Terrible on the weekend .. only 12 min total! .. then did only 7 min yesterday .. so thats 19 minutes (tsk tsk tsk).

Sunday, I did 70 mins - 10 elliptical, 20 NuStep, 30 lap swimming
Monday 30 mins - 10 mins elliptical, 20 NuStep

60 mins + 100 = 160 mins

Group total 5548 + 100 = 5648 mins

harkey valley -- For me personally, walking in Walmart or a mall could count, but I really only if I am doing it continuously. I don't count any of the shopping I do, because there's too much stop and start...

Misti In Seattle (and I think Ammi) and I have the same pedometer, and it counts "aerobic" steps. Steps at a certain pace that last for at least 10 min. I generally record my minutes based on what it says! That way I don't count meandering time.

You are free to count what you want!

Nightkatt -- just count it! Don't worry about how little it seems like!


I got in 22 more min at the gym weightlifting tonight!

Group total ~ 5648 + 22 = 5670 minutes!

Yes, I only count aerobic steps too... but during the super hot weather here I intentionally went to a big store and walked all around the edges of it inside and also at times up and down the frozen food/cooler aisles. :) So it CAN be continuous walking in a store or mall if you plan it that way.

Sue -- Yes, I've done that too in a mall! I'm with you about the intentional minutes. Speaking of which, I got in another short walk with the dogs... 12 min. I'm not really feeling like it's a workout for me, but I will continue to count it for the forseeable future, as it gives me that intentionality, which I need right now.

Anyhoo...

Group total ~ 6170 +12 = 6182

And, just like that *snap* over 100 hours (6000 min) of exercise for us this month !!

I sometimes go up to the mall for NO reason just to walk around it, LOL, I can get it (fast) window shopping as I'm walking through, and get my walking time in! :) But now I usually walk home afterwards - 2 miles. :) Woo Hoo! But if it's a continuous walk, mall walking can be a great way to get some exercise in while staying out of the heat! :)

Hi Ladies - Got in a 13 minute walk tonight, then did 20 minutes strength training, and 5 minutes of yoga/stretching. So for the 2nd half of the day that's 38 minutes for me. New totals are:

Personal Total: 477 + 38 = 515/310 - 205 minutes past my goal.


Group Total: 6182 + 38 = 6220

Wow, we are really cranking this month! Way to go!!!! 100,000 here we come! Heather, I forgot... when do you leave? Can we make it before you go?

As for walking, a lot of my time is in 10 minute increments, since I walk on both my breaks at work. I also do about 35-40 minutes of my lunch hour usually, but I do count the 10 minute times as well... anything that registers on my ped as aerobic, I count.

I decided to have a couple of 'rest' days because I was unusually tired on Sunday. So I haven't used any equipment yesterday and today. Yesterday I did 20 mins of aerobics with the kids and today I did 20 mins of laps of the oval with the kids and a 10 min walk home from work.

Personal Goal... 910 - 50 = 860 mins left of August's goal of 1200

Group Total... 6313 + 50 = 6363

Hi ladies! You all are doing so well! You are inspiring me to try harder.

Ok, yesterday after dinner I walked for 45 brisk minutes w/ my dh.
Today, 60 minutes at the gym.
So, a total of 105 minutes since I last checked in.

That's 6743 plus 105 = 6848 for the group and 375 / 1000 for me.

KRISTIN--Sure, the more the merrier!

I overdid it today--not that I'm not pleased to have more minutes than usual to add--but I took a 45 min. walk that was too hard on my knee. Had errands to run on campus, so I didn't really have any choice. Hope I'm mobile tomorrow! Also did 15 min. on the bike before I left the house to make sure I'd get it in, so that's a whopping 60 min. for me today.

Personal total: 213/643 remaining

Group Total: 6997 + 60 = 7057

Today I did 54 minutes of aerobic walking and 65 minutes of water aerobics. Total of 119 minutes

Personal total 712 minutes
1500 goal - 712 = 788 still to go

Group total 7742 + 119 = 7861

We are almost to 100,000! I looked it up and Heather said it was 8384 to go in August. That means we are only 523 minutes away! Yipppeeeee.... who will take us over the mark?

Wowsa! I doubt we will get there before I leave in the morning, but I will try to check in (staying with parents and will have some online access). I expect to log in and see that WE HAVE MADE OUR 100K GOAL!!!

Remember, the magic number is 8384 minutes!!!

In the meantime, I have 45 min to add (treadmill).

Group total ~ 7861 + 45 = 7906 minutes!!!

only 478 minutes to go before we have exercised 100,000 min this year!!

Okay, we will do our best! :) I plan to get in a bit of extra walking tomorrow since I am going to an outdoor concert at a nearby church. LOL I am meeting a couple and another single woman who live in my apt complex... the couple attends that church... so the woman offered to stop by and take my lawn chair for me so I can walk down and back! :)

It won't be long!!!! Bet we make it tomorrow... tonight is kind of pushing it before you leave in the morning unless there are some really earlybirds around here. :rofl: Since I am on the Left Coast and leave for work at 6 AM, it won't be me!! :o

Someone mentioned incidental exercise yesterday - well I ended up getting some. I went to Costco to get stuff for the office and I didn't notice it at first, but I got a bum cart with a wheel that wouldn't turn. It was SO hard to push that by the end of the trip my arm muscles were burning and I was sweating. It was so much work that I am counting it for 20 minutes. I was then exhausted when I went to the gym, but still did 25 minutes on the elliptical. That brings my total to 405.

The group total is 8,082 + 45 = 8,127
