Hi Ladies - Got in an additonal 20 minutes of walking, and then 15 minutes of light strength training! Woo Hoo!

Personal Total: 163 + 35 = 198/310 - 112 minutes to go!


Group Total: 2055 + 35 = 2090

As for me, I got in NO exercise yesterday :( and broke my exercise streak! I had done some kind of exercise EVERY DAY since May 25th (some days was just 10 min ab and back or 15 min walking the dogs).

I'm not that upset about the streak, as it was never something I was striving for. I just found that it was easier to keep up with my goals if I did something each day and it just went from there. So I am more upset that I am now behind by about a half hour! Luckily, it's early in the month! Ah well.

I added Zelma's minutes to July,which changed the minutes needed to goal. We need 8384 minutes to reach our 100K goal!!!

I forgot to add my walk home from work on Wednesday, so I'm adding that 10 mins today... Hey, every minute counts huh?

Today I did 40 mins on the exercise bike and a 10 min walk to school.

Personal Goal... 1090 - 60 = 1030 mins left of August's goal of 1200

Group Total... 2090 + 60 = 2150

I'm hoping to get a couple of good walks in over the weekend, but not sure if the weather will oblige.

I'll give it a whirl. You girls are going to beat me on time hands down but I just paid off my last hospital bill and I'm not going to give them any more business so I'm starting at 30 minutes a day guananteed and a little more if I can handle it. So how about 800 minutes for the balance of August? You 1000 or more ladies are Olympians. Go for the gold and I'll bring up the rear. Every group need a turtle. I'll be late to the finish, but I promise to get there.

I figured yesterday's exertion would hurt me today, and it did. I did 20 minutes on the elliptical and 15 minutes on the treadmill. That brings my total to 215.

The group total is now 2,449 + 35 = 2,484

Hi Again Ladies - Did some lower body exercises (calf raises), some yoga moves (warrior, tree, etc), and some stretching (calves, back, etc). Did 12 minutes worth - considering I already walked for an hour today I didn't think I needed to push it with exercises that I didn't even plan to do in the first place. Felt like giving a little lower body boost with some relaxation - but I still broke a sweat, yay!! :) So, totals now:

Personal Total: 249 + 12 = 261/310 - 49 minutes to go! Tee Hee! :lol:


Group Total: 2690 + 12 = 2702


Question For All: What's the most minutes you've accomplished in a month? :)

60 mins on the treadmill for me. Didn't manage to get a walk with hubby in.

Personal Goal... 1030 - 60 = 970 mins left of August's goal of 1200

Group Total... 2882 + 60 = 2942

I got in 75 minutes last night at the gym. 45 cardio and 30 weight training.

GROUP TOTAL: 75 + 3092 = 3167

Harkeyvalley – welcome! However, I wouldn’t call 30 min a day a start – I think it’s quite ambitious – maybe too ambitious! I really had to work up to that. I think if you really are just starting out you may want to think about what is realistic for your body as well as how to fit in into your day. Also, can you go from nothing to committing to something every day? If you only work out 6 days a week, then to keep the 30 min average (out of 7 days) you actually have to put in a few more minutes each day to keep up. When you’re first starting out, this can be defeating.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. We are all at different places here, and if you are just starting out you should not compare yourself to someone who has been exercising for a long while. When I started I could barely manage 400 minutes/month!!

I keep seeing people around here starting with really high numbers and many of them give up and leave! Please set goals appropriate for where you are now in your journey!

Vilandra – I think you set a GREAT first goal and boy won’t you be ecstatic when you crash through it!


As for me, after nothing on Thursday, I am redeeming myself. Yesterday was 55 min (30 min walk and 25 min lifting) and then hubby and I walked downtown and back (56 min)... so I can add 111 minutes!

Group total ~ 3167 + 111 = 3278 min!

Thanks Wyllenn for the info. I thought I was being too lazy for less than 30minutes. I start on my stationary bike and go for 10 to 15 minutes, not to fast but steady. I move to the gazelle and I can only last about 10 minutes. I have a little trampoline about 4 Ft wide for exercise and I can bounce to music another 10 minutes and wind down on the stationary bike for 5 to 10 minutes. These times are flexible and are based on how I'm doing on each one as to how long I last. This way I don't use the same muscles the entire time and I'm don't get as tired as quickly. I'm feeling good about it. I have some oldie but goody jazzercise videos but I'm too embarassed to do them in front of my grandkids who I babysit weekdays. They are only 9, 9, 10 and I don't what them to see grandma's fat flying around the room scaring them to death. It might stunt their growth. I would even hate to see me doing it in the mirror. Isn't that oughful? How could a person let themselves get so fat that they are too embarassed to exercise, especially in front of loved ones? How did I let myself get this way? I don't know, but I do know that with the help of you great ladies (&men) I won't be fat anymore! This is the last diet I will ever go on. It's coming off and staying off, "So Help Me God"!

HarkeyValley, I know what you mean about having anyone see me exercise - YIKES! I still don't exercise in front of DH. It's a great step forward for me to have gotten in the motel pool today, for the first time in 15, 20, 25 ??? years!!

YES! I WENT SWIMMING!!! and I'm going to take credit as exercise because I made a point of moving the whole time. It was DEVINE!!

Did another 10 mins on the exercise bike for a total of 404 minutes for August. Goal is 1500 so another 1096 to go. I will probably "up" my goal if we don't get any more waves of that super hot weather when I just could not do as much.

We have a lot of new people who aren't familiar with things around here, and we are having problems picking up each others totals. If no one else has posted since you discovered your mistake, you can edit the post to fix it! Don't worry -- we ALL make mistakes!

So, to make it easier, please use the format:
Group total <old> + <your minutes> = <new total>

And please make it stand out on a line

So, starting back with nicole's minutes: 3714 minutes


Group total 3714 + 75 (celery) + 52 (Vilandra) = 3841 minutes!

wyllenn - Is multiple posts a day confusing? As in, if I exercise once in the morning and once and night and post them seperatly at the time I do the minutes is that okay? Or would you rather me add up throughout the day and post once? :) TIA!

Hi Ladies - Whoops, yeah, looks like things got a bit confusing back there, at least we're back on track now; thanks for fixing that wyllenn! :) Okay, I'm insane.....adding on another 27 minutes for my strength training I did - man I just burned that session!! WOO HOO!! So for Saturday I had a total of 110 minutes!! :faint: (83 minutes walking, 27 minutes of weights!!) So, new totals:

Personal Total: 344 + 27 = 371/310 - 61 minutes PAST my goal! :cheer:


Group Total: 3861 + 27 = 3888
