I am late getting here this evening, but I have a really good reason......I had to make to pans of my famous banana pudding round these here parts for my daughter's school staff where she is a counselor. OMGravy......it was hard....but I did it, no big bowl of it for me....but I cannot tell a lie, I did lick the spoon....okay okay okay, so it was three times!!! LOL LOL So there you have it.......my positive is found my restraint!!!! Now both pans are out of the house and I am safe for the night.
I popped over to the monthly chat thread and chimmed in over there, they are some really cool ladies there and they are justing chatting away about everything.....Life!!! There is one lady there and her name is Annie, but she calls herself dog pal. What a journey she has had and Annie is kicking butt. So here is a shout out to Annie (Dogpal) Woot Woot Annie!!! You rock!!!
Misty,
knitting, I can see you now, please post a picture when you finish your project. Love your friend's name, Stormy, how cool is that and I am thrilled to know that your mother is better. Please post a picture of your little doggie, I would love to see her in her coat and red boots. Just thinking of it makes me smile. And remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so love your raven beauty. Now get that house spic ans span and enjoy your walk.
Learn,
right now I am not sure when we will get to Fla and I sure would love to meet you and Stella in NC/SC....what a trio, we could do up the town!!! LEarn, it ws beautiful here Monday, cold as the Artic Tues, and again today. Lord please send warmer weather soon.
Linda,
tomorrow I will try to post my shrimp salad recipe and my salad (green) that is with crab in it and maybe even crab cakes. If I dont get home to late from my WW meeting and WI. Speaking of my BIL, he beat me by 2 ounces last week, we shall see what happens tomorrow. I will keep you posted.
That's right baby girl, walk on by, they them they cannot claim you today, because you are getting healthy and fit!!!! Think of all those calories you burned doing all of those errands today. WTG!!!
Susan,
ZUMBA ZUMBA, I bet you can hear the drums caling your name. Hope your doc's visit goes well.
Well sweet taters, Ags is leaving the building,
hugs love and blessings and remember to make every moment count,
Ags/The Red Queen
Misty- I love your positive attitude. Your sounding stronger everyday.
Uh oh! Is that Molly Bunny being stalked by Papparazzi? Should I keep a look out for her on EXTRA? LOL!!!
Linda- I believe your right about those fastfood places enticing people with those smells of greasy french fries, burgers, etc... But good for you for ignoring temptation and sticking to your journey. It shows you really want this.
Susan- You'll kick that 2 lb. gain right to the curb once you get back to your regular ZUMBA schedule again. I know your not worried about it.
Ags- I would be glad to send warmer weather, but only if your send cooler down here. I was enjoying the warmer until I had to turn my A/C on, now it's too hot, but not hot enough at night to open up the pool. We got a deal or what?
Carol and I will be here toe tapping, waiting to hear how WI goes tonight. I know you'll kick some scale butt.
Well I had a great day eating and moving. I managed to do some work in the yard picking up twigs and stuff. Today I will finish cutting back plants that were burned by frost. I started it last week, but my knees gave out almost immediately, but I'm ready today. I bought me a Garden Hopper. It's a wagon/seat with fat wheels on it so I can sit while I cut the plants down. Now I can just scoot along and cut, cut, cut!
Had a great visit with mom yesterday. They had musical entertainment for the residence and I stayed and enjoyed watching mom enjoy the music. It was like a "Name That Tune" sort of thing. The man singing and playing the guitar would give a hint to the next song title and the residence would have to guess the song title. If they guessed it right they would win play money which they can spend at an auction they are having next month. My sister was with us and we ended up winning mom $7000.00 in play money. Mom made me swear on my grave to not lose her money.
O.K. Girly's I'm gonna hit the road. Gonna go get some laundry started and as soon as it's light out I gonna jump on my Garden Hopper (are you picturing it?) and get to work.
Hi everyone! Thanks to those that missed me. All is going well, I'm very busy with my photography during the tourist season (winter). Plus my fiance is down here in the Keys with me for the winter, so we're doing something every day. I'm happy to report I'm maintaining my weight loss. I go to an exercise class plus we're going to start to go to yoga together (at least that is the current plan!).
I will check in now and then and remember my lovely positive ladies and hold you close to my heart. xxx CJ
Ags,,,You are the queen of restraint..............3 licks of the delish banana pudding - and even better - it is out of sight, gone from the house - no longer to tempt you. I'll be watching for the recipes on crab and shrimp - no hurry. Love the family rivalry with b-i-l at WW.......Good luck with weigh in tonight - let our Ags be the winner.............
Susan........dear lady - I watched a couple videos on utube last night of zumba. Now - if you are doing what they were doing - OMGoodness - they were shaking their booty, looked like they were having a real good time. But - if I were to try that there would be too much flopping - probably knock myself out..........I bow before the zumba queen.........After today I'm sure you will be back at that gym.............You go girl - you are on a train readying for that sexy black dress..........
Learn.......Will be watching the evening news about the Garden Hopper lady zooming down I-95 cutting away all the dead twigs and such. Sounds like a good deal for the knees, but what about the back - that's an awkward bend, isn't it? You be careful and go slowly - don't overdo............I get my back feeling better - to have my ankles act up - then the knees - and so on and so forth. Always a guess each day what's going to hurt. That is so cute about winning 7,000 play money for your mom. Had to chuckle - once a mom always a mom - don't lose her money...........
Positives for the day.......Staying POP..........getting some cleaning done - some cooking done - and in the freezer for next week. That helps so much - just grabbing a portion and nuking it. It's gray and overcast here in Ohio - cold too..............so going to stay in - stay warm - maybe clean out a closet or two..........Everyone take care - be kind to yourself - love your family.
glad to hear that everyone is doing so well as am I...
3 Days POP and so far today is going excellent..I am having stuffed cabbage today that one of the girls I work with made and brought in for everybody and this morning was an scrambled egg sandwich on 35 cal whole grain bread with a green apple so today is going great and then tonight I plan on going home and doing my step aerobics workout and then having some pierogi's and veggies.
Well, gotta run for now I will check in later hope you are all having a great day
Heather
Well top of the afternoon to ya!!!! No I am not Irish, but somedays I can be whoever or whatever I want to be. Don't you just love it.
Learn,
I was so happy to hear of your visit with momma. They are keeping her busy and omgoodness I was thrilled to her that your sister went with you. Now I had to laugh about don't yoy lose her money. 7,000 was a big win even if it was play money, now go out back, dig a hole, and bury it in the ground until auction time!!! Dod you like your garden hopper, I was thinking of getting on last year, cause I sure do miss planting my peppers and herbs.
CJ,
you just made my day. I have been keeping up with your photography and I love it. How nice to have your man with you for the winter down in the keys. Tell you how you like your yoga class. It's wonderful having someone, especially someone special doing things with you, makes it all the sweeter. Miss ya darling, but you are always in my heart.
Linda,
you made me laugh out loud. If I see or hear about Learn on her Garden Hopper flying down I95 I will pass out from laughter. I needed that, thank you!!! Now talk about restraint, someone from her school posted something about how good it was on Twitter and this sweet girl from my job saw it. Mind you she has been asking for one since I made them for our jobs bake sale. She immediately called and said no you didn't make banana pudding Nana. So guess what............I am making another one this evening but trust and believe it will not be until after I have had my WI. I pray I can withstand another one in my face. LOL LOL
Fantastic job on all of your positives, clean baby clean!!!
Heather,
what can I say, great job. You have got your head on right and the right positive attitude. Go baby go!!!!
Misty,
thank you, I love the pics this is way toooo cute!!! Look at her posing and all!!! A star is born!!!!
My positive for today about me is.........I am expecting good things this evening and even if I don't, I am happy....but I will, I will. Stayed home today, to give my leaky leg some attention, hey gotta take care of myself and ain't nobody gonna do it for me!!!! See, I am learning and growing up.
That is it for now doll babies.
Hugs and kisses to Dgram, Carol, Shia, Shannon, Maria, Fun, Nona,
S T E L L A!!!!, Inked, Ona, Tracy, Bo, Tex, Ashley and all you gals out there. I ain't got nothing but love ya babies!!!!!
As is leaving the building,
Remember to make every moment count,
Ags
Ags- Keeping a cooler head in a hot situation always feels good. I wish I had some banana pudding right now. I don't know how you stuck to only licking the spoon! That would have seriously tested will power to the limits. Good for you for withstanding temptation. Amen to taking time out for yourself!
I might pop in the recipe section and look for some seafood dishes. I freak out about cooking stuff in general that I'm not familiar with. Like pork.. I won't cook pork. I'm terrified to under cook it and get trichinosis. Raw meat, with the exception of beef, squicks me out something fierce for similar reasons. I know, I'm totally weird. I don't really like leftovers either because I can't tell when stuff has gone bad. If it's been in the fridge for more than 24 hours it just grosses me out. I freak out about bread going moldy, especially when we used to get blueberry bagels because for some reason they look kind of green to begin with. I can't smell the difference between good milk and bad milk... it all smells pretty bad to me. Bad lunch meat is the same. I can ask my husband to check it out, but then I don't totally trust his whiffer there either. See, I'm a total food freak and here I am letting my freak flag fly.
Misty- I hope everything works out with your mom. I hate waiting rooms in general. They always have such horrid seating considering that you usually spend so much time in them! Is it really so bad to give them a little cushion and maybe not be made out of super thin plastic? Sorry I just derailed there... oops. At least you had a project to work on while you wait. You should post pics when it's done! OMG your puppy is so adorable! I love the little shoes! How do they stay on though? If I tried to stick booties on any animal I have ever had they'd just shake them off. I did get a tutu on Emily once when she was a kitten though.
Also, if you'd like I can try to overnight some of our snow. We have had about 75 inches of snow this year. We actually just broke into the top ten snowiest winters ever for the Boston-Metro area. It was packed solid up the windows on the side of our house. There's a plaza of stores north of Boston where they had to put the snow around this massive 40ft light post. The snow goes all the way up to the bulb and they're calling it Mt. Loop. It's not as bad as the blizzard of '78 and the rest of that winter (at least from what I hear, that was a little before my time) but it has still been pretty nasty out there.
Learn- My kitty doesn't so much purr as oink. Seriously, it's tiny little oinking noises. Its precious...she's precious. I love my little fur babies. I can't imagine having to use an ac in February. My grandparents used to live in Palm Bay near Melbourne and one year we drove down to visit them during April vacation and it was pretty bad. We went to the beach a few times to cool off but other than that I was dying. We came home to 40 degree temps and it was much better for me. I can go outside in -20 wind chills without a jacket and shovel but once it's over 85 or so I'm a mess. We really only use the ac's around here from June to early September. I'm glad you were about to get your yard work done. I hope your mom gets some great stuff with her $7000! I love music so that sounds like a fabulous day to me!
Linda- I read that 3 times over and every time thought it said "I ran all over the country" and keep thinking of you as a real life Carmen Sandiego! You know, I wouldn't be surprised in the least about the fast food places having somehow bottled that smell and here's why. I went to a steak house once, one of the nationwide chain places, and it smelled HORRIBLE. About 2 minutes into our wait for a table I was so turned off that I was begging to leave. It smelled like I imagine dead animals and wet moldy leaves would smell like with no pleasant pine foresty goodness anywhere to be found. My mom was hellbent on eating there though but asked the hosted what the deal was with the smell. She said that the restaurant was made to look like a hunting lodge and they took it a step further and used this aerosol spray that smelled like wild game to "increase the atmosphere." I proceeded to tell her they went a little overboard. I don't really like red meat and the whole situation bothered me. The smell went away a bit once we were there for a little while, overcome by the smell of food. At least my chicken tasted great.
Susan- I used to manage an Avenue for a few years and they'd go coupon crazy there. If anything, I tried to help people out buy splitting up orders so they could use more (which we weren't supposed to do), or hook them up with friends and family only promos (that were for 30% off your entire purchase). I don't like when cashiers get all grouchy over coupons, or checks, or heaven forbid getting exact change, so I never was that way with customers. I think when you work in retail you go one of two ways: either you embrace it and try to be a better customer to not anger your cashiers or you despise it and try to make everyone as miserable as you are while you are at work. My husband and I (who also used to be in retail management before he went back to college) feel that you are getting paid to do a job, make the company money while following their rules. Companies generally want to make money first and foremost, but they do that by *making the customer happy*. Most people forget that last part until they're on the other side of the fence. Having mean customers is also no excuse. You kind of just have to 'smile and nod' (thinking of trademarking that technique) and remember it isn't personal. Again, I derailed. I'm sorry. Just a pet peeve of mine... bad customer service. So back on track... YOU USE THOSE COUPONS GIRL! I'm glad your local store is cool about it, but they all should be!
:gets off soapbox:
CJZ- Congrats on maintaining. I think sometimes that's actually the hard part, Finding the right balance to keep going forward.
My positives...
Sadly, yesterday I didn't really feel up to getting out of bed. Stomach flu or something. I just tried to drink as much water as possible to replace lost fluid and then I had some soup for dinner. The good news is that staying in bad gave me a lot of time to work on my afghan and I got a big chunk of the panel I'm on done. I should have it finished in an hour or two tonight. Three done, Sixty to go... and a border... and a backing....
Today I hung out with my hubby. We played some WoW for an hour or so, played with the kitties. I woke up still feeling a little ill so I'm taking it easy. I've been slacking on exercise big time lately. I'm lazy by nature and really have to push myself to do a workout but lately I've been so beat. I hardly have energy enough to wake up some days! I need some so sort of motivation to do it besides the obvious perks it gives. I used to do this all the time. Say we had relatives coming to visit for a week and I wanted to give the whole house a good scrub. My husband would go get some food, say fruit roll ups or something equally bad for me. He'd hide them and only give me one if I completed everything on my list of to-dos. Usually that list was impossibly long, but I'd get it done. I can't, or rather, won't do that anymore. We chatted today and came up with a plan, so today this is my positive. For every 30 minute workout I do, I get $1 (virtually, I'll just get a lump sum later) with a weekly cap of $4. We put a cap on there so I don't push myself to far which is what I used to do. When I hit goal, he'll pull the money out of our savings and I get a new wardrobe! I mean, I'll get new clothes anyway... but I'm talking wardrobe here.
I think it's a far more fitting reward (no pun intended) than a lousy fruit roll up! Also, I'm going to get my clothes together that no longer fit (remember I used to manage a plus size clothing store with a big discount) and since there's so much of it, I'm going to probably give it to the goodwill. Perhaps the Salvation Army. My sister's former MIL and FIL are Majors in the Salvation Army so they could get it to folks who could use it. I'm keeping my sweaters though! I love big fuzzy sweaters and I have a ton of them. This should clear out some closet space for newer stuff. Goal here I come!
Text wall again. Sorry guys. Since I've barely been able to stay on topic and I've really put out there how strange I can be, I'm off to finish stitching that panel and probably grid the fabric for the next one. I hope you all have a wonderful night and a fabulous day tomorrow in case I don't pop in. I seem to have an every other day thing going on here. I hope this post makes someone chuckle because I'm laughing my butt off over here.
Ladies I am back and the verdict is in....................DrumRoll please...............I have released another 1.8 pounds which is a hair over SEVEN pounds for the last two weeks. I am super excited and supercharged!!!!
Next positive.........third banana pudding down and out the door!!!!!! Only another spoon lickin" and I am so proud of myself, my buttons are popping off my shirt!!!!!
J,
you are one funny lady. Wish I lived next door so I could shop thru your clothes before you give them all away. I love big warm fuzzy sweaters. Just to let you, there is also a monthly chat thread, you should tell them some of your stuff too, they would love it. I have been posting there myself a bit and they love new comers too. Some of them post here too. You crack me up, can't wait to see what you've got for me tomorrow.
Well gotta go change my ticker<
See you later gators,
Hugs love and blessings and remember to make every moment count,
Ags
@cakegirl WoW FTW! Just got off WoW, leveled her to 84... Mistycrow the Death Knight has leveled again! WOOT WOOT! Only took forEVER. What do you play and what server? Moonrunner for me.
@Ags I so want to make cookies but I'm afraid I'd eat the dough before they reach the oven. lol Way to go!
Today started OP then I gave in to ice cream... Schwan's came and we ordered ice cream and I was gonna have some tomorrow, make room in the calorie thing for it, but I couldn't hold back and I ate ice cream and stuff after i had already reached the calorie mark for the day... I'm so bad. Oh well...
Positive is people can stop bugging me to level my DK... I got her to 84 now there's no more reasons to bug me. :P
Good Morning, good morning, we talked the whole night through. Good morning, good morning to you! (Now picture Debbie Reynolds, Gene Kelly and Donald O'Connor singing this together from "Singing In The Rain."
CJ- How nice to have your fiance down south with you. Does he like the Keys?
Linda- The Garden Hopper is just the right height plus I have extra long handled pruning shears so I don't have to reach down as far.
Well did you get those closets cleaned out? Wanna do mine also? LOL!!!
Heather- Yum Yum, stuffed cabbage. Love cabbage of any kind. Hope you enjoyed it.
Misty- I have just one thing to say about Molly Bunny. AWWWWW! Thank you for sharing, she's adogable.
Ags- CONGRATULATIONS!!! 1.8 pounders gone, gone, gone!!!
I do love my Garden Hopper. I had to get something because trying to get anyone else to trim those dead plants down was like talking to a brick wall. HELLO WALL!
I hope you rested that leg and were able to avoid anymore interruptions.
J - I hope your feeling better. I like you and your hubby's idea of putting some money aside for when you reach goal. So you have an oinking kitty, how cute. I have 2 indoor kitties, one of which can purr (quite loudly), but she doesn't meow. Never has since I adopted her 8 years ago. She opens her mouth, but nothing ever comes out. My other kitty makes up for though, he's a talker. I adopted him over 10 years ago. Both kitties came from abusive situations, but they're livin' the good life now.
As for I wish I was little ol' me, I stayed POP yesterday. Got some of my frost bitten plants cut back and I'm gonna try to get more done today. Have to make a Walmart and a Sam's run this morning after I drop my Golden Child off at school. He's excited because today they are walking next door to the high school for a visit, so they can see where they will be next school year. Next wednesday is Curriculum Night for students and parents. I'm so excited because I haven't been in that high school since I graduated in 1978. OMG!!! That made me feel so flippin' old!!! It's been 33 years since I graduated.
Well I'm calling it! I hope everyone has a fantastic friday.
CJ- How nice to have your fiance down south with you. Does he like the Keys? Learn
Hi Learn! He loves the Keys. He cannot believe how many people he has met here in the past few weeks, it is so much easier to meet people here than most other places. I think because Key West is a small town with lots of visitors, so people are just naturally more open. He's been here many times, but this will be the longest period of time, so it is somewhat of a change. So far so good.

CJ- That is one place in FL I haven't been and would like to visit someday soon. Maybe hubby and I should plan a run that way and meet up with you. The farthest I've been is Naranja when I was a K-Mart photographer.
Well 4 Days POP yesterday even though we ended up going to Wendy's for dinner I stuck with the spicy chipotle boneless wings and instead of fries I got a garden side salad and even though the wings ended up being 500 calories ( yikes!) I still ended the day at 1500 calories and that included a serving of Ruffles light potato chips for 80 cals that I had later in the evening after I went home and worked out for 30 minutes and burned 340 calories.
I am looking forward to my weigh-in on saturday and I can visibly see my stomach shrinking when I look in the mirror naked (TMI sorry) so I would really love to be in the 270's on sunday when I weigh in.
Well, gotta run I am at work and getting ready to start just wanted to hope in and say HI
Ags....Congrats on the 1.8 lb loss that is terrific!
