Just so you guys know that Thread that says RED TEAM CHALLENGE...is not really for the Blue team! Hopefully they get that changed.

So I had another fantastic day yesterday and peaked at the scale...it was good! LOL But I'll wait till my official weigh in day to post any numbers.

So today starts week 2! Make sure that every red team member checks in this week! Remember one of our team rules is that you've got to check in AT LEAST once a week so we all know who our team is!

Off to do homework before the Bronco game!! Have a wonderful sunday everyone!

Hi Melissa!

I didn't workout yesterday

Today, on the other hand, will be a much better day.

Ok so today I tried to look in the mirror and say something nice! It is not easy! It was something new for me. (not what I am counting for something new but still new) I did enjoy making a plan of action and the feeling it gave me. What an accomplishment to check off the things on my list. I tried a pilates video for the first time I am not sure that I am cut out for pilates but it was new and I sure entertaining to watch
Keep up the good work every one!

Thumbs up

Hello Red Chickadees!

I have been on a short hiatus over the past 7 days (working on last part of cpa, first part of cfa, and working combined has worn me out!). So very sorry you haven't heard from me. Just wanted to say a quick hello and a word of encouragement to my fellow teammates!

1. What is something you did really well this week?
Worked out ever day consistantly.

2. What is something you'd like to work on for week 2?
Lowering my fat intake (not sure where I need to be but have been sitting at 15-20 g a day over the last two weeks)

3. What is one item of clothing you are looking forward to getting rid of when you reach goal?
this is silly but probably any pair of undergarment that helps me "suck it all in."

4. What is your favorite CD or song to workout to? OR what is your favorite show to watch while you workout? OR what do you read while working out?
Beyonce

5. What does your computer desktop picture look like?
A picture from my little sisters undergrad graduation last May.

6. If you could have lunch with anyone who would it be and why?
Super simple but my boyfriend. We rarely do that anymore.

7. Do you prefer to read or watch movies?
Read

8. Are you an early bird or a night owl?
Early

9. What is your favorite part of your body?
It's a tie-my booty/stomach

10. If you could take a pill and be magically transformed into your perfect body, but you'd lose your ability to taste...would you do it?
Nahhh...that would be terrible, I would never alter God's gifts.

Have a great week!

It seems like the weekend just flew by and I didn't get much done around the house. Although, I did make sure to take the time to exercise both days, gotta have my priorities. Yesterday I did my fat burning pilates video followed by floor exercises. Today, starting the red wins challenge I thought I'd try something new and exercised with Sharon Mann (fit tv) boy was I huffing and a puffing. Hopefully I'll be able to get a run in after supper. Tomorrow is weigh in day so I'd like to give a little extra in hopes of a big numbers

1. What is something you did really well this week?
I drank my water, and exercised everyday.

2. What is something you'd like to work on for week 2? Watch the processed foods.

3. What is one item of clothing you are looking forward to getting rid of when you reach goal?
my oversized t shirts that are covering my muffin top.

4. What is your favorite CD or song to workout to? OR what is your favorite show to watch while you workout? OR what do you read while working out?
I mix it up, depending on the day.. If I choose music, usually stuff like Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park, Rhianna, Beyonce, sometimes the oldies. If I watch tv I watch Greys Anatomy or Y&R...I wish they had episodes of Days and TBL on the internet. If I'm reading I choose Shape, Fitness, or prevention mags, sometimes its hard for me to read and run so I'll pick a mag or catalog with lots of pics to look at.

5. What does your computer desktop picture look like?

A pic of scenery.

6. If you could have lunch with anyone who would it be and why?

My mom, she lives 9 hours away.

7. Do you prefer to read or watch movies?

I do both, but watch more movies...thanks to Netflix

8. Are you an early bird or a night owl?

Usually a night owl, but since end of August I've been getting up around 6 to do my morning workouts. I've found if I get up and do it, then I don't have to worry about making excuses why not to do it later.

9. What is your favorite part of your body?
My eyes and my fingers.

10. If you could take a pill and be magically transformed into your perfect body, but you'd lose your ability to taste...would you do it? Well if I couldn't taste I'd probably eat more of a variety of foods and be healthier so I guess I'm gonna say yes

Muse-I love seeing peoples transformation pics what a great idea.

Bridgette.

Kelli....you are doing so great today!! What an inspiration to get it all together!! Way to go!! Self affirmations are really hard but they are SO good for you!

April_showers.....15-20g of fat a day is really not very much fat, I dont think I'd go lower than that. depending on your calorie intake for the day but at 1200 calories its only 11-15%. Remember that your body needs fat in your diet.

Bridgette...ugh I'm so sad the weekend is almost over! I spent the whole thing doing homework..no fun!! Way to go on your challenge goals today!! Keep on rockin girl!

You know, watching football has GOT to burn calories, I mean just the near heartattacks alone gotta do something right? LOL! My broncos eeked out another one today!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

Hun. e. be.- Good reminder!

Thanks for the information on the fat-intake. Maybe I'll change my mini goal of the week to educating myself on appropiate levels of substance in my diet.

Take care!

I see I did my math wrong up there (fixed it now) but here is a little guideline I found.

How Much Fat May I Eat If I Want To Lose Weight?

The recommended amount of dietary fat you should include in your diet is generally determined by your overall calorie intake.

In a regular diet, total fat intake should not exceed about 30 percent of calories. But if you want to lose weight, it is better to aim for about 25 percent of calories in the form of fat. most weight loss plans rarely recommend less than 20% of calories come from fat.

To calculate your total fat intake, remember that fat contains 9 calories per gram, so for example, if you are following a 1200 calorie weight loss diet you may allow yourself about 33g fat. On a 1500 calorie diet you may allow yourself about 41g fat.

Hope that helps a little!

April_showers, good to see you! Sounds like you've been busy, peek in when ya can.

Melissa, no kidding about football should burn some calories! My team really bit the big one today....oh, they won alright but man, what an ugly game! I think I spent half of it watching with my eyes closed or holding my breath! LOL
Glad you're caught up with the homework, now lets hope your professors are kind and don't assign a whole ton more, right?!

Have a good night ladies!

Nope. Food is too an important part of my life. I love it. I just need to learn to control myself.

April - I was really low on fat for awhile too... I thought I was doing a good thing it took me awhile to convince myself that healthy fats are okay. I'm still on the low side at 20-25 percent and try to keep saturdated under 9 percent, but It seems to help me keep on track better (Because I guess if you up your protein and fats a bit you have no choice but to cut out some empty bad carbs if you want to keep the same calorie range!

Today I did TurboJam(yet again!) PKJ, and the cardio sections of preventions personal trainer... so about 70mins. Plus I washed out the cat boxes!
