well i weighed in on friday and im down to 199 pds again. i seem to bounce from 193 to 203 alot of the time. i cant seem to get to far below 191 and then i really stall out. or gain a few pds. i tryed the meat egg fast. and then i couldnt go #2! so i think im gonna have to excerise some more. i like belly dancing. and i have a belly dancing dvd. so im gonna have to do that more often. i think.
sounds like v73 and sas are sticking to it! good job!!!!
Sas - did you have any cravings or anything after the wings? And you are back on and that's the important thing - I wonder what the carb count was on those and if you hadn't had many during the day I bet your total was still pretty low for the entire day. There is a local place (a few towns over) that makes chicken wings and has a side of the most amazing mustard sauce to go with them - I just know it has sugar in the sauce - I am actually planning a cheat at some point with these I will work my entire day and maybe my entire week around it but I will enjoy every taste and then will be done with them for another 6 months to a year. I do love chicken wings
I got some QuestBars for emergencies like that - yesterday I had to fill in for hubster at a gun show for an hour - which meant an hour drive to the show work an hour and an hour drive home - I knew I would go crazy if I went into anywhere on the road to get something to eat because I was tired so I brought a bar and water with me and had them on the way home. It was the chocolate brownie one (like a tootsie roll in my opinion) so a cup of coffee
would have been perfection with it. But I was satisfied when I was done . I
think I will buy more to have on hand (I bought one of each flavor to see
which I liked)
So Friday is our anniversary - we always get lobster for it but we have always had French fries with it (to cut the richness a bit lol) I need some ideas to choose from to substitute for the fries. Any ideas?
Making my recipe from "500 more low carb recipes" - Rho's slow cooker chuck roast - for dinner tonight - haven't had it in awhile so I'm looking forward to it. And it will hold till hubster gets home from the show.
Boy I may not post often but I sure make up for it with the length of the post it seems ...

Have you tried increasing your fiber thru psyllium capsules or Benefiber and drink lots and lots of water.. That might help during the meat egg fast - the belly dancing DVD sounds like fun... I just started walking at the local Rec. center this past week - indoor track - and am going oh so slowly - I'm only doing 2 laps of the track right now and will increase a lap every few days - I refuse to do anything that may reinjure my achellies tendon and set myself back again it's taken too long to just be able to walk at all. I keep telling myself 2 laps a day is more than I was doing
i like belly dancing...v73 and sas are sticking to it! good job!!!!
Thanks! Well, i have too much pride to try it, but if you like dancing, up this way Zumba is the big craze. Could be something you may like to try out.

The cravings weren't bad this time...very mild and manageable. It's not quite the same as if I had snacked on a chocolate Easter bunny, which would send me in a frenzy!
I can imagine the carb content was quite high...they were battered and soaked with honey garlic sauce.
Fire, belly dancing sounds fun. Zumba is popular here too Sask! My sister has been doing it in a class. I have a Zumba DVD I ordered off ebay and it's ok, but I can't keep up yet lol...
I'm thinking of doing an egg fast next weekend when my daughter is at her dad's, either a two or three day egg fast and see if that speeds up the weight loss. I'm so close to onederland that I can taste it!
Hey guys, looks like more have joined in since I fell off the wagon.
If there's still room, and I'm sure there is, I'm coming back on tomorrow. I'll weigh in tomorrow and post an honest weight. I had a good start, then a bumpy ride and I fell off, got back on, ride got bumpier, and now, bumpy ride or not in life I'm going to get back on that wagon.
I spent 2 days shopping - both girl trips, different girls. I couldn't say no. My knee is in severe pain from it. It swells up sometimes, but this is the worst. I realize that all that was a lot to do to it, but it would be so much improved if I'd just stick to my weight loss goals better. It keeps me from walking for exercise, it hinders me at home. It's time. Not to mention a slew of other issues.
My aunt announced she's doing Atkins - losing good. Planning to have a daily chat with her and share things with each other. Can't hurt either of us! her motivation is her friend losing 48 lbs. I think mine is going to be a know it all cousin who wants me to be a vegetarian, low fat blah blah blah. She is, by the way, NOT skinny and ALWAYS obsessed with trying this or that to get healthy. She's always on a new kick with something and wants everyone to get on the same plan. I know, it's not positive thoughts with the cousin, but she's makes me angry, and that works for my motivation. Might be the kick in the pants I need.
welcome back Kel! Having someone in your family will surely help. Nobody in my family wants to do this. They can't live without bread, they say. They are all overweight too. Maybe I can be their motivation when I lose my 80 pounds. I'm very motivated and I know I can do this. All of us can do this! Insulin resistance is a real thing and I'm ready to get healthy and avoid diabetes and heart disease. Let's keep going guys!
Kel welcome back - I was just wondering how you were doing and hoping you'd be back soo. Must be ESP
I have friends doing WW and I started with that and with them (I was doing online though) then I remembered how well I did on this and how much easier it was for me to do so I started this - but my friends don't know I'm doing this and it is hard to talk to them about foods now ... I'm thrilled to be able to come here for that. WW is a great program but I was hungry every minute of it and constantly thinking about what I could have and how many points I had left for the day and week....this is so much easier for me.
Have an appointment with the dr on Wed. Did my blood work last Friday and I am stressed about it ... The last time cholesterol was on the higher side of normal but he had me on the lowest dose of Lipitor because he wanted it really low because of family history - but I am having side effects that I really don't want so I'm going to tell him I don't want to take it anymore - I've lost 33 lbs since I was there in May and I know my sugar (which had crept up a bit) should be down but I worry about the cholesterol because I went back to full fat things like half and half, mayo, and use butter and oils more but I also just started walking again and will use the bike on my off days of walking ... I will be so glad when Wed is done ...
Rho, I was always hungry on WW too. Carbs make me hungrier. I feel more satisfied on low carb.
As far as your cholesterol goes, remember Dr. Atkins said it can rise first and then go down later. Also, with LC eating the cholesterol is "fluffy" and not dense which is the kind that is dangerous. I believe I read that from Gary Taubes. Heck idk...I've read so many things about low carb eating that I can't remember who quoted what, but I do remember reading that
I hope your appointment goes well!
How is everyone else doing? I had bacon and eggs for dinner and oh how I love this WOE
rho, I have a feeling you will be surprised at the dr. office. Lower sugar, lower weight, will usually mean lower cholesterol.
Well, I weighed in today and shocked myself. Same as where I left off. OK, freaky. I've not been binging exactly, but I've been eating WHATEVER was in front of me. Seriously. Evil trick weight loss fairy. It made my motivation saggy.

I actually put my appointment off a month hoping that I might get through the rise then into the lowering part I started WW again on the last day of May and decided to do LC again July 19 so hopefully enough time has gone by to make
it lower again.
I do think it is time I can drop the online WW program even the $18 a month could be earmarked for something else

I really hope so - Kel I keep figuring it all has to show some differences other than weight
Maybe you were subcontiously doing better than you thought - so now you jump back on the wagon and keep on going We did miss you around here ya know

When i first started Atkins, I had my sugar and cholesterol tested before and 3 months into it. My sugars decreased, my bad cholesterol went down slightly, and my good cholesterol actually shot up dramatically. I wasn't exercising, but if I was, I'm sure the bad cholesterol would have decreased even more due to that added aspect.
My numbers were perfect - right where he wanted them which is lower than what is considered normal because of family history (mom died of a heart attack in her 40's) I'm OFF the lipitor because at the low dose I was on he knew it didn't make the dramatic difference in numbers he saw.
He asked what I was doing and I was not sure about using the LC phrase with him so chicken that I am I said it was a loose combination of WW with no sugar, bread, pasta, rice and being very picky about my foods like corn or peaches (that they had to be at their peak for me to eat them) but lots of salad, veg and meats - he said ahh low carb and then said that he wished I could teach a seminar for his patients on how to make such a huge difference.
My vit d is low but rather than giving me a script for that I'm going to use
over the counter just a little higher than it says and recheck in 3 months
(when I get everything else done) to see if it helped then decide on how to go
On the weight loss he did a double take and asked if I knew the numbers (silly man - a woman not knowing the numbers?? hehehe) And he had to stand up and shake my hand .. And said again he wished I could teach his other patients what to do.
I feel so validated I'm on cloud 9 --- remember I have a long way to go still I'm down 32 lbs but need to do the at least 3 more times and no one has noticed I lost weight at all so this was huge for me!!
with it -
