretty and confident. This happened this summer. 165 has ALWAYS been my goal weight. I've never weighed that, so there really is no basis as to why that should have been my goal. When I reached it this summer, I was so disappointed. I looked nothing like I had imagined myself to look at this weight and still had a good 15 pounds to lose. It sent me into a tail spin that I am just now starting to recover from. I don't want that to happen again.

chellez 01-19-2008 12:37 AM

Evening Blue Team!

Before I head off to bed I want to apologize for not getting in here and catching up with everyone after lunch like I said I would. I had a situation come up that I couldn't avoid so it kept me from personals.

Good news is I now have internet at the house so I can keep up at nights now!

Tomorrow is another hectic day of trying to clear out of the apartment and get it cleaned. We are expecting snow tomorrow so it will be interesting to see how that works out.

Well I better head off to bed now before it gets too late!

PS: :congrat: on onederland Selina!!!!

heweysgirlalways 01-19-2008 12:51 AM

I'm going to weigh in the morning. I'm a little nerves, worried and even a little excited. Wish me luck!

heweysgirlalways 01-19-2008 12:52 AM

Question

How often do you plan to update your pictures?

Purplefirefly 01-19-2008 07:18 AM

:woohoo: Congrats on onederland, Selina! :woohoo: that must be the best motivation to keep going you could ever get :carrot:

I'm sorry I have not been around, but with hubby home after almost 3 weeks we spent yesterday taking family time. I am sneaking on here to tell you guys that I am SO frustrated! I have stuck on plan, and even passed up Bojangles last night while everyone else ate (I had a salad) and the scale is still not moving. I haven't been getting even half the exercise in that I normally do and have had a couple days under calories, which for me equals out to slow loss and I know that, but it is still frustrating

BUT, hubby noticed the weight I dropped while he was gone ;) and that felt really good. I am going to get in a good workout now, before everyone wakes up and we start getting ready for dd's game.

Oh, we went to Walmart yesterday looking for those little silver weight plates for hubby and I picked up a trampoline for $19! The kids are having a blast on it practicing their gymnastics jumps...I bought it for me, but whenever I jump it makes me fee like I have to pee really bad, kinda like my bladder is falling out  What is up with that? I jump on our big backyard trampoline without ever feeling that.

kgood2005 01-19-2008 08:15 AM

I'm sad. Tomorrow my baby is going to be 2. Today we are having the birthday party for my husbands family. My families is next weekend. I only wanted 1 party but since my Brother's wife can't come tomorrow and each half of the family lives 45 minutes apart we decided to have 2. At this point I don't even know if my husband brothers' family or sisters' family is going to be there. We haven't heard back from either and his sister has already said she thinks they have something to do. They didn't come to his 1st birthday:mad: and maybe this is selfish but they didn't send any gifts with their respective daughters who did come. I'm honestly at the point where if they don't come this year I won't even mention it next year. That could be TOM talking but at the moment that's how I feel. He's only got so many little boy birthdays left before he won't care if Aunt's and Uncle's are there.

HoosierHeather 01-19-2008 08:45 AM

Purpleflrefly that's great you've avoided temptation & hubby noticed the difference in you! :)

I decided to weigh in today. Up .5 lbs! I'm trying really hard not to be discouraged, telling myself that weight is more than just calories in + calories out... but it's hard.

It feels like -6 right now so that's not helping my motivation to get some exercise.

ssgtswife33 01-19-2008 10:06 AM

Good Morning Everyone...

I am so excited. I weighed in this morning and dropped 11lbs. I have been working out hard this week and getting my water in too. I was so glad to see my hard work paid off for this week.

It was so hard for me last night though. Or so I thought. It was my sons 3rd birthday and we had his party at Chuck-e-Cheeses. I thought I was going to be tempted with the pizza but I got me a salad from the salad bar and I loved it. When it came to cake time, I didn't take not even one little bite. I was proud of myself. I knew it was going to be hard and I did it. This morning when I got up, the cake was in the kitchen just looking at me. What did I do... I covered it with a towel (it was in tupperware), got my water and went on.

Happy Saturday Everyone!!!

Frozen Peach 01-19-2008 10:34 AM

I survived my surgery but am not able to eat much (should help us out LOL)
I maintained at weigh-in on Thursday but it wasn't my regular weigh-in day, time or outfit (do you have a weigh-in outfit? LOL)

I've not even had 500 calories - not able to eat and don't want anything even if I could (I'd imagine it's the pills I'm taking - good grief!)

anyway just wanted to update and let you know I'm here but....not here! Gimme a few days and hopefully you'll see more of me

don't forget me!!!

WTG Selina - I want ONEderland so badly!!!

heweysgirlalways 01-19-2008 10:39 AM

I weighed in this morning and I'm down 4.5 pounds :carrot:

I know that's a good number but I really wanted to be down under 250 :( oh well next week.

I'm having some trouble with my left knee since the first of the week. It is only botherning me when I'm working out. It feels like it's grinding inside. I mean it is lol I can put my hand on my knee cap and when I move my leg back and forth it's grinding, popping, and painful. I'm trying to take it easy with what I'm doing as far as working out.

I've had the grinding and popping feeling for several years but not pain. So I'm getting a little worried now. When setting down if I start to raise my let out once it gets almost straight. I feel a very shap pain and can't and won't try to raise it the rest of the way. It feels like it's going to pop if I keep raising it. I don't know if that's the right way to explain it lol but hey I tried.

Okay I've not talked to my mom this morning yet. But I'm going to call her and see what her weigh in is. I may have to post if for her. She has a hard time learning how to get back and forth on here.

She does get to read the post that everyone makes since they go in her email :-)

Oh and Theresa don't get to discouraged I can tell a big difference in you. You may not see it like we do. But even my mom by looking at your pictures on here was bragging on you. So just keep up the good work!

Bye 4 now

Frozen Peach 01-19-2008 10:42 AM

okay
seriously
it is the drugs man

I LOST this week .6 (POINT 6) At first I thought I gained then I thought I maintained - but I went and grabbed my weigh-in book and I lost .6 sheesh

but I survived surgery :D

missrocky73 01-19-2008 11:02 AM

I lost 2 pounds

FrouFrou 01-19-2008 12:17 PM

A very good morning BLUE TEAM!

JENN...OMG! Woman...:bravo: to your 11 pound loss! WTG!:carrot: And :woohoo: to your NSV as well. Seems like a lot of BD'S this month, my daughters is next week.

NADALIE...good job on the .6! Just remember, every little bit adds up in the end! :carrot: Take it easy and try to relax.

CHELLE...was wondering if you were coming back  Bet your house is looking GREAT!

MissROCKY...good job on the 2 pounds gone! :yay:

PAM...:woohoo: to 4.5 pounds gone!

HEATHER...hugs to you missy! I know how frustrating a gain can be but try not to be hard on yourself. You know you worked hard this week and that's all that matters right now. Just hang in there.

KAREN...hugs to you too! Try not to worry about what anyone else is doing, if they will be there or not...just focus on that little boy and have fun! It's all about HIM anyway! HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY to your baby! :hb:

HI to everyone else:wave:

I am happy to report a 1.8 lb loss this week. I really was a little worried that I would end up with a gain, or stay the same with the back and all. But I did better than I thought I did so I am happy with that, surprised, but happy. I've been doing the happy dance all morning. I can't tell you ladies how long it has been since I have seen the 180's or even been below 200 for very long. It really is a celebration for me.:dance:

Have a great day all!

GO BLUE!!

GirlyGirlSebas 01-19-2008 12:32 PM

Yay! We have more losses to celebrate! :carrot: Ellie, Peach, Pam, Ssgtswife33, Nori, Cristina.....you guys are doing awesome!

I’ve been having problems with my knees and I know how frustrating that can be. Last challenge, I was doing great with exercise until both knees started hurting. My Dad recommended Osteo Bi-flex and I’ve started taking that. I’ll let you know if it seems to help. He said it takes about 6 weeks to really see the improvement. I’ve been taking it consistently now for 2 weeks. It may be my imagination, but I think it just might be already working.

I don't plan on taking more until the end of this challenge. However, I will take measurements every 4 weeks.

Yes, Fran! I'm with you on the weights. For the first time in 10 years, I've started strength training this week. I'm hoping to see some major changes between my before and after pictures at the end of this challenge. Plus, I really think the extra muscle will help increase my metabolism.

Karen - I'm sorry that your family is letting you down. Sometimes, family can treat us worse than anyone else. And, I know how much it hurts when your children are involved.

Peach -Glad your surgery went well. Hope you recover quickly.

Scgirl - How did it go with the Mexican food last night?

Marianne - I hope you get some great rest this weekend.

Alana Jo - How are you doing?

Michelle - We miss you! But, we understand how busy setting up a new household can be.

It is snowing here in Georgia again. The kids are so excited. We are expecting 4-5 inches. Tonight, I have a ladies neighborhood get together. We are playing Bunko...I have no idea how to play!....and we are having finger foods and bring-your-own-wine. So, this is my first official big temptation of the week. I plan on bring some diet rootbeer and picking up a veggie tray...and, I'll eat dinner and exercise before I go.

To those of you who've lost less than they hoped or gained this week, please don't give up. Keep going! My reality is that I gained weight between the time I gave Chellez my starting weight and when the challenge actually started. So, I've been trying to lose what I gained and lose a little more for our team. It looks like I might have a tiny loss for the team....but, a loss is a loss, right? And, there are better weeks ahead for all of us.

Hope everyone has a great on-plan day. I will probably check back in again later.

Nori71 01-19-2008 12:34 PM

Karen - hope the parties go off smoothly! At least he's not aware at all of the family drama.

Pam - WOOHOO on your loss! What kind of exercise do you do? I have *noisy* knees also - especially when I'm doing lunges and squats or walk on a treadmill for a long time. It's like they start to feel too "loose", but at the same time I cannot straighten them? I get the sharp pain from time to time also. It freaks me out. Take it easy. I don't have any trouble with my knees on the elliptical. I'll update pic (oops haven't even posted it yet...gotta do that today) at the end. I measure once a month though, so I'll update those as I go. My BIG hope for the before/after shot is that some of my back fat is GONE!!

Nadalie - CONGRATS on the weight loss! The low number could be the surgery? I think it affects your whole system. But hey, and loss is a loss! I bet next week after a week on liquid diet, you see more? BTW - my weigh-in outfit is usually just my panties, or naked - since I do it at home!

Jenn - 11 pounds this week!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy cow! That's crazy. WTG on the huge food victories! Feels so good afterwards doesn't it?! It'll be easier next time.

Theresa - How great that DH noticed! Please don't be frustrated! You know you're doing the right thing and the results will come. I tend to maintain a # for a few days and then BAM the scale drops a couple pounds and then I hold that for a few days. None of these daily losses here.

Anna - please share your chick pea recipe. I eat hummus daily, so I'm sure I'd love it.

Chelle - I know how it is when you're moving. Hectic. It's so nice to get everything organized though.

Well, I need to get some work done. It's like a week day here now since the hospital just called DH into work - someone bit of more than they could chew. Literally. The food is stuck in their esophagus.

GirlyGirlSebas 01-19-2008 12:39 PM

Question for the day:

Most of us spend too much time being critical of our bodies and our appearance. But, being overweight does not mean that we don't have positive things to appreciate about ourselves. Please share three things that you love about your body or your appearance. This may be difficult for some of us, but give it a try. You might be pleasantly surprised at how uplifting this positive thinking can be!

My three:
1 - I have thick hair with natural wave.
2 - I have long legs.
3 - I have pretty hands with strong nails (Thanks, Mom!)

Who's next? :)

kissingginger 01-19-2008 12:46 PM

Rhonda - I love your posts! You are so engaging :)

I love:

1) my eyes
2) my smile and teeth!
3) and yes, my boobs :) I hope I don't lose too much of them when I am at my goal weight!!!!

Cheers, Ginger

Ginger - after 4 kids - I wish mine would shrink! LOL!

Nori71 01-19-2008 01:03 PM

Great assignment, Rhonda! I've been blogging 5 positive things (about my body, my life or just positive self-talk/thought in general) every day and it's making a difference on my emotional state. Really! Just simply taking the time to write down 5 things that I'm happy about is making a difference! This is a little different since it's just about my body.

I like:
  • my smile
  • my ankles
  • my round butt! I do! I don't want it to *disappear* - I want it to stay round, but get smaller.

Had to LOL about your #3 Ginger! When I lost 100 pounds last time, mine became A cups. I'm only a B now, so I'm expecting some A's again. Maybe a little fuller since I've had 2 kids since then?:^:

zinkemomx2 01-19-2008 01:08 PM

1. I love my nose. I didn't get the one from my mom's side. Whew!
2. My tiny ankles and wrists. I might be fat everywhere else but not there.
3. I also think I have nice feet.

I guess that's what water bras are for eh? LOL (are those even "in" anymore? I am such a fashion loser!) - I'm still wearing nursing bras or sports bras and my kids 3.5.

I *guess* I could live with smaller boobs if I had a smaller body. :):):)

Frozen Peach - ROFL! I've had three kids and I guess I just feel good about having, as my DH calls them :"yummy mummy boobies" LOL.

sportmom 01-19-2008 02:39 PM

OK, Rhonda, I'm with you & I'm off to go lift weights!! I will watch something from my netflix subscription too while doing it!

It's crazy how much snow the south is getting! Montgomery got some, and you all in GA! Wow. I assumed you were in s. georgia rhonda since you moved up from fla, but maybe you are in n. georgia? I have family in paulding co, north of atlanta & was B&R there myself, altho a little further south.

To one can of LITE coconut milk, add:
1 garlic clove (minced)
1 T. curry powder
1 T. peeled, grated fresh ginger (1 t. dried)
1 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. coriander
1 tsp. salt.
1/8 tsp. ground cayenne pepper

Simmer for 20 minutes. Add one drained can of chickpeas. Heat through. Add corn starch if you prefer a thicker sauce.

I had figured the calories myself, but when I do the recipe analyzer, it is much higher. I don't know if their numbers for lite coconut milk are higher or what.

I would suggest doing it on your own to see what you get.

dixied 01-19-2008 02:47 PM

Happy Saturday!

No personals right now, I'm running behind. I managed a 1 pound loss this week, and I'm satisfied with that. It seems like once I crossed the 20 pound loss mark I have to fight for every 1/2 pound.

My 3 things I love about me:

1. My boobs. Not having had any babies, they're in great shape for my age. I've lost from a 42 D to a 38 D, so I don't think the cup size will change too much when I hit my goal weight.
2. My general appearance vs real age, I get carded a lot, and at 36, I'm thrilled.
3. My legs. I have skinny ankles and shapely calves from all the walking I do.

Off to take DSS rollerskating if he wants to go.

I don't know about those - sounds like it might remind me of breastfeeding? Can they leak? I know as soon as I can get a Victoria's Secret IPEX demi bra around me (they only go up to 38/B) I'm trying one. My sisters all wear these and look great.

That recipe sounds great! Thanks for sharing. Lots of time the online tools don't have the correct info in the database.

Yeah, all the cold and snow down south is crazy. DH is from Selma, AL so he's been talking to family/friends in the south. They are just not prepared for it.

Nori71 01-19-2008 03:04 PM

Excuse all the boob talk, John!

Shay 01-19-2008 03:08 PM

3 things I like about my body or personal appearance:

1. The "sisters". They've always been big. I started wearing a regular bra in 4th grade! When I've lost weight the cup size never changed
2. My calves. My personal trainer a few years back complimented me too.
3. a tie bw my small hands and my big eyes

Everyone congrats on the losses! I weighed in the 13th so I am good for my weigh in. The big question is when I will weigh for Week 2.

Purplefirefly 01-19-2008 03:29 PM

Rhonda--have fun tonight...that sounds so fun! I have never played Bunko either, but sure you'll enjoy whatever it is :) It is snowing right now here and my kids are hoping for enough to make a snowman...actually, they are talking a snow family now I think ;) They were not interested in it a couple days ago, but the idea of having a LOT of it got them excited. Little boy is spending night with MIL though, so it's unusually quiet around here tonight.

Nori--Thank God for people like your hubby! I hope he could help them get it out.

:woohoo: Cristina--I am so happy you got a loss, you deserve it!

Ellie--YAY :cp: 2 lb. is a good start.

Peach--You got through surgery and still lost almost a lb, you rock! And I weigh completely naked in the AM, but with clothes off and on during the day sometimes.

Pam--OMG, you have to be proud of 4.5 lbs.! It is easy to get hung up wanting a certain #, but that is a lot for one week...be proud! Or I can be proud for you until you get under 250 and do it for yourself ;) I do see the difference in myself now that i realize my top fat roll is almost all the way gone...but it's still hard to not see a loss :( I still have hope though, now that TOM is over :carrot: and I'm determined to get in more exercise tonight and tomorrow. The trampoline is helping...it's SO fun!

ssgtswife--I am proud of you resisting cake like that...it's a weakness of mine as well. And 11 lbs...holy cow! What kind of exercise/eating plan do you do?

As for bras...the first place I started losing was in the chest. I don't mind at all, they are too big, but hubby is less than trilled  He joked last night that he might have to get me a boob job before long...NOT going to happen, buddy :)

3 things I like about myself:

1. My hair, I have always had good hair.

2. My waist, just because it's smaller than my hips and chest.

3. My feet I guess :?: I don't really have one more.

I tried to exercise early this AM but I couldn't get into anything. I ended up walking with intervals jumping on the trampoline..and it didn't make me want to pee  must have just been full of it last night. I'm going to record some workouts from on demand channel for my mom tonight, so will do them as I record. I keep curling up next to hubby and I decided not to feel bad about being lazy....he will be gone again tomorrow :( then things will get back to normal.

As well as could be expected... I did a good job of limiting the number of chips I ate (limited to 15 with *tons* of salsa). Then, I went with chicken fajitas for dinner. I ate the meat, peppers and onions, leaving the tortillas, cheese, sour cream, etc. My downfall came later, though. We went out for karaoke afterwards. There were about 10 of us, and, around midnight or so, someone got the idea to order mozzarella sticks and pizza bread. I had three of the cheese sticks, which I really didn't need. But, I feel better about it since I did an extra-long workout at the gym this morning (added about 15 minutes to my usual cardio routine).

jordan 01-19-2008 04:10 PM

Jenn (SSgtswife33) - WOW! 11 lbs. That is awesome. This is really random and it would certainly be a smaller world than I ever thought, but was your sons birthday the little party near the playground tubes at the Chuck-e-Cheese on Sunset last night around 4:30-5ish? I have no recollection of any of the adults but I did notice the cute kiddos and 3 years old seems about the age that was being celebrated. That would be too weird if we were both at the same pizza place last night (ahhh, I just confessed what I did last night...but I didn't eat, I swear!).

Nori71 01-19-2008 04:35 PM

Theresa - he's not home yet so I don't know what it was. Last week they pulled a long strip of steak out of a guys throat. He said it was as long as his hand. Good thing they can still breath with this kind of stuff lodged! You would be shocked to hear what people get stuck in their bodies. He works in GI/Endoscopy, so I'm talking about BOTH ends now!!:o:eek::yikes::eek::o

Yeah, my Dh jokes about a boob job too. If this girl gets any work done, it'll more than likely be brachioplasty (an arm lift) once I get to goal. I have an interesting body shape. Percentage wise my limbs are the fattest parts of my body - my arms are HUGE. I'm going to post my pic in a bit - gotta download the camera first - and you can see. If I can get to the place where my ARMS are on the list of things I love about my body THAT will be a miracle!!!!!

DH wanted to go out to Mexican last night, but I wan't ready to go out yet. I need to prepared so I don't binge on chips and salsa. They are my fav foods in the world! If I knew I was going to die tomorrow, I'd chose my last meal to be Mexican with chips and salsa and I would have started eating it this morning!:D

 Please, I'm over 400 pounds...I've got to worry about my boobs too!

On the plus side, I weighed myself today and I'm down 9 pounds since I first gave Chellez my weight.

Well the birthday party went well. Keith's sisters family didn't come but it seems they are all sick. I am sorry they are sick. Aiden got lots of learning gifts which is what I wanted. Things like matching and picture cards. He was so cute eating his cake and ice cream very carefully. Unfortunately when we were leaving he ran and did a header on the pavement. But all he did was scrape under his nose and bang one of his teeth so it started bleeding. Boy do they bleed. But after a couple minutes he didn't want mommy fussing over him so we headed home. Ah well. What ya gonna do? He's 2. I'm sure there are worse injuries in his future. Sometimes I freak out about things like that or when he's sick cause when he was born he was diagnosed with a heart defect which they fixed when he was 4 months old but you never forget that fear.

Karen--ouch! I hate when they fall like that, but glad he is okay and didn't knock the tooth out. I am paranoid with my kids as well, I think it is just a mommy thing :) I had an infant wearing a heart monitor for awhile, the other one admitted to hospital at 2 weeks old, then transferred an hour away to have heart checked....it is scary! Last year my son had a seizure and I woke up, literally thought he was dead beside me in the bed...you just never forget those things. They are healthy and normal now but it just will never leave me, all those horrible things they have been through.

OKay, edit:I was going to watch TAR and exercise...until I realized this is not Sunday  Now I"m going to do WATP instead.

Evening ladies!

I'm munching on some broccoli and brown rice yum!

Still don't have time to chat but I'm going to weigh in tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Tomorrow we wont have company so I'll have more time for a heart to heart with everyone!

Lots of Love and :dust:

Alright everyone ... I made it through the Derby today and even managed to basically stay on plan (I have 1 serving of fruit to many and 1 vegetable to few, but otherwise did good). I do have to say that they had Double Chocolate Duncan Donuts at the Concession stand this morning. I could have kissed the kid who finally bought it because it was calling my name. I could have cared less about all the other Donuts, but that Double Chocolate was not just calling my name, it was screaming my name.

CONGRATs to all you "Losers" out there. I have to say I am proud of you all!

As for today's question:
1. The color of my hair
2. That I have an hourglass figure, and when I get to goal it will look like those Milk commercials:)
3. The shape of my butt, it is a little large right now, but the shape has stayed good, just the quantity needs to be worked on

Everyone have a great night!

OK, back from working out and putting the kids to bed. 90minutes of weight lifting and stretching.

I better start saving now, cuz it's gonna be ex-pen-SIVE at goal! SweetPeas post got me wondering, and I had to go check it out. (John, close your eyes now, but I did LOL at your post about having them too!) Oh, btw, Nori the website sells them up to a 38DD !!
