Just a quick message, but will be back later for more.

Tonilight - I just looked at your before/current pics and the difference is AMAZING! You should definitely be smiling in your current pic!

Carol, Happy 1 Year anniversary on your journey! You've done so well and I'm sure you'll continue on.

Annie, so glad that Joel will be back on days. What a relief huh? Have fun at school. You're going to enjoy more than you can imagine right now.

Toni, that's great you won the little scale. How fun!

Ratkity, Cassie, stay safe!

Debi, congrats on losing those pesky pounds. You've come a long way!

Zelma, I like your hair. It's a very pretty color on you.

Today we went car shopping with my dad. He had gotten into an accident and he ended up with $2800 for his truck since it was totaled. It was a 1987 so he was lucky to get what he got. We found a 1999 Ford Explorer for $2100 out the door. It's fully loaded and the body is really nice on it and all. So it was a pretty good deal. Then we stopped at the casino. Dad gave us $15 to play with, his treat, and I ended up winning $80!!! We spent 20 of it back, but still I came way out ahead. It was fun! At one time I hit 3800 tokens for $38!!! I never have that kind of luck. Jim says it's cuz it knows it's my b-day coming up. LOL.
Off to go play a game.
toodles

I'm still here. I was down 2 this week...even with TOM..so I figure it was the adjustment from having food poisoning. I had my blood work done this week and had an appointment with the genetic counselor at Kaiser for a pre-pregnancy screening. There is a panel they run on Jewish couples since there are certain genetic disorders that have a higher likelihood of occurence in Jews of eastern european backgrounds. If I am not a carrier then DH does not even need to be tested. My blood work was ok. My cholesterol is too high as is my LDL, but my HDL, triglycerides, glucose, liver and kidney functions and thyroid were all perfectly fine...so it's back on the oatmeal for a while...at the very least.

So the tentative plan is for me to go off the pill in November and see what happens from there. Given how long I have been on the Pill I am not expecting anything to happen any time soon.

Work is getting crazy busy again and I am back in the swing of multiple late nights in a week.

I'm heading back to B'ham in January for my best friend's baby shower and I could not be more excited about it. I also remember today I have a GC for a massage that I reallllly need to take advantage of.

Glad to hear that so many people are doing well. I really need to stay more focused. I am such a slacker. I got the Gazelle from Luan and have not used it ONCE!! It sits behind the couch and I have no good explanation as to why. Argh.

Book recommendation: Bright Lights, Big A$$ by Jennifer Lancaster
it is the third of her memoirs but it is the one where she deals the nost with her weight struggles...and she is hysterical. Her first two books were also excellent...but the third really struck a few chords with me. It also made me wish I worked from home and had all the time she has in a day to work with a trainer and hit the gym...but I just need to figure out how badly I want what I think I want and figure out what I am really willing to do to achieve my goals.

carol_ wow a full year of living and eating right!! Im so proud of you!!

rat & cassie- have the storms passed yet?

annie_ how are you??

penny- are you back from camping yet?? did you have fun??

dmpls_ hope they get your internet fixed this week!! good job on the exercise...i noticed i cant do what i was doing before i slacked off . It will just take time to build back up!!

As for my dress I bought yesterday..well my spanxs are to big i guess. They do not hold me in now..they look awful with my dress...it fits great except becasue its thin you can see my tummy flap. You know the hanging part of the lower abdomen. I am so upset. Im going to try it on today with a few different undergarments. My spanxs were bought 67lbs ago..but i thought they would still work.. might be time to invest in another smaller pair.
hugs to all

Good morning, everyone, the sun is out and the day looks gorgeous! I seem to have some kind of bug so I feel a bit under the weather.

dgramie, congrats on getting down to the 30s and needing to buy smaller Spanx!

Julie, I was going to say congrats to you but...you had food poisoning? That's awful! Good luck with all the testing!

Dmpls, I know where Jackson is! That's not too far from where I live, considering everything out here is at least a half hour drive We live in a little town called Browns Mills, closest city would be Trenton (40 minutes away) and closest larger town is Mt. Holly (20 minutes away). We are out in the pinelands, lol. Glad you like my blog, I have to update it.

I was hoping to exercise a little bit but I'm thinking with the way I feel rest is the way to go. Hope everyone has a nice, relaxing Sunday!

morning all...

Julee: glad to see that you are back. Good luck on the PG thing..how exciting!

Cassie: I love you blog..I just created one but not sure how to get pics up yet. I am sure I will figure it out. I have a myspace that took me forever to get going but now I am a wiz at it.

Blissfull: Welcome to the group!!! Warning yuor gonna love this place and all the people in it!

As for me...I had an okay day yesterday..until...I had to go over to my grandpas "gf" house. As most of ya know my grandpa passed away in January..and my Grandma the Feb before that. And they raised me soo its been very very hard. I went over there to pick up some more pics she had gone through for me. My youngest son went...everytime he would see my eyes swell up..he would change the subject and get me and mary back on track. He is an amazing 14 year old.hehe But being in that house with all his stuff and pics was very hard for me. She asked that I not be a stranger...guess I shouldn't. I can only imagine how lonley she is having no one to share her life with. ( being alone is my greatest fear) It is a long story..but I feel awkward being around her...(this was one of my grandpas many affairs) BUT I think my grandma and gramps would not want her to be alone. So here I go again..stuggling with that.

Thanks for listening to me ramble..I will figure it out somehow.

As for today...its cleaning time. I have ignored my house long enough..hehe

have a great day all!!

Hi Peeps

Bliss - welcome - this is a fantastic group of people. I look forward to getting to know you.

We finally saw the sun for about 5 minutes today - first time in 3 days. I hope we still get some warm weather and we can use the pool a bit more.

I'm in the cooking mode again - tonight trying a Rachel Ray recipe I'm modifying - scallops and corn. It's pretty low cal the way she fixed it but will make it even more so - I got some lovely scallops.

I am encouraged to walk 40 miles this month - I need to do more today to be on pace since I didn't start out too strongly. I did 2 miles this morning and hope to add 2 more later today. Last night I took one of the pups to the park where we walked the trail - I stopped to watch 4 wild turkeys - I don't think she ever saw them. I think the city is encroaching on their space.

Sharon - thinking of you - are you lurking?

That's about it from here - move your bodies, drink your water and SMILE.

Hugs to all,
Carol

Zelma: I love your new hair color. Very spicey!

Bernice: I hope your computer is behaving now.

Toni: Congrats on winning the food scale. It is always so nice to win a prize.

Carol: Hi girl. Glad you are enjoying walking. Sounds like you are really going to go for it this month. I hope the weather holds up for you. Do you by any chance know when the biggest looser challenge starts for us?

Rat: Regardless of it storming bad or not, I am so proud of you for being so well prepared. Hugs to you.

Cassi: I hope you feel better very soon.

Debi: Woo hoo! I am so happy for you to be out of the 240's. I'm right on your heals, hopefully. lol. Congrats on the new dresses too!

Debbie: Congrats for the wins at the casino. Hugs. What day is your birthday?

Julee: I am sorry that some of your tests weren't where you wanted them to be but I am very excited about your November plans. Hugs. oh, now, bring that gazelle out into the open so you can watch something on tv you enjoy and jump on it.

Blissful: Welcome. I am looking forward to getting to know you. Everyone here is so awesome. Congrats on taking a step to get yourself healthy.

Cyn: Hugs sweetie.

Not much going on here. I slacked off all day yesterday literally. I am doing laundry today. Work starts tomorrow at 5:30 a.m. and Tuesday at 4:45 a.m. I also have another meeting with the Voc Rehab lady on Tuesday. I am very excited about it because Friday I went and met with my old water aerobics instructor and got some information about a certification class for Aquasize in November. Can't wait to hear what the Voc REhab lady says.

Tuesday evening I am speaking at the Weight Loss Surgery Seminar that they have once a month. I am very excited and nervous about it. I sent quite a few of my before pictures to Walgreens and had them sized at 5X5 to share with the group. They look horrid. lol. If it helps one person though I guess it is worth it.

I hope you all have a wonderful week.

Blessings to you all,
Annie

Julee, I hope you have great success in getting preggers and it doesn't take too long. You'll make an awesome mom!

Debi, haven't had too many sales, but several people have made me one of their favorites. So at least they are looking. I've got one custom order to get done. It's a start. It is a really good site to find some homemade things, isn't it?
Get out there and get yourself some new spanx!!

Hi Bliss, welcome!

Annie, it's tomorrow. The job you have sounds like it would be fun. Hours are a bit early (for me) but still, fun! I hope you enjoy it. Also good news about finding your path for school!

We're being invaded by flies and some other kind of weird bug in our house. They area all over our master bathroom. I don't know how they are getting in since the window in there is closed. We were thinking maybe they were coming thru the vent but who knows. Last night some other kind of bug, about 6 of em, were in our toliet and then while laying in bed, a couple of them were crawling on me. Needless to say I had nightmares of them crawling all over me. ICK!!! We sprayed outside the window last night and so far, nothing this morning so keep your fingers crossed for us. We get the weirdest things out here!!! Did I tell you that we saw a deer on our property the other day? It was a doe and so graceful.
Ok, I gotta check the football scores for hubby. Have a great day!

Annie - I think I'll post the weigh in dates after the teams are announced. I loved watching it last time. Thanks for the reminder.

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to drop a quick note letting everyone know I was back. Life has been very hectic. I thankfully haven't gained any weight I lost 3 pounds just from making sure I kept moving because my eating has not been good at all lately. I don't know if anyone else feels like this, but being so overweight has me feeling helpless. My ex was abusing me and I felt like I couldn't protect myself, I couldn't even defend myself. So I decided that I will do something so I will never have this problem ever again. Not to say that I believe I could take on a man but I would like to have a better chance at defending myself instead of my weight being used against me.

Well, I PLANNED to get back here yesterday and write lots of personal messages, because we were home all day (except a very quick trip to the shops to get some cleaning gear) and I thought I would have plenty of free time. HAH! I spent HOURS cleaning!!! I suppose it is the first weekend of Spring here, so Spring cleaning obviously seemed the thing to do. I had to take an antihistamine because of all the dust I was moving around. I was a little embarrassed about how long it has been since I did such a good clean. I rearranged a couple of my Winnie-the-Pooh collections (yep, I'll never grow up) and had fumes floating all over the place in the bathrooms. I also baked a couple of large oat slices/bars and some berry/yoghurt muffins.

All in all, a VERY productive day. I think I only stopped for meals. I felt very good afterwards, and I do love having a clean house, but my back was quite sore by the end of the night and my tendonitis in my elbows had flared up. Because it had been feeling good I forgot to put my braces on. Hopefully I'll remember that next time.

We had our state elections here on Saturday. Voting is compulsory here, so we were lined up at about 7:40am, ready for the doors to open at 8am, so we could still get to the shops early for grocery shopping. We were third in line behind an ex student of mine. I taught him in Grade 2 and he is now 20, so we had lots to chat about. We don't have any results of the elections at the moment because it is too close. They are fighting over a smaller party, trying to get their votes I think. It is all a little too confusing for me.

So, it is Monday morning already and I'm getting ready to head off to work again. Only three weeks until our two week mid-term break. I've been very good at protecting my throat, which isn't easy when you teach music and choir. I've been 'mouthing' a lot of songs to the CD. My appointment with the ENT specialist is on Sept 23rd, so I should know more about what is going on then.

Should be a lovely day today - some cloud cover and 23C/72F.

Hope you all have a lovely end of your weekend and start of your week.

Take care,

Zelma
