I've been finding myself eating more than I should some days. That's something I want to work on this week.

Week 01 Aug 26- 255.8 (-3.4)
Week 02 Sep 02-251.8 (-4.0) total so far is 7.4 lbs lost with 31.8 to go.
Week 03 Sep 09- 246.8 (-5.0)total so far 12.4 26.8 to go my 30th wedding anniversary :)
Week 04 Sep 16- 242.6 (-4.2) total so far 16.6 with 22.6 to go
Week 05 Sep 23- 243.6 (a gain!) I just had a bad week! LOL
Week 06 Sep 30- 244.0 another gain. sigh. Oh well New Start.

Yay broke the 3 pound marker. lol. It's only an extra pound, but I'll take it! Normally I wait until Monday to weigh myself, but I did a little cheat earlier this week just to see where I was. I just wanted to see if I could get more than a three this time. (Plus I binged on so much starchy carbs I needed to remind myself why that wasn't a good idea). :( So midweek I knew I was floating around the 300 mark, and man did I ever amp up the workout to make sure I "paid" for those cheat days. :) I'm glad I did! It feels awesome to be under 300 again.

MNEUBAUER - Welcome on in .. lovely to have new people join ... all on similar journeys, maybe at different stages or plans .. but definitely able to offer support ... gotta ask .. WHAT is a Turkey Day Trim-down? Im thinking its something to do with the US Thanksgiving .. I know Canada have theirs in Oct and US Nov ... so is that it?? Let me know what your goal is and start weight and I will pop it into the chart :) Look forward to seeing you on the boards :)

SIG - Love your lil pop up posts ... even a line or two is something nice for me to read .. I feel like I babble so much in here lol .. nice to read something other than my own posts :) Glad you are enjoying the group :)

FRESH - Ok hun .. I just gotta ask ... what on earth are you eating to add that much extra on .. or really .. what are you not eating through the week that allows such a huge drop? I try to have my "cheat" day through the week rather than the weekend .. that way I have a better chance of fixing it before my weigh in lol .. on the plus side .. you still got a "-" in front of your weigh in this week :)

ONLY BELIEVE - That is a lovely steady loss this week :) I had a txt from my friend who is on WW yesterday asking for me to get the wet noodle to slap her with lol .. when I asked why .. she said she couldnt stop eating ... when I asked what .. she said crackers & carbs! When you get that urge to eat a little more than you should .. what tricks do you use to curb it (if any?) ... Im finding almost the opposite is happening with me lately .. Im having to force myself to eat ... even the one full meal a day! But as long as its a plate of veg Im happy lol .. and look at your loss!! Home stretch and less than 16 pounds to go .. wahoo :)

TURTLE - Hey thats good .. its consistent .. I love the pattern of your loss .. Im so tempted to do graphs for everyone lol .. will be lovely to look at all the slopes etc ... sigh .. I really need to get my shop open lol .. 5 weeks loss in a row ... well done :) Only 9 pounds to go .. definitely well on track :)

TIME4ME2CHANGE - Great loss for you this week .. and definitely no stressing over that pound .. heck almost 4 gone anyway! I think you are right on track ... especially if you keep it up .. you will fly to your goal :)

MARA - definitely no stress there .. probably a bathroom break lol .. I think you are doing great .. maybe look at last week as a maintenance one ;)

SPINDERELLA - Wahooo .. welcome to TWOTOWN!! And a great job on hitting the 4 pound loss .. every pound makes a difference when getting rid of it :) I have a peek at my weight usually on a Thursday/Friday .. just to see how I am going .. it also sometimes gives me a push for the weekends plans :)

STARFISH - Well done on your recovery .. didnt take long at all :) I think you are keeping well on track and its sometimes good to have a bad week if for no other reason than to give you a kick up the tush to remind yourself what you are doing with your choices :)



Woke up with a heck of a headache this morning .. which always puts me off for the day .. feel like Im am perpetually on catch up .. so just going to take it a little easier today before the madness of the new shop starts with our main setup on Saturday and opening next Tuesday (hopefully they will have finished most of the building by then .. and at least have the toilets in!!)

As I said about my friend sent me a text yesterday stressing over the fact she cannot stop eating .. and its all about crackers and carbs ... admittedly not one of the better nibbles one might crave when trying to lose weight lol .. She is doing WW and had a bad week last week putting 1kg back on after doing so well for the last couple of months and she feels like she is in a freefall of bad habits .. Sooooo .. what options would you think would be good for her?

I had a few things in mind .. for things that work for me anyway .. and one of them was from when I was giving up smoking (after over 12 years I gave up cold turkey 12 years ago), so here were my suggestions ..
- STEP AWAY FROM THE CRACKERS (lol .. a little tongue in cheek .. but sometimes that works)
- Have a container in the fridge with carrot sticks .. or celery if you like that instead.
- Prepare "snack" containers at the beginning of the week with like 100 calories in of fave treats ... assign one a day.
- a bag of popcorn .. we have mini bags of microwave lite butter popcorn in NZ .. its 150 cal .. but it does offer that salty yum snack to help the cravings I think ..
- bribe yourself for the next mouthful (this is what I did for smoking lol .. whenever the craving hit I would pick up my cross-stitch (which I was teaching myself) and say when I get to the end of this string .. or this row .. or this patch then I will be allowed one .. by then the craving had usually gone). I have also done this before when I was having food thoughts all the time ..

I have found often those cravings have been when I have been bored .. or socialising around food ... its like when I used to smoke .. always smoked more when I was socialising or at the pub/nightclubs etc ... so how do YOU cope in those situations? Are you aware of what you are eating ... do you curb yourself? Or do you just enjoy the night/event and not think about it until the next day? For myself its now a case of I dont really like eating in front of people in general lol .. so I tend to handle the outings a lot better than I used to :)

Soooo .. how about you peeps?? If you had a friend text you .. asking for help and ideas to curb the non-stop eating .. what advice would you offer?

only down one this week, I am going to really cut back on calories, need to see a bigger loss. WOW amazed at how much you guys are losing!!! Awesome Job, thanks for the inspiration! I am on it this week!!!!

Hunny is bringing home Fish & Chips for dinner .. oh dear ... but I am pretty good with them cos not high on my YUM list lol .. I take the crumb off my fish and only have about 10 chips .. but to go with it I have made a yummy salad ... baby cos, baby corn, beetroot, gherkin, cucumber, sprouts (alfalfa & pea shoots)... topped with a teaspoon of sunflower/pumpkin/sesame seeds :)

Oh ... here is a question for everyone ... are you affected by how your food looks? Or does the look not make any difference? Same with smell ...

Personally I cant eat something that looks like a dogs dinner lol .. or something that smells wrong .. I like colour in my food (hence loving my veggies!) ... I do love cheese .. but I hate the smell of some of them so wont touch them lol ..

How about you??

Katt: Kettelbells are a weight ball with a handle. Mine are "iron"....I always worry I will let go and it will fly into the TV or window.:mad:

I am just learning to use them...but it is a good, fast workout.

Haven't thought about that before, Katt...but I agree I wouldn't want anything that looks like dog dinner. I don't like looking at people's "rare" meat....GAG!!!!! blood running... YUCK....not for me. Maybe cause I was a vegetarian for 30 years.... :D

I don't have a good "smeller" so that doesn't bother me so much.

Oh the look of the food that I eat... hhhmmmmmm If its something that I have always liked then the look is good. New food I am always wary... wary wary wary as people could hide vegetables in that food that I cannot See :lol:

The smell... Anything with vinegar turns my tummy (and liver does me in at least a mile away) lol

The look and smell definitley affect me. If it smells to bad, ex sardines, I cannot eat it. But the more appealing the sight and smell the more excited I am about the meal and the more likely to stick to the plan. :)

good question... I like food that looks good... but I am more inclined to taste and smell I think.

Example... the smell of cooked/cooking cabbage makes me ill.. and anything eaten in that time is overtaken by the smell of cabbage... for my mum it's fish... she can tell if fish has been cooked in the house several hours later and she hates that smell.

I don't think colour really does much for me.... but I like bright fresh looking vegetables.... and 'natural' colours.

ISLES! Hey hun .. nice to see you .. was a little worried when I missed you last week .. but I figured you must have been busy :) Sooo .. these balls .. what so you do with them?? Sounds like you are swinging them round not lifting them up like barbells? Yeah .. that wouldn't be good for me ... I have useless grip and can just imagine the damage I would do with them lol .. and yay you goin back down again :) Ooooh .. did you know that rare steaks dont actually have blood running when you see it on the plate?? Its actually Myoglobin ... mixed with a little water. Myoglobin is used in the animals muscles to store oxygen .. sort of like Haemoglobin does in our bloodstream :) its actually what decides if a meat is red or white :) High levels are red .. low levels are white ...

Right well .. that was my piece of useless information for the week rofl ..

WANNASKIPANDLAUGH - You LOVE vegetables .. you know you do lol ... I have to be wary sometimes .. being allergic to tomatoes & mushrooms its a case of watching what they prepare to make sure there is minimal if any cross-contamination. Any offal puts me off .. liver, kidney etc etc .. YUCK! You are doing great ... another 2 pounds gone .. Brilliant!

MARA - That sounds like me .. my appetite is definitely heightened by my eyes and nose liking what its seeing and smelling. I hate the smell of tinned fish .. when hunny wants sardine sandwiches toasted I get my dinner first and leave the room lol ..

TIME - Im the same ... if I know there is going to be something gross getting cooked I make sure I eat first then evacuate the room lol .. after I spray the heck out of the kitchen and make sure all the rubbish or leftovers are gone out to the bin ...

Its definitely interesting how some people get affected by different things when it comes to food ... does anyone have any real food YUCK items on their list that they wouldnt touch with a barge pole ... so in other words .. if you were on one of those reality shows where they make you eat the weirdest things ... other than those ... what other food could they put in front of you that you would forego the 1 million dollar prize lol ..

I have a list .. and I didnt think it was too bad until I started writing down things I wouldnt eat lol .. so I categorised them (soooo OCD) ..
Veges - Tomatoes & Mushrooms (obvious reason why they at the top lol), Asparagus, Celery, Yams, Artichokes .... its nice how short this list is lol ..
Meat - Wild game .. cant stand it .. too strong ... Deer (BAMBI!!!) ... Mutton/Lamb (Had pet ones .. haven't eaten it for about 30 years lol) ... Offal (heart, brain, liver, kidney etc).
Other - Seafood .. not a fan really .. esp shellfish .. icky .. so slimy lol ..

And what is some of the more unusual things that you have tried .. annnnnd chances are wont try again lol ..
For me .. Escargot .... didnt mind it .. but wouldnt want it again lol .. and Frogs Legs .. actually wouldnt baulk at having them again ... Crocodile/Ostrich ... nope .. never again either lol ..

Oh .. and as for dinner last night .. darn hunny ... I made those beautifully yummy salads to go with the fish n chips .. and he knew not to get much .. but he did .. so I put my dinner on my sandwich plate (2 fish (crumb removed), 10 chips) .. and the rest went on his ... BUT ... I ate my salad first and he didnt ... so his salad didnt get eaten .. grrr ... and I didnt eat all my fish (always makes the dogs happy lol) ... but I packed it up for him to take to work today for his lunch lol .. he is going out for curry with his workmates .. so I have decided on another BIG salad with a little chicken bacon for dinner .. and a WW Jelly with Strawberries & Grapes in ... havent eaten anything else today yet .. although I didnt mean to miss eating .. got busy baking ..

Yes .. I have done the unthinkable and done a bunch of baking! The only reason I did it is cos I know I am going to my friends tomorrow so will be taking it all round to her lol .. just felt the need to bake ... so a dozen Carrot Cake Cupcakes, a dozen Vanilla Cupcakes .. and about 2 dozen Vanilla Cake Pops (they are little round balls of cake that you put on a stick and dip in icing/chocolate and roll in coconut or something) ... I do love baking .. but I rarely eat my own baking lol .. so its not too much of a problem for me really .. but my hunny will complain cos he will say its my fault he is eating it all rofl ...

Anyway .. time to get some more cleaning up done ready to take new things down to the store on Saturday to rig it up .. will take some pics when I have finished so you can all see my new endeavour :) Have a great day all .. look forward to more insights later :)
