Thanks for the welcomes! Well a little info on me..I live in Bentonville, AR which is in the very NW corner and home of Wal-Mart. It's a pretty little town that is growing by leaps and bounds. Not sure I like the growing part at all. My ex DH (the D doesn't stand for dear or darn, I'll let you guess) raised miniature horses up until about six years ago and have been divorced now for four years. I don't have any of the horses left and miss them terribly. But not all the work that livestock takes to keep up.

I sold the land to my son and his wife last year and moved in with my 85 year old mom to help her. I have one son and one daughter and they each have a boy and girl. So four grand kids to play with.

I work for the Prosecuting Attorney as a Legal Secretary/Case Coordinator (whatever the going "title" of the moment is) so I'm very busy. Have not taken care of myself for many years and decided that 2014 is going to be the changing year for me.

Well, that's it in a nutshell. Really glad I found this site.

Karen31 - I notice you are from Missouri, we're neighbors!

I hate that. have been busy with a bored and very cranky husband. im walking on egg shells around him..getting tired of his poor me routine. hes a terrible impatient patient. I have had a bit of a struggle to get back on track, have had some success in not snacking after 7pm so that's a good thing. Mary, sorry to hear about your hubby.. Be sure to keep us updated and will send prayers.

Robin, yes, Bentonville is just a hop, skip and a jump from here!! We were in Fayetteville the 14th of December for my nieces wedding.. She and her hubby live in Fayetteville and it is a very nice little town. We stayed in Springdale while we were there since the LaQuinta will let you have your pets with you at no extra charge, and it is a nice hotel. We Love Joplin though and don't think I'd ever move!! AGAIN!!! Small world though!

Well, I fixed us Cheeseburgers and a salad tonight and after we got done with supper-- I chopped up all the veggies and chuck roast and have it in the crock pot so the house should smell good all night and as long as we don't lose electricity we should have some good food tomorrow!!

Rosey, good to hear from you again. I thought we might have to send out a search party! Kind of sounds like the rest of the US is going to be getting some of your Winter weather! It has been cold but I'm sure nothing to compare to yours.

Well, Think it is time to kick back and watch some TV, or play on the puter... not sure which..

Everyone take care and stay warm!!

akrosey49- if we were closer I'd give you a lift chair. We still have my dads and yes, they do add independence.

I had a salad this evening for supper. I have to get in the flow of what to eat. I'm not much of a cook so have a really hard time on the weekends figuring out what to eat and staying out of the cabinets just cruising the shelves between meals. Ugh!

Karen31, Joplin, wow! Were you in the tornado a few years ago? That was sooo sad! I haven't been back up there for a few years so don't know how the rebuilding is going. Yes it is a small world indeed.

It hasn't started doing anything here yet, but the rain/ice/snow is suppose to start in a couple of hours. I sure hope it passes us by but that's just wishful thinking! They are saying we might be snowed in Monday, which is a makeup court day from a snow day in December. If we can't have court Monday they might as well just shoot me and get me out of my misery! It is so much trouble and working alot of overtime to make up a court day.

Saraphin - it seems so strange to think your already into tomorrow when it's nearly bedtime for me. Well, I hope everyone has a great crave free night.

Good morning! The weather outside is, well "Frightful". It's blowing snow and cold cold cold. Guess that's the norm for most of the country though.

Already up and walked the ole treadmill so I guess that's a good thing. Oatmeal is on the breakfast menu today, after that ???

Hope everyone stays warm today.

Good Morning, Goldens!

Mary - good thoughts and prayers for your DH.... please keep us posted! I know how scared you BOTH must be!

Rosey - I think the whole country is just COLD! We're at 12 and snowing, and it's that kind of grayish blah color, the depressing stuff... I do hope Mr. CP is feeling better and stops bugging you!

Robin - welcome!

Nothing to report... just cuddled in with Samson. I can certainly find plenty to amuse me, should I feel so inclined to be amused!

Stay warm/cool/whatever.... later, lovelies!

Good Morning...all our churches are closed due to the cold weather so I'm just going to work on some ebay items to sell and make some soda bread. Yeast constricts/dilates blood vessel in migraine sufferers and shouldn't be eaten according to my holistic chiropractor. I'll look for a low calorie version of yeastless bread as soon as I post this. The diet bread I use now has only 80 calories in two slices...that's hard to beat.
Robin...so you don't cook much huh? Maybe moving in with your mom will inspire you to get creative. Is she still active?

Mary.... I hope DH is home and healing up from his rupture. I know how active he is, must be hard for him.

Donna...how do you download books on your kindle from the library?

K3...I'd like to start reading your Lord & Lady Hetheridge on my kindle but don't want to pay for them....I'm a tight Dane. Explode? HaHa

Cajun...you want the posse to come after you? What's your weight scale saying?

KarenMo...I made a pot of soup too but it's for my lunches. I left out the meat so the calories were lower, Sweet & Sour Cabbage soup. Very delicious and only 66 calories per 8 oz bowl. I have a bad habit of missing/skipping lunch, maybe I'll remember now that the soup just needs heating up.

Rosey...I didn't realize you still had to use the lift chair. Will you ever get the feeling back? ( legs from the knees down are paralyzed) What's diet pizza? I'm glad to see you posting your menu again, helps doesn't it.

Shell...sorry you couldn't find us. We're always under the 50+ section. Did you have a good Christmas? How about your eating over christmas, did you stay on track or like most of us forget about dieting?

I need to get hopping...stay warm everyone.

Afternoon from warm and sunny Florida....but that stink'n weather due here tomorrow night. With 2 nights of frost. Don't laugh you all that's your strawberries that will get an ice bath. They will spray the patches with a mist that freezes the whole plant. Miles and miles of frozen daiquiris.

Bobbi...I sure ain't a loose Dane. My grandmother was from the isle of Bornholme and grandfather for Aulburg. But that much fiber might change all that.

Calories yesterday(level 1): 892 after I had to eat some raw carrots for Mary. I had planned on chocolate sf pudding but wasn't hungry. Life is so much simpler when you get past the carb craves.

Mary...Think it was you that also was reading the Bluebells of Scotland series. Anyway the 3rd is out on Amazon....The Water is Wide. Hope DH is feeling better.

Rosey...remember toe nails and flowers then pop him a soft love tap when he gets cranky!

Robin...Secret about dieting...pick a plan, plan your meals and plan ahead for the temptations that blindside you. Report in here frequently to keep a handle on everything. See you can lie to yourself but not us!

I had such a fine... a mighty fine Saturday night. We watched 4 shows of season 6 of Doc Martin. OMG it was so funny. I was kinda leery because the last season got bogged down, but it came roaring back. Only filmed every 2 years, so long wait for season7!

Karen...I made a pot of vegies for soup/filler. Easy way to get 5 veg serving a day.

Cajun...I saw you sneak in and poof disappear. Come back and get your full dose of nagging/yelling in your ear by moi. Time to pull up those big girl britches and just do it, girl! We already know you can.

DOWNTON ABBEY TONIGHT!

Good afternoon GG’s,

Hope you all are having a nice weekend.

Welcome Robin ~ glad to have you join us. It is a great group of ladies.

K3 ~ how long does it take to get over the carb cravings. Are you feeling better from your food poisioning? Glad you had an enjoyable Saturday night watching the Doc Martin show.

Bobbi ~ you’ve been mentioning headaches more ~ are you being troubled by them again? I was just gonna ask for the Sweet & Sour Cabbage soup recipe, but found it in the recipe section. Thank you for posting it. Sounds good ~ might give that a try.

Donna ~ are you and Samson enjoying the cuddling? So did you? Feel so inclined to be amused?

Cajun ~ it sounds like you have had an enjoyable time. Sorry though that the fun was so tiring.

Deelou ~ how are you doing?

Shell ~ it is interesting when you post ~ we are headed into the evening here and you are just starting your day.

Rosey ~ glad Mr. CP was able to fix your chair. Sorry that he is cranky ~ hope he gets over that soon ~ for the both of you.

Mary ~ so sorry to hear about Joe having to be in the hospital. Any news? Hope you were able to get some rest.

K31 ~ your crockpot of beef stew sounded good. Did the power stay on so it could finish cooking? What kind of temperatures are you having? Did you get much snow?

Gonna go see what else I can find to keep myself busy now.

Take care all

You ask how I am, I'm cold! Yes here in north Florida it is in the 60's but will hit the lowest temps in 25 years on Monday and Tuesday nights...most likely lose my tangerines and grapefruit....dang , love the grapefruit, and as has been said that means your grapefruit too unless you want it from farther south! I am doing the same tracking on myfitnesspal....
