I'm in the same boat. 174 and it's not moving too fast. I know I've hit my plateau, so it's time to start shaking things up.

Anyway, sorry it's so short, but I need to get ready for my run- 4 miles today at maintenance speed. I'm glad tomorrow's a holiday- Queen's birthday, even though her birthday is on 21 April- I can have a lie-in and go to the gym a little bit later.

Have a good morning/afternoon ladies!

Edit:
Well, 15 minutes into my run, I feel as though my right knee is going to float down my shin; there's fluid moving in them thar parts. So I stopped the run just over a mile into it. Went to the bike instead. No joy. 10 minutes on the bike and said fluid was making my knee feel creepy, so I stopped. At least I did some exercise today. Didn't do anything different while running- stayed at my maintenance pace of 5.3mph with a 5 minute-4mph warmup. It's a little tender- time for some ice.

Well, my new low of 182.6 stuck, which surprised me. And even though I've only lost a pound this week, my clothes fit much differently this week than they did a week ago. I obsessively try on clothes in my closet. It's my new chocolate.

I'm expecting a huge whoosh any day now...I should be a legitimate 170's chick soon!

I think I finally got a woosh...I saw 179.4 on the scale today! I've only seen it once, so I don't feel like I can claim it yet. Here's to hoping it sticks!!

Just in time to, because my official Navy weigh in is tomorrow morning!

Memorysan--That's Wonderful Once you see it once you know it's not too far off for real. Welcome to the group! May your stay be short!

Pixie- I hate it when my scale lies to me.. But you know you will see that number legit in no time!

Mollz- Ouch!! Can you get it drained? For some quick relief? How about a brace? Hope it's better soon!

Eliana- It's amazing when one pound makes a difference isn't it! Hope you have a speedy drop into then out of the 170's!

My scale this morning moved. 174.0 That is .4 down from the last few days. (warning tmi ahead) I went to the doctor yesterday and found out I have a bladder infection. Joy. On antibiotics. So hopefully this won't make me stall

Well, whatever the scale says tomorrow for my official weigh in...that's what I'm changing my ticker to. I plan to quit smoking tomorrow and I'm a pretty heavy smoker now, I hope I don't gain weight when I quit...at least I'm on a program to lose it back if I do.

Funny you should mention quitting smoking. A friend and I were discussing this a few weeks ago and he was wondering why people always said they were going to gain weight after they stopped and, lo and behold, they did gain vast quantities of weight. I told him I think it was because the mind says "in order to feel happy after giving this up, I need to find some other way of feeling happy" and we associate food with happiness, especially mom's cooking, grandma's baking, etc.

So, my advice would be to find something that makes you happy (that's NOT food-related) and do that when you get the urge to smoke.

You can do it. Kia kaha; stay strong.

On the smoking thing... Nicotine actually raises your BMR. People who smoke burn more calories than people who don't. There have been lots of studies on the subject. Couple that with the fact people will sometimes eat to deal with the oral fixation.. Lots of weight gain.

Hey all, I am going to jump into this thread too if you don't mind. I am not officially a 170's yet but hoping to be on my next weigh in Monday! Started (seriously) just a week and a half ago. Was 184.4 on my initial weigh in. Mondays are my weigh in days and this Monday I was down to 181.2. So crossing my fingers that as of next Monday it will be under 180! And I can't wait to get a ticker! LOL

Welcome, Peaches!!

Aisline - go on, get outta here, girl!! You are doing GREAT!

Well, I essentially wasted a week when I could have been losing. We went on vacation and I just barely maintained...scales showed up .6 today, but we had some SALTY food last night, so I'm not sweating it.

Onward and out of this decade by summer's end!

Peaches, welcome! Good for you for getting a handle on this NOW!

Mortonpixie, I'm ready to kick salt to the curb!! I hate going to eat now, but there are just some days I don't want to cook. I can eat as healthy as possible, but you just can't control the salt.

Aisline, so close! You'll be there soon, you will.

I had a frustrating day a few days ago. The scale went from 177 one day to 173 the very next day. I was elated!! ELATED! I hopped back on the scale after a workout just to see the scale read so low again and got a 168. Now I knew it was the scale, not me. I changed the batteries and the scale zoomed back up to 178, and I've been stuck there ever since. I've been mourning the loss of 173. 173 puts me out of the obese category, I will have lost over 60 pounds and over 25% of myself! That was a HUGE number to me!
