Wow, what a witch... threw away your lunch?

People can sure get weird when you start loosing weight. I saw a friend after I'd lost about 20lb, and she was very much WTF are you doing, complete with dirty looks! Like it was an insult to HER that I lost some weight.

People...

Hello Everyone!

This morning I decided to google "self defeating weight loss" and came across this website. It was like an answer to my prayers. I truly believe that 3FC will be an excellent resource. The stories are very inspiring.

annie - that's crazy! I can't believe she did that. On the positive side though, you must be looking amazing to get her that jealous I don't envy you having to deal with that at work - no fun. Glad you're enjoying your orchard though.

maddie - 2.2 - that's great! Good for you!

foodfighter - what an incredibly hard thing you're dealing with. Please let us know how we can help.

ange - nice job on the 8K!

Hi all -
I'm new to the thread - but not really new to 3FC. In 2008 I was a regular on the Metabolic threads. I lost 30 lbs then and I loved the support/ideas/tips I found there. I quit Metabolic (too restrictive and WAY too expensive) and within a year I gained everything back and then some. The past 6 months I seem to be just ballooning out of control even tho it doesn't seem like I've been eating any different. Im not a great eater, nor do I exercise much - but lately its seriously like my body is completely in self-destruct mode. I KNOW what to do to lose weight, but after a week of following a healthy plan I see no progress at all and I give up. It's a terrible cycle I've gotten into and I need help getting back on track.

Hello Everyone!
I'm new to 3FC and, at the age of 44, new to serious weight loss. I've been overweight for 23 years, but now my priorities have changed. I want to age in a healthy way so I can play with my granddaughter and not have a stroke. :-)

Welcome cgracia, joplin and mom of boys!
cgarcia : I used to live in the houston area : )
annie: wow, how ugly of her!

So I was feeling really good about myself after all the compliments I got at both weddings this weekend, and seeing the ex's girlfriend had gotten huge (my girlfriend nicknamed her bigfoot). And this morning I was down another lb to 163, getting closer to being back at 161. But then I saw the pictures of myself and am horrified. I look horrible, fat, and mean! I am really, really depressed : (

My girlfriend took almost 300 pics, some really good ones if anybody is into weddings and wants to browse through them.

Default whoa

thank you all for your kind words, Maddie, blueflower, dancer and kittehmomma, and welcome cgracia, joplin and momofboys.

Great news, Maddie, on your 2.2 lb loss, I'm so happy for you. I hope for the day I can see a budge on my scale.

Blueflower, awesome news on not bingeing! I struggle so much, and it's been 2 days for me, which might be some kind of record. Let's support each other.

Annie: envy is a horrible thing to deal with in others, and it makes them do ugly things. It's probably not enough to pity them, which is why it's good to have 3FC so you can vent!

For me, today is day 2 without eating all day long, just 3 sensible meals without snacking. I'm not sure what's going on, but am willing to just go with it.

Good morning. I'm down a pound--but it's just the water coming off. Well, it's a start.

Short and sweet today because I have to go into work early. I hope everyone has a good and productive and strong day.

Bye.

Hi, everyone!

Driveby for me as well this morning, but it should be getting better next week. So glad that school is under way and that the "new normal" is settling in.

No pool time yet, and the long weekend was a grade of C at best ... but the 149.0 still sticks. It's still 6 pounds less than this time last year, and if I have to have a sticking point, well, this isn't too awful.

Stay on target!

Morning All!

My anti-candida diet is really paying off. For the past 2 days I have totally forgotten to eat any carbs...and not even miss them. Just lots of veggies and protein(meat and nuts/seeds) And the truly amazing thing is I am finding it "hard" to go past 1100 calories. I was told to eat as much as I wanted as killing all the little buggers was first priority and weight loss would be a very welcome bonus. But I am in the yeast die-off phase and man...I am so happy that the kids are in school so I can suffer in peace!

Becky-you're right...I would kill to be stuck at 149!! lol

Jacqueline- that's great that you have had a great 2 days!!

Kathi-sorry you don't like that pic. Maybe it's good motivation for tomorrow? My final straw to get this weight off was a pic taken at my 5 year olds pre-school grad. Yep...pretty freakin awful. Hugs!!

Jopin-welcome! I used to teach in Granville Lake (up by Leaf Rapids),Dunrea and Boissevain...also went to univeristy in Brandon. I'd move back to Manitoba in a heartbeat...hubby...not so much.

kittehmomma-like you said...a pound is a pound. Yay!

Becky(momofboys)...welcome! I see you started another thread so I'm headed there after I do some personals.

cgracia...welcome! I think you will like 3FC! I really appreciate the fact that it doesn't matter how much you need to lose,EVERYONE is on your side here!

Ok...phone is ringing, should go. Have a great day everyone!
Maddie

Default New Chick

Hi All! I am new to the site. I am a 47 year old Mom and Nan who had gastric bypass surgery 7 years ago.

My initial weightloss was 110 lbs. Since that time, 40 lbs have krept back on. This is my time to get serious about my health. I have been through too much to let it overcome me again. My renewed battle begin about a month ago with a low carb plan and walking half hour a day. I have gained weight.

Now I am going to do the Weight Watchers Flex plan. It seems no matter what I do, it isn't working. I have a good journal to document my eating, drink loads of water daily and have cut my sugar intake to almost nothing.

I have enjoyed reading your stories and I am very motivated. Please say a prayer!

Came SO close last night. I have a block of cheese in my fridge from the Labor Day weekend... I am so bad about cheese

I fought it, stayed in bed, and am VERY glad that I did!

blueflower - cheese is my big weakness too - throw that sucker out!

rolltide - welcome!

maddie - I'm so impressed by your not missing carbs. I did Atkins for a while years ago and it about did me in. A buddy of mine has had chronic yeast issues and no carbs or at least no wheat has really helped her. Best of luck!

ICU - how's C25K going? Are you taking a break for back to school?

wlw - I'm sorry you weren't thrilled with your pictures - I'm sure everyone else thought you looked fabulous. Personally I miss the old pre-digital cameras - I looked so much better without so many pixels and slightly overexposed We had a toga-themed murder mystery party this weekend and I wasn't happy with any of my photos either, despite being back at ticker weight finally. *sigh*

welcome Joplin and momofboys!

Blueflower-I agree that you should get rid of the cheese if it is that much of a temptation. At least carve off the majority of it (leaving a manageable amount for yourself) and take it to work, give it to a neighbor, etc. Don't keep more than you need.

I can't believe how many new faces we have lately! It is so encouraging to see so many women wanting to reclaim their bodies and their health! WOW!

Well, I got a pseudo-apology from my co-worker, but I don't think it was legit. I think she knew I was angry. I told her how expensive the produce was with no smile on my face. It's over for me unless she does it again, I refuse to stoop down to her level and make a huge deal of it. This is a doctors' office after all and we are grown ups.....most of us.

Had supper plans change for the third time today! My hairdresser had to reschedule until tomorrow so I am going back to grilling pork chops and roasting rosemary potatoes. My boys are with me all week and I want to cook a real meal in our new home.

I didn't wimp out this morning! (I have not been sleeping well and woke up late today.) Instead of blowing off my exercise, I did a 20 minute "Power Mile" WATP. I had planned for a 30 min. 2 mile session, but had to reduce to the other. I am proud I just didn't blow it off! It felt good to do something. My thighs are sore from getting back to the lunges yesterday (Boot Camp walk), but it is a good kind of sore.

It was hard to resist the Italian buffet brought into work today, but I knew I would be having supper with my boys so I stuck to what I brought.

A happy and healthy day to all!!
