Inspirational to read the stories posted by you ladies. I can't remember if I posted anything here or not, so I'll encapsulate:

I'm 46, single, chronic dieter since age 20. Just cracked down to an exercise plan and "sensible eating" which means only half of dinner if I go out and fruit or yogurt for snacks.

So far, the tight 3x has become a loose 3x. Some 2x fit and some are still a little snug. Goal is size 16, chubby but cute (the doctor told me she wouldn't bother me if I weighed 180 lbs.)

Anyway, again I want to thank you all for sharing your stories - so different but with the same struggle - and I hope to post a bit more often. Nice to meet everyone.

Also formerly from Houston!

I don't know what it is about cheese for me... I'd take it over chocolate - any day! I just laid in bed last night THINKING about it, what I could put it on, how I'd melt it. Damn, I am such a MESS!

I'm throwing it away the MINUTE I get home!

Then I'm weighing myself!

Just wanted to thank all of you for your great posts - makes me realize I'm not alone in my struggle.

BlueFlower - I'm with you on the cheese - I too would take it anyday over chocolate! lol

Today was ok - at least till I got home from work. Once I got home I got my son off the bus and off we went to Walmart for some healthy foods! I am proud of myself - got nearly everything on my list. But as I got home and was putting stuff away I found a bag of Lays potatoe chips stuffed in the back of the cupboard .....I caved - but only a little. (6 chips). I made my dinner, but I'm a sucker for the cheese and ranch dressing so I had to put some on my chicken (VERY little ). So it wasn't a perfect day, but better than many before. I've got my salad packed for tomorrow so again, I'm trying.....
Have a great day tomorrow eveyone!

Hi blueflower. I hope you were able to resist your nemesis, the big cheese.

My personal weakness is chocolate, and it set off a mini-binge this morning, ending my two-day binge-free run. It's funny, the little hershey bar was in the freezer for 2 days, but was the subject of many fantasies not unlike your cheese, and I finally gave in. Once I had the taste, everything else chocolate flavored in the pantry followed until all that was left was sea salt rice chips, and I ate the whole bag.

Although it was a horrible experience, I am relieved that the temptation is gone. Now, I just have to make sure I don't have any money to buy candy at work tomorrow - the first day subbing of the year for me since June. I am really nervous, will try to take enough healthy food to keep me going until I get home.

Good day everyone!! I realize that I never posted yesterday! Oh well...

I see new faces every day in this group and it is great! So happy to have all of you on board with us. The journey is so much easier with company.

I'm sorry so many of you are having binge issues. I do hope something we say here can help you all find new tools to help you in those types of struggles.

I saw a 151.5 on the scale this morning. I am not claiming it until it is an actual 151.0 That will be a big milestone for me (40 pounds lost) and I want it to be official!!

Sons surprised me last night.....they are always doing that! I had made grilled pork chops and rosemary roasted potatoes for supper. I wanted something green to go with it, so I had picked up some snow peas and steamed them lightly in the micro. Older son was so happy when he saw those and just started munching! Younger son wasn't quite so enthusiastic, but did eat some. I love seeing them enjoy healthier foods...very satisfying.

I hope you all have a lovely day!

foodfighter - temptation is such a tough thing - I've learned the hard way that it's better for me not to have anything too tempting around. Milk chocolate in any form and salty crunchy fried snacks are not allowed in the door around here as the 'I'll just have a bite' thing has failed too often. Good luck subbing!

momofboys - great job on packing your salad already - that makes such a difference the next day!

blueflower - how did it go with the cheese?

annie - working in a dr's office, do you find that there is more emphasis on healthy habits and eating well? I would have assumed so but wasn't sure.

Went on a nice walk last night with my bf before dinner and am planning on another walk with a buddy tonight. Hope you all are doing well....

DancerinDenver-Not so true even though you would think healthy living would be promoted. We have lunch brought in several times a week by drug reps and most of the time it is not the healthiest fare. I gained 15 pounds in just a few months when I first started working here. Yesterday was Italian buffet....very hard for me to resist, but I did resist it!

Sorry about the mini-binge. I think the key is NOT having this stuff around to fantasize about...

I did NOT throw it away yesterday, justified it by saying that was a lot of $ in cheese, there. SO WHAT, I already spent the $, I need to throw it away.
I did not eat any of it, had some raw almonds instead.

I have to do that, too. I wont charge fast food to a ccard, but if I have cash it can be too tempting. Good luck!!

Seems it might take me a bit to remember to check in here. Maybe I should make 3FC my "homepage".

Been doing OK with my eating but working our sporadically.

It's good to see so many here.... now I need to get my butt here on a regular basis.

I am having an up and down kinda day...big downer is I have an infected cyst and the antibiotics don't seem to be budging it. So looking like it will have to be drained either tomorrow or Saturday. OUCHEE.

BUT...I weighed myself for the heck of it as my cold is finally gone and I am DOWN to 213.4! WOOOHOOOOO!!!! Now once TOM is gone I can hopefully see another loss. (insert crossing of fingers)

Glad to see that people are making good choices (most of the time!)...that's what life is about, making more better choices than poorer ones.

Might not be back until Sunday, depending on my situation. Keep rocking ladies!

Good luck on getting the cyst taken care of, Maddie. Sounds painful.

Bad, bad day all around. Won't go into details, but many things going wrong. Nothing I can't handle, but still very disheartening. I ate a TERRIBLE supper of fried catfish, fries, corn, cole slaw, bread.....yeah...I may not see that 151.0 for another week or so. Back on plan as of right now, though.

Default no binge today

Annie: so sorry about your dinner, but I know you'll see your 150.0 soon! One of the things I am learning from this chat is what you wrote about, making better decisions, like making snow peas instead of mashed potatoes, so thanks.

Maddie: bummer about health issues, hope you're feeling better soon.

Blueflower: so proud of you for "just saying no" to the cheese - hang in there, I'm in your corner. And, no more chocolate or chips in MY house, thank you very much, and thanks for that very timely reminder, DancerinDenver.

MomofBoys: I never eat dressing, b/c it's too many calories for what you get. May as well have a Hershey bar! That's not advice, though, I'm the worst one to give advice. Way to go buying healthy food!

For me, today went pretty well. The kids were not horrible, I stayed out of the vending machines and was able to eat a reasonable amount of food, not junk, for dinner when I got home, even though I was STARVING and that can lead to bingeing, so - go me! Hope everyone has a good evening, and TGIF tomorrow.

Hi Ladies,
Everybody seems to be doing so well.
Typhoon passed us by and the heat has returned, I hate it when it so
hot ALL the time, no break now for over 2 months. This is unseasonal in
Japan as September is usually a nice month with cool mornings and evenings!

Diet and exercise had gone out of the window. Not sure what happens, I just can't be bothered most of the time. But I should be!!! My own Mom
died young, just 64 (she had the opposite problem, not enough weight, then got cancer in the gullet and couldn't eat!). When I think that in just 16 years
I'll be 64, I don't want to die then, I have so much left to do!!! So why don't I get on plan, eat the healthy food I have, do the exercises I should? Can anybody relate to this? Am i just lazy? Or crazy? My 16 year old summed up my diet by saying that I starve myself all day then stuff myself with chocolate at night

Blueflower.....Cheese, I love cheese and can only buy in 2lb blocks here.
I also dream about cheese!!!

foodfighter......Chocolate at certain times has been the downfall for me. Why is it impossible to have only one bite. Sorry about your binge but very happy to hear that your first day at work went okay, well done on staying away from the vending machines!!!!

Non my kids made school today, just over tired!!
Will try and get on later
Jackie

Good morning. I (mostly) made it through the week. I admit I caved yesterday, but Considering what I've gone through this week--dentist, among other things--I'm surprised I didn't cave earlier. It helped that I exercised well this week--not great, but well enough.

Today is treat day, and my plan is to stick to the allotted treat and no more than the allotted treat.

blueflower--I also love cheese (but not more than chocolate). Maybe you should cut it up into smaller portions and freeze the portions individually. You won't feel guilty about wasting it, you can pull out a portion at a time, and it is a lot harder to binge on frozen cheese. Most cheeses freeze just fine--be sure to wrap it well, or vacuum seal it if you can. (I do this to my C*stco cheeses.)

I'm off to exercise, and pleased to say, I'm looking forward to it.

Cindy - Right there with ya - getting back into the habit of posting has been difficult. I like the idea of making this the homepage. I also found that Subscribing to the thread was a helpful reminder.

dancer - uh, yeah ... c25k not so good yet. I'm getting a nasty addiction out of the way. I have a weakness for puzzle games, and I made the mistake of buying Picross for my son's Nintendo DS. I should not have picked it up. I'm two levels away from finishing the entire game, and I decided I was just going to do it. I cannot tell you how many hours of lost sleep and productivity have been fed to this silly game. Geesh!

Annie - good for you confronting the coworker. I hope the issues are over! Some people just are reactive, like little amoebas - they don't stop to consider why they do what they do, or the consequences that might come as a result. Forgivable in a young child, but a so-called health care professional?

News! Today we're adopting an American Fuzzy Lop bunny! I've never fallen so hard for an animal. He was the resident rabbit at my son's school daycare, and we hosted him for 3 weeks in July. I guess we spoiled him with too much love, attention, exercise, and fresh garden treats, because after we returned him, he got moody, shed up a storm, and began to bite. So the only responsible thing to do was to offer to keep him permanently. We spent last night re-bunnyproofing the living room. I am so excited!
