Just now posting yesterdays results.... Sorry I was tardy. Here it is:
Breakfast 1/2c fiber one with 2tbs ground flaxseed and 1/2 almond milk, apple, 2tb PB2
Lunch: 1/2c tuna, green salad, one hard boiled egg, 1/2c corn
Supper: Jimmy johns turkey sub, 2 glasses wine
Evening: dannon light and fit yogurt w/ 2 tbs riccota and sf chocolate syrup
56 oz water.
1462 calories. 155 carbs, 28g fiber
90 minutes walkitout gives me about 400 calorie deficit.
Marie, I am just low some days. A lot of it depends on the protein choice. eg. fish has less calories than pork. I think it is good to cycle a bit so my body doesn't adjust. Maybe. LOL
Isabella. Jump on in. I really like this thread...
It feels good to be back. I have been struggling lately. I did not stick to my plan and limit things to just Thanksgiving. I did not keep up with my food journal, I skipped multiple Y classes and I did not come here either. Yikes! Well, I did see lots of my dear family. However, my pants seem to be shrinking and I do not want to pull my big clothes out of those boxes in the extra room so I have no choice but to get my life in order. The last two days my eating has been okay and I have been to the Y twice this week for step classes. I have caught up with your entries and I am feeling motivated again. Weight gain-Bad, healthy habits-Good!
Hang in there girls, with planning we can enjoy the holidays the right way.
Isabella, 60 minutes a day biking will definitely get you fit. I can bike outside for hours on end but 30 minutes inside is my max. Probably because my butt gets sore. Inside you can't coast a while to take the pressure off the bum.
Rie, so you count carbs and fiber more than the cals (protein as well)? You are just amazing on your progress! Do you ever get bored doing 90 minutes of walkitout? Does it have built in entertainment? Tell me more...
Tera, you don't have to be perfect to post here. Me, the one that avoided posting when I wasn't an angel. I think that was my biggest mistake. This thread is helping me stay accountable. I'm hoping we can start another one for the 2012 Challenge.
I was angelic yesterday. I ended the day at 1515 cals and it was my day of pretty much rest. I did the doggie walk and LoseIt says it burns 100 cals. Since some of the hills are mean, I'm not sure but don't care much.
I've decided with my Starbucks addiction, that Friday is my day for one tall (small) mocha, skinny non-fat. So I had the skinny peppermint mocha this morning for 100 cals. It was yummy. I'm thinking the barista might have put more chocolate in it since it was so chocolatey but I'll count the 100 cals in my log.

Yes, because of my diabetes, I need to be careful about carbs. I have spent the past couple of months integrating more healthy carbs like fruit and some cereal grains. I seem to be able to hold my bs at the levels that I am currently eating.
I don't get bored with WalkitOut because it is a game. It is for the wii. Basically, I step (or jog) in time to the music and earn points for hitting the beat just right. With each step I take a little avatar marches along in the simulated world on the screen. When you start, it is basically a barren wasteland and you create the world with your points. There are 120 songs - mostly dance stuff but you only start with 10 or so. The other songs you have to "find" as you walk around exploring the island that you create. You can also collect clock pieces so you can "time travel" within the game. This morning I was walking under the stars at "3am"
CaddyKaren bought one and I don't think that she likes it. Another friend on the diabetes thread got one and was immediately hooked. I completed the first time and I have started over from scratch.
The calorie burn is about like brisk walking. I under-entered my weight so it calculates it conservatively. I did 25,000 steps today in 2 hours, almost 8 miles.
I'm totally off plan. I didn't get my biking finished as I had to leave for shopping this morning with MIL and then we got back late and didn't get lunch before I went to the Goodwill. I've basically eaten crackers and cookies for meals most of the day...sigh....tomorrow is another day.
Here is the menu:
Breakfast 1/2c fiber one with 2tbs ground flaxseed and 1/2 almond milk, apple, 2tb PB2
Lunch: large green salad with sprouts, cucumber, and a little ranch. Wonderslim shake
Supper: chicken stir fry with mushrooms, water chestnuts and celery. 1/2c rice
Evening: dannon light and fit yogurt w/ 2 tbs riccota and sf chocolate syrup
72 oz water.
1039 calories. 132 carbs, 40g fiber
120 minutes walkitout gives me about 1000 calorie deficit
I am off plan today with too many calories and carbs. I will figure it out tomorrow. I sure enjoyed the cheeseburger that i ate today at the tourney, though.
Still struggling but holding in the same place weight wise. Friday was a disaster but Saturday was better although not great. Today could be On Plan. All I have to do is FOCUS! I am planning to go to the Y and make vegetable soup for my lunches this week. I would love to actually lose weight this week for a change.
Marie-Congrats on the On Plan days. Good days equals results.
Rie-Sometimes the extra calories are worth it.
Maryea-Keep up the good work.
Isabella-Hang in there. Sounds like you had a busy day. At least you got some exercise in.
I'm thinking I forgot to post here yesterday. If I did (too lazy to look back) Friday's cals were 1505 and 383 cals exercised away. Yesterday's cals were 1520 and 400 exercised away. Sunday is my day of rest except the doggie hike. So today there will only be 100 cals exercised away. Unless I decide 46 degrees is warm enough to go biking. I'm not sure on that one. And it is football day. Football day is in my toasty warm house where the fireplace is always going. Then again, 46 isn't bad for December and I love my new tandem. A decision for later today.
Tera, I understand your frustration but could you be too focused on your eating? That you're so consumed with thoughts of it that you're overeating? I know if I'm thinking about food 24/7, I will eat no matter how well intentioned. On those days, I need to distract myself with a different project.
Rie, glad you enjoyed your burger. I agree with Tera, sometimes those cals are just plain worth it.
Mary, good job on the eating. Even with diabetes, I can't imagine going over by 1 carb will hurt much. Great job!
Marie
Back down to 154.4. So I'm back down to what I was on Thanksgiving morning . And 1.8# from what I was on my last weekly weight, and 2.6# from my lowest recent weight (and my current goal). ;-)
So far OP today. I just have to think all the time to make sure I stay OP!
BTW, My software subtracts my burned calories when I enter them, so when I state calories on here it is after the burn. And I tend to underestimate the amount of the burn rather than over just in case. Like my yoga stretch class is 40 min long but it is a senior class and much of it is spent sitting doing only deep breathing and very light exercise, later we stand up and do more difficult stretches but it is not a very vigorous class so I only count 10 min. However I do count all my other stretch class and the stationery bike and treadmill. I don't count the weight machines because I am not sure how. I don't usually count exercise I do here at home as it never helped me lose before.
Ter - Vegetable soup sounds so good to me! I made a beef pot roast yesterday and today was going to make beef vegetable soup, but dh wants to have the leftovers tonight instead. I'm sure there will be some roast beef left so I plan on doing it for our lunch tomorrow. Tomorrow night we have having a snack-type meal with our neighbors.
Rie - glad you enjoyed your cheeseburger and knowing you I bet you are back OP today.
Yesterday ended up being 276 calories over goal. Not as bad as I thought it would be. It was way too carby but my blood sugar held.
I didn't work out today as I woke stiff and sore, probably from being on my feet all day. It was very cold and windy here so I couldn't get out and walk. Looking forward to working out in the morning.
Here is today's menu:
Breakfast: 2tbs ground flaxseed with light and fit yogurt, apple, 2tb PB2
Lunch: Wonderslim shake, sliced cucumbers
Supper: 1/2 portion of fish and chips, marinated artichoke hearts, salad, skinny cow truffle bar
Evening: dannon light and fit yogurt w/ 2 tbs riccota and sf chocolate syrup
56 oz water.
1328 calories. 147 carbs, 21g fiber (will add fiber caplets tonight)
estimated I was over by 300-400 yesterday! Did great all day but we had a dessert buffet at church and I forgot my usual method of picking out one dessert I really like and just sticking with one serving. Instead I ate several.
Dh got several too but of course, he brought most of his home and he will nibble on them for days. Wish I were more like him!
