morning all...

well yesterday was an interesting day at work..they are remodeling and we found out not only does our office of 5 NOT get a window...ugh...but we are alos getting 3 more people who are known tatletales! its going to be like high school again. ( It will happen before christmas...and no way of getting around it.

The gym will finally be back open today...so back to my routine. I know after being off for a few months it is like starting over. BUT I know I will be okay!

A girl in our office announced she was going to order pizza today..im skipping it and brown baging my lunch..and actually looking forward to my salad instead.

Well, laundry today to do and vacuum the liv. room and kit. I am not looking forward to them. Oh well, it will get me moving! Gotta work in the morning tomorrow and then camp a night and home Sunday. So I need to get a couple things packed too. yak back later, Penny

Good Morning Peeps

Yesterday was the one year anniversary of my weight loss journey. I've been doing a lot of introspection the last few days and must say I'm very proud of my accomplishments this year. Perhaps the weight loss was not as fast as I had hoped however I truly feel I have made some life changing new habits - which in the long run is much more important. I can also say that I have not had drive thru fast food in more than a year - something never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever say.

The support I have received from each and every one of you is a major part of the successes I have enjoyed this year - I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Even if it was simply pointing out the blatantly obvious - thank you - at times the forest and the trees are invisible to me because I am too busy looking at the leaves.

The being said - here I go beginning another year and can't wait to look back a year from now and see what more I've learned.

Carol-When I tell myself that I should be farther along, all I have to do is remember how far I've come. If I have trouble remembering, I get out my one pair of fat pants that I saved.

I woke up with more energy than I thought I would have after a long day. Sleeping 12 hours will do that though. I'm actually sore in some leg muscles that I haven't used in a long time. I think from just sitting in a desk chair.

Hi everyone, Good morning.

It is 10:30 a.m. here and I have already gotten off work. lol. I only have to work about4 hours on Mon and Tues and 2.5 hours Wed, Thurs, and Fri. It is soooo easy too. Just unpacking Netflix dvd's and cleaning them if they need it and checking for damages. I never thought I would like a job like this but it is perfect for me right now.

Penny: Did you decide on a personal trainer? Let me know. I am proud of you for trying all the machines at the Y!

cyn: Grat job eating a smaller piece of cake. Small steps. Sorry about the news in your office. Maybe it will be better than you are anticipating.

Carol: I can't say enough about how proud I am of you! Congrats on your 1 year anniversary to getting healthy! A Neti pot is a little tea pot looking thing and you put warm water in it with some salt and stir it around. You tilt your head to the side over a sink and pour the solution into your nose. It runs out the other nostril with "icy gunk". My DH has been usuing it for about 5 times now and loves how great it helps his sinuses feel. I bought mine at Walgreens for less than $15.

Catherine: I got my DL renewed back in March so I was at about 275 pounds then because I weighed 25 pounds less than my license said. lol. I am going to wait until I am closer to goal if not at goal before I get it renewed again. I'm proud of you for surviving school. I will be starting on the 22nd and I will be thinking about you for inspiration. I am scared silly and excited at the same time. I have never been to any classes at college.

Brenda: Hugs. Maybe you can do some extra exercise this weekend to make up for those 2 bars.

Debbie: Congrats on renewing your license. I know exactly how you feel about still seeing the "fat girl" in the mirror. Hugs to ya. I agree with your DH, your face is so much thinner than it was before!

Well, I have been on the gazelle for 15 minutes and I left it out to jump on it again later. I recorded "Revenge Of the Nerds" last night off of HBO or Starz. I love that movie and it will be a great distraction for me while I ride my recumbant bike and do the steppers and gazelle again.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. It is supposed to be nice here at about 78 degrees. I hope so. I would love to go on a ride. Oh, I almost forgot. My DH, Joel gets to come back on days. Last night was his last night to work so Monday back to normal! I'm so happy about that.

havent been on the last couple of days since our home internet keeps acting up! DH has had them come out 7 times in the last 30 days last night the repair guy actually drove over an hour to get to our house last night at 10:30pm!!! however it is still not fixed! They are coming after school today to re wire our internet on its own line....since they keep piggybacking it to the cable line for the TVs they said maybe this will help it stay connected....we get connection then while we are downloading emails or loading a website it bumps us VERY frustrating not to mention poor DH's online college courses!!!

I had a no loss week this week. I knew it would probably happen and even sort of planned for it but it still bothered me. I had a small panic feeling of Failure but talked to my friend in TOPS and she helped me curb it. My planned birthday indulgence was great but I don't know if I want to do it again until Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. I am sort of dreading those family get togethers.
I did win a new food scale. It is a digital Chefmate thingie, pretty cool but i will need my techno savy son to help me figger it all out. Still trying to walk, in fact I am heading out soon for my daily one. Gotta see if my husband will go with me, bye for now.

Carol-HAPPY 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY! You are doing great! Keep going! It will be exciting to see what next year brings, I agree. Penny

Last night I finally got around to making the eggplant lasagna posted here several weeks ago - it was fantastic. I did add ground turkey because I needed more protein but it would have been good just as it was.

Catherine - I'm headed back to the pool this morning - ready to go?

Hello my Peeps!

Well, the "moderate" rain is here from TS Hanna. They are expecting 5-10 inches in a matter of hours. I'm ready with my generator full of gas, oil checked, extra gas ready, power cords to sump pumps on standby and most importantly, all doggie toys and fuzzy toys are inside. Because I'm ready, the power won't go out

I even took the canapy off the shelter over the driveway and moved my car out of reach of tree limbs. We probably won't have much wind because I did that. lol

Ok so the cable guys didn't come out on friday but they did come out this morning(which meant we missed our fostering class) they checked ALL our lines turned off the ones we dont have hooked up.....labeled each line at the box......then they wired a new line into our dining room for a direct line to our modem! We should *fingers crossed* have no further problems with our internet! It has been a pain in the you-know-what! Poor DH missed 3 classes this week........deadlines that don't take "my internet was down" as an excuse! I guess he could of gone to the library to work on his assignments but our library closes early and he wouldn't of had enough time anyways......oh well hopefully he can make up the points on the next assignments!

I know somebody was talking about neti pots for sinuses.....if it is due to allergies, I have a healthy remedy for you! DH has bad allergies to tons of plants, I was told to give him "locally grown" honey! You can pick it up at any healthfood store or a farmers market sometimes they have amish honey(which is locally grown). The reason this works for allergies, is because the bees pollenate on the very plants that your allergies are triggered by and so by eating locally pollenated honey you inject yourself with enough of the pollen to simulate an allergy shot! My Dh doesn't have to get allergy shots anymore! If you sinuses are really bad at the start of this get some Organic Apple Cider Vinager and mix a tsp of the honey in that take it several times a day till the symptoms subside (usually 3-4 times and by morning you will feel better). If the sinus trouble is from something other than allergies then it will not effect the symptoms........but will help mucus buildup.

during allergy season I just give DH a tsp in am & pm of the honey and thats all he needs! Hope this helps!

Last night I did jump on the treadmill walked uphill on the toughest route I could set it for.........kept that for 5 mins then leveled it out and walked the fastest I could (4.0) for another 2mins then cooled down at (3.0) for 3mins......kicked my butt!!!! LOL I haven't been on the treadmill for over a month!!! will try to get on it again today inbetween laundry loads!

drinking more water..........between 20oz & 40 oz! watching what goes in my mouth but still not counting calories! My meals though have been the same as usual (my counting calorie usual) so thus the reason I'm maintaining.........need to really start counting but I figure if I start exersizing while maintaining with what I'm eating maybe I will boost my matabilizm enough to get it working again.

well it is saturday and all though I dont have to work weekends...these are my worst days for eating. Mainly cause of boredom...dont get me wrong i have plenty to do. I just get bored and shovel it in.

Whew, I just made it back online in time for the power to maybe get knocked out by the winds of Hanna! I hope not--so far she seems pretty tame. We're getting rain now but it just seems like a regular old rainstorm. Hope everyone is doing well this weekend. Now I need to go catch up!

Im so happy to be in the 30s!! I am now working on losing another 1.2lbs to make it to my halfway mark.
I had a wonderful day today. A church across the street had a huge yardsale. A lady who is a member there had some stuff from her dress shop that just went out of business .I got a dress that was marked 150.00 for 4 dollars.I got it in a 16 thinking it wouldnt fit for a little while..but i came home and it fit..need to wear spanx to make it look nice.I went back and got a 14 in another dress for spring i loved and it was marked 150 also..I wont be able to wear it till springs but its an awesome goal to set and the prices were so awesome!!
spent the rest of the day painting the porch and foundation of my house..got a little to much sun but feels great!! Today is the most relaxing day i have had in months..and i think i did more work than most days.LOL
I missed out on an exercise bike at the yardsale.I saw someone putting it in their trunk when i walked up:O( I would have loved to have had it!!

Cyn I'm with you on eating out of boredom!! I try to have vegies all cut up for me to snack on over the weekend or fruit..........at least it is fiber & healthy calories instead of empty ones!!! Hope your weekend goes well! DS loves AZ he says he does miss the green of KY though! LOL I know he will be missing AZ when he gets done in Dec and comes home to bitter cold LOL

Cassie Loved your 3FC blog! What part of Jersey are you in? DH's Aunt lives in Jackson, we have been out there many times! We are due a trip out that way again since his Aunt & Uncle are getting up in years and have been ill this year.....maybe for christmas....not sure yet.

Well our internet went out again this afternoon and DH was RIPPING mad!!! LOL he called them once again and they came out yet again........this time they found that it has NOTHING to do with the wiring on our house, nor the modem..........it has to do with the lines on the pole or even further down the system of wires.....maintaince (a different repair guy) will have to come out on Monday!!!! But, at least he wont have to come into the house! DH has missed 2 days off of work & I one day with these blasted problems!!! They said they were going to credit our account but we will believe it when we see it reflected on our bill!!! LOL

I went to the store & made healthy choices for lunches this week as well as dinners & snacks. I cooked Whole Wheat penne pasta with speghetti sauce and ground turkey meat topped it with freshly grated parmesan cheese and a HUGE tossed salad with spinach leaves.

I am going to get off here and switch wash loads and walk for a few mins on the treadmill shooting for 30 but yesterday I barely could do 10! So I figure if I do a 10 min walk each time I switch loads I might get 30 mins in today!!!!
