That's too funny!! LOL! I live with spandexed-out BikerGuy! I'm not exactly at the point where I can put the spandex on, but hope to be someday soon. I'd love to go mountain biking with the man in the near future as it's one of his favorite things to do and he would love to share that with me. Just another goal I've set for myself.

p.s. don't let those squirrels sneak up on you!

Yesterday was interesting to say the least. Right after posting, I opened the curtain to get some sun to improve my mood, and I saw police tape everywhere, and simultaneously we had a knock at the door, and it was the police. Someone was murdered in our backyard last night. Our unit is in the back facing the alley on the ground floor. Our patio overlooks 5 parking spots, then the alley, and then the garage of the house behind us. An elderly woman had just moved into that house the day before, and was called in dead at 6am.

They are not calling it a homicide officially until the autopsy is done, but are calling it suspicious. There were guys in those white CSI coveralls all over the place. The police questioned us pretty hard. Wanted to know if we had scars or tattoos, took our driver's licenses, and even wanted to know our shoe sizes. That was kind of funny because himself says he wears 11's. I told them he wore 13's. The cop by the door leans over and picks up one of his shoes, and looks at the tag, and says she's right and starts laughing. I told them that he may wear them, but I buy them.

When one of the CSI techs was taking a foot print casting by our bedroom window, I was able to get him to tell me that it looked like whoever did it walked this way around our building. We had been pretty dry and just got some rain, so the ground was perfect for prints. I know from experience that if it is a shooting or stabbing, they can call it a murder immediately. If it is a strangulation or blow to the head kind of thing, they have to wait for the autopsy. I think they were looking for a weapon, or maybe found one.

It doesn't take much to make my husband paranoid with his illness, so the whole thing was pretty hard on the both of us. I must say, in the scheme of things, I much prefer being the interrogator rather than the interrogated. It looks like it was someone living in the house that did it. They took him into custody as soon as the body was discovered, and were just eliminating us. It is so strange to see your home on the TV news, and see reporters interviewing neighbors. I'm just glad I wasn't here by myself when the police came.

Default Good Morning Everyone!

Hi there Nor Cal Jen!! Somethin' tells me we just might have something in common...
I am having such a hard time making time for myself! I totally know better, but starting work at 6:30am, then picking up kids, homework, dinner, throw a load of clothes in, and before I know it BAM! It's 8:00 and once again I didn't get my walk or workout in. Anyone have any suggestions on making me time? And don't even get me started on making the 2 dinner thing!! I'm going to make a point to flee my house today, at some point and get my cardio on!!

OMG.. there are 2 NorthCal Jenns! Welcome to the other one too hehe. I didn't say second, cuz you both are number one, right?? We gotta distinguish between da 2 of ya though. Gimme something to work with, ok? Hint: must be different or I'll think you were conjoined and separated at birth.

Catherine, wow.. scary stuff! I'm glad Himself wasn't alone at the time or you weren't when the knock came through. I hope Himself is ok. Perhaps some window shopping therapy is in order? I would suggest the pool, but Himself is suspicious of the poolboy already.

Hugs to all,
Ratkity

I'm fine with Jenny as that's what I usually go by and Jennlovesnorcal can stay "Jenn". How's that? Being a born 'Jennifer' I'm used to being in situations where there are multiples of us. "Who is going to be Jennifer, Jenny or Jen?" my teachers would say. HAHAHA.

Welcome other Nor Cal Jen! Where abouts are you?

Just checking in! 15 days until the end of the semester, and it's rough! Hence why I'm not around as much. Come May 8th, expect me in here more frequently again.

Finally, the chance to spend some time with y'all! I've been working a bunch and trying to keep on top of house and husband and volunteer obligations, and I'm ready to say "Enough! I need a little me time!" So I took some and came online this morning to post. yay. ... I also lost 2 lbs in the past few 2 weeks. I'll take it

Jacquie, I know exactly what you mean about planning and the results of not eating right during the day. My biggest battle is night eating after a busy day of skipping decent meals. Good luck with making fresh, vegan choices and getting your apartment ship-shape!

Annie, congrats on your tracker weight. I can’t wait to be where you are.

Debbie, good luck with your Avon business! My sister in law is a rep and loves it.

Catherine, yikes! I can’t imagine going through a csi experience like you did – and being so close to such tragedy. I wanted to say, too, my heart goes out to your trainer friend. My husband lost his first wife to cancer at 30. I hope the medical cure of our lifetime is the cure for that terrible disease.

Sharon, congrats on those 18’s and on feeling better!

Torister, wtg on 51 pounds! I have a similar experience … 306 to 235 to 320 to 305 (at present). We may fall down 100 times, but what matters is that we stand up 101.

DC, your beach weekend sounds like a great tradition.

Jenny, wah-hoo! Congrats on 10 pounds! We must be in the same neck of the woods. After days-o-heat, it’s beautiful and breezy here today!

Jenn, welcome! Love the bunny graphic – a sense of humor and a hopeful soul are two qualities to cherish in yourself.

Cyn, omg, I hope all is well. From what you’ve been saying recently, I can’t help think you need new, better medical support. I am here now because my doctor paid attention my diverticulitis symptoms and fought the insurance company that said “She’s 37 – she just has the flu.” … Several scans, several specialists, 2 weeks in the hospital with a 106 degree fever, peritonitis and 2 surgeries later, I absolutely know I owe my life to Dr. Cambier.

Penny, I do believe in food addiction … and genetics AND socialization. I got here via so Many roads. My family has been large for generations – genetics. EVERY special event in our society is celebrated with food – socialization. I Crave sugary treats when something negative happens in order to comfort myself – addiction. Lots of causes with one main remedy – a kick-bum support group. You can do this!

Zelma, my prayers are with you and your brother.

Angie, a pity party needs good friends – count us in! I hope your job works out.

Ratkitten, the Russian River runs alongside our town – your goldens would love it! Come on over!

Kayley, good luck with finals and reaching the finish line!

I sooo relate! There were 5 Jennifer's in my 6th grade class! I'm by TAFB and couldn't be happier that the weather has changed. 90's in April is just all wrong!! My flowers are doing the wig out, but I wouldn't mind a little more Spring before Summer comes to kick some butt! You in my neck of the woods, Jenny?

Ya know, Ratkity, I'm a firm believer in cosmic twins, so I would not EVEN be suprised if Jenny has 2 pugs and loves Starbucks and sushi!

Thanks for the welcome shimmers! I'd love any suggestions on carving out that all important me time!

Jenn

Okay, both Jens, Jennifers: Welcome to you both. I will catch on soon I hope as to which Jen from No Cal is which. lol. I used to live in CA, born and raised on the Central Coast, San Luis Obisbo County. I still have in laws there and my dear sweet niece in San Luis. I then moved to Northern CA, Folsom near Sacramento area for 15 years before moving to Idaho. I loved the sunny weather and miss it dearly lots. I do love Northern Idaho too. I get to visit one of my sisters and her family in Cypress, by Aneheim area once in a while and float around their pool. Well, blah blah blah lol. I just wanted to say welcome and I can't wait to be on this journey with you both!

Cyn: How are you sweetie? I will be praying for you. Hang in there and hugs to you.

Jacquie: Ooo. I love to organize! lol. I truly do. I did my laundry room today with special attention to my pantry. I will be doing one closet at a time soon to prepare for one of my sister in laws moving in with us in July. Have fun organizing.

Pennie: I think that I was definately a food addict. I don't think I am so much now. I think being on a liquid diet for soooooo long, 6 months, kind of took that out of me and I pretty much look to food for fuel. I do have the occasional eating of things that are not good for me but I hear ya definately on being addicted. I had 2 brothers, both passed away now, but they were both addicted to drugs, one to heiroine and the other prescription drugs. I saw some of the same things in their personalities as I saw in myself when I was at 510 pounds and out of control eating. Hang in there and know that you may always suffer from it but... you can get it under control. Hugs.

DC: Hi there.

Heather: Can I post all of my past exercise minutes that I didn't post at the end of this month? I mean, I have some minutes to post from February but I don't want to mess up your system or anything?

Zelma: Prayers continue for Daryl. It sounds like your family is gathering together and being very supportive to him and his family. Hugs.

Angie: So sorry that you had such a bad day. Hugs.

Rat: Please kidnap me... okay wait until it is a little warmer. Since I lost more than half of my former self I'm a wienie in the cold. lol. Sorry that you are having blues. Hugs, hugs, hugs.

Catherine: Thank God you and Himself are okay. I'm so sorry about your neighbor. Hugs.

Kayley: You are missed when you are not around but, school does come first. Good luck with the rest of the semester.

Shimmers: Woooooo hoooo on your -2 pounds!!! Way to go sweetie.

Debbie, Debi and Carol: Hi there.

Hi to all the other MIA chickies.

I had a grocery shopping/ and cleaning some of the house day today. It was a good day. I also had a job interview this morning but he told me at $10 I wanted too much money, well, more than he wants to pay. So, the search continues.

Blessings all,
Annie

I DON'T live in S or N Cal, lol!!!!! But being here makes such a difference, support & advice from people who KNOW what it feels like to dread flight, public toilet cubicles & changing rooms!!!
Welcome to Jen & Jenny hey maybe you can meet up for a COLD drink sometime?
Cyn, SO SORRY about the infection, I have no idea what it is or how you get it, but it sounds terrible. Please take care of yourself & get some good multi vitamins down you (just in case you're run down) or a 'tonic' from the pharmacy (I'm sure they can reccomend a good one which won't intefere with yourr meds).xxxxxxx
Catherine WOW, it must be scary having those guys around as well as being a bit exciting. Stay safe & hope the sun shines for you very soon.xxxx
Annie, hugsxxx hope you get some good news on the job front soon.xxxxx
Well I lost 6lbs today & my new jeans are hanging down, I keep having to hoist them up!!!lol Still wearing 18, 20 & 22's in various tops & jeans, how annoying!!!!! Why do sizes vary so much, even from the same supplier?
I helped in secondary school yesterday (age 11-16/18) & really enjoyed it, English, technology (circuit boards) R.E, special needs English & music. I'm hoping to be a classroom assistant in the near (1year or so) future, I decided against becoming a teacher for that age, lol, too many mouthy/awkward/stroppy teenagers! I'm being kept in these classes to get to know the students (and TAs who I 'shadow').
Anyway I have to go walk to the shops & market.
xxxxxsharo
ps Zelma I hope your brother fights this & if he's getting all this love & support it must really help him do it.xxxxxxx

Good Morning Peeps - how is everyone??? It is going to be a beautiful day here and I have many plans for it after our labradoodle Gypsy goes from looking like a gypsy with her long locks to more like a lab with Grouch Marx eyebrows. I plan to mow and get beds ready for planting after errands. OK - my biggest errand today is to pick up my packet for my very first public 4 mile walk on Sunday. This was one of my goals for 2009 was to step out of my comfort zone and do 3 "public" walks. Hey - I even get to meet up with a fellow 3FCer - I'm excited.

Happy Friday!

Hugs,
Carol

Annie -- As long as you've been tracking the minutes, you can record them. I don't care so much that each month is right, so if you want to add a LOT of minutes to April, I'm fine with that!

Hi everyone! I am finally back to being able to post!! I disappeared for about 2 months because I started a new job working midnights full time and have had a hard time getting a routine.. Good news is I have still continued to lose weight though! I finally broke the 400's last week. Started in mid Nov. at 467lbs and am now at 397 and still going. I can not believe the difference I feel already and can not wait to see how I feel after another 70lbs. I just joined our local YMCA last week and started doing water aerobics and walking the treadmill. I have a session this morning with a personal trainer who is going to show me how the rest of the machines work also. I am pretty excited! So that it what is going on here and I hope you all don't mind me just jumping in to the chat!
