They also have oars for the Resort Sports kyaking game. That looked cool to me but I didn't get it. I got a rechargeable battery pack for my balance board-yeah, I was being practical but you may want to go check it out sometime. Some really neat ideas and I've not seen that stuff anywhere else including Walmart.
That's awesome--Thanks for the tip! I've been wanting to get a platform for doing the step aerobics & now I know where to get it!!

Petra - thanks for the info re: Big Lots. I'm definitely going to check that out, although sometimes it feels like I'm spending as much to support my Wii as I do my son! Think I can declare it as a dependent on my taxes?? lolol!

Susie -

I never had the regular Wii Fit, just the plus, but great that it will carry over your data.

I'm such a nerd that I get so excited when my piggy bank changes - I'm silver now!

How many hours do you have to have to turn bronze?

I tried some new stuff again tonight. I tried the cycling-didn't like that. I must have hand eye coordination problems cause it was just too much for me to try to steer and pedal at the same time although in real life it isn't a problem-go figure. I tried the golf too. I didn't particularly like it but apparently I'm good at it. I hit some shots that were almost perfect and it put me in the "professional" level after my first try. That never happens. I tried the rhythm parade too-again the hand eye coordination problem. Also did the advance step for the first time-some tricky stuff in there but once you know what to expect I'm sure it isn't a problem. I also redid my Wii fit age cause I haven't done it in a while and now I'm 21! That is hysterical. I was 64 before.

I did the basic run again-brought a pair of shoes out to the living room to use and apparently I did well enough that I have unlocked the long run for next time-oh gee, I get to sweat more!

I belong to a video game rental company that is kind of like netflicks. I rented a boxing game called Punch Out. It's fun for all you boxing fans-although this requires real boxing skills-knowing when to duck, dodge, block, etc. I don't have those but it has a practice section where to can learn those skills. It is also balance board compatible. Great way to burn some extra calories.

i was in the work out zone the other day and found out you can only work out for 3 hours. Then it wont record any of your time after that it will record calories though..

I don't think I'm in danger of doing more than 3 hours any time soon although I did 37 minutes last night and as I keep opening up longer and longer times I can see how you can start adding up time quickly.

I know people say this isn't REAL exercise but I'm actually a little sore today. I suspect it is actually from the boxing video game but still it is Wii boxing, not real boxing.

Does it take longer to unlock the more advanced stuff on the Wii Fit Plus games. I have gotten a nearly perfect score on the adding up to 10 thing and it still hasn't unlocked the next level yet. What's up with that?

Did 42 minutes tonight. I can see how that time can add up quickly.

I searched to find about wii fit and what others think of it and found this thread I don't have a wii, but for ages I keep thinking about one. Been saving up but now I can't bring myself to commit to buying it. I'm terrified i'll get it and won't like it, then what am I gonna do.. I'll be out the money. It's stressing me out hahaha

My main exercise is a recumbent bike (and I feel guilty for wanting to get a wii fit set too cause we just got the bike a couple months ago) I love the bike and ride daily. Just worried I'm not getting enough of a workout to be all.. full body wrkout, you know? Does the wiifit give a good workout?

I guess if it causes me so much anxiety I should just skip buying it hahaha

I think I got perfect scores two or three times before it unlocked the next level. But then I just had to get the next one (adding to 15) once, and it unlocked the expert level (add to 20). But I think they are all the same in terms of the movement/calories so I wouldn't worry too much!

Meowy-maybe if you know someone who has one, you can get them to let you try theirs out a little to see what you think before you decide whether or not you want to spend the money.

i want to try a wii fit game that doesn't require the balance board. i have a foot problem and sometimes it hurts my feet.

What is another good game to try. I have bad knees and feet but I do like playing the game. I do them the best I can and it's better then sitting on the sofa.

I can't do the anything getting on the floor. or squatting.

The running doesn't require the balance board but most of the other stuff does. You can get other wii games that are not wii fit that don't require the balance board and still can give you a good work out. The original wii sports for instance has boxing and tennis both of which can be a good work out. The resort sports has fencing and kayaking. They won't count your time or calories for you like wii fit does but you can definately get a good work out and sweat.

I can't do the running because I have arthritis in my knees. I do the step and that's pushing it but I like it so much I work thru the pain.

I know we have resort sports because I gave it to my daughter for xmas but didn't really think it had nay workout games Maybe I'll take a look.
