Just repeating here what I posted over on the Walk Away The Pounds accountability thread....
I am thinking of trying to "up" my exercise. Here is my problem....I don't want to devote much more time to it. Currently, I do the 3 mile Boot Camp (45 min.) on M/W/F and a 2 mile workout (30 min.) on Tue/Th. I have a 5 mile workout that takes over an hour to do. I am thinking about maybe doing that on Tues/Th if I can make myself get up earlier on those days. I just really want to get back to losing! I am getting close to my goal and want to get there soon!!
Okay, what....the....he**???? I just did it again. Pharm rep just brought in bakery-made, iced sugar cookies and I just grabbed one and ate it. I treat myself every now and then with these types of things, but this is 2 days in a row. I cannot let this become a habit or derail my efforts. I must regain my commitment to eating healthier before the holiday (read: "treat") season gets here.
Hi Annie,
I'm an Annie, too, so these threads can be confusing
I know what you mean... all good, then someone blindsides you with donuts/cookies, and as if on autopilot, it's eaten before you know it.
I ate 1500 cal of cashews last night, so binge count back to zero
Just too much junk in the house after the trip. And it's still there. I think the rest is resistable.
I need to come up with an easy breakfast that I can eat at work, at 10am. I hate early breakfasts, and even when I was eating them regularly I still had 10am cravings.
My cat is still loosing weight . I pre-measure her food, when it's gone - she's done. Wish someone would do that for me
Blueflower, just keep getting back up and starting again! That's all you can do. I hope today is better for you. I have a couple of go-to breakfasts if you are interested. Let me know!
I saw a 152 on the scale this morning and was so glad not to have gained. I want to resume losing, but will take the 152 for now and be thankful!!
I dressed for work today in my OU scrubs that I bought and for the first time in I don't know how many years.....I wore the shirt TUCKED IN!!! I'm still a little uncomfortable with my stomach, but I feel okay.
Also this morning: I did a 5 mile, 65 min. WATP fat burning workout!! It sure seemed long, and I had to go down to low impact on a couple of the "boosted walking" sections (got a twinge in my bad knee), but I did it!! Not sure I can afford that kind of time many days during the week, but am shooting to do it at least twice a week.....I'll be satisfied with once if that is all I am able to do, though. Very proud of myself today.

lambchop - all the best in your half! Can't wait to hear the details. And anyone who can run as far as you can is a definite gazelle in my book!
I'm off for my usual loop in a bit and will think positive thoughts in your direction...
Annie - how cool about your tucked in shirt - it's those NSVs that really bring home the changes in our bodies, don't you think? You mentioned wanting to up the intensity of your workouts without taking more time. Could you alternate walking and jogging intervals maybe?
blueflower - I struggle with early breakfasts too and I usually bring a lf yogurt and berries with me to work for breakfast around 10. Would that work for you at all?
I went over to a friend's house last night for a long walk in her park and to help her unpack (she just recently moved back to Denver after a few years away) and it got me thinking that I really need to go through my storage area and get seriously organized. I'm going to need some motivation though to really get into it - I'm thinking maybe a pair of suede slouch booties as a reward - anyone have any alternative suggestions? I'm looking for something a little trendy to add to my fall wardrobe - but not so trendy that I'll look like I'm trying too hard
Dancer-95% of the WATP workout is low-impact walking. In a section of each mile I did this morning, we switch to "boosted" walking, which is really just light jogging in place. I usually don't have a problem doing that, but 5 times was a bit much for my knee. So I just went back down to low-impact during the last two times.
Slouch boots sound fun! Good luck on getting oganized.
I'm just realizing how much I need to LEARN about food and nutrition. I've really been fumbling around in the dark all of my life.
Reading another thread, it seems I really need to get my proteins in earlier in the day, which makes total sense since that's when I'm crashing. My H is a Big Dinner guy, but on my own I hardly even eat dinner, getting my calories earlier in the day (and I was thinner).
Fortunately, my H is doing this with me, so I'm going to start pushing us towards lighter dinners, more calories during the day.
Hey, girls, I'm brand new to this site as of about an hour ago. I'm 41 yrs old and just found this thread. I hope a new one is started tomorrow for October.
A little about me: I was thin up until about 5 years ago, and then I put on a bunch of weight for the first time in my life. I'm 5'5 and went from 115 pounds to 185, approx. Yikes! I started working at getting back down to a healthy weight for my height before summer. I'm now down to 145. I look pretty good, but I don't feel done yet.
I've been messing around with me eating since Saturday, feeling unfocused and unmotivated for some reason. I decided I'd better connect with some other women in this journey so I can give and receive encouragement. I'm glad I found you!
Before I wind this post up, today has been a good eating day for me so far. I think I'm back on track!
Keep the faith, girls, and I can't wait to get to know you all better!!
Good evening. Got up too late this morning to post, so making up for it now.
Three days--nope, three and a half days, now--with no sugar. And work was full of temptations--free food: cookies, chips, hot dogs. I stayed away from it all.
I did partake of a moon cake in honor of the lunar new year, but that was bean curd, so no biggie (it was a small portion). Hamburger, no bun, for dinner tonight.
Blue flower--I hope you want your cat to lose weight, and not that she's losing it because of health problems. And cashews are better than sugar--at least for me--so I personally wouldn't rate it as a full binge, just a partial.
Annie--I hear you about the cookies at work. Exercise takes time--if you figure out a way around that let me know.
Alyssa--welcome.
That's all for tonight, time to start cooking.
