Girls,

I would say, if you're an all or nothing type of person, pick a day of the week where you can give it your "all," then use that day and repeat it the next day. Wake up each day with the intention that you will repeat the "all" day that you successfully completed. Then each day thereafter, try to beat the previous day, week, month. Keep track of how you're doing. I use a heart rate monitor during exercise.

I can only speak for myself...when I started to do something about my weight this year, in January, I was doing only a small fraction of what I'm doing now. I would go to the gym and my goal was to burn only 100 calories or exercise for only 30 min. I'd get so tired after that. Now, I go for almost 2 hours and burn 900-1000 calories. I also eat much better too.

It took a month of habit building, giving it my "all" in one day, failing the next day, until I built up the good habits and got rid of the bad ones. So now I do workouts 6 days a week, sometimes doing 2 workouts in a day, keeping a food journal, recording calories.

Busy is an excuse, but not a bad excuse. Sometimes life gets busy. The worst excuse is not trying at all.

If there's one thing you can do to make healthier choices, start doing it. Drinking 8 cups of water a day, taking stairs at work, walk to the store, not buying junk food, getting adequate rest (which actually promotes weight loss), turning off the TV and do some cleaning. The small changes are almost effortless but can make a difference. Just think of every decision you make as either helping or hurting your weightloss goals. Even work. Is working one more hour going to help you or is that hour better spent at the gym?

Sorry, I'm no life coach and don't mean to sound like one...but I am someone that has struggled with weight for years and this is what I go through.

Thanks for reading!

Beila - thanks for the pep talk! I am seriously considering re-joining WW this week. I did it once and lost 40+ pounds, but then had another baby! I have not managed to get myself back into making good choices ever since.

ONe of my biggest downfalls is being at the computer to much ...for both leisure work. I also have moved away from drinking water.

Today's goal is to drink drink drink that water!

GOOOOD MORNING LADIES!!!!!!

Let me start by saying BEST WEEKEND EVER! So glad I went. Thursday night went to the the Hard Rock Casino club/bar and danced our butts off. Friday, spent the day recovering from Thursday night. (lol) Saturday went to the warrior dash. "Craziest freaking day of your life" really summed up the event. Flew back on Sunday morning.

Warrior Dash....where to start? We had to park our cars and be bussed to the event. So the weather called for thunderstorms that day. It did not disappoint. At the start of the race it started to drizzle. I thought (silly me) that the "path" of the race would be dirt, but solid ground. WRONG! It was nothing but mud and water. So we ran 3 miles in nothing but mud and sometimes knee deep water. The first obstacle was a trench filled with water. It went clear up to my chest. As we continued the race it started raining harder. I decided not to take a shower that morning because I knew I would be a muddy mess when it was all over. Big mistake. As it started raining, the hairspray went in my eyes, blinding me. Just to add to the excitement of the race. lol. Then the last 1/2 mile they started coming through telling people to hurry up because the storm was getting worse. So we finished the race and everything was packed up and they were all heading out. So no beer, no food. But that's okay. So we went to get on the bus and by this time the rain was really coming down. At the end of the line they said it was an hour wait. So we decided to run back to our cars. It was 2 more miles to our car. Halfway there the tornado sirens start going off and it started hailing! I was in a sleeveless shirt and shorts so it really stung. So we took cover in an overhang of a high school. Waited about 20 min for it to pass and then ran the other mile to the car in the rain. It was absolutely crazy. The news said 3 tornadoes were spotted in the local area.

So I learned two things about myself. 1.) I have muscles that I never new existed before the race. I guess it takes a lot of stability muscles to not fall on your a** in a muddy race.

and 2.) I was fooling myself into thinking I was really working out hard. I need to start running and pushing myself.

Minus the tornadoes it was a blast! I am looking forward to the one in August. That gives me plenty of time to improve my running.

So it is Monday.
169.4/+5/174.4 Uhg! Dagger to the heart. JK! Wouldn't take back this weekend for anything. I will be back in the 160's in no time.

Hi ladies,

Well, I'm up 3.5 today. What can you do, right? Just need to get right back on track. How is everyone? We had a busy weekend...lots of fun. Sorry I was pretty much MIA, but from the looks of it we were all busy this weekend.

LTsgirl--Wow, that sounds amazing. I'm amazed that you were able to get through it, especially in those conditions. Crazy. Sounds like a busy and fun weekend. I know you know, but that +5 will come right off. Just water weight I'm sure from eating out.

Beila--Thanks so much for the website. Very interesting, indeed. Thanks for the support. Seems like you're doing well. Your head's in the right place.

girls--WW is such a good plan and if it worked for you before you should consider it again. How did you do with your water?

Jacki--Where are you, girl? Catching up after being away? Check in! Miss you!

I'm committing to being back on track this week.

Hey Ladies,

So sad...I didn't lose any weight. 152 pounds. Well I'm really going to try to stay positive. There will be no negativity in this post!

Good news:
-I didn't gain weight
-I've been a "steady" 152
-I've been exercising and eating healthy for the past 5 days
-5 days binge free
-I now know where I can cut more calories and stay in control
-I have more strength and have been working out harder than ever before in my life

One thing I'm concerned about is that I haven't been going #2 as often as I normally do. I've been eating veggies, salads, oatmeal, fruits. Not sure what the problem is. Perhaps this has something to do do with the lack of weight loss.

I've also been researching a supplement called "Abdominal Cuts". Anyone heard about this? Playgirl Kendra used it to lose her baby weight. I've been on different websites and read some amazing reviews. It targets belly fat. The main ingredient is CLA, a fatty acid. There are also fish oils too in it. It supposed to curb cravings and give energy. Many many good reviews. Only problem is no money back gaurantee.

My goals for this week:
-Drinking 64 oz water every day.
-Stay on track diet+exercise
-Up Exercise to 2 times a day
-Eat every 2-3 hours
-Lose 3 pounds....Go into 140's already! I know I keep saying that every week...

So onto you girlies....

Girls--Good to hear you are making a goal to drink more water. Add more goals each day for a better YOU with every day! I go on the computer a lot too, but lately it has been to research ways to lose weight. Like ways to boost metabolism, recipes, researching healthy foods, etc. Have you got a diet or exercise plan in place?

LT-- your Warrior Dash experience sounds sooooo AWESOME! I'm sure the rain was underappreciated as it washed away the mud! My friend did it and said it felt weird with the mud "caked" on her skin.

Ann--So glad you'll be committed this week. If you ever "fall" off the track, you can always get back on with the very next meal.

Jacki--Hope to hear from you soon and that all is okay with your family. Check in soon!

Here's to a new start of the week and to making positive changes!

Wow. It sounds like everyone had a crappy week. (weight loss) I took the day off today. I am pretty sore from the run, and was exhausted from traveling. So tomorrow it is on! Spinning class in the morning. Then we'll see from there. I wanted to start swimming again but I came home to snow. Grrrr!! I am so sick of the cold weather.

Jacki - Welome back!

Girls - My sister has a lot of success doing WW. If it worked before, it should work again. My sister says it helps her stay on track knowing she has to weigh in weekly. (we do that here, but something about the look from the person weighing you when you gain is enough for her. lol)

Beila - Do you belong to anything like Netflix? You could try out videos and see if you like them before paying for them. They have a ton of fitness videos on netflix.
Conrats on the 5 days binge free. That is awesome. I have never heard of Abdominal cuts. Not sure how something could target one specific area. Didn't Kendra also have a personal trainer. Is it expensive? It may be worth a try. Plus if they carry it at GNC don't they have a some kind of guaruntee? Just a suggestion. BTW I do not participate in Lent.

Ann - How is the eating? I felt like I was eating everything in sight today. Maybe I got it all out of my system now. We can do this. I know it.

Oh gosh, I binged today...and in an EPIC way...I think it was due to my weigh in today and just overall feeling terribly sore

After a bad workout session at the gym, only 1 hour of elliptical and burned only 300 calories, I drove home...but I sorta premeditated the binge...it started about the last 10 min on the elliptical...was watching food network on the tv--BAD choice of shows to watch while working out! It was one of those shows that explains how specific foods are made, like in the factory. They were showing how decadent ice creams and dairy queen star popsicles were made...oh gosh.

Anyways, I started driving to the 99 cent store for some sour candy, just a bite and I'd throw the rest away. I ended up getting more than just candy... Long story short I think I binged on like 1100 calories...not happy.

Afterwards I went to the library, and borrowed 4 diet books, including a Jillian Michaels book, the Beck Diet Book, the 4 Day Diet book by Ian Smith, and the Perricone diet book. Tomorrow I'm gonna read some of them and just figure out some ways to control my eating habits.

I'm just gonna have to start over again tomorrow. I'll try for 10 days binge free, that should put me. the day after St. Patty's binge free. Seems like a long time to not binge but will keep trying.

LT--I don't have netflix, but I look at the videos on youtube before I get them. About the eating..I don't know. I guess as food lovers, we can't deprive ourselves of what we love. I think for maintenance and lifelong habits we just need to learn to just have a little bit. Even skinny people just have a little and be done with eating. Self control is hard to learn but we all have it in us. We control the way we dress, the way we work, talk, behave, drive, we can do it with eating.

I hope we can continue to motivate each other through this website, I'll pray for us all, and hopefully next week we will be the biggest losers! Go team chicas!

^ I can totally relate to you on your binge. Its so easy to slip. I convince myself after 7 measly days of dieting that I would go crazy if I didn't have fried chicken. So I went and got me some and went on from there eating what ever I wanted. But In the morning im back on my plan hoping for success this time! I would love to have a weight loss buddy this forum is awesome.

imtryinjustg - welcome, and just take it one day at a time

Beila - forgive yourself and move one. look back at all the healthy choices and changes you have made. I relate with you and the inability to just take one bite of that forbidden food. I am better off not taking that just one bite....but it is hard to resist....forgive yourself...today is a new day.

Ann- don't give up! Keep working towards that healthier you!!

LT - WOOHOO I am happy and sore for you!

Me - I may have convinced by sister to join WW with me woo hoo!!!! I managed to get in most of my water yesterday, and maybe it is a 'mind game' but I did feel better than I have in days. I made better food and quantity choices too.....but did not totally deprive myself either. Here goes today! (Thinking of you all! )

I must confess that I am having a difficult time getting back into the swing of things. I put my scale away....I don't even want to look at the number. I think it would depress me even more. I think I am having a hard time after I had to leave my DH. I had such a wonderful weekend. I gave myself yesterday to "get over it" but I still feel blah! The snow is not helping. I know I shouldn't feel this way because he comes home in 12 days. That's it. Less then 2 weeks. I shoud be trying for another 5lbs before he gets home. I also know that I will feel so much better after I do it. It all sounds so logical in my head. It is the empty emotional pit in my stomach that says otherwise. Guess I should stop complaining, get off my a** and go do something. Maybe some Zumba will make me feel better.

Welcome imtrying!

girls - that is great to have someone to do it with you. I can't wait for my DH to come home. He is my workout/eating buddy. We support each other.

Beila - don't think of it as x number of days, take as today I will not binge. When you say a number it adds to the stress and makes you think that is so long away and makes it seem almost impossible. So control what you do TODAY.

Alright ladies, there are only 9 days left until our mini challenge is over. I may have to adjust my goal to just be back into the 160's. Let's give it all we got!

Here is some

Hi ladies,

Well, I haven't been on plan 100% either myself, but I'm making lots of progress from where I was this weekend and last week. Just taking it one step at a time. Progress, not perfection is my motto.....Slow and steady wins the race...and all that crazy stuff that I don't fully believe but I'm trying. LOL. But seriously, I really think that we're all doing the right thing by continuing to be here. In the past, I would just drop off the site once I was off plan, but not this time. Just staying here for the support is a good first step, even if I'm not on plan 100%.

LT--I bet you're so excited that you'll get to be with DH soon. Do you think you'll be able to workout with him sometimes? That's always a good way to stay on track.

girls--YAY! Good job on the water and I hope your sister does join with you. When are you thinking of starting? Will you do online or face to face meetings?

imtrying--Hi and welcome! Hope you stay here and join this buddy thread. We'd love to have you. We're all works in progress on this thread.

Beila--Put the binge behind you and move on. Just try not to carry it into today or beyond. You can do it.

OK, check in later. xoxo

Beila, I like your playlist. Thx for sharing. I need to get my mix. Helps so much to have something invigorating to listen to while you work out! I think we need a playlist thread. Anyone up for starting it?

Ann,
Thanks for the support girl! I really was just about to binge..AGAIN...just feeling awful. Today, so far so good...but I weighed myself and gained 2 pounds, what the ****? I don't get it. I didn't binge on 7000 calories yesterday! Anyways, it's probably just water weight. Had lots of sodium.

I'm about to hit GNC to check out supplements to curb my cravings. Dr. Oz was talking about chromium today, and Jillian's book recommends it. Also Jillian recommends CLA too, the same stuff found in Abdominal Cuts...gonna check it all out. Hope tomorrow i can take control again.

Talk soon!
