Debi-I can't wait to be preparing for a wedding!! still have to wait a couple of years....even though they are engaged....they are waiting till college is over....wise move but I want me some GRANDBABIES!!! LOL
For all the NEWBIES......WELCOME!!!! I have been in a funk lately and not wanting to admit I am unmotivated! But these chickies here HELP me so much!!! they are just simply awesome!!!
STILL hovering in the 270's but I've increase my water intake once again and been cautious of what I'm eating as snacks during the day in the classroom.........its so easy to share a bag of chips with one of my kiddos or eat a cookie along side them.........they are always eating....since food is a GREAT motivator for Special needs kids that find nothing else to motivate them LOL been eating breakfast each day which I had slacked off on.....Now to kick up the exercise......I've started refilling my jug of water down the hall at the water fountain so I wake down there and back 4 or 5 times a day....extra walking I don't normally do......and I'm really trying to figure out a way for me to jump on the aliptical in the teacher's workroom sometime during the day........I just dont want people to be in there while I'm doing it! LOL So I think at first I might go early and jump on it for a couple of mins before work.........this way while I'm getting use to it I know I will only be physically able to do a couple of mins.....thus not to sweaty before work.....and then after I get use to it.......I have to stay after school to get my daughter 30 mins after my school lets out.....so I could do some longer times then.......ok so this is my plan for next week to at least jump on it in the morning for 5 mins!!!! PLEASE check with me to see if I followed up on that!
hope everyone's bodys get back to normal real quick for those of you who are in pain!
I made an appt for a new doctor...........I have NOT been to a doctor in 3 yrs....other than the ER on the military base for a migraine of UTI ...........I need to get my vericose veins checked out and some other little minor ailments that have been bothering me .....but for the most part I want to talk to her about my weight loss.....I highly doubt that I will be a good candidate for weight loss surgery because I've had MRSA and was told that if I have anything "foreign" put in me that the MRSA could resurface.....but I still want to see if I have any options.....or if she thinks my plan is ok or maybe she could help me get something better going.
In 22 years DH has never gone shopping for clothes with me - until today. I am in a funny phase where I don't realize my clothes are too big for me. I need jeans that fit (so I'm told) - so off we went. I must have tried on 50 pairs - we walked out of Kohls with an attachment for the mixer - no jeans. I suspect it will be another 22 years before he goes again.
LOL gg! my DH has to drag me shopping for clothes most of the time.....he will also go and buy me outfits without me! He has never been wrong on sizes and he gets everything from pantyhose to jewelery LOL so I can't complain! I've always hated trying on clothes!
YIPPPEEE!!!!! I turned on my treadmill! AND NOT JUST TO CLEAN IT!!! I actually got on and exercised. First time since we moved here and who knows how long before that. It has probably been almost a year. 61.5 minutes to be exact! (had to finish the song on the IPOD)
Carol : LOL that was cute. I hate trying clothes on too. Fortunately as I lose its easier on the nerves. I just hate trying to squeeze into things and rolls showing up where they dont belong. I am going back to the clothing store that I used to work in part-time again to make extra $ to pay off some bills. Guess I will be buying more clothes again. 50% off is too good to let go to waste!
Good to read everyone's posts today. We spent the day in "town" spending money on important stuff like fiestaware salad bowls and (gasp) real shoes and socks for Toni! I also got a new jacket for winter since the one from last year is worn out and (yay!) too large. I had a good loss this week and our TOPS fall rally is this week. I am excited to go see everyone and have fun at one of the events. I haven't been in a couple of years. I started a weight loss blog if anyone is a blog reader, the link is in my signature.
Well WI today -2! That is exciting. I will have to actually try and get more exercising in this week. I was talking with FIL last night and he is so encouraging to me! He is working on weight as well. I think he would make a great trainer! I haven't told him that one yet. young daughter and I went on a 2 mile bike ride last night and it felt good. I was on the treadmill for 10min. I know nothing like I should be. But it wasn't working the other day so I had to make sure it was working again. I think it misses me! lol So FIL said he is going to be calling me ever so often to see how it is going. He said not to look at caller ID and see its him and tell hubby to get it cause its dad because he wants to talk to me!! I said OK. He is awesome. MIL not wanting to work on weight as she says FIL is so far ahead of her she would never catch up. He tells her it is not about that, but she doesn't see it any other way. So older daughter and I are going to work hard on it this week and see how we do. Hubby is on a hold and younger daughter is doing fine.
Carol-first Yeah on going clothes shopping, but yuck on coming home with mixer attachment. Better get some jeans if ya need them? Who told you that you needed them, hubby?
Toni-YEAH on the weight loss and getting a new jacket!! Go girl!
going to lose 200- yeah for turning on the treadmill, keep going!! proud of you!
DMPLS-cool that hubby buys you clothes and gets the right sizes! Way to go walking down the hall and filling water, keep it up! Eliptcal this week, I will try and check on you. Remember all of us sitting on your shoulders looking to see if you are doing it! hehe
Debbie-how is the jam going? Making alot?
Cyn-did you have a good evening at Aunts house?
Julia-What a weight loss, good for you! Keep drinking and exercise, looking good!!
dgramie-how is today?
jeniansmom-WI today, how did it go? Computer still working?
Rat-how's the knee doing today?
Catherine-I hope no knew aches today and you are feeling better!
Debi- Hello!!!!
Well, I better go get some walking in as that is what I told myself I was going to get up and do! UGH UGH UGH. Penny
Penny - yes it was his idea. My waist seems to be shrinking at a faster rate than the rest of me. I took my measurements for the first time since June yesterday - my waist was down 3 inches - which was more than other areas.
Hooray on the nice loss!
Toni - doesn't it feel great - a new jacket, socks and shoes and clipping toenails all in one week. It can be overwhelming - in a good way.
Bernice - he has said he will never buy me clothes - he tried early on to do that and always bought me a small - when i was probably a 1X. He just doesn't see my weight - bless his heart.
Annie - hi pal.
Rat and Catherine - how are you feeling?
Cyn - I'm so proud of you!
Debi - great loss! Keep on jumping - that mini-tramp seems to do wonders for you.
Brenda - what kind of store do you work at? Any tricks on finding jeans that fit my body type?
Jen - Hiya!
Julia - Wooohooo to you!!!
Debbie - how was the jam. I stick to vegetable canning - salsa, tomatoes, jalapenos, chow chow, etc. I have done jalapeno jelly but for me jellies are tricky.
Debi - sounds like you and your daughter had a great day! I'm glad it went well. Glad the calories were with you for the day too!
Debbie - I will have to read back through posts and bios and figure out what your jam is..I was envisioning you mixing music but I bet it has more to do with a yummy spread
Julia - awesome loss! Goes to reinforce that effort not perfection is the key.
Cyn - hope you had fun on the treadmill I've got to start getting acquainted with mine as I signed myself up for a Columbus Day 5k challenge in my start of new lifestyle sign me up for any challenge I see fervor lol Hope you had fun playing cards. That is our winter pastime with friends, and considering the nip in the air these mornings I imagine we'll start playing our usual Sat. night games again before too long.
Bernice - congrats on being more mindful of what you're eating and upping the water and making the decision to see a new Dr. I wish you the best and hope you find a great one for you!
Carol - awesome that DH went with you! Did you enjoy having him there? If you did and you let him know maybe it won't be another 22 years? My DH has always enjoyed shopping for clothes for me (with me), though I haven't allowed him to in recent years. I have developed somewhat of a shoe thing lately and I tried on a pair of heels I loved the other day and he insisted I buy them as he found them very appealing on me, hehe.
Brenda - that's terrific about the treadmill! I turned mine on for the first time in over a year a few weeks ago and managed 20 minutes. I am so impressed that you did over an hour!
Toni - yay for a new smaller winter coat! I threw out my winter coat a few months ago b/c it was really getting worn out plus I vowed it would be too big this year. I have an older one that isn't as worn out as it hasn't fit in years that I am going to try on. Congrats on the loss for the week!
Penny - Congrats on the loss! I think it is so great that you have someone so supportive and motivating to share your journey with! Have fun on the walk! I am going to do some tentative theraband work (I overdid it and had some upper back issues from it last week, so have been laying off) and as soon as DH gets out of bed, I'm going to have a date with the treadmill.
My weigh in today was awesome - 5lbs! I moved the scale to 3 different spots to make sure it wasn't a fluke. I'm hoping my lack of exercise and stressful days this week don't catch up with me next week. I do feel good that I handled the stress as well as I did from an eating perspective.
Happy Sunday one and all!
Jen

I had a good day yesterday with my son and dil. I think the babie will be coming really soon. She is starting to look miserable. We know that she wont go over because they are already talking about inducing her. I cooked a meal and ate a bit more than i should have and felt miserable last night. Im right back on track today and was even for dinner last night. Just not use to heavy meals anymore.
I typed up the address for wedding invites..fun fun
I spent the evening hulling pecans..i didnt dream it would stain my hands so bad..i tried everything to get it off..even soaking in straight bleach..i tried wd40 and dawn and oxyclean and cascade and comet and nail polish remover but a magic eraser and comet seemed to be best.LOL They are still stained but lighter now. I also have a clean tub and sinks because i kept trying different cleaners and then cleaned as i went.LOL
I got a few cute things at the thrift store yesterday but my best find was a fall jacket in oranges and brown and has leaves and stuff on it.Its really nice. I did get some large sweatshirts that actually fit good.
carol- hope you have an awesome day..how are the scales looking this week?
penny- way to go on the weight loss..i knew you could do it!! Its so nice to have family to encourage you. I have found the people i thought would encourage me the most are the ones who dont..and the ones i least expect it from are the most encouraging.
toni- isnt shopping fun!! I am so proud of you and your weight loss !!
dmpls- so nice to have you back on the wagon with us..I have really missed our talks!! Your cruise is getting really close!
Jen_ awesome weight loss! How has your glucose been doing? Hubbys is perfect lately..in fact he had to get up at 3 am the other day and check it because we had eaten an early dinner and he forgot to snack and it was only 54 so he had to eat in the middle of the night to raise it.
anne- hope your ok..listen to your body.
cyn_ hope you had fun playing cards..we use to play alot but havent in a long time.
julia- how long do you have off without kids?? i sure am looking foward to my fall break!! I may just get a granddaughter that week as well.
Carol: OMG!! That is way too funny! That little story made me smile..just don’t wait 22 years to get new jeans okay? Hehehe
Brenda: Glad ya did more then clean the treadmill…WTG!! :0)
Toni: I will keep your blog in my favs and visit often!!
As for me...well being that Saterday is really busy at the gym..I opted to skip it. So I just did some weight lifting at home. There are lots of classes on saterdays and if ya dont get to the YMCA early..you litterally get trampled by kids..lol
I had a blast at playing cards last night. Didn't do too bad on the snacking. I didn't win lol..we play this card game called Phase Ten. We love it!! Takes hours to play.
Today I am focusing on my grandmas Flowers Garden Quilt. I would like to get it done soon!! It is going to be hung over my bed...and that bare spot is annoying me lol. I will post pics when it is all done!!
Carol, you're a stronger woman than me. I would of given up after the 4th pair. Hang in there, you'll find some.
Bernice, what a lucky woman!! How sweet of him to do that.
Brenda, wow! What a discount. That would definitely be hard to pass up.
Great workout on the treadmill!!
Toni, I put it on my favorites. Thanks!
Penny, YAY on the 2lbs gone forever!!!
Jen, yes, lol, it's blackberry jam. We're surrounded by wild blackberry bushes. So this year I decided to go make good use of them and make jam for the first time. Although I was playing music at the same time, so I was REALLY JAMMIN'!!
Hey! Great news on the 5lbs gone!!
Cyn, I love Phase 10. It's so much fun! Even though you didn't get to the gym you still did something at home and that's all that counts. Good for you!
Well we got 9 jars of jam done and they all sealed. So today I'll open one and see how it turned out. Can't wait. If it does turn out well, Jim's going to get peaches and strawberries from work and I'll make more jam out of those. Then maybe a mixed berry. I want to make 4 different kinds because I want to send them as Christmas gifts for the family. I always try to send something homemade out.
Today is laundry (ugh) and cleaning but first I have to go to the store.
toodles
Debbie
dgramie-You are so correct about people who encourage. At least in my case. I would think that my husband would more. My FIL, youngest son, and sister are the best at encouragement. I know hubby tries sometimes but has so much going on right now!
Debbie-Yeah on all the jam!
Well, I didn't walk this morning it was so beautiful that I took a 2 mile bike ride. Yes, did not take long, but I decided I will do more later as young daughter will want to go.
Penny, I am jealous, I want a bike to ride. I am going to take a test drive on my daughters bike later to see if I can do it yet. I want a tractor seat though, full coverage for the buttocks.
I have had a busy weekend. I did go swim on Friday and it was glorious! I enjoyed my time so much. The whole time I was swimming I was thinking about how I will be able to do it every day once I get my aquafitness cert in November and someone hires me. lol.
Sorry no time for personals today. I am excited about school starting tomorrow. Excited and nervous.
Congrats to everyone who showed a realease or loss this past week and hugs to those who didn't, it will happen, hang in there. Hugs if you need it and big kick in the pants if you need that. I will hopefully have more time tomorrow.
Well, it's Sunday and I just got off the bike. Did an extra 5 minutes today...the last 3 were HARD but I can live with that. I started at 20 minutes this month and I want to work myself up to 30 minutes by October 1st. I'm thinking 25 minute workouts this week will get me ready for 30 minute workouts the following week.
Fourteen days into this journey, I'm ready to start working on my food. I've spent some time in the kitchen today - it feels good to be cooking ahead and planning than just grabbing fast food on the way to/from work. I've got beans in the crockpot, and I'm marinating some ground beef for various meals (thinking tacos, or pasta sauce). I am about to go tackle the chicken breasts - thinking of doing a dry rub and then grilling them. I need lots of protein and it's easiest to have that prepared on Sundays. Getting the carbs and veggies done is a piece of cake after that.
Bernice – Oh, I LOVE the elliptical machine. Then again, I’m a glutton for punishment. When I was at my fittest, I could only do 5 minutes on the darn machine at the gym and I am NO where near that right now. A few months ago I had a friend of mine give me a used Elliptical and a weight bench plus weights. The elliptical is not rated for my weight though (rating 250, cw about 360) so its sitting in storage. I only have space for ONE exercise machine in my apartment and that is the HealthRider bike I currently use. My dream is to get down to 250# so that I can start using the elliptical and put the bike in storage! :-> Have fun with the Elliptical at work.
Brenda – YAY on working out. Good for you!
ToniLight – I have subscribed to your journal. Looking forward to your next entry. Wohoo 74 lbs gone.
Penny – how exciting that you have your family involved!!! I'm sure your hubby will get there too!
Jen – 5 lbs down! Congrats. It’s a catch 22, isn’t it? Exercise helps with stress but when one is stressed, it’s harder to find the time to exercise! UGH. Best of luck this week with your workouts!!
A sparkley wave to everyone I missed.
OK, I'm off. May unpack some boxes this evening too!
Hope everyone has a good food, water AND exercise week! :-)
