Default 300+ Weekly Thread #1207

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support, inspiration, and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone (roosters as well as chicks!) to join us in our journey. We share laughter and tears, heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations. We also share what works for us and what doesn't.

We know the thread can move very quickly, and that people often make "personal" remarks and keep a number of conversations going. Please feel free to contribute even if you can't make personal comments all the time.

Finally, we also have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, Photos, Exercise, Info for Getting Started and more. Many of these threads are stickied at the top of the page. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group... we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for the Amazon "store" in the upper right hand corner of the screen on the PURPLE tool bar. A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!

Morning! If I made any mistakes posting the new threads this morning I'll blame it on my headache. It's a raw rainy day here, and my coffee hasn't kicked in yet!

Carol – I sat on that ball for an hour last night rolling around and bouncing! I have to do the structured workout dvd to learn more I just googled the basics. I do watch a fair amount of tv in the evenings after the kids go to bed and dh is out in the truck working. I would love some company! Also got a new pedometer to help make sure iI get in my 10 000 steps! I am going to need to get out some charts to start documenting my SLOW progress!

Annie l Love the new profile! I agree with Sharon heehee! I cant wait to swing in a hammock and not worry about it collapsing. No bike riding for us today as we now have the rain!

Angie – Great work on getting under 300! That is wonderful news. I cant seem to get down there again!

Catherine –Glad you enjoyed the convention. Grab a few naps!

Vicki – Glad things are going smoothly on the restaurant front. I know I have the same feeling about long term comments. I was told when I was 10 ish that I should never look at a singing career! I am tone deaf! So little to say I only sing at church where there are LOTS of voices to drown me out.

Sending dd off to school today as she is no longer suffering from chicken pox and her classmates wont get infected. Now ds#2 is saying he is not well enough to go to school. I see the optometrist today. I have been doing well on the exercise front, making healthy food choices. But I think I need to get back in the habit of measuring portions. I should go get a new food scale. I am still bouncing up and down every week on weigh in. I am not even sure I am on a overall downward direction! Maybe I should change my weigh in day as Friday. Since the weekends tend to be heavier in exercise and more food. Not bad food just less portion control.

Have a fantastic Monday everyone! Trying to remember that April showersbring May flowers.

morning ladies..

Annie: LOVE that new avitar!

Catherine: I will get some yogurt today.

Realist: Congrats for being under 300!!!

Julia: Sorry about the rain. Wish some of it was here. Suppose to be 100 today!

As for me: I go back to work today. I know it is not going to be fun. I might ask for the rest of the week off, will have to see how today goes. They are real funny about giving you alot of days off in a row. Even though I have over 100 hours. geez.

Ooooh Annie you sex kitten!!!!! LOVE the new avatar!!! So glad you're enjoying bike riding together. Wish I could ride, do you know if you can buy adult trainer/stabiliser wheels???lolxxxxxxx
Got woken up late last night & early this morning, my other little boy has been sick & had 'accidents', I'm worn out. I might catch a nap on the settee. TOM has come again! only a week after last one finished, this menopause, or peri-menopause is driving me nuts! My poor family are getting fed up with my moods & I'm struggling with food, really good for a few days then upset & eating cr*p.
Dolfin, how long now before you can open up & get customers? Wish I was closer, I'd come try some of you food. Do you have any menu ideas or special signature dishes?xxxxxx
Well I'm off for a lie down, (settee) poor hubby is in bed after doing 12 hour shifts with an hour's driving each way, he'll be doing this for the next 3 weeks, all week!! It's crazy, they were laying off a few weeks ago, it looks like there might be a light at the end of the tunnel (financial/work).
xxxxsharon
ps Zelma any news yet?xxxxx

Good Morning all,

Thanks for the sweet comments on my avatar pic. lol. I have to say that I love, love my hammock!

Sharon: I would really look into it about the training wheels for adults. They do have big trike type bikes though I know that for sure or a recumbant bike with 3 wheels. Sorry that your other son is sick now. I hope you are able to get a nap really soon.

Heather: Hope your headache goes away quickly. I am not a coffee drinker especially now that I've had surgery but even before that so I never got those caffeine headaches but Joel gets them if he doesn't get enough coffee. I don't envy you guys. I hope you are having a fantastic day.

Julia: I love my ball. I sometimes sit on it when I watch tv just to be sitting on it and moving my body. I really want to get a huge trampoline for the back yard. I have been looking on Craig's list and we have found a few of them for under $100 but by the time we get through to them it is usually sold. lol. I think it would be fun to bounce.

Cyn: I hope you feel better soon and your company doesn't frown on you needing to come home if you do. Hugs.

It is such a pretty sunny day here today. I am going to get back on the wii fit today after a loooong break from it. I have plans to vacuum my house and do my inside exercises then get out to the garage and work out there a bit. It is a mess and I want to go through a bunch of boxes to prepare for a yard sale that Joel wants to have and also to see what I can pack away in the garage. One of Joel's sisters is moving in with us in July for a year!!! I need to make room in our spare bedroom and get everything out of there that isn't necessary so she can have the space.

Today is my Dr. appt. with the plastic surgeon. I will be talking to him about my tummy/lower body lift and boobs. I may mention my arms and thighs just because I'm there at the time. Tonight is weight lifting night too. I am back on track and need to post like 2 months worth of exercise that I have been keeping track of but not posting here. Silly me.

Okay all, I hope your day is sunny and warm and fantastic.

Blessings,
Annie

Oops, Julia,

I wanted to mention to you. That same hammock is the one that when I weighed 510 pounds I would get on it every single day multiple times and swing away. It is a tough one to be sure but I think most hammocks are tough! Think about not waiting for one if you have the space for it and you like them, get yourself one.

Blessings,
Annie

Hi All,

I want to thank everyone for making me feel better when I posted in another thread about how unhappy I was with my appearance. It was really motivational to see how I truly looked. At the same time, I know that self-hate will just sabotage my efforts so I am trying to build up my self-esteem independent of what I weigh.
I have started eating 5-6 mini meals a day and have great results so far. Is anyone else doing this? Sometimes though, I crave that old feeling of eating a big meal for emotional comfort.
I have a doc's appt later this week and am dreading the weigh-in especially since I am up 15 pounds from last year which was a difficult one full of stress eating. My doctor is one of those who believes that attitude is everything. I agree with that to a point but I also thing he needs to recognize binge eating as a disorder too.
I wanted to post on this thread because I think that y'all are awesome and the thread is a great source of support. I want to change my avatar to pic of myself but I have not allowed any current photos of myself to be taken in a few years. I really should take one as an important step in accepting myself.

Thanks everyone,
Pennie

I'm so depressed. My Dr. appt. went well but my insurance will not cover the surgery I need. Oh well. I need to move on and just continue to try to get to my goal weight then worry about skin removal etc. I have done sooo well today on the diet and exercise front. I just got finished lifting weights with Joel. I didn't want to but am glad that I did. I like how my muscles feel spent. lol.

I am gonig to call Voc Rehab tomorrow and see if I can get in to see her to make a plan for school while I'm off work. I am going to start looking for work a bit harder now though.

Blessings all,
Annie

Annie-Sorry about the doctor. Your picture looks like something from a catalog. Maybe you could get some modeling work.

I'm going to the pool tomorrow, so that always brightens my day. I had paperwork to do today. Always thrilling.

Hi everyone!

Sorry I've been MIA for a week! I let pressure and stress get the better of me. When that happens, I start to drop the ball -- or balls. It's like I have too much to juggle, so I just let. things. go. *sigh* I just wanted to check in quickly tonight so that I didn't lose one more day. Each day makes it harder to get back, doesn't it?

Anyway, see you all tomorrow! I hope you're doing Fabulously!

Annie, any chance your insurance would come through if your doctor argued for medical necessity? I hear my insurer (Kaiser) will do the tummy surgery with those who've lost weight if there is a problem with chaffing and sores. Just a thought.

btw, you look Mahvelous!
