Hello everyone! I haven't had Computer problems just couldn't get this site to load as fast as it used to.... no problems with any other sites but this one. I guess it has been reported to whoever needs to know it because they have several posts in the support forum about it.. And then all of a sudden today I am wondering why I haven't had any new posts from the GG's!! DUH!!! It is a new month!!! Now I think I am set! Been kind of hectic with my son and his GF living here, but then again it is always hard to try to mesh two families together. Just hope they can get all their ducks in a row and find their own place soon. AND hope they find a place that accepts pets..... Ginger and Sissy aren't at all pleased at having a big Boxer in the back yard! She is just puppy but a big 65 pounds compared to mine that are about 7 pounds!! Even playing she can hurt them so I have to be careful when I let mine out to make sure she is tied at the time. Other than that she runs loose in the back yard--- keep hoping that she realizes that she can get over that little 4 foot fence that keeps her in!! Shhhhh--- I didn't say that......Hmmmm.
Anyway, just wanted to touch base with everyone and let you know I'm still around. Prayers going out for everyone in the paths of these storms that are coming.
Take care and I'll try to be more consistent with my posts soon.
Halfway done with my course. Will get back to personal posts as soon as class is over. In the meantime, I am reading everyone's messages.
Upped my eliptical to 12 minutes; upped speed on treadmill to 2.9 (with no holding onto bar). Tomorrow is day off for marathon training.
Meeding my DF for lunch. We were supposed to go to a local gardens, but it is looking VERY cloudy. We are not supposed to get any problems from Earl, but it is looking ominous.
Good Morning girls! It feels like fall, cool and windy. I actually put on a long sleeve sweatshirt and jeans today, brrrrrrrrr.
Freda...I found Patterson's name on the list I printed out from the book thread. I just love him, will get more of his books. I like a book that keeps me eagerly turning the pages. I mark my list with star's if I like the author, writing boring on the author if I hated them. Now that fall is here, hopefully I'll get more reading in and less garden/freezing work.

Bobbi, Just finished the 9th in the Patterson series. He just doesn't disapoint, does he? I always love his books. Just got "the Keep" at the library. I'm saving it for tomorrow, something to read in the car. Maybe it will keep me occupied and keep me from whining quite so much. Anyone read it? It's supposed to be quite good.
Donna...I have a desk top calendar of Maxine, each day she spouts off about something. About the public pools, she say September...time to drain the pee, I mean water, from public pools and close'em down for the year. Funny thing about Maxine, she says what we think but don't have to guts to say it out loud. I want to be just like her when I get in my 80's! Karen (Fl) You used to tantalize our taste buds with all the food you used to cook/bake for your bridge club. You don't do that anymore? Rosey...I think you already are a teddy bear, those pictures of your grandkids doing crafts at your house tells a lot about you. And who has a swing for the grandkids in their house? YOU!

I want to be a Teddy Bear in my next life;everyone loves them;nobody cares if theyare fat;and the older they are the more they are worth! rosey
Karen...I need to check out that forum, my 3fc's threads are loading slow for me too. But then I'm very impatient and under 30 seconds is a life time for me. House guests and fish both smell in three days Lynn...at least you know the calorie value of your scone and compensated for it with exercise, we should all learn to do that.
Quote:
Of course, I was hungry & ate a pumpkin scone - 480 cals!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm ready for a nap...I woke up with a migraine headache yesterday morning, didn't get rid of it until this morning around 2:30a.m. I've been up since, good thing I don't have to work outside my home like you Zoe. Are your trees turning color yet? Hi toonses, Mary, who'd I miss? Have a good one! Have a great day
OK NEW MONTH NEW AVATAR!! Of course I think I have used this one way back when some time but I really like it and Ginger and Sissy look so cute in it. Try to be back later.
Good Afternoon (!), All.....
Bobbi, I think you got rid of your migraine and gave it to me. I just took some Excedrin Migraine and am eagerly waiting for it to work!
Cool here. I'm thinking of putting on some socks, if you can believe it! My tootsies are cold! This is NOT a complaint!
I'm thinking good thoughts for the storm folks. The map looks like PA is getting it, too, so you're also included in my good thoughts, Lynn. I just can't imagine such violent weather! I'm very glad to live here!
Enough. I have to go lie down in a dark room and breathe, breathe, breathe...... Everyone, have a good day and be SAFE!
Finally managed to have a decent eating day...not great, not even good but decent! After putting back on almost 6 lbs!! Today I told myself I WILL have discipline! And I did do a lot better..
My legs are continuing to hurt but the pain is responding to motrin/ibuprophen, but I have to take it (or something) at least 3 times a day. The pain is worse when I sit so I can't stay on the computer very long which is a good thing in a way I guess. I get more done.
The hot flashes continue to keep me awake at night and are still happening during the day too although the nights are the worse. I take black cohosh and soy in a product called Estroven, but they continue despite the supplement. I think I've tried all the supplements. I think Rimiphemin works the best for me but it is expensive so I rarely buy it. Think I may buy it next time though as I am so tired of this. There is some concern about black cohosh be bad for you too ...think it was ca. It's hard to know what to do.
Well, it is bedtime and tomorrow is a busy day. I hope everyone is safe from the storms or safe in them if they are. I am not anywhere near them. Take care everyone.
Good Morning, All...
Quick entry, domestic drudgery calling......!
Lynn, glad the storm turned out to be a "dud"... our WeatherFools said that our cold front was pushing ol' Earl out to sea. I'm GLAD, and I hope Missy PT/Zoe had the same experience as yours.
Nothing, nothing, nothing to report. I'm craving comfort food and I have a recipe for chicken (instead of seafood) gumbo (see Recipe list), which sounds really good. So does meatloaf and mashed potatoes... but, sigh, I'm sure I have some chicken breasts in the freezer that I can fix for dinner. Actually, sesame chicken and wontons sound really, really good! Excuse me while I slap myself back into reality!
Good morning all....Slowly but steady decrease in my back/leg pain. Many years ago my GFinL would complain about arthritic pain as a poysin that sauts in and drains down the leg....laughed at his discription until now!
Bobbie....I had to stop directing the bridge games last year when they moved to a new building and put the director's desk up on a stage with short choppy steps(no rail either). Could not manage the walking.....had measured the distance and in a big game ran about 3 miles...add steps and it killed me. After 25 yrs of directing must admit love being just a player! We are going to Orlando the Monday after Thanksgiving to the Winter Nationals for a week.
Rosie....Thank you thank you thank you.....half way thru 1st book and enjoying it very much. Do you suppose she Sara Donati is Diana Galaldon's cloned sister???? I have 3 more of her books lined up and waiting for me.
Jess next time send the cold fronts a little further South. You did good pushing Earl away. We could use a bit of cool air down here. Supposed to 94 today.
Dh went fishing at 4am. Dash and I just rolled over without opening an eye. Need to get to the post office before they close and then vegie stand for some more plum tomatoes to make some salsa. hugs, karen3
Happy week-end! Our local grocery store had fresh chicken on sale so I'm roasting it today. DH wants mashed potatoes with it so will make them without butter, some herbs and mix in some pureed cauliflower to lessen the calories. That's my plan for the week-end meals, tomorrow we'll nibble more on it and Monday I'll make chicken soup out of the balance. I save all the bones, skin, etc and throw them in a pot with bay leaf, some onion and cook the flavor out of everything for the chicken stock. When it's finished cooking, I strain out all the bones and leftover skin, refrigerate it overnight. The fat can easily be skimmed off the broth in the morning for fat free chicken broth. It makes the best soup ever. A couple days ago I breaded some zucchini rings with bread crumbs/fresh parmesan cheese and baked them for 20 minutes on high, they tasted like onion rings. I think I'll make them again while I still have zucchini in the garden to go with the chicken. I whipped up a batch of Molasses cookies yesterday for DH, the dough had to be refrigerated overnight and I'll bake them today. I'm gonna glue my mouth shut when they come out of the oven Keeping that thought in mind, I'm outta 'ere!
Good Morning everyone! I have updated my weight tracker AGAIN! and it is now correct! I am going to do my best to get back on track and stay motivated!! My eating isn't too bad but I do need to get some sort of INTENTIONAL exercise thing going again! But I figured it was time to make my ticker honest again--- not quite as bad as I thought, only added a couple pounds more than where I was, WHEW!
Need to get busy and get some stuff done around here this morning-- never know what is in the plans these days until it is here!! LOL!!
Morning everyone..cloudy and rainy again..being lazy today reading paper and drinking i was looking for something diff for breakfast and stay within my hi protein low carb diet,, and i remembered Janet Evonovich books stephanie plumm's fav sandwhich..so being quirky i tried it..1 slice ww bread, pbutter and green olives not too bad i must say its an acquired taste..hoping your all having a nice sunday (((hugs))) rosey
Hi everyone! We went to church this am then to a potluck with our Filipino Club. Lots of good food but I think I did fairly well. I had only 1 T of rice and maybe 1/4 c of potato salad, maybe an oz of beef steak, and maybe 2 or 3 oz of bbq chicken, a few carrot sticks and a couple raw broccoli florets. I dip three of them only very very lightly in the dressing. For dessert I had a small brownie and a tiny piece of my dh's rice cake. I estimate I got 546 in calories and 4 carb servings. Too much but not bad for a potluck. Two hours later my bs was good. So I'm a little high on the calories but otherwise ok.
Rosey - don't think I could eat that sandwich!! Yes, I agree it must be an acquired taste. LOL
Lynn - hope you had a fun day and a good dinner. You've earned it, I'd say! Glad you escaped the storm.
Bobbi - Chicken soup sounds good! I have been in the mood for soup recently ...guess it's the cooler weather and the thought of fall. I was tempted to buy the canned stuff but the thought of all the sodium makes me squirm. However I have no idea how much sodium I actually get in my homemade soup. gonna have to calculate that sometime. But I do know the homemade soup tastes much better!
Karen - sounds like you are doing better and getting back and motivated, GFY! I'm still working on getting back on track...each day I do a little better.
